Iβve always been of the opinion(yes I know my point of view on peopleβs opinions is well known!π©π)is field craft will always win what ever your wearing , obviously if your in camo your on to a good starting point but even if your wearing the perfect gillie suit for the environment if your stomping around Making noise and obvious movements then your going to get bumped where as the guy in desert camo who Fully understands the principles of field craft will win every time .2 points

depends how far you want to take that statement as to wether or not i'd agree. yes you have a point that if you know what you're doing in terms of sneakyness you can bypass the deficiencies of a particular pattern. the patterns designed pre-90's for a european theatre of war (ie germany) which have similar enough climate to the uk that the forest patterns match up nicely compared to those designed for the more modern conflicts we're seeing in the middle east. add in the cheap milsurp prices and that's why they're popular. of course folk can wear what they like to the airsoft fashion show, and folks wearing mtp are doing so for the same reasons i'm wearing digiflora- because it's close enough and we like it, rather than being the perfect choice for the environment. besides it's all academic when you get shot by someone in a deadpool onsie2 points -

Please note that strictly legally speaking there are no βabandonedβ locations. (There are places that are disused, but they belong to someone and are typically held by a developer or a landowner waiting for the right time to come for development) If you play on one of them then you would be trespassing and potentially committing a firearms offence due to not having permission. Unusual locations like this are occasionally used by established sites & organisers - either as one off games or a site is established until the landowner / developer uses it2 points -
But not all countries have to deal with political dissidents though.2 points

Finally got my pistol assembled and mounted the scope to my g3 G3 is a lct g3a4 firing 435 fps and mechanically locked to semi with a warfet and maple leaf hop rubber. Scope is a hensoldt 4x24 s2 with aftermarket illuminator. Glock is a tm glock 18c with detonator cobra slide kit (absolute MF to install) detonator tti sights (required modifications to the slide for some stupid reason), gaurder extended slide and mag releases, gaurder lightweight bbu and ml crazyjet barrel and hop. Both are almost finished but not quite, waiting on a tti magwell and new trigger for the glock and a llm1 and harris bipod for the g3.2 points -

Hi there, essentially airsoft doesn't work that way here. All sites are run by a company who hold the correct insurance etc. You can of course form teams with your friends or find people who attend a site you're interested in going to online etc and arrange to meet up with them. Alternatively you can go by yourself and just start chatting to people when you get there. In regards to purchasing a non-two tone gun, you'll need to speak with your local site about UKARA (there are other insurances etc you can get but most people don't go that route). You'll likely need to rent for at least three games though.2 points -

For an gnu that rare, with that perfect Halford's Own paintjob, and, unless God allows my eyes to be deceived, set of wondrous extras; the chap obviously states collection only. I can only hope that Securicor or Group 4 are insured well enough to carry such an article. There's fuck all chance of anyone driving halfway across the country for it, that's for sure.2 points -

Most camo printing pretty much looks like this (that I've ever seen). If you've ever said 'X does not work in Y wide-range multitude of environments' sorry you just did little other than prove you don't actually know much about camo patterns, using camouflage, fieldcraft and understanding terrains. DPM has a load of black and light tan in it (highly contradictory, not without reason but still not ideal), it's a camo designed in the 1960s when they had incredibly limited design and printing technologies compared to now. It can be fine in very dark environments, but by modern standards it is a poor camo pattern and colourway. Same applies for many of the iconic old pre-2000 camos that people get weirdly sentimental over as if nothing could've been made that's better since then. Basically the same mentality as people who cling to NiMh batteries.1 point -
You're actually not the first to recommend Survival, so I had a look on the website and they don't have any half-day slots available on weekends, is a full-day usually the done thing? I want to try asap so I may just take the plunge and do either Sunday 25th, or Sunday 2nd for a full day. What sort of guns are they going to loan me if I hire one? Two-tone nerf vortex? π1 point

Hi! Yes as of this time, I have not come across a holistically good bucking that can outperform AND outlast the original TM bucking. Youβre right on there, in a GBB your dealing with expanding volumes, temperature and pressure changes. In an AEG, as long as that motor pulls your stored energy (spring) back youβre getting a repeatable output.1 point

