You mention your a "larger gentleman" ?, as am I, wasn't always & when I had a defined waist it was easy to wear belt rigs, but as its expanded it makes it difficult to keep the belt up, especially once you start adding the weight of mags/pistol etc, the harness alleviates this problem but adds hardly any weight to the rig. worth considering ?2 points

Yo. I like my eyesight and want to keep it Seriously though, Would it be possible to have a dark(er) mode/theme available? Would put much less stress on our precious mk1 eyeball sighting systems, as spares are quite hard to come by.1 point

So after thinking I was about to get a Western Arms AMT Hard Baller ridiculously cheap after looking for so long the seller ghosted me. So I began the search again and came across a 7 year old you tube video series from La Zouche Customs on how to build a long slide Hard Baller. So two TM MEU slides barrels and Trigger bought fro Eire Airsoft, a TM Nickel Series 70 is on the way from Fire Support. glues and filler putty on the way and Still need a few Hi Capa parts but this stage was make or beak so stage 1. front end cut of 1 slide, used a micro hand drill to to put several holes that line up in the front an rear of each slide then used two drill bits as dowels. looks like it will work.1 point

Goggles and ankle support boots are the first priority. Fogging is always the problem with goggles so don't get the cheapest otherwise you'll get frustrated with em. (Recommend not to get mesh) Read, read, read and watch airsoft tech videos This is a great opportunity to get loads of info before you jump in the airsoft money pit... ... its deep 🤪1 point -

I had the same problem, trying to re-index mags quickly just wasn't happening. So I had a look around for any Kydex insert options and found TMC made one for £20 (Link below) Ended up buying some Kydex sheet's and making my own, single solid insert which works for my PTS & TM MP7 mags. Works a treat 😁 https://www.weapon762.com/holster/1770-tmc-kydex-mag-holster-insert.html1 point

Nice looking rifle! As far as mods go, you'll want to fit something around an M110/M120 spring depending on your local fields FPS limits and the quality of your airseal. You're looking for consistency so careful choice of components is probably more important than chasing FPS. I'd suggest a good quality hop rubber like the Maple Leaf 60degree macaron with an appropriate nub (Maple Leaf Omega ideally). The Specna hop units are actually OK, but if you want to upgrade then definitely look at the Maxx ME models. This is always worth a read https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/5g58ia/holy_grail_dmr_guide_updated_for_20167/1 point

Agreed, a yoke / harness goes a long way. It also means you don't have to tighten the belt all that much as the weight and position is maintained by your shoulders.1 point

Here is my new "Speedsoft" AK. It is not tacticool enough. Boom! Angled Aluminium Grip, Stubby Foregrip at the top for when the stock is folded and a new CYMA Rail cover. I think I need to get an even smaller foregrip though as the one I have on their just does not look right. Looking at this one for the moment. Side to side mag wobble on the Dytacs are known to be ridiculous. So had to velcro it up. Still wobbles, but does not make a noise anymore. Folded up.1 point

starting gear can be relative to what you want. at minimum you'll want good goggles, good boots, and a facemask isn't a bad shout either. however aside from that there's a lot of options, camo is very much optional in this hobby so feel free to run round in jeans and a t-shirt (plenty of players do this by choice anyway so you aren't going to look too out of place) although if you're playing outdoors camo does help, surplus dpm or flecktarn is cheap and effective. gloves and a hat/ear covering is optional but recommended (getting hit in the fingernail hurts something shocking) in terms of guns, you'll have a better idea after renting for a couple of games, but a g&g raider (other cheap aeg's are available) with its included hi-cap, a battery and charger is all you need to get going. things like pistols etc are fun but not strictly necessary. to expand from that a couple of extra mags is going to be useful in-game, a cheap chest rig will be useful too. after that the sky is the limit, and what guns/gear you have very much becomes a matter of personal preference. as a fresh start probably best to find a local site and rent for a few games (when they re-open of course), it'll give you a better idea of the hobby. while you're there have a chat with folk, airsofters love to show off their kit so getting some inspiration isn't going to be hard.1 point -
Bare minimum, you need: - AEG - High cap mag (will most likely come with the AEG) - BBs - Battery and charger - Eye pro I would say figure at £150 minimum for budget stuff.1 point

Jesus that's horrible! If you're looking for the drop in replacement that uses the same handguard cap and delta ring to attached then you need to search for "KAC RIS", 7 inch for an M4, 12" for an M16 M4 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Airsoft-Accessories-Aluminum-Handguard-System/dp/B06XZ6KH5S M16 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000156854455.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.43b47d66bKTPIL&algo_pvid=1af9c79e-8326-42f8-a87b-9ff02ffe50c1&algo_expid=1af9c79e-8326-42f8-a87b-9ff02ffe50c1-34&btsid=0be3769015894464979183017e9d8a&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_1 point

Thanks man, they've actually been around long before the new-ish gen4 gears, the SHS / SLD type - just prices used to be alot higher. I think the factories just had a surplus so reduced the price on them. I wouldn't have thought they are as strong as the latest gen4 but they do provide a smoother operation for standard builds.1 point

JG MP5s are fine, half of the problem youll be expierencing is the lack of barrel length / and or matched volume. Adding a mock suppressor and a 150-180mm barrel will help alot. As above the PDI W Hold gives great air seal, use the stock JG nub. I particularly like these in GBB pistols (VSR type obv) or 'straight' for Rhop use. The good ol' Prometheus Purple or G&G green are great buckings, use it with an SCS/Concave type nub.1 point

Great to hear that S&T are working on a (hopefully reasonably priced) Enfield, although I can't help but notice that sneaky FG42 in the bottom corner... 😁 (it's about damned time) Also I might be wrong, but that Enfield pic looks like a 3D render to me; might explain the colours being off.1 point

Ok, try it out. Scroll to the footer and under the 'theme' drop-down you should see the dark theme test. Relying on you lot to report any problems with it so that I can fix them1 point
