Why people need in excess of 1 hour for a lunch break at a game day. Adult players who get angry when younger/new players are confused or maybe staying a little behind so they dont get hit as much. I don't get what they gain from shouting at these newer players to push up while they themselves, in all their gucci gear, are the furthest back. But most of all, people who pre-fire the hell out of CQB like its CSGO. Pet hate of mine, don't understand what they really gain from it other than looking like a knob and using a load of ammo/gas. Luckily it seems to be mostly a stateside thing, along with their bang bang rule.3 points -

The new TM NGRS mp5. Had my first game last Sunday with it and as with all TM guns it obviously shoots amazing out the box but with the new MOSFET system, just a huge improvement on trigger response and no lock ups on semi which essentially saves the need for a titan. Trigger pull is short which is nice with good spring tension and the fire selector has a firm click and no play between each setting which is unlike any other AEG mp5 unless your lucky enough to have a TW5. Converted to a SD straight out the box as that's my preferred mp5 variant. I jubilee clip a lower kac rail with a stubby tango grip and looking at sourcing a eotech for the devgru look. As my user name suggests I love mp5s grew up seeing them in films and TV shows, I normally run a MWS as performance wise it's hard to beat but the build quality and performance of the mp5 is outstanding so I bumped the FPS up out the box so its now up there with the MWS and I personally feel like the MWS will start gathering dust now ha.3 points

Seriously naff patches. Standing around chatting for half the game. 'Cold War' games that have a cut off date for kit in '91. Tell the people of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, Cuba, Venezuela, Belarus, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Namibia, Angola, Brazil, Honduras, Syria, Nepal, Bolivia etc that the Cold War ended in '91. Moaning. If I wanted to hear a load of moaning on a Sunday afternoon I'd stay home and ignore the state of the grass, need for paint on the back door and long forgotten agreements to see 'friends.' so premise of this is what things in airsoft do you not "get", and why? i'll start off with a couple- patches- i really don't get it, especially people who seem to collect them and get properly excited when they see a new patch. doubly so when you see people using the patches you get with bits of kit like airsoft innovations or gate products or from sites. painting desert camo- i'm not a fan of painting stuff in general, but i can get why folk would want to paint camo to make a gun more concealable, or painting crazy designs as an artistic expression, but painting desert camo just confuses me because you're not really getting any artistic benefit (no more than painting it an appropriate woodland camo) but you are making the gun stand out. note i'm not counting people doing it as part of a specific impression loadout, that's understandable. the kriss vector- not the gun in general or why people would use it, but why they're all so unreasonably heavy, seriously are they making those things out of depleted uranium or something? revolvers- or more correctly how anyone can fire one and not be immediately dissapointed......2 points -
If a criminal wants a fake gun that looks real enough to commit a crime with then they don't need anything that looks even close to what we use. They could easily make something that looks realistic enough (or even easier than that they could simply buy an airgun that's just as realistic-looking as any of our RIFs), so imposing any further restrictions would be utterly pointless.2 points

I mean, people could have ran late, stuck in traffic etc but I get where your coming from. One of my major annoyances is people arriving late to the cinema. Why would you pay for a movie to arrive late missing some of it. anyway back to Airsoft. My main thing is the amount of sitting time you get at a lot of sites, lunch included. The mall gave you 45 mins and was clear, you miss the game brief your not playing. And had a short turnaround in between games. some sites seem to run 60% safe zone to 40% game zone action some days it seems which is really annoying. late starts piss me off too. I get up early on a Sunday to travel into the countryside to then have to sit around for over an hour as the safety brief isnβt until 10am even through the website said arrive by 8.30. Whatβs that all about!!2 points -

General aeg range
Rogerborg reacted to Pewpewpetie for a topic
Hi all, I'm sure this topics been discussed previously somewhere but what range should you expect from your aegs at 330-350fps on 0.2g... I ask because I read somewhere that someone's aeg at 340fps was hitting targets reliably at 200ft( can't remember where). My classic army scarab, which has a very consistent 330/331fps , prommy barrel , retro arms hop, maple leaf 60Β° and omega nub, will only hit 160/180ft reliably(Google maps) if I aim higher then said target. Is there anything that can really be done to up the range( considering I've done pretty much everything). I have no issues with hop(everything flies perfectly straight) also I use 0.28g when playing1 point -

Why people are happy to pay Β£30+ not including fuel, bbβs, gas and everything in between to spend the dayβ¦for lack of a better phrase, floating. You get out what you put in and I find a lot of people moaning they had a crap / slow day are the ones that float and never get stuck in.1 point -
This. The only thing that regularly grinds my gears is the number of folk who pay to play airsoft, then find every possible excuse to not play airsoft. Smoke breaks, phone breaks, bantering while they should be bombing up, marshals and site owners who would rather chat the day away rather than getting things moving. A "whole day" of airsoft tends to be 10am to 4pm, with a 2 hour lunch and 20-30 minutes between games. We're lucky if we get 3 hours of actual play out of a day.1 point

