  1. This. About 7 or 8 years ago I dropped a TM TN57 mag in the woodland bit of anzio camp in leek. Not even a woodland site ry but there is some bushes and foliage. I saw it bounce off a mound of dirt and fly in to the hedgerow. Fast forward 2 years and I heard a Marshall say he found a large gbb mag in the hedges. I asked him if it had my initials and a number on it and low and behold, it was my mag! Couldn't beleive my luck. Over time the gas had leaked and it was very muddy but after a little clean up, I got it working again.

  2. Nope, but you should feel ashamed for watching that complete and utter bellend. I know for a fact (as I was on one of his gamedays last year) that all his footage is spliced and very heavily edited, that he cheats and is generally a bit of a cunt. Want to play airsoft with a ghillie suit? Fine, you do you, just choose your role models better.

  5. So, not a review per se of their Alton (near Winchester) site, more a few notes on my day there today (22/8/2021) with myself + my son + his two cousins (12 + 11 + 13, and all good sensible boys taking their hits and playing fair, with the 11 year old being a "Silver" rental). To start with I have to say it's the best site I've been to yet in the almost year I've had since playing airsoft, my son really liked it and it's his new no1 site (we've played mixed indoor / outdoor and full on indoor CQB). I didn't take any photos as I was having too much fun, which is what it's all about, and the Google Streetview points all around the site pretty much show it as it is however it was a little more overgrown than shown and all the better for it (snipers could properly hide, one game not moving onto the next round when everyone though it was over as he was so well hidden) and there was lots of good green cover). It was a nice day in the end, mild and sunny, however I think once winter hits it could get quite muddy and you'll loose the leaves of the trees so maybe easier to spot others with more ambient light). There's definitely small stone / flint about here and there so I was very glad to have good "Alta Industries" knee pads which helped a lot with keeping low. It's a big site, the car park, safe zone and the various gameplay "zones" they have (most of which are in the forest). The briefing and chrono were both good, however the marshals were very good being nice and loud for all to hear them and pushing on teams that were slacking, plus friendly. Site shop pricing was very fair for ammo and stuff, but I'd say bring your own food as the variety offered was just book in advance pizzas and chocolate and crisps (but lots of chilled drinks). The toilets were clean and well looked after, for me a sign of somewhere that cares about their image. The safe zone was good, but be aware that only a third or so of the picnic benches are under cover so if it's a rainy day get there early to claim a covered one. I'd say a solid 8 to 9 out of 10, and will definitely be going back. Edit: I think a good part of the day going well was due to this guy... https://www.instagram.com/sheezdog/ .. who was the head marshal / managing the games, and on the day was always polite and friendly no matter how many lame questions I put his way. Edit 2: And keep your eyes out for an almost new PTS EPM 1 mag out there somewhere 😢 (I should never have let my son borrow it, they're so damned expensive, and to be honest a wind up high cap feeds my DE M904E just as well)

