I informed the neighbours on both sides long ago what my hobby was, the response in both cases resulted in them coming over and having a go with their kids. When the kids are older I will take them for a skirmish I tend to shoot from inside the back room, out the patio doors, it adds 5metres to the range, and keeps the sound outside down and also means I'm not in view from further away neighbours or long range camera on police helicopters etc S3 points

Got this second hand for a very low price. Firesupport used to do this as a custom option. Its a tm recoil ak102 with lct furniture and a modified ak hop unit to allow the use of regular ak mags. It needs a new selector plate and a few screws here and there but otherwise seems in very good nick. And at the end of the day it cost me little enough that I can probably flog the lct furniture and get most of my money back!2 points -
There are no routine borders checks within the Schengen zone, but they can appear at any time Under Covid they have been reinstated by some countries under travel restrictions You can of course be stopped by the police at any time If they are aware of airsoft or paintball events in Germany or around Europe the German police do check travellers Travellingthrough a countries with airsoft guns that donβt comply with their regulations is a risk. To travel through Germany any airsoft guns carried should bear the F stamp. (They should also comply with the legislation covering the F stamp - but thatβs another matter)2 points

I'm talking specifically about night games, in dark woodland. Having done one with a torch, I won't be doing another without night vision, which means I won't be doing another. I'm not making a big deal of it, just wondering whether NV is such an (actual) game changer that the end result might be a few big spenders hunting each other in the darkness, if it's even viable for sites to keep running night games once us Poors get tired of being predated without any effective counter response. I can assure you that in reality, nobody's running around in woodland at night.2 points

Can you put an AK Stick Battery in a buffer tube?
Iceni and one other reacted to RostokMcSpoons for a topic
I was hoping you'd shoot them down with actual evidence, as it seems the anti-Titan stuff all feels very... airy-fairy rather than empirical. So I was suggesting it rather falls on you to disprove their claims if you're so convinced they're wrong, when they're willing to back their claims with a money back guarantee... I've yet to see anyone actually complain about their product not meeting their claims. Ideally I'd like someone to take them up on it by proving their battery is... shit...? Mis-sold? To the point where they have to pay out a refund. That'd guarantee a lot of views for a YouTube channel... But yeah, I'm no expert on airsoft batteries. Limited experience etc... I don't want to be arguing from the wrong end of the Dunning Kruger curve just cos I've watched a few YT videos. That's the sort of poor critical thinking that has Flat Earthers thinking they're right π€£ Let's agree to not so much disagree as to be on separate trains of thought on this. No harm, no foul? Edit: Re-reading this in the cold light of day... firstly apologies if my previous posts' flippant joke/comment came across badly, it wasn't meant to be arsey and to get a rise out of you. Also, 'airy-fairy' in this post is a bit harsh. I'm all for using science, maths and data to make a point, even (especially?) when I don't understand it fully.2 points -
Thermal scope tracker
Monkman and one other reacted to MikeMarden for a topic
Using a Thermal scope is a hell of a lot of fun, different options out there now across a variety of budget, gives you an unbelievable advantage whether day or night, sure some will state pay to win etc.!! - Me I'm just a peacock & enjoy the toys, also like going up against the NV users I run a couple of different set ups with Thermal 1- RIF Mounted Thermal Scope - Have a Pulsar XQ50 LRF Trial 2 which is an unbelievable piece of kit, easily dialled with range detection well over a couple of thousand yards, you can get around at night using this set up although it is a touch more challenging, I'll use my NV Mono to get around at pace, then once in a clearing switch to the Thermal for target ID, advance using the Thermal & eliminate the enemy. Recently added some 3d printed hex lens protectors to fend off those pesky bb's, although have run a Thermal for a few years now, never had an issue & the germanium lens is tough as f**k, but never say never hence the addition of the lens protector(s) 2- NV Mounted COTI (Clip on Thermal Imager) - Currently runs with a NV Mono (although binos are due today), overlays a Thermal Image onto the NV objective lens, effectively giving you green Thermal, nowhere near as good as a decent Thermal scope, but will up the NV ability considerably as even the best NV can struggle under poor conditions / dense canopy etc. Couple of pics below, caveating that I am not an NV or Thermal expert & have come to these set ups under my own previous experience & recommendations from others2 points -