Find a airsoft site near you and rent a AEG 3 times before you buy anything. Then when you do make sure you get good eye pro and a good make gun such as a G&G or Cyma. Just get two tone if you dont have Ukara yet, and cant wait. In airsoft the only thing that matters to win is the performance of gun and your playing ability having it look exactly like HK416 will not make it work like one.1 point -
Welcome to the Forum and the sport. Can't add anything other than the advice you've already been given regarding buying a two-tone π€’ This is a great place to get advice from some very experienced players, so as you (hopefully) get into it, don't be afraid to come on here and ask questions. It's helped me a lot. So again, welcome, wear sensible footwear, don't skimp on eye-pro (those two should be at the top of your purchasing list imo before a RIF) call your hits and, above all, have fun. Oh, and be sure to spend a few last quality moments with your bank balance. You'll soon be parting ways π1 point

Gg Ump

Iirc g&g ump are only compatible with g&g and classic army mags. I had the classic army UMP which is a clone of the g&g as my first aeg, loved it to bits. Get the g&g qd suppressor for the ump, makes it super quiet! Only criticism was the stock is a bit big and awkward but other than that, a very solid aeg.1 point -

Lonex BAW system - can be had for Β£200. It's a genuine 'recoil' system, but doesn't have a bolt-stop mechanism. No Idea how good it actually is - but I've had a couple non-recoil Lonex AEGs and they are decent shooters.1 point -

Today was my designated tinkering day with the MWS before my first post-lockdown game next Sunday at Spartan Woodland, Bristol. I have set the MWS up with all stock bolt, nozzle and valve (NOTE: I have taken 0.15mm off the back of the valve to up the output to about 10fps). Running 0.30g BBs through a CrazyJet 250mm barrel, Modify tan bucking and Laylax hop arm. The shed was a balmy 13degC (or there abouts) and the mags and gas were all at ambient temperature. I gave each mag a 5sec fill, in bursts of 1s and then left for 5mins to let the temp settle. Each gas was given 5 shots over the chrono, with 1s gaps. I often finished up with some full auto to check on cool-down. ***All FPS given as 0.20g BB equivalents*** Nuprol WHITE = 330fps. Still very snappy shooting and not much cool down after 20rd full auto! Nuprol GREEN = 340fps. Benchmark for regular "green" gas. Does cool down a bit. Nuprol RED = 395fps. Eek, well over the limit so I would keep for days when the temps are in single digits. Abbey Vertex Predator = 341fps. Apparently a "powerful gas for heavy weapons" - or just another green gas in an orange can ASG Ultrair = 340fps. Pretty much the same as any other green gas, but Patrolbase have a "Two for Β£10" offer so I have 8 cans of the damn stuff! Interesting that the difference in Nuprol WHITE and GREEN is only 10fps. I purchased that can for an old TM MP7 I had that (with a tight bore barrel) was WAAAAY too hot to use. That dropped the fps by 20-30 IIRC. Maybe the MWS is just a very efficient system? I checked the accuracy and zeroed the Visionking LPVO scope. 34mm group at 12m bench rested. Should be ok for hitting man sized target at 20-50m.1 point

Airsoft Governing Bodies
allyballybee reacted to Asomodai for a topic
Many people know my opinion in the need for a bonified license, which would only come with a governing body and recognition as a valid hobby/sport. However some people don't want this recognition because people don't like change and oversight. It works for them right now, so why change? The answer is, Airsoft has been in or around part of this grey area of legality and acceptability for a very long time, which cant last forever. Are we allowed to continue, be visible and be legitimate, or not be legal and become underground? The risk of trying to find out once and for all is that we might get the wrong answer. But I think it's something we really have to deal with as Airsofters and get a definitive answer. If we come out of the gate wanting to become legitimate, it would give us an advantage in negotiations, rather then skulking around in the shadows waiting for an "incident" to bring the problem to us completely unprepared to deal with it. I support some form of recognition and legitimate representation, as it would help legitimise Airsoft in the eyes of lawmakers and set us apart from the idiots with RIF's in public that you find in the newspapers. Airsoft itself may come across a bigger (Unspecified) threat in the very near future which if we had representation in place, could help fight off whatever it is more effectively; rather then scramble around at the last minute fighting amongst ourselves to organise. If we have no representation in place to already deal with an (unspecified) threat, we would in a far worse position to defend Airsoft. Airsoft is already or will become political for those outside of the hobby, we need to acquire the tools to negotiate, defend and come out the other side as a legitimate sport or hobby. It might mean it would be harder to get into the sport as a new player, it might mean paying a regular yearly fee and as a result might mean less money flowing to retailers, but at least it will save the hobby as a whole which is far more important. Bottom line. I don't mind paying more money to help safeguard what we do.1 point -