  7. Just found this thread last night, so i will share my most recent experience from last weekend, attending one of my regular sites, RIFT Redcon 2. arrived on site in good time, signed in etc then moved through to the on site shops.. Only airsoft to collect some bits i ordered on friday and asked to be brought to site as i wouldnt get to their shop in stevenage before game day, then RIFTs own on site shop to buy smoke grenades and co2 capsules. Went back to my car to get loaded up ready for chrono while chatting to some friends... heres where things went wonky... Attached my HPA tank to my Osprey vest, and one of the poppers on a strap btoke off, fortunately threading it through the MOLLE and using a small cable tie i found in my car held it for the day, but i need a new carry pouch. moved onto my MOSCARTS... filled them from a CO2 fist device... all but 2 leaking like sieves. Nothing i can do onsite, but pray the others dont start leaking. Got my rifle mags and one pistol mag loaded and went to chrono before the main rush, passed chrono, but the pistol mag started leaking slightly from outlet. Back to car and no amount of fiddling would stop the leak, and i realised i had left valve key at home... no issue, i will just run 3 pistol mags instead of 4... went to gas the other mags... all leaking.. FUCK Ran back to onlyairsoft, praying they had mags, they only had 2 green gas and one CO2 Raven hicapa mags... no choice, i bought them then ran back to the car to load them before running back for the briefing and team armbands. I was pleasantly surprised to be issued not only a team armband, but also a medic armband... not seen the medic rule before at RIFT due to the pandemic, but this would be a lifesaver on the 70 acre site. Game rules: total war all day, swapping sides after lunch. One team had objective of recovering "flight recorders" to HQ, while other team had to find numbered poles and connect them at their HQ to make radio aerials. Locations of teams objectives marked on a map at their main spawn, plus 4 capturable forward respawn points. Morning game, not much to report, got a few kills, got killed a lot more but the medic rule helped keep me in the fight a bit longer. Helped capture one forward respawn. Attacking a group of containers (one of which held a pole the enemy needed) We came under fire from enemies hidden in the bushes. Popped a smoke and charged one of 3 gaps in the bushes that the enemy were firing through, got a trade off kill on one of the enemy. Respawned (as had alredy used my medic life) and returned. Identified where one ARP user was shooting from and popped a TAG AFG6 grenade into the bushes... 2 enemy KIA. Team mate behind me pissing himself laughing. Initially he thought the grenade had gone off as i threw it, but was just the igniter as the spoon flew off. Next thing.. BOOM followed by one of the enemy players shouting "WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!? HITTT!!" team mate then asked me where he could buy the grenades from. Break for lunch, i didnt buy food on site, just a cup of tea to refresh while reloading. Also took my tippmann to the range to adjust the hop. After lunch, quick briefing and raffle from only airsoft (didnt win, gutted as prize was a TM M870 Gas shotgun) and off to respawn. Afternoon had proceeded well, team captured all 6 poles (though one seemed to go missing on its way to our HQ, so we only ended up with 5 =/ ) I normally play on my own, floating around the site and supporting any firefights i come across, while also trying to sneak behind enemy lines to harrass them.. but as the afternoon wore on i hooked up with several other lone wolves, and ended up part of a 6 man squad. Then it happened, i encountered a cheater... As a squad we moved across the land, securing a forward respawn, confirming one of our objectives (pole) had been captured and then seen that 3 of our team mates had captured the enemy HQ, making their score zero as long as they held the HQ to ENDEX. We then moved towards the "container yard" to check if the pole there had been captured yet. As we approached there was heavy fire coming from a container on top of the hill down towards the 3 lower containers that our team was trying to assault. With the enemy focussed on our team mates the squad split up, with me moving towards the upper container, one squad member trying to move around to flank the container (but got trade off kill with enemy coming out of the woodland before he was in position) and the other 4 trying to sneak into the container yard from the opposite side to the rest of our team. I approached the upper container, drawing my pistol, and saw 2 enemies with their backs to me through the window cut into the container. A third entered the container through the container doors and i saw him pause to look at me, trying to work out if i was friendly or not. No choice but to shoot him, then his team mates before they could react. Enemy that saw me took his hit, as did enemy 3, but enemy 2 decided to tuck himself into a corner, but his leg was still exposed.. i shot him again and he moved his leg. I asked him if he was going to take his hit, and he started gesturing to another enemy in the back of the container i couldnt see. I shot him in the hand, as evidenced by him shaking it in pain... still no hit call. I shifted angle slightly so that his pouches and stomach were exposed and i shot 4 times, seeing the flaps of his pouches moving, at least one hit the side of his stomach. Still no hit call. Then he shouts "NOW" and bomb-bursts out the container doors to shoot at me full auto while his team mate popped forward into the window to shoot me. I ignored cheater and tried to get his team mate, but was too slow and taken out. Cue cheater then shouting at me to stop cheating and take my hits, at which point i asked him when he intended to take the 6 or 7 hits i landed on him. He tried denying i hit him but eventually relented when one of the other enemies i had shot (and loitered in the container to avoid getting hit again) backed me up, and so he sloped off to respawn. As i headed to my respawn i had a word with one of the marshals about cheater, and was told that i was the second person to complain about him and they would be dealt with. I dont know the outcome of that, but i didnt notice him again (not really surprising on a large site) After respawn i went back to the container yard to find my team had pushed the enemy back, so i checked for the pole to find it had been taken already. By this point a large group of enemy had respawned and were advancing on the containers. I was pinned where i was and couldnt leave without being hit, so i decided to try and get as many enemy at range as i could. Got 3, possibly 4 at range, but then enemies got into the containers. Dropping to pistol i got 2, a third rushed the container i was in but his shot missed me by milimetres (heard it whizz past my ear) enemy 4 got into a neighboring container and tried to get a shot on me from his window through the door of my container, managed to get a snap shot which i thought had missed as i didnt hear a hit call but he pulled back. Enemy 5 tried rushing to post a grenade, but got shot before they could throw. After a pause, another enemy threw a smoke grenade into the container then tried to medic enemy 5.. he didnt make it. Next thing i hear a voice shout "do you want to surrender? Or are we coming in there to get you?" I shouted back "you are welcome to try" just as a BFG got thrown in through the door. Came out with hand raised to see 10 enemies with their guns all pointed at the door. We all fist bumped and commented "well played" before i headed to respawn. Enemy 4 had reappeared by this point and confirmed that i had indeed got a headshot on him. I apologised for headshot and shook his hand but he was cool with it. Respawned and headed to defend our hq for the last 15 mins of the game. End of the day and im packing my kit away, thinking to myself that it was a good day, despite the gear malfunctions and the cheater incident, only to then realise that at some point, i had lost my Runcam Scopecam somewhere on the land... Overall a good day, but severely annoyed at losing the runcam =/

