We have some great photos of guns and loadouts but they tend to miss the atmosphere of a day of Airsoft so I started this thread for such photos. I'll start with this one, Autumn at Battle Lakes, Kent.

A 2015 Infiltration Airsoft game in the Drakelow Tunnel Complex. This sort of captures the experience of playing in a dark, dank WWII industrial complex/1980s nuclear bunker, but the camera doesn't (and couldn't) capture the later atmosphere when players and smoke grenades stirred up so much dust you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. I have no doubt that a couple of games there without a gas mask would give you all the 19th century diseases.

Is that recent news? They were still open a month or two ago and are still listing next weekend as a date on the Gunman website... In terms of "Atmospheric" pictures, mostly they seem to have people in them doing cool shit or looking tacticool, when we all know the actual atmosphere at airsoft is a bunch of people standing around talking... "so I found this shell casing on the floor" "still hungover from yesterday, had MCd's on the way here..." "No, I've ordered a new one from the retailer but it still hasn't turned up" "Isn't that the wrong suppressor for that impression year?" "not sure, but it's like red and itching..." "Does anyone know what we're supposed to be doing? Have we started yet?" "...whole other team not taking their hits if you ask me..."

Well after 21-2yrs of playing I do have one or two to say the least ? pic 1 , me 1st thing on a misty spring morning , pic 2 , is a couple of team mates on a crisp’n’cold winters day and pic 3 is my youngest on his 1st game day .

Buy yourself a chrono. One of the most underrated pieces of kit for an airsofter to own is their own chrono so they can test things like this at home, especially for HPA users and people who tech their own guns. As you don't have one, what I'd say is set it to about 60psi and take it to the range early on the day, before chronos are set up. Get the hop dialled in, then once it's dialled in and shooting well, take it to chrono and see where it's shooting at. If it's super below 1.1J, adjust the reg a little, but if it's close to a joule I'd say leave it until you have your own chrono and can take as much time as you want fine tuning the reg and FCU, which you will want to do as you'll want to set the dwell and the psi properly to make it as consistent as possible. If you want to fine tune it, you could ask the staff if you can borrow a chrono and sit the first game out, but I wouldn't pester the staff before the games as they'll have their hands full chronoing everyone else. I have my own chrono so I usually take my chrono up to the range, get my m21 set for 1.1J on the money, adjust my scope, make sure the hop is right etc, then I go to chrono for the site once I've done all my own setup with my own chrono.

If you need something made, I have a few standard items from the Halo Series available and I also do costum orders. Anything is possible. First one is my ODST setup. The helmet is a glassfibre-infused polyurethane cast with an active 50mm fan, external LED light modules, face illumination, side rails, NVG mount, tactical foam inserts, adjustable chin-strap. The visor is a 2mm polycarbonate visor, which withstands up to 520 fps bolt-action shots from point-blanque. The armor is MOLLE compatible and fits most plate carriers. Brings a big grin everytime I pull that trigger. So far has been faultless after around 5000 rounds. Just chugs along. Worst... Hmm... 🤔🤔 ah yes a, wait for it... Nuprol sling 🤬 fucker lost its stitching in a game and my MWS went crashing towards the ground... 😯 but managed to catch it before it hit😏 I sew it back together myself and it's now solid but... I shouldn't have to have done that. Its true what they say about nuprol, and slings too. Don't cheap out. It is literally the thing supporting your nice expensive toy. Lesson learned.

This x1000000000000000 Chronos should be mandatory kit for HPA users. Why would anyone drop a huge wedge of cash on an HPA setup and not £50-£60 on a chrono is beyond my limited comprehension.

After selling off all my MWS’ uppers / lowers / projects I’m now down to one rifle and a bunch a spares…needs a PDW buffer tube if they exist. TM 17’ & G&P 40 rounder for scale, she’s smoll. Short inner barrel barely effects range or power output. Can edit for parts list if anybody actually cares 🙃

Yeah, trust me, these fully enclosed helmets just dont work without it. The fan sits in the chin area and sucks out the moisture/air nicely. For very humid days I also have a helmet with an additional radial fan blowing onto the visor itself.

