Standard Comparison Question, AEG
Druid799 and one other reacted to Speedbird_666 for a topic
I would lean (slightly) towards the G&G* - only because the quality of the receiver plastic is better than the others. There is nothing remarkable about it internally, but they get the job done. The inner barrel is pretty poor though - but you can upgrade that later. The Specna has a better internal specification - better barrel, rotary hop, QD gearbox spring etc - It's also available in a plethora of colour and rail configurations. A decent option for a new player . The Core series that I've handled in the past felt OK in the hands, but not quite as nice as the G&G. The Valken is made by SRC - I wouldn't touch one personally. Any starter gun would benefit from an upgraded inner barrel (ZCI is a good, cheap option), hop rubber/nub and a High-Torque motor. You'll get decent performance that will not leave you feeling out-gunned by those with higher-end stuff. * Edit I would only consider the Raider 2.0 in G&Gs Combat Machine lineup - the rest are waaaay too expensive for what you actually get. G&G have really jacked up their prices in recent years, and once you move past the 2.0 the prices rise steeply for very little in return. I would not recommend any of their ETU-equipped guns unless you are happy to drop money on replacement electronics.2 points -

you say that, but most places charge to refill a dive tank. damn capitalists.......2 points -
Hpa dmr all the way . So quiet and single fire only . It's the usual argument here of blame the equipment and tools not the users ..... Just play the game . Most sites do have rof and of people get caught they are told to single only U will always get the nobhead that mag dumps out of a bush with any gun he has2 points

What have you made?
Druid799 and one other reacted to HuttArmouries for a topic
Grenade launcher is progressing well. Hand forged some barrel bands to lock everthign in place and going to build the trigger mech and a grip in behind it. Just waiting for a slightly longer hose to arrives so I can have the co2 hlder and regulator further back so its not sticking out infront of the grenade launcher. Will waste a tiny bit more gas but will make it nicer to handle and look at. As you can probably see my design has pivoted more towards a gp25 style thing as its simply easier to make.2 points -

A little update. Had my first game today at Skirmish Exeter and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The sunshine helped but the heat got to people and by the end we'd lost half the players. Lessons learned My helmet setup worked well. The Bolle X800's didn't fog even with sweat dripping down the inside. I'm really glad I got back into running a few months ago. If I hadn't I think today would have killed me. I need a sight riser. Watch out for people lurking in shadows Eyes in the sides and back of my head would be helpful. I wish I'd had the chance to zero my sight after the spring change Need a better dump pouch The Double Eagle performed well. Got enough kills to make me happy. Just a strange battery problem which lost me the last hour of the day. Great bunch of players. The day felt friendly, well organised and run. All in a great day.1 point

A spare bolt (or at least a complete nozzle) is a good start. Like you say feed nozzles and springs are the weak point and quite easy to change out. I would add in a TM hop rubber and tools to change it. Rare that it would be trashed during a game but would make it U/S if it does. Mag feed lips and gas router. Again rare to have an issue but could leave you a mag down (depends how many you have already!) Bit more of a faff to change in the field. With all these things make sure you are confident in diagnosing an issue and fixing it with minimum faffing. You will have some downtime but you probably don't want to spend it fixing stuff!1 point -

I personally find any one that uses a homophobic Slur in this context disgraceful and further it doesnβt belong in todayβs society. There is a fine line between humour and being offensive, what friends call each other in jest is another thing. I would love a hpa rif only because air is free.1 point -

Eulenspiegel reacted to alxndrhll for a topic
Having read my initial post back I could have been clearer. The 'offensive' bit I was refering to was the phrase we agree is no longer acceptable. The dipping into the identification subject was, in my opinion, inappropriate and unneccesary within the topic of conversation. I felt the conversation was starting to go in an inappropriate direction, explained why, and left it at that. I was very concious of not pointing out that I was offended, and was simply raising that it may not reflect well. If you're happy to accept that it may not reflect well, and think the humour is worth it, then as you were. I won't waste my time trying to convince anyone that they should consider what they think is humour could be offensive to others. I'm a straight white British male (as imagine the vast majority of the folks that make up this forum are), I'm/we're fortunate to not have to deal with that sort of stuff on a daily basis. As expected the term snowflake has now been thrown in there, so that's good. I'm more than aware of the general demographic for airsoft, alongside the general demographic for forums so I can't say I'm surprised by the reaction of being challenged on it. I agree that it is all subjective, what isn't subjective is that if it hadn't been said at all then there would have been no risk of offending anyone. I won't drag it out any further, I've said what I wanted to say and I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to give a reasoned response so I felt I should do the same.1 point -
Nice gun but shame that a giant caramac bar melted all over it. Lol π Regards1 point