  8. The ultimate solution to not losing reusable grenades is to use disposable grenades Tethering a grenade will get caught with branches etc If you were to put something on a reusable grenade then a ribbon etc would make them easier to spot and pickup

    Joules or FPS?

Then (unless they're CQB with a 0.25g limit or so) they're wasting everybody's time by chronoing at all. They're really chronoing bolt actions and HPA using 0.2g? There's actually a potential legal issue there, given the possibility for guns to Joule creep over the 1.3J / 2.5J airsoft definitions, and become section 5 firearms, or air guns. To be clear, I have no problem with that. Well, I mean, I have a problem with trusting players - again, that's just chrono theatre - but having a handy-dandy chart with weights and fps limits makes practical sense. My issue is really about how sites specify limits. When I see a site saying (e.g.) 1.2J AEG / 1.88J DMR / 2.32J bolt action, that's all I need to know to set up for that site by chronoing at home with the ammo weights that I'll be using. When they say 360fps / 450fps / 500fps, I have to go through the pointless step of converting those numbers to Joules, for no good reason at all. Worse, if they're thinking in terms of 0.2g, then it can lead to them using 0.2g for chronoing, with the aforementioned pointlessness and pitfalls.

Cut the bottle neck of your choosen cleaning fluid bottle, hot glue gun in place once fit is 'good' - use addition cleaning bottles as required to achieve fit, add gafa tape by the roll to ensure there is a prayer it will survive riggers of transport, wrap in half a roll of 'camo' tape and paint with my kids paints, add coats until stays dark if not black..... also yes i need to fix/cover/remove the remaining blue but gods damn that stuff is tough to shift from the rubber grip.

yeah, it wasn't in a hard spot to find and if it'd been an m4 mag or something cheap/generic i wouldn't have bothered. only recognizing it for what it was figured picking up was the right move. normally hand stuff in to the marshalls but game ended before i got the chance. most common is pistol mags/baseplates in woodland which i tend to pick up and hand in purely because most of the time it'd be a pain to find even with retracing your steps. that was my logic, the only way i could guarantee with absolute certainty the person picking it up had good intentions was to pick it up myself. i suppose i can't be sure the person i handed it to was necessarily the original owner, although he did have the appropriate pew and correct amount of "oh thank god" written on his face.

