  2. Got my handguard painted and setup today; It's got a 45mm spacer on the end, but it's a much better fit when I ready it on my shoulder with the stock 15mm one so I went back to that. I'm also waiting on another RAMP and a 2.5mm ModButton to go with/behind the MAWL on top like this: And the ICS MARS lower reciever (stuck in customs for 19 days today..) Changing the torch on the side to arisaka mount, but needs some work:

  4. You should watch the video above if you haven't. All be it 0.2 travels faster out the muzzle they don't hold the momentum. The initial speed of a heavier weight BBs are slower but over a distance it keeps that velocity so there's very little difference in time to target over a distance at weights below 0.28g.

    Sub forum idea...

Good shout. The ideas i have don't really have anything in common with traditional FPS online games as A. They are old and played to death and B. Like you said would likely not work as intended. That's the idea... if people just share ideas then individuals can take as little or as much and transform it to work for them. I think your right in saying if a game organiser cant tweak a rule set or objective etc to fit their site then they probably aren't going to do well designing a game from the ground up. I'm going to write up the ideas I currently have and start a topic on it. If any admin decide that a sub forum would be a good idea (mainly so each submission can be its own topic so you don't have to scroll through pages of threads on one topic to find new games) then it can be moved to that forum. Thanks for your input guys I may be a noob to the sport but I'd like to bring something to it.

  10. Today was an absolutely fantastic day with many successes at Worthing Airsoft. We played part of the site that is often neglected and it was super fun. I went with the 1.1J spring VSR so I had no MED (I was called out in the safety brief so people wouldn't whine too much when I shot them up close) and it was a really satisfying day. So many great shots and stealthy moments. Our small sniper element of 3 snipers and one AEG guy managed to hold one of the three bases with the help of a group of rental kids who held their ground against large numbers of way more experienced airsofters for the whole game. Never underestimate rental kiddies! Even though we fell at the end because they just overwhelmed us by pushing us with way more people than we could take out, it was an absolutely cracking game. Made me wonder what the rest of our team was doing Not only that, but one of my good friends at the site has recently picked up a TM VSR project gun (it was broken) for himself and got a local gun tech to upgrade and fix it. Took it out last skirmish day and didn't see much success, so he switched back to an AEG. Today he took it out again and asked if he could follow me around the site to learn how to do the sniper role properly and I said of course he could. He said he'd probably just run it in the morning and then switch out to his AEG again at lunch, but as lunch came and went, he took the VSR out for the afternoon as well as he had so much fun with it in the morning. Said that it felt great to play and was super satisfying to use a BASR, despite less "action". The only detractor for the day was that there was absolutely rampant non-hit taking. Marshalls had to pull up a lot of people on it and I had a lot of instances where I hit someone, they react to the shot and then run away or go to ground. I never understand people who get hit by a single BB out of nowhere with no audible sound queue, and then try and brush it off as "nah, that didn't hit me." If that happens, it's probably a sniper who is watching you through a scope and can see their BB bouncing off your love handles.

  12. So did my first day playing Airsoft today over at Airsoft Plantation. Went with a friend who turns out has been going for some time! Mostly had a good time, absolutely shattered though! Don't think my body has moved like that (short running bursts, kneeling down, bending round corners etc) for around 2 years. THINK I mostly kept up with the pace, there were a few times I was happy to stay back a bit lol. As a first timer, my biggest challenge was knowing the map. Marshalls explained the game and where we needed to go etc, but not knowing where they are, meant I was just following others around quite a bit. Think once ive been there a few more times, ill start to get to know where everything is and have more of a equal playing field to the regulars. (Maybe i should have asked the marsalls for a map or something...). Did feel guilty at one point as a nade went off which I thought was 7-8 meters away (where they say anyone within 5m is hit), but marshall called me out to say it hit me, happily took the hit without question, just didnt want to come across as cheating at all. Overall I enjoyed myself and can only see it getting better, Health Stats: Fat Burn Minutes: 217 (119-140bpm) Cardio Minutes: 182 (141-167bpm) Peak Heart Rate: 155bpm Calories Burnt: 4,324

