Did some final changes to my helmet, I mixed and matched two caiman mandibles (a tan and black), the black one with shorter struts so it sits closer to the face and I can actually aim down my eotech. I'm not sure if I should use the Tan main part of the mandible instead of the black, I'll post a comparison pic soon. It's because I don't really like the colour of the tan on it, looks very plastic-y. There's a Foliage Green model of it that I might get and try that with (rest of my kit is all ranger green / multicam). TMC Flowing Helmet Light Ver. Assuming your site is regular limits; 1.13J =350fps on a 0.20 then you'll be fine. Even assuming you're using 0.28s at 270fps you'll be putting out about 0.95J So that should easily be under the limit. 👌2 points

Help Me Build a Disposable One-use Automatic Uzi
Jedi_Master and one other reacted to Tommikka for a topic
There are 3 core Uzi designs - Uzi, Mini Uzi & Micro Uzi. In Ghost in the shell they used Mini Uzis and the Skinny man version is a mini Uzi inside a shell. The original movie prop isn't sealed, its a two piece shroud that's screwed/bolted in place. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uzi#Mini_Uzi_carbine http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Ghost_in_the_Shell_(2017)#Skinny_Man_Uzi https://us.propstoreauction.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/151/lot/33628/?url=%2Fview-auctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F151%2F%3Fpage%3D3%26fbclid%3DIwAR2eMBVGQ14UooOpaaKGwGpRiJXlFfuz7AAmEQPiTyVJ2aP4VZI-kRgJL3k%26items%3D100 Whether it shoots or not, by making a copy of the movie prop you are either manufacturing or modifying a RIF (That is something that the average person might think is a firearm.). The legislation that will apply is the VCRA. Unless the purpose is one of the approved defences you would commit an offence by manufacturing/modifying - but nobody knows what you do in private. As you are making a number of them then this could imply you are selling them, which is again an offence if you sell to someone without a defence. These offences are committed by the seller, not the buyer and carry a considerable fine. Defences are - airsoft skirmishing, theatrical & film, reenactment, museums, & crown servants as prt of their duties. All of the above need to be at suitable venues and under Public Liability Insurance. If for a stage production, or film work (not YouTube) as part of a proper group then thats fine. Other common use for movie props are collectors & cosplayers. Neither of which are legal defences under the VCRA. (Professional Cosplay can qualify as theatrical, but turning up a a ComicCon as a ticketholder doesn't.) All UK ComicCons also have rules for attendees that restrict the look & function - they are not permitted to shoot (Even ComicCons that are 'tied' to the seller of the 'Cosplay defence' have rules that prevent attendees from having the RIFs that they would buy with that membership - but everyone knows that the Cosplay defence is a made up scheme to ignore the law and pretend to be legal) You can ignore the VCRA if you use a firearm (as a real firearm is not an imitation) An airgun is a real firearm and does not need a licence (except certain parts of the UK) but does still have restrictions on age and methods of sale/delivery. If you make a functioning one off that's sealed, then anyone possessing it are likely to be committing multiple offences under firearms legislation. There is an exemption from firearms legislation if specific airsfot criteria is adhered (VCRA still applies) but if its not for airsoft then it becomes a low power air weapon (air gun) and though not licensed the firearms act does apply. If minors have access to the property then its an offence to not have it securely locked away, transporting a loaded air weapon is an offence (loaded includes just one BB or pellet, or being aired up. Possessing an air weapon or an airsoft gun in a public place without good reason is an offence, even just posting it to your buyers would be an offence. Explain what you are actually intending to do, because that can reassure and let people understand the question2 points -
Not a New Player but Back After a Very Very Long Break and Have Some Questions
Rogerborg reacted to Graham Ranson for a topic
Hey everyone, so technically I'm not new just haven't played in well over 10 years but would love to get back into the game but have some questions. Namely about UKARA. I bought my stuff long before that all came in and then for the few years after that when I was still playing I didn't buy any new guns and played so sporadically that I never thought to get registered. I don't drive but am moving out of a middle-of-nowhere type location towards civilisation, cheltenham, which means I could potentially get over to Bristol via train for games at the courthouse however back when I used to play I was more a woodland person so only have long-guns which really wouldn't work in that sort of area. I'd rather not have to rent if I don't have to so was curious about the two-tone options. If I were to buy some two tones, play the requisite 3 games and get registered, how easy would it be for me to convert them to non-two tone. Presumably I couldn't just remove the paint as that kinda negates the point of doing it so was thinking I'd probably just have to replace the parts that have been painted. So not sure if it'd be better to sell them "as fairly new" at that point, swallow some losses, and then just buy non two-tone after that or just buy the replacement parts? Also side note, I am a programmer/game dev by trade and back in 2011 I released a little iOS/Android app called Airsoft Helper, I've no doubt there are more options now but I'd still be interested in creating some more apps so if anyone has any ideas of things they'd find helpful please let me know!1 point -