Just felt like posting a pic or twoβ¦since my G&p A1 receiver bought it in the flames, I just had the βburningβ desire to create a new version. Managed to literally dig from the embers, my army code barrel AND front sight!!! And decided to go gbb. I also had an a2 gbb but that wasnβt so fortunate, and is one for the nice insurance man to sort. anyways, just the upper mods to do and the engravingβ¦. For the purists out there; my G&p thumbscrew mount acog is cremated so this will have to do atm, and for reference, the peq-2 is an invisiblesight IR version I was lucky to have safe at my sonβs.1 point

Losing airsoft guns at German customs used to be a thing for a while if they were posted with a certain courier as they went via a German hub or some BS. So even if it was legal in the country of sale and destination country, German customs would intercept. Perhaps that worry is from that.1 point -
I am actually self isolating for the next 10 days as I head off to Cape Verde for some 27 degree sunshine on the 23rd. I'll be damned if I get sick for it. I have been feeling generally low and meh for the past week. But probably to do with the travel vaccinations I had in one hit. Two weeks after we come back we go to Paris, going Army Surplus hunting (Don't tell the wife I fully intend to come back with three full sets of uniform, F2 Dageut, F1 Olive and F2 CCE). Hope you feel better bud.1 point

I still think it extremely unlikely that you would be a) Pulled over and b) Have all your guns on display to warrant being worried about it. Yes, it MIGHT happen but then again so might getting hit by a bus. Police don't just randomly pull you for no reason and as there is no border......though one of my early memories is my Mum smuggling cheap meat from Holland to Germany when there was still a border LOL1 point -

https://www.airsoftwholesaleuk.com/Wholesale-blog/li-ion-airsoft-batteries-showdown-oper8-vs-titan-power/ I'll just leave this here. It does state that the cells used in these Li-Ion airsoft packs are capable of up to 95A burst. The simple fact of the matter though is that there is plenty of people out there using these batteries that don't seem to be having any issues. Don't get me wrong, if mine all die in 6 months time I'll be happy to come forward and let everyone know but they certainly don't seem to be showing any adverse signs so far. I've definitely had LiPo packs puff up in less time!1 point

Thatβs great thanks for spending the time to post, good to know Iβve something to build upto in the futureβ¦.your NV stuff flir? The mono does this attach to your helmet, trying to build a pictureβ¦.photos most welcome! Does make me wonder as the night vision would allow you run around more, if itβs pitch black I already know using a scope to see and move might lead to some issues! So then I suspect a monocular is the answer there but doesnβt NV need illumination all the time? Then If a torch is used it will be like a target beacon I imagine. Regarding the doubles Iβm now having images of metal gear solidβ¦β¦love it π Iβd seen that scope you have, itβs nice because it doesnβt look out of place either since it actually looks like a scope and not a thermal device would. Sometimes you see them at cut down prices on eBay but I think this stuff ideally needs warranties. Itβs fair comment, did you look into how much something basic would cost to allow you to use NV? Iβve watched some videos and unless itβs a milsim it seems in everyday games people who have goggles on get pestered a lot on where the enemy is it seemsβ¦..canβt be much fun if so, if I had that gear Iβd be looking to get involved in some serious type missions for sure against similar load outs.1 point

Don't pull to much on the wires coming out of the plastic housing..they're quite delicate.... Mine didn't last long...so try not move from rifle to rifle like I did....think I pulled on the wires to much. (Couldnt' fix it either.) But still was very handy when it worked.1 point -
Joking aside, after being DESTROYED by people with decent NV, why would Poors pay to get rekt again? I'd be a little concerned that once you have enough people out there giving it the full Predator that they'll be the only people doing night games.1 point

