Airsoft helped me with weight loss
Jacob Wright and 21 others reacted to GothicGhost for a topic
,I was around 16 stone few years ago and over the years it been hard to shift the weight, I started running so I when airsoft with my son I could keep up and have fun without dying from exhaustion. So, over this year I have been running more and more, I started out slow from couch to 5K and in June I did my first race for life 10k event its so good getting across the finish line. I can now run the 10k distance without stopping and my current weight dropped to 13.4 stone at age 40 right now. Thanks.22 points -

i finally managed to make it to RIFTs newest site this weekend, The Battery. as i knew it was going to be a CQB site, i decided my primary weapons for the day were going to be my new KWA Beretta M93r, my KWA GBB Skorpion and my John Wick hicappa and TM Lycoris Recoil pistols as my backups (alternating between primary and secondary throughout the day) but i took a couple of long guns such as my Tippmann in case they were needed, but ended up sticking with the short guns all day. i had purchased a bunch of mags for the m93 through RIFTs own shop, White Sphere Tactical, and arranged to pick them up on site... so once signed in it was off to collect the mags, bring kit into the indoor safezone. standard fare for chrono, but due to the CQB, ammo weight was limited to .28g. first game was team balancer and found that blue team was overly powerful, so as a lone wolf i got swapped onto red team with a handful of other players to balance the teams a little more. game modes through the day were all 30 min games with quick breaks in between for reloading, which wasnt an issue due to the relatively small size of the site. game modes included capturing ammo cans to HQ, moving a gas cylinder "bomb" to three capture points and capturing flag points around the site. TBH, not knowing the site, i was more focussed on just getting kills for the first half of the day, but i did help out with the objectives later in the day once i got more familiar with the site and my new guns. one thing i really need to look into is how to mount tracer units on the skorpion and M93, as these would DEFINATELY have helped in the indoor sections. i did have a bit of an oopsie moment (which i managed to turn to a win)... at one point a blue player was hiding behind some corrugated steel barricades at the bottom end of one of the yards, so i decided to charge the location, laying down fire with the m93 to keep the enemys head down as i crossed the open spaces. as i moved, the m93 gassed out (i think i reloaded the mag, but forgot to gas it.. oops..) so i quickly took the m93 in my left hand and drew my JW hicappa as i reached the barricade... where i hit a patch of mud, slipped over, fell into the barricade and as i slid past the edge of the barricade, managed to snap 2 shots off at the blue player, taking him out... after getting helped up, quickly checking my gear and fist bumping the blue player, i decided to call myself out to go and check my injuries and thoroughly inspect the guns and fortunately found the barrels were clear, so i was soon back out. and i was running a gopro on my helmet for the first time, so i might have caught my little fall on tape... in the process of downloading the footage as i type this message, so i should know in a few minutes.... EDIT i did indeed capture the incident on tape... https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/u1nsfc6n375ex1rm5ynb2/oopsie.mp4?rlkey=2rwbhjnlc7tm7ecp69fuvh75f&st=1sdak9fk&dl=014 points

The only assumption I'm going to make is that you are not going to get along with other members of this forum with that kind of attitude. This isn't Discord or Facebook. Your first post is of a 'what am bestest m4?' variety - something that we have seen 1000x over on these forums. Your nebulous question immediately rings alarm bells and whilst the delivery of the UKARA advice above was slightly clumsy, it is somewhat understandable given that most who ask these things still live at home with mummy and daddy, and are looking to write their airsoft xmas list to Santa. Try introducing yourself on the forums - there is an entire section dedicated to it here.13 points -

Spotting a clone
nickel0001 and 11 others reacted to JimFromHorsham for a topic
With the clone wars stronger than ever I thought it might be an idea to have a thread based on how to spot whatβs real and whatβs not , to be clear this is not a clone bashing thread , but simply a way to hopefully help you get what is advertised , be it parts , optics , lasers/torches or maybe even RIFβs themselves . just because it says Aimpoint/Eotech/Magpul/Surefire doesnβt mean it is , even the packaging is being cloned to a high standard so donβt get get duped . Iβll start with a simple Magpul CTR stock in FDE , there will be better clones than others and Iβve picked a βTak Takβ variant which retails at around Β£15-Β£20 in the UK VS a Gebuine CTR which retails around Β£75-Β£80 , the clone Says Magpul on it so in passing looks legit , the biggest tell is usually going to be the colour but as we know everyoneβs photos and lighting looks a bit different and if you have nothing genuine to compare to when it arrives you are just taking the sellers word . heres a few comparisons , and highlighted differences between the two which should be easy to spot , Genuine is CTR is either Top or to the Left . main points to note - Genuine will have black tabs where the stock pad locates NOT TAN Genuine will have a molding mark on the underside , oval shaped . Genuine stock pad will have an βFβ in the lower right hand side βpocketβ Text spacing , the Genuine will be bolder and spaced correctly Length , generally the Clones will be a touch longer . Extra Text , the genuine will have extra text in the lower frame , plus batch / manufacturing numbers just above the locking lever . Hope this helps , as time permits I will add more comparisons .12 points -