  17. I made a stock for my shotgun using gaffa tape, a cut up bottle of cleaning fluid and the dream it will need to survive the gun bag on my next day out. The reason? Well playing a game with limits and rules i am not allowed stockless shotguns or rather 'tactical' shotguns, (but then everything is tactical....) so a plan was formed and with a causual glance it looks ok. (Will throw a pic up later) Rude not to once you have the know how, they no doubt look great on pew given how fab they look off.

SSPKali pretty much answered this already. I can say that if you want to use a tracer unit, this kind of build can be really effective as you can tuck the tracer into the handguard and avoid that extra 3-4 inches of length. I’ve done that with my Angrygun mcmr and acetech blaster.

  21. I duno about CQB being the best I do enjoy it a lot especally compared to my day at section 8 crawling past tree after tree but I had a really good time up at Fife War Games a mix of buildings and outdoors and the game modes were just simple and fun something the depot seem the struggle with. A simple zombie mode made some extremely tense shoot outs and when I was the zombie I just walked in to a hail of bbs to force the survivors to change position instead of camping. Felt pretty cool to just tank bbs and 20 seconds later continue walking like nothing had happened no wonder people cheat so much. Revenge for your endless BFG usage. Looking forward to more carnage to come soon.

That is a pickle, isn't it? I've been to sites with a strict[*] "don't touch anything that doesn't belong to you" rule, but that's a great way of ensuring that the only people picking up an item will be its owner, a marshal, or a thief - and the last two aren't necessarily mutually exclusive. If there's a marshal in sight, I tend to wave them over, or pick it up and take it right to them, holding it out conspicuously. If not, it's a bit of a bind: I know that I'm not going to nick it, but if it's sitting in a place where I could, then somebody less ethical could too. Even moving something a little to a more or less conspicuous location can be a problem. I was briefly convinced that I'd had a TRMR nicked at a "leave it where it is" site, when some helpful chap had just lifted it off the floor and put it up on a shelf, exactly where I wasn't looking for it. 🙄 [*] Strict in the sense that they say it, but then a lot of sites say a lot of stuff that they don't really mean.

  27. I bought it because of the consistency; I was fed up with the inconsistency of normal gas pistols and their tendency to vent whenever they felt like it. Even after upgrading it (wiring, bushings, spring etc etc), the low power and the sheer lack of fun annoyed me so I switched to a CO2 pistol, which really is great fun.

    Joules or FPS?

I get both sides of the argument here and I understand why some sites just use fps and ask the player what BB weight they are using. One of my sites does this and then they just compare the fps speed with the bb weight. If you have 100 players checking in then the last thing you want is the chrono time to take forever. Our sport relies on honesty but let's face it you will get those players who will inevitably tell porkies coz they consider themselves entitled. At least I know I'm being honest and that's what matters.

  30. To adapt the 40mike to what exactly? I'm planning to do this in a Matrix EGLM tube along the inside of the tube, using it with 40mikes and master mikes. Going to wire it up to the trigger on the GL too, you'll have to hold it down until all BBs have exited the tunnel in an orderly fashion however to keep it lit.

nope, any gear i have is either in the car or on my person. sure if you drop mags left right and centre like your an extra in john wick and throw bfg's round every corner you're gonna lost/have pinched gear eventually. recall once stumbling across a gbb vector mag in a building once, picked it up cos i figured it was the only way to be sure some thieving bugger didn't. you've never seen such a look of relief as its owner when he found me after the game.

  32. Yowch. Opinions vary, wildly. They sell a lot of blue-and-orange tat, some of it with plastic gearboxes good only for backyard plinking. However, they also sell some of the exact same RIFs as you'll get anywhere else, and they can sometimes be cheaper. I've bought from them a couple of times, but I knew exactly what I wanted, and why, and had done the sums on it. They used to do a secret discount if you left something in your basket for 24 hours, but I didn't get offered that the last time I tried it - so went elsewhere. Their videos review by Sweaty Moobs Dom are hilarious, but not informative: they always lie about energy levels, and frequently show fps number using 0.12g BBs. There's also some risk of being sent a returned gun being resold as "new". They turn over a huge amount of stock, a lot of it flogged to nose-pickers, or drunken regret purchases. Approach with considerable caution, and don't buy anything from them that you can't also find listed at a more serious site like PatrolBase.