This is my gun, there are many like it.... Ok poor start. New Ghk mk18 owner, had a few gbbr and liked all but this is something else. Had a few upgrades and hoofing .32s nicely. Stuck a repro m2 Wilcox mount on the vortex so it's looking nice, g&p dbal for nods use and olight m2r torch. What I really like about the GHK is the gas efficiency and feel. Anyone else use these and have any thoughts? Love the look of those RAC headsets, how are they in terms of comfort and use?1 point -

I gave the salient points to PP. If they check the tracking they will see that Gunfire changed the destination address, but UPS decided that the package was both abandoned by myself and Gunfire and would be sent for destruction. I can see why Gunfire would wait on it. Once destroyed no one can make a claim at that point. I feel very sorry for Gunfire, but I think they didn't fill in the paperwork correctly initially which is why we are where we are. As soon as its won in my favour I need order the PPS shells from HK. That is two attempts from two different sellers to purchase PPS Shells now! Tiger111HK will sort me out.1 point

Aye, I know the dance by now. Thanks tho. The only thing was I swapped a SHS m4 nozzle for the original blue plastic nozzle (CYMA MP5) as around 3-4 months ago when I last opened it up it was firing over 350 on .2’s so I’m cautious of chucking that back in. I’ll have a fettle tonight and see what’s going on.1 point

I know them feels. It's good to be back. Yup, you're comfortably under, you could even go a bit higher. How was the air seal, and did you lube the o-rings? If not, a squirt of silicone oil down the nozzle (then blow it out on auto before reassembly) can perk up a tired toy.1 point

Need a Starting Kit for a Version 3 Gearbox
Lstann reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
i'd argue the v3 box is easier than the v2, although more due to it featuring in designs where getting it out of the gun in the first place is a hell of a lot easier. however for hpa that's much less relevant. i'd suggest having a read through here: the short version is for the most part simply installing an hpa engine into your standard v2/v3 box is gonna be pretty straightforward, at least compared to trying to work on them as conventional gearboxes. where you might struggle here is in the specific choice of the AEG. there are 2 key areas: the nozzle might be a different length, if it is then there tends to be a range of options available for each engine, although you may have to go with a longer nozzle and turn it down to length yourself. the 2-stage trigger. if i'm remembering AUG's (and owners can chime in on this to point out if i've gone wrong somewhere) but the first set of contacts uses the original ak style trigger/cutoff lever, with a second set of contacts mounted externally. you have 2 avenues to solve this: if you don't care about select fire (for example if you're building this as a cqb or dmr platform) and can forgo auto then you can likely use the standard v3 trigger board, you'll still be able to set it to auto via the fcu settings but this isn't a field expedient thing. if you do care about select fire/maintaining the 2-stage trigger then you can use the universal plugboard and wire it up to the original trigger contacts, can't say for sure having not tried it but i reckon it'd be a case of wiring the trigger normally and wiring the second set of contacts on the trigger to the selector contacts on the board.1 point -
I don't think you've considered a fictional, mass produced, single use firearm doesn't transfer well to a one off, bespoke, disposable airsoft gun. How do you envisage testing it? Or will that be your one and done single use? "Oh, it didn't work. What a waste of 10 hours. In the bin in goes".1 point

Help Me Build a Disposable One-use Automatic Uzi
Tackle reacted to Airsoft_87 for a topic
Ok. Ghost in The Shell 2017, there is a weapon that is a disposable one-use submachine. The one used in the movie is just an uzi that fires blanks with a shell to disguise it. I want to make a replica of that gun, but being faithful to the original design (image attached). It will be possible to be used just once, because the body I'm going to make won't be possible to be taken apart, so it can't be reloaded (not gas, battery, or bb's). I want to keep that part of the story in the weapon. So what worries me is just the guts of the weapon, because it just has to be pulling the trigger and that's it, because the actual weapon was just like that, simple, cheap. I hope I've been clearer this time🙏🙏 Thank you for your time anyway, Tackle! I knew it was going to be hard xD.1 point -
I'm sure you're right, but I'm invested now. What I suspect is that OP isn't making movie props, but wants to make shootable copies of a movie prop. I'm not sure why, but given that we spend our weekends playing with toy guns, who are we to judge? The thing is, most movie prop guns are based on real ones, so there probably is something that can be fettled into shape. Whether it's realistic and achievable, especially on budget and given the current stock situation, is another question. But dammit, I have to know.1 point