  13. In a word, great. My Son and I went to Tower Airsoft in Billericay for what was our first outdoor skirmish. There were only 30 players and nearly half of those were one team so it was the rest of us against them. If anyone from Team Sasquatch is reading, thank you. You guys really made the day go well for me and my Son. The games were reasonably brief and a mix of attack and defend. The turnaround time in the morning was a little slow but the pace picked up in the afternoon, and by the finish I was certainly done for the day. Everyone took their hits and spirits were high all day. Marshalling was good, I can see why AP have got the reputation they have. The highlight for me though was the fact that both site owners made a point of seeking out my Son to speak to him and make sure he was enjoying himself. As a parent it always annoys me when people ignore kids and speak to us like they're not there. These guys walked straight past me to speak to him, absolutely brilliant. We shall be back to Tower and will be giving Plantation a go as well. Once I've fully recovered. 😄

  15. I was considering jumping to .36s in my 1.1J builds as I don't fire that often and my hop ups could easily handle them, then I looked at the price jump and said "hell no!" .36s are where ammo starts getting pricey.
    1 point
  16. Getting your hop spot on can be an exercise in tiny adjustments, and going back and forth to get the perfect pressure. That said, I find it easier to get heavier BBs dialled in and would agree that 0.28g should be your default choice until you find something that works better, and which is affordable depending on your budget and trigger happiniess. I run 0.28g in AEG primaries, 0.32g in a DMR (and should really be running heavier, but there's quite a jump in price to 0.36g), and 0.25g in an MP5K used as a DMR/sniper secondary which is generally used at shorter ranges. The only way to find out what your particular toys prefer is to try it and see.

  17. The unfortunate truth is that BB weight is a very empirical thing. You need to experiment with what works for you. That said, these are my two cents: I generally run .32s in all my 1.1J builds. However, a normal rifle to me is a GBBR or a 1.1J sniper build, so I'm not exactly spamming the trigger with my 35rd magazines. I think I usually go through maybe 400 - 500 BBs in a game day if I'm using my m21, which has the largest magazines of my guns at a whopping 70rds! I'd echo .28s as the overall best value for regular AEG usage and all-around usefulness. Will you gain a tiny bit more range and consistency with heavier BBs? Sure, but you can also just take two steps forward or arc the gun slightly. It's generally not worth the cost to upgrade to .32s or heavier if you're going through a lot of them each game day.

As a secondary to the t10 in game. I'd say it's too big, it's an smg sized primary and I'd guess the only difference between the t6 and mod 1 would be the lower for different magazines. If you wanted an smg as in indoor smg sized piece then the t6 would share mags with the t10. Though I'd also guess that the t6 is only 4" shorter than the t10, if the T relates to series and the number is linked the the barrel length.

  20. Yup 😁 For AEG users 0.28 is the most common weight and best performance vs price.

    Sub forum idea...

Just go for it and create a thread. Game formats can work well or badly depending on venue, the underlying rules and the people playing - including whether they listen or don’t The worst thing to do is to pick an online game and try to play those rules - two reasons 1) It works online due to the mechanics of a computer controlled game 2) Not everyone has played that game, let alone understood the format rules & if I played “Domination” in one game a decade ago it could be very different rules to “Domination” in last weeks top game of the year But outline a very rough plan or a fully detailed rule set and the organisers on another site can apply it to their site with any tweaks to the rules. If they can’t work whether a game and rule set will need tweaking for their venue* and players then they can’t really design one from scratch * We had a game plan set for an event in Drakelow tunnels, the game was cancelled. A few years later we ran the ‘same’ game plan at a much smaller urban site on a smaller scale with a few tweaks to each mission to fit the site and number of players It’s also great fun to experiment with rules - it’s one of the things we have done many times. If it doesn’t work then change it (ideally not mid game, but that can be possible). Every one of our early games was made up of either ripped off rules & missions from other organisers, or a variation that we had a twist to try out.

