Cheers, looks like I will treat myself then Not worried about the 20 round mags as I often run a shotgun with 10 to a reload. Now it's just the choice of M16 or xm177... I'm leaning towards the M16 and fitting the real furniture.2 points

You will learn there is nothing like s free lunch in this world (that's a metaphor if you don't understand what I'm talking about)... We are lucky in this country to be able to play airsoft with non coloured guns.... However the rules are there for a reason and should not be circumvented.... and nothing about airsoft is lame. A two tone gun is just as good as a vanilla gun. It's the player that holds it that matters and if that player has a mind set that airsoft is lame when playing with a two tone gun then maybe this hobby isn't for you....2 points

Like everything I guess... TV's £300 no longer buys you a big ye olde box TV it no longer buys you a chunky flat screen but now a wafer thin 50" mofo HD with 4k option a little bit more Sure they aren't Sony, LG's etc... but fuck me they are not that far behind £60 ~ £70 guns are ergh £60 ~ £70 guns still but point being the guns now at whatever price tag have improved loads and like TV's and shit you are getting a lot more better value for money Cheap or cost effective TV's or Cyma's or whatever have made others up their game Some of the slightly better Cyma's like Hi-Speed versions with 13:1's and say a 22tpa with a basic mosfet for say £35 more than a basic model represents good value for money as it would cost you that anyway (so some thought went into these gun model options) Can't comment on the more higher end metal M4's, but expect same applies I rated D-Boys which are Double Bell 416's a few years ago though at the time the hop was shit clear plastic and they have also made some improvements and unless you are trademark fan boy, then the D-Boys/Double Bell 416 is a nice cost effective gun (quite heavy as I own mostly cheapo light plastic guns - it is solid weighty 416 without trades) Double Eagle 904G's they are flogging that at fuck all mark up to make in roads and shift stuff in bulk to make money - £100 Honey Badger with basic bells & whistles fuck me, how many of those are gonna show up on game days after lockdown but most stuff & makes have upped their game from a few years ago you are getting more bang for your buck (or more higher res pixels for ya dosh) Cyma have just continually upped their game and most importantly sensibly upped their game making steady improvements bit by bit to result in a lot of decent sturdy cost effective guns for various budgets But be careful trying to contact Cyma's customer service department as this is how the conversation might go... Kidding btw - but still fucking funny2 points -

WE m4 based GBBRs work very well for skirmishing, so I wouldn’t worry about getting one at all. I had one for a while and only moved it on as I have 3 MWS, Just a couple of thoughts: 1. You will probably need an npas to regulate power as gas guns power can vary hugely depending on the weather and what gas you use. 2. The hop rubber is a little hard for U.K. power. 3. The semi-auto trigger sear is a bit prone to wear (but it takes several thousand rounds) it is relatively easy to fix, but might be worth getting a steel part eventually (google it there is a very good YouTube video on it.)2 points -
Hahahaha, regrettably I don’t think I ever spent more than 5 minutes at a time ‘ghillied up’ indoors (largely because the dog was not a fan of it at all). Generally just threw it on to make sizing adjustments and get my long suffering girlfriend to take some photos so I could check for halo screen/raffia coverage. And now the vast majority of my ‘leafy boy’ stuff has new homes. Throughout it all I’ve definitely found a additional use for chest rigs and plate carriers with ‘emergency doffing’ capabilities. It’s been a close shave with answering the door to delivery drivers in the full ensemble on a few occasions 😅.2 points

Yeah, just been googling and YTing it, and while it looks pretty neat in GTs pics, somehow it doesn't look all that special out the box - honestly if you wanna go something in the same vein I'd just go MP5.1 point

Oh yeah, I was so focused on the up close details in the second pic I must have glossed over all that info.. I have to say I'm not typically interested in anything that is not specifically modeled off of something real-steel. However that looks very cool !1 point

The power is on the low, side yes but the TM hop floats them out there. For a night game it's pure murder in the dark with the can on. UZI wise I'm waiting for the North East full steel beastie due at some point.1 point

I've got a WE M16a1 and very happy with it though I've only used it for plinking in the garden. Unfortunately the mag requirements put me off using it in a game. For practicality the XM177 would be better for its smaller size. (The JG XM177 being one of my fave AEGs for games)1 point -
Now I think about it I've got a genuine Colt Canada cary handle on it and a genuine stock too. Good call onthe M16, will look awesome with some real furniture on it.1 point

