Well.. update time... I caved in and bought one... Bought from Onlyairsoft in stevenage, and I got the last one they had in stock. I have been looking at this rifle all week, and watching them quickly go out of stock everywhere, that combined with a couple of friends expressing regret at not buying a RIF they really wanted (believing it would be restocked but then weren't), I decided to take the plunge, as well as buying the one spare mag I could find at wolf armouries. I haven't been able to field it yet, so can't comment much on performance, but the rifle feels very sturdy, the action is easy to draw back (unlike the upgraded spring in my Well Hecate). I did try doing a "mad minute" with the rifle on the test range at onlyairsoft and it fed well, with only one double feed that was down to user error more than the rifle (didnt pull the bolt all the way back to engage the sear on one shot) Couple of things I do feel wary of though are the magazine release, as it is not spring loaded. I can easily imagine catching it accidentally in the heat of battle with a gloved finger and dropping your mag. The lever is high up in the trigger guard so I don't see it being a common issue, just that one time you try to rapid fire and accidentally catch it. The other thing I have noted is some sideways movement of the rear sight. The sight is not so loose that it will move on its own when firing the rifle, but there is enough movement that an accidental nudge, for example with the rifle slung on your shoulder, could move the sights out of alignment, so without attention it will be difficult to zero the sights and keep them zeroed. I havent looked too closely, but I believe I can sort this issue with some shims on the pivot I will eventually be stripping the wood furniture and trying to give it more of an aged look, as I personally think that would suit the rifle better than its current pristine appearance. Also going to be looking at making/buying some attachments to give the rifle different looks for ww1 "trench tommy" or ww2 paratrooper or BEF loadouts I have planned6 points

Me personally I’ve always thought when you come down to it getting tech work done if your not confident doing it your self is like standing on a ledge in the pitch black and all you can do is grab your nuts and jump , your either going to land on something soft and squishy 🥰or your getting something sharp and spiky up your arse when you land ! 😖5 points -

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Badgerlicious and 2 others reacted to Impulse for a topic
I don't think I've had such a good game day in years. Literally just over a decade ago. Last time I had a game day like this I was a teenager living and playing in Spain. Spent the morning before the safety brief doing my walk around the site, looking for new positions to use as hides with good sight lines on objective areas and bases, as well as improving some of my usual spots (moving foliage and stuff). When we played I used one of my new spots for the first game and literally got about 20 kills with a bolt action, though I didn't get fully into the position as my team was swarming around me, pulling lots of attention on the area meaning I couldn't move without being detected. Then we swapped sides, I went to one of my old spots I had improved and racked up another 20 or so (literally lost count both games). One of the marshalls came up after the game and said "you had a pretty nice little angle there. I was just watching them push up and then get shot in the side" after the game as he saw what was going on and had to step out of my line of fire a few times. Missed most of the 3rd game because I had to refill my mags, which I never usually have to do, and got chatting with people in the safe zone. When I got out, we were super losing, but I managed to get into another of my positions and was picking people off at the base we had to attack for a few minutes before the game ended. Ever since last game day where I discovered my VSR is effectively and accurately reaching out to 85m I've just been taking the piss and making the most of the absurd range. It hops a little at 65 - 70m, so I have to aim a little lower for those very specific shots, but the trade off of hitting 75 - 85m directly on is fantastic. Wasn't going to go out after lunch as I was tired (new year resolution to lose weight, so there's calorie restriction going on) and was like "can I top that morning? Probably not." Then I did. Held a base by myself for a long time, occasionally directing a few rental kids who came to reinforce me (which was massively appreciated!). Constantly picking people off, including a pair who took cover about 2m from me and didn't see me leaning against the branch barricade due to my ghillie. Hit one with the mk23, then the other when he came to medic his buddy, and then another guy about 30m off on the flank who also hadn't seen me. Eventually got taken out, ran back to respawn (up a hill. I don't usually run much, much less up a steep hill, but I was feeling it today and wanted to get back in the fight), then came back, lay on my belly about 60m out from the base that they had now taken and started terrorising the defenders just as I had when I was defending the base myself. They had no idea where the shots were coming from and I was just constantly picking them off. I think I probably ended up with 65, maybe 70 kills through the day. No exaggeration, I burned through a lot of my .48s and now I need to restock, I think I went through somewhere between 150 and 200 .48s. They expensive With a bolt action these game days rarely come up, but I'm really getting used to how my VSR shoots and the vegetation is very sparse, allowing me to take those super long distance shots. I'm usually content with like... 15 - 20 through the whole day, but when these days come around it makes you feel like a million dollars. As I said, last time it happened was in the south of Spain when I was 17 years old.3 points -