What obscure information did you find to make you want an Inokatsu??? You're unlikely to find one, even less likely to find extra mags and even less likely to find spares... Read a bit of the forum for views on first toys to get 👍

They are very rare especially in this country. Your best bet is to get one imported from Asia. As a new person to Airsoft I would recommend getting an AEG rather then a gas gun.

    Airsoft in backgarden

We shall continue to agree to disagree until there is case law I do however have the Home Office statement on Magfed paintball guns - that by being a low power air weapon renders them a firearm and excludes from being an Imitation or Realistic Imitation - they of course qualify that as their interpretation at that time until subject to being tested in court. This does contradict the Association of Chief Constables earlier fact finding visit to a magfed paintball retailer some years before where their interpretation was that everything in stock could be a RIF (including the non magfed classic A5s etc) I’ll say that Home Office guidance being newer and higher up the food chain trumps the Chief Constables, but all of them acknowledge that a court would carry the clout - and it’s clear that interpretation can be from the point of view of the individual concerned along with their fine comb crawling of the legislation I’m very happy to continue to disagree without a case proving either way https://m.facebook.com/UKPSF/posts/532643633518379 https://p8ntballer-forums.com/threads/paintball-and-the-law.171875/post-1560782

  31. I dropped down the investigative rabbit hole and found Lonex 200rd mid caps at less than a tenner each, when bought in a 6 bundle. They seem pretty good from the few reviews I've seen. So a couple of options there!

  32. If you got a battery that's too big then you just have to return/sell it and get one that does. More research needed before purchasing 👍 Note: 11.1v is not recommended for most AEGs unless specified by the manufacturer so check that.

As far as upgraded TM ngrs, my first up grade was a nice barrel. A nice barrel will always last and is a great non intrusive addition to any gun. I stuck a nice Prometheus 6.03 in mine. As far as what it did took the stock 280fps to 315fps . Not much added in range/accuracy but the little extra punch at range is a bonus. Several years later the power had dropped over time so delved in deeper but the barrel as an initial upgrade you can't really go wrong.

    First night game

I am going to be brutally honest. Do not expect much. In my personal opinion. Airsoft at night, unless you have gucci nods. It's shit. Yeah you can sneak around for a bit and its fun enough if you are in a urban site that is actually well lit. So you can use the new shadows to go ninja. On sites where its just dark and you have to move by torch. Its generally really shit. In woodland, meh you will spend more time tripping over stuff or walking into shit than actually shooting. THEN when you do actually try and shoot something. You cannot tell what is hitting what, unless you want tracers. You will think you hit someone, you will be sure of it. You will get frustrated and then head back to bed for an early rise the following day. Sorry.