While I'm not pooh-poohing any excuse to buy another RIF, why not give the Firehawk a bit of love? You can upgrade the motor without touching the gearbox, then there's a plethora of things you could do inside it: mosfet, thicker wiring, gears, short stroking.1 point -

Thanks! Had that second day today. What a blast. Was so much more fun having decent visibility as the rental are full face mesh. The goggles and mask married up almost perfect with no gap between them. Sweated my ass of and didn't fog up either as the Raiders are slim but full seal and vented. And the mesh lower was extremely comfortable and did the job perfect. Got shot in the ear at close range and heard a loud ping that no doubt would have been extremely painful if i didn't have ear pro. Also the fabric cheeks make welding to the stock very easy compared to the rental mask. So all in all very happy with my first purchases and my second game day1 point

Postman just brought me a modbutton w/RAMP (I only bought this one for the actual RAMP, because it was cheaper than buying the RAMP alone from the US and importing it.) However it has a silly huge jack on it, and being LH I would be using my RH thumb to hit it, so I need to swap the actual modbutton for one with a small angled connector.1 point

Gbls das Gdr 15 Skirmish Review
Mr Dellski reacted to Chev Chelios for a topic
Just got the wiring loom built by Cage/Perun. Micro switches look to have some sort of coating over the switch (the bit that the are pushes down on) so hoping it will live up to the hype of those water submersion videos that Cage posted. It use's an electronic "fuse" so finally that shitty blade fuse in the stock is gone along with basic tone info beeps, low battery and tripped fuse. first impressions seem to be good. Anyone want an photos of any of the insides while I install it? Hight of the pinon against the bevel se t from factory ETC? On the subject of BBs, I have only ever run geoff's bbs, 0.32g Tracer and 0.36g SP. Touch wood never had a miss feed or crushed BB so wary of trying any thing else. This look interesting, a adapter that uses KWA 120 round EPM mags and still has bolt lock https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEeIW41gvg4 Good resource for maintenance and disassembly https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCctYtgnvuGhNogS7wxTE1-A/videos1 point -

Gbls das Gdr 15 Skirmish Review
Mr Dellski reacted to mightyjebus for a topic
yup, I got that wrong and you are correct. on another note I seem to have acquired another one. Things worth mentioning are: any attachment on the front end of the gun have a tendency to work themself loose because of the recoil so you need to make sure you tighten them up well or use some sort of thread lock. They destroy chinese optics or at the least throw off any zero within a couple of shots. The FPS is very consistant even to the point that I thought my chrono wasn't registering shots because the results were the exact same. The standard hop/inner barrel with a FPS of 320 feels very Marui like in accuracy and range. with the slightly higher FPS than a standard Marui it reaches out accurately to 60/65 meters once the hop is set (I'm using 0.3g BB's). because the trigger has a soft uptake before the break I'm finding that I can hold the trigger on the break for long periods before snapping of a very quick first shot and because the break is solid I'm not too worried about shooting myself in the foot by accident. I'm a few full days in now with these and I really don't feel like I want to go back to TM recoils, PTW's or GBB's. I'm not saying the GBLS is a better AEG but for me the shooting experience is better.1 point -
thats not correct, you donβt have to drill the lower. It can be locked to semi with fitting of a grub screw in the gearbox. Having done a GBLS DMR for a customer it was as simple as the above grub screw and a M120 spring and itβs doing 400 FPS.1 point

Mine just hit the 15k rounds mark with 0 issues and was bought off here second hand. I use it when I don't fancy lugging GBBR mags and accoutrements around all day. As far as recoil go's its a bit weird as its more on the forward stroke than into the shoulder but am probably spoilt with the feel of a GHK running direct fill Co2. Talk of GBLS bringing out a Pistol as well as a new rev to the mechbox so if it was me looking to buy one and I could hold off I would wait till this time next year for the new build. No issues with grip changes and the coof got the better of me so had it in bits to do a bit of waterproofing on the electronics and is no harder disassembly wise than its TM counter parts. Thanks for the write up and review mightyjebus was a good read. Obligatory bad photo1 point -