I just bought one of those last week and out of the 30 odd pistols I have this one shoots by far the best in terms of grouping. Gas efficiency I got 4 mags out of a single charge of gas in the garage. So it was somewhere between 5 and 10 degrees. Nothing else I have will do this bar the Mk23. Haven't tried it at long range yet but it'll hop a. 28 fine. A 0.3 seemed to fly flat but I could not overhop it. I've had tm pistols before but not a hi capa. Genuinely impressed by this pistol. The trigger is quite light but no too light and it's very predictable. I got the tm Rmr on this which hold zero - at least for now.2 points

Afraid your asking an unanswerable question , your want an opinion on a very personal choice , it’s like “what am best gun ?” One players ‘perfect’ brand of BB is the next players ‘perfect’ example of a pile of shit ! Ultimately your going to need to see if the site your playing at has any restrictions on ammo(bio or non-bio to be used , only use the ammo they sell , etc)and then buy some and give it a go . Obviously your NOT going to buy a bottle of 10,000 bright yellow no name .12’s for £6 from Fleabay , just buy a bottle or bag of a branded name and see how they perform in your guns .2 points

check with the site you intend to play at a lot of sites have there own supply and may have restriction on bio or not also quiet a few paces ban blasters for shattering. weight wise 0.25 for pistols and .28 for AEGs but that depends on the gun some AEGs will be happier with lighter BBs.2 points

Spicy take time. Plate carriers look stupid on larger individuals. I'm not just talking about carrying a bunch of extra pounds, I mean for big and tall people. I've got a carrier that I want to use with my normal rifles when I'm not sniping, but every time I put it on I think it looks comically small on my 6'5, heavy-set frame. This year I'm going to put together a CQB / speedy-aggressive / breacher loadout to go with a future MWS purchase (and also to use with my AK, but mags are nowhere to be found ). A bit of a change of pace from being a bush monster, but I want to diversify my loadout choices!2 points -

OK, just fitted my new madbull rail on my mws. Frankly buying stuff for my pew has been a panacea for me these past 12 months. Don't regret a single penny. Internally it's all stock, I have a Magpul UBR (I took the little compartment out as I love the skeletonised look), rs Eotech xps2, rs Surefire M900a, an angry gun tracer unit and a Ferro Slingster.2 points -
The Macaron rubber is 90% of the performance of flat hop with about 5% of the effort so unless you plan on trying to lift very heavy ammo (ie more than the .28/.3 you mention) then it not really worth the hassle. The 50o or 60o Macaron should be fine for you.2 points

I'm not sure how we're supposed to respond to this "post". I mean... the title is nondescript, there's a bunch of screenshots from a website, no accompanying prose or questions etc. So I'm left thinking "Yes, and???". Noticed a few of these type of posts cropping up recently. I strongly suspect spam or some dodgy sellers looking to up their post count before advertising some ridiculously overpriced tat which will end up being deservedly mercilessly mocked on Mack's Airsoft Walts, Charlatans and Spivs thread. Or maybe folk are just thick and don't understand normal civilised conversation.1 point -

yes but op will come across less people they can legally sell to. I am a colonial Marine cosplayer a few of my group have signed pulse rifles (personally don't go in for it) to be morbid this would be worth money if it was Bill Paxton rather than Michael Biehn . He charges £30/40ish for a signature and gun fire has pulse rifles for £184.00 so maybe get £200 for it. you might have luck selling it internationally you have the replica prop forum, the Aliens legacy forum1 point