Sticking your hand up the front of your jumper and pointing an index finger at someone won't be stopped by any law, and it would be impossible for anyone to tell whether it was said finger or the muzzle of a pistol. John Dillinger used a wooden 'pistol' dyed with boot polish to escape a high security prison. It is not possible to pass laws that cannot be ignored, technological knowledge, or human ingenuity.1 point -
Working out the best BB weight
AirSniper reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
not strictly true, have a look at a recent discussion on the topic here: of course absolute range isn't the only thing worth considering, especially with pistols the range can often be limited not by how far the pistol can lob a bb, but by how well a given shooter can aim and fire at a fleeting target in skirmish conditions. they look pretty typical to me. whilst joule creep is a thing in gas blowbacks it tends not to be too noticeable for pistols simply due to the short barrel length, the bb doesn't spend enough time in the barrel that the extra % time spent for a heavier bb to pick up that much energy. the other thing to note is .2g to .25g isn't that big a weight difference compared to jumping from .2g to 0.4g it's also worth noting did you set the hop for each weight or is that set for only one of the 2 weights, as that can affect the energy (as noted in the above linked thread) yes on both counts. heavier ammo generates more back pressure which can apply extra load to the nozzle. in extreme cases it'll bulge or even burst (granted i've never actually burst a nozzle but i have heard of it happening). how much a given gun can take in this regard is a hard one to state as it depends on the build quality, gas used, ambient temperature etc etc. heavier ammo will need more spin, which needs the hop set on further or even a hop with a softer compound, which will wear it out faster. although tbh a hop is a wear component anyway and especially for the typical round count you'd see in a pistol i don't really think premature wear is an issue worth worrying about (as in by the time the hop wears out the rest of the gun will also be in a pretty poor state).1 point -

Mans is getting deja vu: The spreadsheet thread linked in there does some (admittedly basic) math behind bb lobbing, but as @rocketdogbert points out there are a lot of variables. Getting a hit after expending half a mag fired 45 degrees in the air isnt the same range as that where you can aim, fire and (wind/target movement aside) hit a man sized target reliably. I've always taken claims of people claiming to be able to shoot x/y/z meters with a massive pile of salt, and i've never measured it myself because all that matters to me is having that little extra distance compared to the other guy.1 point -

Some good stats there! Nice to see a scientific approach. The spread of FPS seems pretty usual, Joule output seems reasonable. Heavier ammo will give a tiny rise in Joules (due to joule creep) but in pistol length barrels it is negligible. Heavier ammo will, in theory, wear hop rubbers faster but probably not noticeable unless you fire THOUSANDS of rounds each weekend! I would be interested to see grouping sizes at 10m and 20m for the pistols, not really useful at ranges over that, that is what the rifle is for. I would decide what you want from your pistol (CQB at sub-10m? Out door secondary out to 20m? Sniper back up that has to reach to MED?) Then test at that range with different BBs and see what the grouping is.1 point

With all the maple leaf stuff and a nice barrel, and at around 1-1.1 joules with 0.25s or higher, 60m should be easy. It's what I regularly try to get with all the aegs I have had. Anything less is not enough for me unless the power output is not quite there. People forget that 50m really isn't that far.1 point -

Coming soon: the "Knives Bill", which introduces new restrictions for all knives and a licensing and registration requirement for all blades longer than 3", with a special "section 1" knife license required for knives with pointy ends... π Nothing to stop criminals grabbing a can of spray paint & covering them up. Or doing the opposite and putting false markings on real guns to make police hesitate if they're caught with them, and/or to make it easier for kids being used as gun mules to go unnoticed.1 point

Patches.....i can understand event patches its the patch walls i cannot understand. Full disclosure, I do have a handfull of patches - a couple of deadpool crossovers a fb group patch, event patch and a couple of freebiees from said event. However, when i look at patchwalls or inside guncase displays i just think 'there is a guns worth of patches there.. ..' Agreed with moaning/not playing. But what i truly dont get is how people turn up to sites late or only start prepping when called out tp gamezone. These people fuck me off the most as i dont understand why you wouldnt get a whole days worth of shooting...1 point -
The only thing I don't like about this release is I'm now worried they'll update the recoil line of ARs and the ones I already own will suddenly feel quite obsolete lol. I am stoked to get my MP5 next week though, I think this is TM's best release in a long time and I like a lot of what they do. My personal preference isn't the SD aesthetic but I'm sure a lot of people out there will want to know what brand SD handguard and suppressor you have on there so they can make their own.1 point
