Beat me to it. We need a holy war to convert fps heretics on pain of being point blanked with 0.48g from a Joule-creeping sniper that's "Only 500fps with twos, mate."

  12. A few lens protector from Red Dot Engineering. Unfortunately the flip up reflex had to be custom made which costed quite a bit, but happy with the process and the result. Itching for a field test now with this set up. Wonder how wierd that would look in the field.

  13. All good advice above even an experienced forum dweller falls fowl of some items bought used. Ive just bought a “cared for “ rif on a used selling website I asked all the right questions, got a video sent to my mobile of it working confirmed what was included etc,etc Then the rif arrived with a couple of small niggles, nothing to stop it working but it was jammed when it arrived with me and needs maybe £30 of parts fitted to make it operate like it should When I contacted the seller about the problems, ten minutes after it had arrived I add, I got the stock answer of ”it was fine when it left me mate” So beware, the Parcel Force pixies are able to get into a wrapped box and lock a charging handle back and fcuk the release lever 🙄 Just as well I paid PayPal G&S and not bank transfer like the seller wanted Im able to raise a dispute if he doesn’t do the honourable thing and help cover the costs Success will be limited, but I’m in with a chance at least

    Discord.

Hey mate, Open Discord and create an account. It's a similar process to setting up an account on a forum. You need to be invited to the group by someone already inside it (Unless you know the name of the group). They will send you a link to join which should have the format "discord.gg/...." You just click that and you're in.

  17. Er, well, yes. They're chronoing in Joules, but living in denial. There's a practical argument about it being slightly quicker, maybe, to cross reference an fps number on a chart than to change the setting on the chrono, especially if someone is using an unusual weight. My main issue is with still thinking and talking in terms of 0.2g and 350fps as a default, which is now an edge case for woodland. Thinking about it, the one weight that you probably don't need on a chrono for woodland is 0.2g. Really, how many people are still shooting that?
    1 point
  18. Unlikely, since I run a 1.8J DMR myself. What I'm more concerned about are people taking point blank shots with guns over (potentially way over) 1.3J because they've got it in their heads that "under 350fps" means that it's fine whether they're shooting 0.2g or 0.48g. Good. The sooner sites stop thinking and talking in term of fps, the sooner we can put this all behind us. All airsoft chronos show a Joules value. You don't need to work anything out, you just set your BB weight and look at that number. For example, I can tell you that my new TAC-41 boltie shoots at 1.8J with 0.43g BBs with the stock spring, and 2.27J with 0.43g with a 100N spring (minus 4 coils). I didn't even look at the fps value, and nor could I tell you what it might shoot at with 0.2g because it'll never, ever have anything that light in it. It's time to move on from 0.2g and fps. Join us in the future, we have flying cars and rocket boots and all sorts.

  19. As a Vector owner I will say you'll not regret it. But you will need all those mags 😁 Is the stock folded or removed?

  21. Green tick load out for early 2000’s. Old school holster works fine. 😀 Y-harness, belt and mag pouches are miltec. Okay build quality. Clips a bit meh, mag pouches are way larger than issue easily hold 3 polymer mags maybe usgi 4 metal body ones. Modified with cardboard dividers. Belt pad is kip mat and para cord. Holster, canteen, ruck & aid pouch are issue. Belt compass is old TAS early molle gen.

  23. Try some grease on the spring itself. Additionally whenever I've removed the bearing from the piston head I always notice a 15 - 20fps difference with 0.2g

    HPA newbie----help.