Be prepared to get a million and one answers... Depends on the play (indoor/outdoor) and what gnoos you are using. Generally speaking outdoors with most average AEGs 0.25g or 0.28g is recommended. I use Nuprol Bio .25s as they are cheap, work very well in my AEGs and my outdoor site mandates bio. Others prefer Vorsk, Ares Amoeba, ASG, Evolution, ad nauseum, your mileage may vary.1 point -

As Enid said, it's my money, and it's my interest in history and militaria that has the priority here; Airsoft is an interesting hobby, but I'm mostly interested in collecting displayable pieces that I also have a reasonable use for. And you're correct, a UKARA defence, my bad. Thank you to everyone that let me know about issues with Samoon and COVID atm, I didn't see that anywhere on their website, so either I'm a blind person or they're not being particularly overt about the fact. I will add I have 0 interest in AEGs; I'd like my toys to look, feel and sound a little less like a... toy. I'm an adult baby with distinguished taste.1 point

Didn't look like it was cut short it was just incredibly weak. Felt like it could either be a really poor grade m90 or even a m80. I think what currently happens is that Patrol Base order RIFs through TaiwanGun as they have a bit of "partnership" going on. Which do the work of reducing the fps as quickly as possible down to their low fps setting of 310. Replacing the spring is probably a bit quicker and more reliable than cutting the spring. Closing this particular gearbox on the cm048m was considerably easy - A magnet on the anti reverse latch and the trigger liked to play ball. In terms of springs the gearparts range at ak2m4 are very solid for the price. For some reason they are much easier to install than other springs as the coils on one end are much tighter than the other. I also installed a ZCI m100 during my testing which just loved to try and pop out towards me where as the gearparts preferred to stay put.1 point

As the owner of an SA-A03 I'd take the B02 every day. E&C are still the OEM for the One series, personally I wouldn't say the potential for issues from the Edge series is worth the bonus of a quick change spring and maybe an Aster mosfet.1 point

Here's me looking a bit awkward, twice. - Russian 'Flecktarn-D' camo (Kula Tactical) - Heavily modified (by yours truly) Chicom & scrote pouch - Mich helmet with Pencott green zone cover (from my other loadout) - Bolle x800 (highly recommend) - Mechanix gloves - Cyma AK - Battle belt, with Dynatec BFG 9mm (timed) in a pouch, Russian water bottle pouch (out of shot), dump pouch (out of shot), Blackhawk silencer pouch (that I use for carrying spare mk5's, also out of shot), WE Makarov (silver...for stealth) in an original soviet closed leather holster (out of shot), general purpose pouch (for extra ammo, spare mags, etc. out of shot). All pouches are OD. The Russian gear purists will probably balk at this cobbled together bunch of stuff, but it works for me. My regular sites are woodland, as you can probably tell, but this was taken today at 'Invicta Battlefield Black Site' in Kent - a great new site; CQB, with great games, balanced rules, and brilliant marshalls.1 point -

Playairsoft – a Crowd-sourced List of UK Airsoft Sites

I've had this in mind early on, but I am not convinced this is beneficial to the players for a couple of reasons: not every site has a website, Facebook page, etc if they do, most of them don’t give players any info or even a description of what to expect if they do, it’s often hard to find between the fluff and broken layouts if it’s not hard to find, it’s often out of date If you find a site on the map, chances are you will find more info on its location page on PlayAirsoft than on its OG homepage. If you want to book, enquire or visit their website, the call to actions are clearly displayed (where available). This is supposed to save people anywhere between one to several clicks and in some cases a lot of time. You’re free to feast your eyeballs on outdated info and gruesome website design any time, my friend. I realise location pages are missing crucial info such as pictures, but that’s in the pipeline too. Unfortunately, I will have to create a new backend for this purpose, because with its current setup I’d have to pay quite high hosting costs for image storage and bandwidth.1 point