Superb morning at Driver Wood on Sunday - a 2.5 hour game, starting just before half nine, and running all the way through to lunch. Its the first time I've been there when they have run that, instead of two nominally one hour games (but which can get eroded through general faffage). As I only ever go for a half day/morning, packing as much play into that time gets my vote. Quite a fun game concept too - with lots of balloons located all around the playing area at different objectives in the team colours - idea being that you shoot out the enemy team colour balloons, and defend yours. Also I took along my 12 year old daughter for her first taste of airsoft - which she absolutely loved! I managed to give her a heavily curated experience - generally with us sticking as a pair, and me playing a lot less 'aggressively' than normal (and taking a lot more hits in the process!). She got a few hits herself, including her highlight of taking out a group of five enemy players ten minutes before the end - leaving her absolutely buzzing. I managed to arm her with a fully polymer Specna (even a polymer buffer tube) that I built up from a few parts - super light and the stock can be adjusted pretty short. Shout out to the site shop as well -coming to the rescue and selling her a multicam hoody for just Β£5 as she didn't have anything suitable in her own wardrobe.12 points -

OR WHAT ? As has been pointed out, you could have introduced yourself, given more info & context, instead of asking about "super realistic".......why ?, planning a bank job ?, fancy suicide by cop ? They're generally all realistic, especially as 99.9% of the population of the UK have never been anywhere near a real AR platform. Went to the farm in Lincoln yesterday for the first time yesterday and apart from some really inconsistent performance from my ICS APE had a great morning, I say morning because into the second game after lunch my son got a call to say his son was being rushed to hospital with a suspected broken leg. We rushed off to pack up and leave, and while doing so were asked why we were leaving and then instantly offered a refund for half the day that we would miss. We declined and we told that if we came back to mention it on booking and they would only charge us half a day. Just to add a cherry on the top my son posted on the Lincolnshire airsoft page to say how appreciative he was of the gesture and the first response was from the farm team to ask how his son was doing (fine btw thankfully not a serious break). So not only is it a really interesting site to play, it is well run, good game play and pretty decent people running it to, and a second cherry is that it is really reasonably priced for a full game day!11 points

My personal view is that it doesnβt matter what clowns/party are in charge. They would all ban anything in order to get votes so political affiliation doesnβt matter. All these people want is to line their pockets at the expense of us. Apologies but Iβm so disenfranchised with politics in this country. I canβt see it being better under labour or greens or anyone else for that matter.11 points

Peter207 sorry buddy I don't Airsoft anymore haven't a long time, sold you a rif and forgot all about it, had no idea there was any issues until I logged on here this morning after getting a message elsewhere and saw your messages, I'm sorry the rid didn't get to you buddy, it been so long I will have binned any receipts but I'm happy to refund you no issues at all. I did ask you to contact me by phone but you didn't want to give me your number it would have been much easier if you had for contact, infact I gave you my direct phone number? Why didn't you simply call me?.. seems there was a much simpler and easier way to deal with this than this post. Next time pick up the phone. Edit: refund sent, if you rif turns up keep it with my regards. On another note, don't use f&f to pay for goods online, not everyone is as honest as me.11 points -

Well, yesterday at Red Alert was our 4th, and final, Battlesim in the Vukodlak war story line. The past three years Vukodlak forces have been victorious. Having played for Vukodlak in previous years, this year I decided to marshal which, as with many battlesims, meant playing as a civilian/quest giver. I spiced it up by playing as a pirate. I was giving out quests to find my lost parrot. There were 3 inflatable parrots hidden about the site, but I had drawn an eye patch on one, and in my quest spiel I mentioned that Polly only had one eye. If they brought back the parrot with the eye patch they got a reward. I also had a bottle of grog, which got hidden, and there was a reward if they brought me "alcohol". The main objective of the day was to find all the items needed to arm a rocket, and then launch it. The rocket is something I've been building recently, but kept off of social media so it would be a surprise for the players on the day. There were two nose cones, one for each team, a round one and a pointy one (pointy is scary). Other civilians had other quests. The drug dealers were selling bags of stuff, for in game currency. This could be handed in to the sheriffs for a reward, or bartered with other npcs. There was the Hobo wandering the site with his wheelbarrow full of junk, but underneath the junk was a laptop that contained the launch codes. Driving around in his pickup was the arms dealer. He would sell you weapons that you could plant on any unarmed civilians you may have shot, and thereby avoid a war crime. π The Camels wanted water, mostly... Some civilians were mercs, that would fight for a team for short time, if paid well. At the end of the day Vukodlak were victorious AGAIN, despite some excellent play from the Calladian forces. It was a bloody marvellous day, that ended with both teams wearing massive grins and swapping stories over a beer. So roll on 2025, for a whole new story for our next battlesim! Unfortunately a lot of people had already gone home before we took the last photo after debrief.11 points -

Don't do it... you obviously don't know what type/style of pew you like, try as many aeg's as you can first or you'll be spending a fortune to only regret the purchase & we'll/I'll end up offering you 60-70% what you paid when it ends up in the classifieds. If that's not the answer you want to hear go onto youtube and watch as many gbbr video's as you can. If you do buy a GBBR, get a Calico, CZ Scorpion, L85A2 or a G3 etc coz I don't have one of these yet.11 points -

New pew today π. Since using my lad's SSE18, I've wanted one for my ghillie rig, but I've decided to dual-purpose it for my cyberpunk CQB setup. The massive holo is a placeholder until my low-profile (red) red dot arrives, but I'm starting to get attached to it, whilst tactically sweeping my house over and over. The amplifier was primarily cosmetic but it definitely makes the pistol sound less anaemic. Also missing is a red flared mag well, as it was out of stock. She's ugly, but that's kind of the point. π Once it's complete, the real project begins: Integral torch, using the foregrip cavity, and LED lighting in the rear carbine cavity... all for the cyberiness. π10 points -