My GBBR L119 A1 is based on the WE M4 and its a perfectly decent gun to skirmish. I've got 3 WE GBBRs and use them all. Worth fitting a maple leaf rubber (think I've got 50's in mine) and as mentioned you will need an NPAS. Get plenty of mags too ! Run all mine on red gas all year with no issues. Cant speak for the TM but quite a lot of Real steel parts work with the WE , mine has a buffer tube and charging handle on it and I've got a bolt stop on order to try too.1 point

We bought a double bed and the seller send two beds instead of one. Contacted them and said ‘mate you have sent me the parts for two double beds here, do you want to come and get one?’ Seller agrees to rectify the issue... by sending me a further two double beds. Now with three double beds in the hallway I decided that rather than raise it a second time and risk more double beds in boxes and never being able to get out of the house again and I gave one to a mate, one to a charity shop and sold the last one.1 point -

Continuing my clear out I’ve made my way on to my ‘patch bag’, found this absolute relic in there. Crazy to think this event, which was around 200-300 in attendance if memory serves, would ultimately become NAE (an event I’m yet to attend but plan to if/when it runs again). This spurred me to go on a trip down memory lane, ohh boy are those some ill fitting trousers and black boots with MC... what a sin! Good to see I was still loyal to 'mayo' ARs though. Ohh to be young again 😅.1 point -
I have tried 3 times and got nothing either. So went for the upgraded arm/nub combo thing instead. Apparently just as good https://shop.jkarmy.com/c-c-hop-up-adjuster-j-arm-for-marui-m4-ar-mws-tm-mws.html1 point

it's worth noting that whilst there is a subset of players who dislike "noobs" (and those players are assholes) most players don't give a damn if your gun is 2-toned. we all know it's a necessary evil and as long as it's not been done to anything particularly rare/nice you're not gonna be judged for it.1 point -
Absolute best bang for buck.. JG g36c. Bought one from TaiwanGun for £90 and put a maple leaf rubber in it. Shoots as far as 90% of airsoft guns in its fps range. Plastic is cheap looking but it’s more than durable enough. Decently light and compact. For £100 or less you’re not getting better. best gun for £150.. ICS sports line m4 models. Internals are mostly the same as the metal bodied prolines. They’re very nicely made and the split gearbox is a fantastic idea; especially for a new player. If a piston does eventually strip its a much less daunting process of replacing it or changing a spring for a new player who doesn’t want to completely open a gearbox. Again, throw a decent hop rubber inside it and it’s shooting better than most things you’ll come across. if an m4 isn’t your thing, a CYMA AK is a good alternative for the money. £150-200 £200 plus then I’d be looking at the fancier, metal bodied ICS guns that go from £175-£450 depending on features. or if an m4 isn’t your thing an LCT AK wouldn’t touch a G&G or an Ares if you paid me. I’ve previously had 2 g&g and both didn’t feed properly. Not not cheap combat machines either. Their UMP and something else I can’t remember. Ares are made out of kinder egg..1 point

@Orthiz22 I dislike two toned guns as much as the next guy, but if it meant I had to suck it up & use one in order to play, then so be it, but I'd stay within the law & cover the brightly painted areas with camo scrim net or sniper tape & crack on with shooting mofo's. It's what you should do 👍 EDIT: Obviously daddy will have to buy the two-tone, & gift it to you1 point

If you are asking if your parents can gain UKARA registration by watching you play, then that’s a no. They need to play the required games themselves. Note that if you want a RIF via another person while you are under age then the only legal way is for them to give you it as a present Thinking that a two tone is lame doesn’t aid in showing the maturity required for responsible RIF ownership1 point

tbh it really depends on the caliber of the shop/shop tech, sadly there are some that will just blindly do what the ticket asks without stopping to think "why are we fitting a picoaab when this gun already has a mosfet?" this is one of the reasons i advocate doing tech work yourself- at least then you know what's going on inside your gat.1 point -

I'd second the CYMA M14 but the Socom version is much handier. Still perhaps a bit too much for kids or those with back trouble. Any of the shorter folding CYMA AKs also spring to mind. Really like the look of that Specna. I can feel my mouse hand twitch at the prospect of clicking on 'Add to Cart' as I type. I'll have to lay off the beer or the keyboard tonight now...1 point -
Another One Bites the Dust

Terminal boy, now there's a name from the past! One of my all time favourite moments from any skirmish was at TB. Our team was approaching the valley. The bit with the bad ass drop off and thick bushes below. Every time anyone came near the edge we has shot by an unseen enemy force. This resulted in a stack of people just off the lip not moving. Someone lobbed a smoke out and we all run up on full blasting into the thick vegetation. It was like that bit on predator where they drop the jungle. After a couple of seconds we heard HIT HIT HIT. The enemy force? A single man with a western arms infinity. What a defence! I'm sure that was terminal boy. My first game there was an absolute beat down. I don't recall a single confirmed kill. It was quite a steep learning curve. But my point is if it wasn't a good site with a good bunch of people I could have taken that beating and thought airsoft is not for me. But instead I was hooked and couldn't wait for the next game.1 point -