  50. I'd like to start off this thread by saying that the pistols, rifles and shotguns that I recommend are, and always will be, from my own experience of using them and by popular opinion from regular users on here, other forums and other reputable sources. This thread will also be updated over time. The amount of threads I keep seeing about this subject literally popping up every other week is getting a tad bit annoying, so, I figured I'd create this thread to save people from repeating themselves. So, you're a new player looking for a decent gun hmm? You have a set budget for a gun that will be suitable for skirmishing and won't break anytime soon. If you have a budget of £20 - £60, these guns will do just fine. Primarily gas and spring. - Any Double Eagle/AGM single-shot shotgun: These things have good range with .25g BB's and don't shoot above site limits, for around £30 you can't go wrong. Bison shotguns are a good option if you prefer a different look. - Any Double Eagle tri-shot shotgun: Like the single-shot shotguns, these also have good range but cost slightly more (around £50.) Do not purchase the Marui tri-shots new because, personally, the quality is on par with the Double Eagle tri-shots, not worth above £100. Cyma make metal tri-shot shotguns with folding stocks, full stocks, stockless and all metal or polymer for under or a bit over £100 depending on the model. G&P shotguns are outdated and overpriced, avoid. - ASG, KJWorks, HFC MK23: Absolutely the best gas pistol for under £70, very efficient, accurate and cheap to buy. The included 'silencer' will increase the FPS, try to find the Marui silencer to make it deadly silent. - Cyma AEP's: Like the MK23, these AEPs are excellent for the money, reliable gearboxes, some upgrade options out there on sites such as Eagle6 and Firesupport, magazines are very cheap, LiPo kits are also available and are a worthy upgrade. - HFC gas pistols: These are OK for around £30, average accuracy and gas efficiency, plastics used aren't great BUT the pistols are rugged enough for skirmishing, but they won't stand up to long-term use, consider saving up for the MK23. If you have a budget of £60 - £100, this is an ok budget for a gun. - KJWorks P226, Glocks, M9s and 1911s: These guns are absolutely solid, will last a long time if taken care of. Good kick, average gas efficiency due to metal construction, fully Marui compatible. These are capable of using Co2, but is strongly advised due to inconsistent FPS. Magazines are poor quality and WILL leak during your ownership, replacing them with Marui magazines is advised. The paint that is used is very easily chipped. - WE Glocks, P226, M9s, XDMs and PX4's: Like KJWorks pistols, these pistols are very solid performers and are reliable, average gas efficiency and good range. Avoid purchasing second hand, these pistols are usually very well used in their lifetime, check the condition of the pistol before considering purchasing. The Glocks are slightly fatter than the real thing, so as such, they do not fit most plasic holsters, either trim the holster or purchase an adjustable cloth holster. The paint on the pistols is slightly better than the KJWorks, but will still easily be scratched off. - ASG Dan Wesson revolvers: These guns are reliable, but have no hop up, so they lack range. Only capable of holding 6 rounds, these are not suitable for skirmishing due to the lack of range and the inconsistent FPS. Good, realistic backyard plinkers for collectors. - JG Skorpion, Mac 10: These are very reliable and rugged AEP's, clones of the Marui so plenty of upgrade options and magazines online from sites such as Eagle6. You will be outgunned by regular AEG's such as Combat Machines however due to the small gearbox and weak motor. Will make a decent side arm if using a high-capacity magazine. - Well R4 & R2: Decent AEP's, on par with JG. Clones of the Marui, so upgrade options are available. The plastic Well use for the AEPs are very poor, and will shatter under heavy use. The R4's magazine release will snap if used a lot, so take care. Please consider the JG over the Well if possible. If you have a set budget from £100 - £200, the options are essentially endless. This is the budget you need for a good reliable gun. Spring guns aren't included on this list as you'll end up spending more than you'll realise when you end up upgrading them. AEGS: - Any: G&G Combat Machines/GC16, Cyma AK's/Mp5's/M14's, JG G36/AUG/AK's/G3s, ICS M4's/Mp5's(Sportline)/AK's/G33/Sigs/Mx5's, Classic Army Mp5's/M4's/AK's/P90, SRC G36's, ASG Sten-gun/MP40/MP44/AUGs(JG)/M14(Cyma), APS AK's, King Arms P90 and D-Boys KAC/AK's. Pistols: - Any: Tokyo Marui gbb pistols! Their Hi-capas, Glocks, M9's and 1911's have the most after market parts. KWA/KSC pistols are also very good, the Glocks are extremely robust apart from the full auto versions due to their weak fire selector. Marui pistols will work fine on propane/green gas, though I wouldn't recommend using propane/green gas in them on warm days, stick to HFC gas instead. KWA/KSC gbb's have inferior hop up designs, as the 'nub' that is used to apply pressure is just a tiny ball bearing, whereas in the Marui pistols, they use VSR buckings and regular nubs. "Why aren't sniper rifles/DMR's included?" . Spring guns aren't included on this list as you'll end up spending more than you realise when you start upgrading them to 'outperform everyone on the field'. DMR's are just AEG's; put an oversized scope on an unweildy rifle and you've got a DMR. If you have a set budget above £200 to £300, any AEG will do. Consider Krytac AEG's as they're very well shimmed and have excellent air compression. If you like realism, try gas blowback rifles such as WE/GHK/KJWorks, the WE's will definitely require upgrading for long-term use, also consider HPA use for consistency (or Tippman M4's). If you don't like the idea of buying gas but still want the realism, consider the Marui recoil shock series or CTW's. Hope this helps!
