Russia hasn't been considered Communist, nor has it been run by Communists since the fall of the union. It has been passed off as a weak Parliamentary Democracy but is actually controlled by an Authoritarian Conservative Capitalist Dictatorship. I am unsure why on earth people still think Russia is run by a Communist or Communist party. The SU was certainly Communistic Totalitarianism at it's core. Like many political stances and parties with "Labels" such as Conservative, Democratic, Socialist, Communist, Capitalist. Their actions generally have very little to do with their label beyond lip service.5 points

@EDcase Yup a Polish customer of mine did this with one of the "Polish man with a van" chaps and sure enough wasn't cost effective. Only really useful if it's a something not available in the UK. I'm due a phone chat with a new HK sea freight agent tomorrow to see what the situation is with container shipping.4 points -

Russian kit yay or nay ?
Skullchewer and one other reacted to Oneshotscott for a topic
I'd rather shag a bag of nettles than to read the political tripe above (if you want to talk politics regards the Russian /Ukraine conflict, then make a thread in the "off topic" section). so back to the original topic... Russian kit yay or nay? I say sure. Why not. It's not like people are barred from wearing the uniform of enemy forces is it? How many taliban/German /Vietnamese dressed players have you seen? I've seen lots. It's not like the uniform someone wears means that they support the country or military behind it. Wear what you want. Have fun. Airsoft is a simple game to play unless you're a jumped up walt/nobber/General bellend. Don't spoil it.2 points -
True, the label 'Communist' has been replaced but Putin clearly wants to bring back its ideological 'glory days'. Anyway, I don't think this is a good subject for an airsoft forum so I'll drop it.2 points

Extreme far right politics have always been the mainstay in most of the countries in the region, even their "lefties" would be considered right wing in most of Western Europe, so citing that as an excuse for what's gone on isn't valid. You can't get away from the fact that a massive & extremely paranoid war machine, controlled by an equally paranoid dictatorship is committing wholesale murder on its neighbour, literally because it can, in the knowledge that the size of its nuclear arsenal is a deterrent preventing the west getting involved. The best hope for all involved is if an internal coup deposes Putin & those around him. Given the military losses coming to light, might be enough to initiate it ? Fingers crossed 🤞2 points

Just finished another weathered paint job. This is 'Starry'*. I wanted it to look like it's been dug up out of a Ukrainian garden after 20 years and recalled to active service... and I think it worked. 😁 Method: I stripped it back to bare metal, primed and repainted black so that when the paint inevitably chips, it's exposes the metal. I then used acrylic rust colours from brown to orange, dabbed on with foam in patches. The whole lot was then covered in an uneven textured 'technical' acrylic to give it the caked-up finish. The wood was sanded to remove the top layer then I used an aggressive sanding brush disc to carve runs into it. It was then doused in an oil-coloured acrylic wash to make it look distressed and a bit rotten. Finally, it was airbrushed with layers of matte varnish and chipping agent. Long live the 'Kraine! 🇺🇦 *Real name 'staryy brudnyy svoloch' (старий брудний сволоч) which is Ukrainian for 'Old Dirty Bastard'.2 points -

I have an upgraded aeg version of the Scorpion and I love it but...I have a 7" Wolverine mtw which is now my favourite. The advantage of the M4 platform is mag variety with some really high capacity mid caps epm1's etc. The best thing about the mtw is it's ready to go out of the box. Everything aligned perfectly, lovely and light, with excellent build quality. It's a little more than the Evo but I would say it is worth it.1 point

Although I'm not much of a run-and-gun-type of player (more plod-and-pew) I've had the odd moment where I've had to get a shift on, and the Esstacs have been brilliant. They aren't cheap but weighed against the cost of replacing lost mags and I can justify it. The Safariland clone (6354DO) retains the pistol by the ejection port and releases with a thumb lever. You can adjust the tension and I have to say it's very smooth and instinctive to draw. You do need a weapon light on this model though otherwise it won't retain as well, if at all.1 point -

Welcome man. My first ever game day was at frontier and I've been a good few times since. Everytime I've been, I have always felt welcomed by staff and other players. They have had a number of owners over the years but theyve all been good. It's a site that I would always go back to. The site itself is woodland that has a small "range like" part to the left with obstacles (caravan, old hay bales rtc) and then the main game area to the right, which is woodland is shaped like a bowl with a small fortification in the middle and a few little hides holes. Dont worry about being new, there's always new players no matter what site you go to. Everyone starts off as a new player 😁 If your based in Stafford, have a look at Stormforce (Rugeley) and Anzio Camp (Leek, but its days are numbered due to some work planned for the site; defo try this 1 before it goes). Theres also a Cqb site in stoke ran by West Midlands airsoft. Good luck and perhaps see you on the field one day.1 point