    Joules or FPS?

It's not about accuracy, or even about cheating the chrono, it's about it being the most useful number given the vast range of BB weights being used by players. Simply put, if a site says "350fps", then you'll have to convert to Joules and then back to the fps for whatever weirdo weight of BBs that you're using. Almost nobody (in woodland) will be chronoing with an actual 350fps limit, and no (woodland) site should be using 0.2g BBs at the chrono. So let's just skip that first step, and tell us the Joules number.

I'd recommend looking into stoic philosophy, and focusing on mindfulness meditation - meditation sounds like a scary word if you've never done it, but it comes in many forms - it doesn't just mean sitting there, legs crossed, going hmmmmmm to yourself, you can practice mindful meditation at any point anywhere.

    Joules or FPS?

Joules. Hands down, no contest. I'm pretty sure I could chrono my HPA guns on .2s, then watch the joule creep as I use the proper weights I like. I imagine my VSR would probably be closer to 3J if I chronoed to 500fps on .2s and then swapped out to .48s that it needs to perform to its best. I might try this and chrono at some point, just to see what the results would be. At the end of the day, the energy is what impacts and hurts. FPS by itself is meaningless.

  38. A quick and nasty print to test fitment - 0.30 layer height (accidentally left the upper and lower skin thickness at 0.12 which also doesn't help) and a very low infill leaving a rough finish. Fitment was damned near perfect - just needed the hinge holes opening up a little and a relief hole drilled for the gearbox screw that protrudes a little. Test print was done in two halves then glued - I'm considering creating a channel for a bent steel rod to be sandwiched between the halves for reinforcement before epoxying them together. The final print would be done at 100% infill with a much smaller layer height (around 0.12mm) to smooth things out. Haven't worked out the rear (sliding) bit yet - probably an aluminium tube and 3D printed bushing and stock pad. I'll probably not bother with a sprung button mechanism, rather glue the metal button in place and have it non-folding. Real Steel: Yes, it's ugly. But I like it. Very popular with French and German Police forces - they also use them on MP5s and I've never seen one on an Airsoft gun.

  42. I put it down to Youtubers who spunk £1000's into a silverback or VSR, and then edit gameplay to make it look like they shoot lasers, rather than the truth of sitting in a bush, firing 10 rounds to hit the target, then spend the afternoon in the safe zone wondering why it's not working. People watch it, buy a novitwat or cyma/well/jg and a scope and wonder why they're not doing it, and sell it after 2 games.

  47. Why so many if you don't know they work yet? I mean, it's your money but... More often than not it's misinformed people that think they have to fire at exactly 350fps (you don't) and that the groupings aren't just lack of ability (it usually is) or ignoring physics (small plastic balls, outdoors, breezes - go figure). Nobody NEEDS to spend a crapping fortune upgrading their TM recoil. Any gun that costs £400+ should be more than capable on the field, if it isn't maybe it's the player not the gun. Or else you bought a shit gun without bothering to do any research. With regards to the reviews you've seen, if they are indeed mostly US based then you need to remember that they usually run at much higher FPS limits. As most guns are built for the Asian market (especially Tokyo Marui) they aren't set up for high power and often don't stand up well to the rigours of 400+ FPS full auto use. Hence they tend to prefer brands that DO work well in that way and will argue that G&G, TM etc are all garbage that need to be ripped apart and rebuilt with pig iron to be decent.

Please refrain from posting about your all singing and dancing sales, or posting repetitively in hope of gaining more sales. It'll just get deleted so you're wasting time for the both of us. A topic with a link to your website and a description about why players might wish to do business with you is absolutely no problem. Even better if you can come back to the forum and answer any questions that might be posted in your topic. Your own topic full of copy and pasted marketing spiel will get no replies (before it's deleted) and it won't look great on you. As a forum with very little income, we can appreciate times may be tough at the moment, but we have to keep the rules the same for everyone, it is only fair. Apologies for the grumpy message but thanks for reading