Well that sounds like a complete Clusterfuck on UPS's part. I hope you get your order at some point. It could be worse - around 20 years ago (around the dawn of internet shopping) my team mate and I ordered ~$500usd of Paintball gear from the states. Never showed. No tracking number. Couldn't get a refund (no buyers protection back in those days). Seller (a major manufacturer that still exists) couldn't give a shit. We had to write off the money and forget about it. 2 years (yes, years!) later, a big box shows up at my mates house with 'Christchurch England NOT Christchurch New Zealand!' scrawled across it. Turns out it had been stuck in New Zealand customs for years because some dumb fuck in the US Paintball company warehouse forgot to write the country on the box. We've come a long way in terms of shopping since then.1 point -

^pretty much agree with that. the we's aren't as good as the ghk/tm line but they are still usable. the trigger components do seem to be the weak area of their ar lineup, the metal is just not hard enough for the rigors of a gbbr, however there are aftermarket parts available.1 point -
Hell, the fashion show side of things is the only part of the hobby we’ve been able to engage in over here for the past few months. I’ve been ‘slaying the catwalk’ (read as, walking around my office bored out of my mind trying out various setups for general comfort) more than I care to admit. Picked up a new EOTech 558 clone with a G43 magnifier to add to my HK 416, and started on a new Coyote Tan loadout to go with woodland MARPAT BDUs. Started with the Elite Ops PLB shooter belt from WAS. The combo contains: - 1 x PLB Belt - 1 x Personal Medic Rip-off pouch - 1 x Universal Pistol Holster - 1 x Large Roll up Dump Pouch - 2 x Polymer Mag 5.56mm - 2 x Polymer Mag 9mm Pistol Also added the WAS adjustable radio pouch for a Baofeng. Next will be the Recon plate carrier, Pathfinder chest rig and a drop pouch, once they're back in stock.1 point

Different engraver found, waiting for quote. Just incase anyone was having dificulty sleeping - here's what a £130 Cyma needed to be a DMR. Gearbox casing is fine with no obvious defects, more for the ceremony than anything I've polished the rails with Mothers Aluminum polish. Who knows if it makes any difference but it makes me THINK the piston cycles better. Stock cylinder head was also fine so I've kept that and the stock cylinder in place. Unfortunately, the airseal was non-existant, I've kept the Cyma piston but changed out the piston head for a ported aluminum jobbie I had laying around. The stock nozzle wasn't great, so I splashed out on a Prometheus which seals and feeds. ASG M125 spring with a bearing spring guide coupled with a Modify 6.03 barrel if giving the desired FPS. There was no reason to change out the gearset but a saw a deal on some standard ratio Prometheus V7 gears that I couldn't resist... Quick shim and that's all happy. Stock bushings are fine. If you remove the selctor bar from the V7 gearbox, the cut off lever cannot be lifted. This gives a clean and reversible semi only lock. The Cyma motor wasn't great so I switched that out for an ASG Infinity 30,000. The ASG motors are a bit on the big side so a fair bit of filing had to happen to allow for proper motor height adjustment. Cabling was switched out for some decent gauge stuff and a Gate trigger cable was put in place. Currently there's a NanoHard in the stock set to no active-brake and 7.4V battery protection. Active brake was making the spring go TWANG bizarrely, but the gun doesn't require AB on a 7.4 and the trigger response is spot on. Finally, the Cyma Hop unit was not a great casting and actually asymetrical. I got a TM unit from FireSupport and went with the obligatory ML Macaron/Omega nub route. Fun project internally, but as usual I've spent more than the base gun on UpGrAdEs! I still can't hit anything, but I certainly cant blame the M141 point
-
Decided to strip the finish off of the stock as it wasn’t quite dark enough to look authentic. Some sanding and staining later and it’s getting close to where I want it to be. Didn’t manage to get to the engraver today so that’s going to have to wait until after Christmas. Bah Humbag1 point

An MWS at 1j is quite a tool, you really don’t need any more power. For colder days run Red has / propane etc. Upgrades wise a lightweight BCG will help cycle speeds around 0C. Likewise you can run the above all year with an NPAS type valve and adjust it to suit time of year / site FPS regulations.1 point