Totally agree calling someone a fag is no longer acceptable, those days are gone and that kind of language and behaviour should no longer exist but you REALLY need to lighten up mate , when you start getting βoffendedβ by very slightly non PC humour your setting your self up to be ridiculed . What one person finds βoffensiveβ the next person may not , or even if someone may be incredibly offended by something yet the next person is far from offended by it . Itβs all subjective , in the end when society as a whole and not just a small group decide something is no longer acceptable then it can be regulated not before . Freedom of speech in its purest form is offending someone but not attacking them . Iβll leave the final word to one of Britainβs greatest gay men that ever was .1 point

Marui Man
GeorgePlaysAirsoft reacted to Algy for a topic
To be fair, its's an ad for toy guns, and the guy playing Marui Man isn't a professional actor, he's a Japanese gun nut/journalist. Although he somehow managed to get bit parts in Terminator 2 (Mall Employee Shot by T-1000) and True Lies (Japanese Party Goer in the last scene), which is pretty cool. https://anidb.net/creator/483431 point -

It may well be the bucking needs to bed in a bit before it'll 'play nice' with .32s. Might worth intermitently dipping back to .32s every thousand rounds or so to see... though the more expedient way (if .32s are what you want to use) would be to play around with different nubs/remove some material from the nub currently being used in Monkman's case. I'd never had any issues with .32s with mine, but admittedly my G&G green is anything but fresh out of the packet, I dread to think how many rounds that thing has seen. G&G may have also changed the design/material slightly since I picked mine up, but I feel like that'd be something plenty of folks would pick up on had that been the case given how many folks use them in a veriety of RIFs. Nevertheless, good to hear that shots aren't hooking anymore.1 point

I dare say it's safe to say this thread has run its course, before we start (or continue) to dip into offending people (be that intentionally, or unintentionally). More than happy to get flamed to kingdom come for it, but I don't think the sexuality/gender/indentification is particularly appropriate. If you're genuinely confused by it, there are plenty of great resources to become better informed.1 point

Well that was quite interesting today... MTW was overhopping 0.3 & 0.32's... Have a G&G Green in the Pheonix hop and firefly flat nub. I bought a bottle of 0.4's yesterday and tried them today...WOW the range was amazing!! I was generally surprised. Just need to source large amounts of 0.4 of above...more than the standard 1000 bb bottles. Any know of or recommend large quantity of 0.4 Bb's? **For giggles ran my G&G drum mag as well for one game, was fun...full auto a couple of times, but mainly single shot and never having to reload..1 point

Sorry, can't help. Those are far out of my comfort zone to spend on toys. CYMA, JG, SpecnaArms etc. are the go-to for best price/performance ratio.1 point

Airsoft Publications
KarlosM15 reacted to Cannonfodder for a topic
Yes 2. I've never read Airsoft Action so I won't comment on that. AI I would touch with a bargepole as its mostly adverts and the "articles" were poorly written, often copied straight from Wikipedia or forums (often complete with typos and spelling mistakes). Also every review was more like a glorified ad with all products being given high marks, no matter what. For example a CA AK arrived for their review dead out of the box, but was still given 4/5 stars. In fact the only time I've seen AI give a remotely honest review was when the G&G L85 was released. It wasn't favourable and the next issue they published a retraction after the shop got in contact with them On a side note I've also personally seen some very unsporting behavior from their staff while playing so as far as I'm concerned they can fuck right off1 point -

Old is Gold... Current status of the MWS based KAC MRE railed Delta rifle. Picked up a clone SF M600B as a place holder until I can get something suitably vintage, and bought an extremely cheap and very plasticity PEQ-2 battery box! (It was very shiny and just awful) π Managed to make it look somewhat decent with some Khaki Krylon and again weathered using some thinners. Would like to replace it with a G&P PEQ-2 but they are extremely hard to find! Regardless I think it looks the part and I'm loving how this thing has turned out. With the Eotech zero'd in its performing very well indeed. I would certainly consider building another retro rifle maybe something with a carry handle and plastic furniture. Who knows!? A full weekend of airsoft at the end of the month at @ucapairsoft Green Ops and I can't bloody wait, its been too long! π1 point

Is it bad that I *love* my MWS?! I was getting so bored of sewing machine sounding AEGs which pretty much performed like every other one before it or after. TM's MWS made it fun again. It made every 'kill' a challenge, every shot a smidgen of adrenaline and put in a degree of unpredictability. And, because it was from those great bunch of lads in Japan, it was all put together beautifully. Without that MWS purchase, I genuinely could have seen me falling out of love with this hobby and I am glad I took the leap.1 point