Great thread. I'm not going to count some of the bargains I've got, just general stuff. Best: 2x ohshibooms blank firing grenades, they have literally saved me around £1000 in pyro costs. Tm ngrs m4 and 416. I've been running the same 2 rifs for over 6 years, I've used then hard, completed minor upgrades. Still love them and have always been easy to work on (any rifs used as much, for so long needs it). I've found them a great investment. Tm mp7 gbb: only used a couple of times but proper fun so far, can see it being amazing. Worst: Evolution gear eotech clone. Took months to arrive, didn't work, switched battery (as per their instructions) only for it to heat up and still not work. Refund took months as well. Only found holy warrior clones are worth bothering with now and even then vortex is better. TMC (very long time ago) mrb clone, tiny, inconsistent molle etc was completely unusable. Pretty much anything by 5.11 that's "tactical", their jeans are good but everything else has been..... disappointing.

I prefer to go for the ol' punch tape look... Does the job also helps me keep track of mag rotation to make sure one mag just never gets used and one takes the most abuse etc..

All together, shimmed and tested. Doesn't screech, hits 31/32rps, and my FPS is entirely inconsistent. BUT IT LIVES.

I didn't get 2 games out of mine. It jammed more than Bob Marley before the piston ate itself. I ended up whole gearbox from the cyma it replaced in it. Luckily the body has been rock solid For me it would have to be Best: MY SADF M83 chest rig. Cheap, comfortable and holds everything I need securely. Of all the bits of load carrying kit I've picked up over the years, it's the only one I find myself going back to Worst: A&K M249. Heavy, pot metal parts which would break and totally unreliable. Glad I got rid of it

I'm so pleased with myself. Had the idea 2 days ago, got the glowsticks at work today. Just got in from the pub, frankly smashed, amd couldn't wait to see if it worked or not. Can't get sensible pic with the lights off but the reticle's as bright as you like even in pitch darkness.

Best: Galaxy MP5K (G.5K). Huge amounts of performance, portability and fun for so little money, wildly exceeded my modest expectations. Worst: CYMA CM351 tri-shot. Fragile, misfeeds, trigger barely functions, hops are all over the place. Cheap, but every penny was wasted. Reckon I'll just bin it, I'm never going to use it, and I wouldn't inflict it on anyone else.

Surprisingly - given the choice, I'd rather unblock a loo than I would a bath or kitchen sink. At least with a turd you kinda know where you stand - with those other drains the smell is worse and feck knows what is in there. Anywho... back on topic.... LOL....

Just thought I’d put it out there, new nozzle and hop up chamber, it’s all working now, plus tested on red gas well abbey red, kicks like a mule and cycles the bolt much better

Let's be honest, if you were attempting to run a professional site, how hard would it be to have some laminated sheets at a permanent chrono point for immediate reference, along with a selection of proven weight, decent quality bb's & one each of most platform mags. I never get why most sites call people to a hastily prepared chrono, usually balanced on the edge of a makeshift range, & usually manned by one lone Marshall while all the other Marshall's stand together in the safezone swapping war stories & generally doing feck all 🤬

but then you'd lose the straight-line recoil impulse which is why the stock is mounted that high in the first place? that's why the og ar had to have the carry handle- you needed to rise the sights that far above the bore to get your head onto them. wasn't an issue on previous rifles because straight line stocks was a new idea. funny enough, the em2 which was specifically designed for optics from the get go (unlike the ar/fal/g3/ak where optics were kinda afterthoughts) also had a carry handle to rise the optic above the receiver. you don't see it as much in other designs because the barrels are mounted lower, you look at the ak/fal/g3 they all have stuff mounted above the barrel which fills in the space where the ar carry handle would otherwise be. which is a great combo imo, you've got your risen optic but you've also got a magnified optic, and no faffing around with levers/magnifiers to switch between the 2 you just shift your face.

AK105-VSU (11.5” barrel) I really enjoy making paint and environments work, spent a lot of time and collected a lot of Cerakote swatches and loads of aerosol tests. Some colours are very ‘reactive’ and play to the human eye changing quite dramatically in different light and backdrops.