I’ve been using Polarstar Jack for years and have had a V3 fusion engine before as well. If you want maximum customisation and enjoy tinkering around with settings I’d go for a Fusion engine or a F2. From my understanding the only difference between the two is the fusion engine replaces the whole gearbox and the F2 is drop in cylinder unit. If you want something that you can drop in a play and not fuss around with too much, like what I wanted. Id go for the Jack. It’s a dumbed down version of the drop in cylinder units with minimal customisation. All the units you able to select different rate of fires, poppet dwell, fire settings, safe/semi/auto, safe/burst/auto, safe/semi/semi, etc just the Fusion and F2 you have more to play with. The Kythera from my understanding is simply a mechanical, closed bolt, semi only, plug and play sort of thing. Something that interests me. Your gonna need something to power it. Air or Co2. Personally again like I did, your new to HPA. Stick to air! Get yourself a paintball tank, a regulator and a line. You can get a product called an IGL which replaces the macro line coming from your engine. To save you a headache from it breaking on you mid game. I’d get one. Can’t comment on Wolverine products simply cos I ain’t used them. Hope this helps, always here to help Mike This is my gat. Just to show you what you can do with HPA

  31. It is a total mess for DMR's though. Honestly the reason I'm looking into HPA, so I can adjust to DMR limits or run at 1.1j depending on the site. Also None of this makes sense. 370fps on a .32 is 2j.

  32. So I have completely removed the upper reciever to rule out the charging handle and forward assist and it still rings and I am even more confident that its the spring. I have found a plastic washer on my stock arp9 piston head so u could remove the thrust bearing and use this instead

  33. Does it have bearings on the piston also? When you clipped the spring did you clean it up correctly? ( spring is what I would be looking at tbh)

    Fps/Joule Limit

First of all; big necropost. 😅 Secondly; UK law doesn't recognise DMRs or anything like that regarding Airsoft. You have the legal limit for single action and semi automatic at 2.5J iirc, but for safety's sake, sites will obviously set it at a lower level, which for DMRs is generally anything from 1.48 to 1.88J (Approx 400 to 450fps when measured on a 0.20), or 2.3J for single action rifles, but that's for safety & insurance.

  39. Make sure that it's what you want to buy. Sounds obvious, but selling on an unused rif is a PITA. Have you tried an example of what you're buying? Do you need it for a particular style of gameplay or loadout? If it's a first rif, factor in ease of tinkering if you are by nature a tinkerer. M4 platform is pretty easy, especially with a QD spring. You'll never want for mags etc either with a common platform (hopefully).

  40. I've two DE's and look after a third (my sons), all three have been fully disassembled multiple times to the level of the gearbox having been in pieces (M904E, M906C and an M908A). Really it's not a MOSFET or an ETU, it's a "controller" like a GATE Titan or Perun Hybrid with optical sensors, however it's a much cheaper "knock off" so you've no pre-cocking and active-braking etc. (also the "battery protection" isn't as sophisticated as say the GATE Titan). Having said all that though, for what can be a £160 rifle depending upon the model, they're bloody amazing (trigger response and rate of fire). Regarding which material is "stronger" it's finely balanced, but for the best long term strength I'd have to say the polymer. The metal bodies on the M900's are not all that thick, and I'm as certain as I can be that they're of a cheap alloy to keep costs low (it was so easy using just a manual hand drill to modify my M908A to create a hole in the lower receiver to fit a nut and bolt to lock it to semi-only for a DMR), but the polymer is very rigid and can take a good hard knock.

  43. My first skirmish I went out with a TM desert eagle in a drop leg holster (at the insistence of my airsoft veteran friend that this was the 'best' way) , persevered until lunchtime but the damn thing was incredibly uncomfortable to move around in and ended up leaving a very sore patch on my thigh by the end of the day. All about wearing them on the hip if you can, and if you can't because you're wearing a PC, mount it on that.

  47. Needed to knock up a couple more goggle fan units and a simplified goggle-strap clip to mount a Poundland £1 powerbank. Total all-in cost, including the powerbanks ~£4 each. The earlier prototypes seem to work pretty well, but I need to stress-test over the summer when it's really hot and sweaty. Thinking of a dual-fan version with airflow guide vanes to direct the air over a wider area

  49. Reality is a harsh mistress. The only "problem" here is that there are still sites out there who are chronoing like it's 1999. Can you please tell us which sites didn't spot that your toys were shooting hot, so that I can make a note to avoid them?