Welcome. Your gonna love it! First tips as a newcomer myself in October. Get some nice eyepro and lower mesh mask as your first purchase. Save buying a gun until you get a UKARA defense. Talk to as many people at the site as possible when you start going. Get to know the kit etc and start working out what you want from the sport so you are better informed when it comes to purchasing your own kit. And lastly geek out on YouTube vids and forum posts here. I found that bit easy as I love geeking out on new things I get interested in. I felt I already knew so much about everything before I even acquired my UKARA. So when I finally dropped a massive wad on my kit I felt I definitely knew what I wanted. And so far I wasn't wrong. It all played off in the end. I also mostly play solo. But I find that helps talk to new people on game day and get out of my comfort zone. Don't be shy to ask people about their guns and kit. They will happily talk your head off about it all 😂1 point

Mostly just calorie restrictions, intermittent fasting, maintaining my total abandonment of public transport forcing me to cycle everywhere I need to go. I'd be doing martial arts too, but I can only afford airsoft or martial arts while I'm unemployed and I chose airsoft. Hoping as the we transfer into spring I'll get out a bit more, but at the moment it's just dreary, grey and chilly so I have no desire to cycle along the seafront for fun right now1 point -

Oh yes it does ! it counts from 95 down to zero its designed to use short Thompson mags of which the Hi-caps hold 200 . You fill the mag load it in start shooting it , it hits zero you pull the mag out a wee bit push it back in ,,,,,,,,,,,,AND it re-sets to 95 so basically you’ve got an accurate round counter ! 😍1 point -

Narp. GBP has been creeping up slightly against the Euro for the last year, but it's a small wibbles and wobbles either way. I'd assume it's just the long awaited price hikes coming down the chain. Most countries printed billions++ of $CURRENCIES over the past couple of years. This necessarily devalues the purchasing power of fiat, and everything is going up sharply. Food, energy, housing, transport, I reckon the headline 4.9% CPI is very optimistic.1 point -

I should've brought some ice skates with me today. The mud at Worthing wasn't as deep as it can get but everything was slippery as hell. I tried my luck at climbing up onto one of the ridgelines but just ended up sliding back down again on my backside 😂 Still, despite the rain some great fights, good pushes and defence by boths teams, always a pleasure to see. One complaint is a game of running barrels to a central objective was going a lot quicker that the marshalls thought it would, so a lot of rules started changing on the fly. It was a bit confusing to say the least. But we got to some classic base domination in the afternoon, lots of fun, lots of kills pretending to be a hedge 😄 It was a good day for me too, gun is back to 60m range and performing quite well even after a last minute gear change. My ghillie is doing its usual good things, though it will need some updating as we get into spring. I took out my new pistol, WE's version of the p226. Very happy with it, effective at 30m and reaches out to 45 totally stock. My friends had less good days, sniper mag issues, and my mates g&g sr15 falling apart for a third time.1 point -

The cheapest you will get night vision is from tesco. A big bag of carrots. 😆 But as @EDcasesays its not cheap. A company called fox do night vision goggles for around £150 They do work after a fashion but not wonderful and they show two red circles when the ir is on which is a giveaway lol. Regards1 point -
Whilst majorly attempting to avoid specifics, as discussed with a site owner once …… They had a booking from a particular group of stereotypes, and dreaded the level of management & marshalling needed whilst considering excuses to reject the booking without ramifications But on the day it was one of the best groups they have had - purely a group of people who wanted to enjoy a day out shooting each other along with fat wallets1 point

Now have one. Only used it once so far, so limited information Pro’s Excellent build quality Slide well finished, not sure what the finish is, but it’s not a paint. Con’s Trigger is very heavy, haven’t got a gauge but would guess about 7+ lbs Mag is slow to load, speed loader is supplied and needed. If you try to squeeze the trigger very slowly you can hear a small gas release, don’t think this a fault though, just down to the no hammer design. Definitely a collectors piece and not suitable for the skirmish field.1 point

At £300 i'll order one the day they are available in the uk. Any more than that and i'll wait for the used ones to turn up, which is bound to happen once a few of them get played with and the disappointed purchasers realise a £400 pistol doesn't immediately turn you into John Wick.1 point