Help Me Build a Disposable One-use Automatic Uzi
Jedi_Master reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
what purpose does firing bb's serve in terms of the filmmaking? if you aren't using tracers then they're not gonna show up well on camera and i suspect requiring everyone on-set to be wearing eye protection might not be ideal. as mentioned a static prop, some theatrical shaking of said prop, and some time in post effects adding muzzle flash would surely be preferable? if it absolutely must be able to fire projectiles, then an off the shelf option is still going to be cheaper (especially if you sell it on after production) than trying to retrofit internals to a shell that doesn't have them.1 point -
Help Me Build a Disposable One-use Automatic Uzi
Jedi_Master reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
OK, now I'm really intrigued. I think we're talking different languages here and might have to find a common lexicon in the middle. We're thinking in terms of what we know about airsoft guns and what they can do: we generally buy a fully complete package, most of them can already shoot BBs full auto, and the internals aren't generally swappable between different types of gun. Electric guns tend to have gearboxes and motors that you might be able to repackage inside something else. But with gas guns the body of the gun is generally functional and modification tends to be more about sticking cosmetics on them. If I'm understanding you right, you want to create replicas of a specific theatrical firearm (that's submachine gun sized), and have them be able to shoot BBs. That's opposed to creating actual theatrical props for use on film. Or did I get that wrong? In either case, the clearer and more specific you can be, the better. If you're making replicas of something that already exists, can you let us know what that is? That might help us to suggest a base platform that you can modify, or something that has the most appropriate internals to repurpose.1 point -

Why does a movie prop need to fire BBs? If you want something impossible to disassemble, that you need a bunch of and are cheap, sounds like you need some rubber prop guns and some editing skills to make it look like it's shooting.1 point -
Yup, the AOLS I just got was pretty oily, but cleaned up nicely. Accuracy is unknown, but the 110mm in my MP5K is fine, and they both do a good job in keeping the puff behind the BB.1 point

Fps Issue - Gg M4
Gareth2021 reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
Great, that's an improvement, and that's what I'd expect from an M100 spring. 100 is notionally 100 metres = 328 feet on 0.2g. Aside I can't be doing with 0.2g fps numbers, as who's using 0.2g BBs these days? But we are where we are. With a long barrel and heavier BBs you want a bit more puff behind them, so if you're happy that it's as good as it's going to get, I'd also agree that dropping a bigger spring in make sense now. If it comes in over, then you can chop off a coil or just heat the end over a lighter until it just starts to glow and squish the final coil in, which will drop the power a little. I can't find any information on the diameter of your barrel, only the length, so the other thing you might consider is a tighter bore barrel. @ak2m4 is the go-to for gear, and while I'd normally recommend ZCI, I've also had good experiences with AOLS and have just dropped this (in-stock) 455mm into my DMR. https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/inner-barrels/aols-aeg-inner-barrel-455mm That's getting me a very decent 1.7 - 1.8J out of an M130 spring, which is slight more than you'd notionally expect. I'm going by this listing of your gun which claims a 463mm barrel. You should of course check, and it's fine to go shorter on barrels: once the puff from the cylinder runs out, the barrel is really just getting in the way.1 point -

Carried out some changes to my 10.3" URGI-1 over the last few weeks. Some because I simply fancied a change but others because I have taken some things I like from my MRE build and wanted to transfer them onto this much modern rifle. I was going to swap out the front end entirely and build up an 11.5" barrel complete with a Geissele MK4 rail. But I just love the compactness of the 10.3" and I know its a very common rail in the safe zone, but the URGI is just fantastic and it would take something pretty special to beat it IMO, in terms of its slim profile and ergonomics. So the 4 prong SF Flash Hider has gone in favour for a SF closed-tine. Think of it like a modern day bird cage flash hider. (Both made by Angry Gun) The Magpul hand stop has been replaced with a TrueNorth Concepts Handstop-K a much smaller profile and takes advantage of the slim design of the urgi rail. Having really missed the ambi fire selector fitted to my MRE I wanted the same on the urgi albeit a little more modern. So enter the PTS Radian Talon ambi selector, which is very well made and offers solid/precise manipulation. I was so impressed with the PTS fire selector I coupled it with their licensed version of the Radian Raptor-LT charging handle. I love the vertical shooting position of the Magpul MOE K2 Pistol Grip, but prefer the rubber grip that the Hogue offers on my MRE. Luckily Magpul make the 'K2+' which is an overmolded grip with rubber, giving me the best of both worlds. I've now fitted a Angry Gun Milspec buffer tube as it has worked flawlessly on my MRE and takes out any slop with genuine stocks. This has been followed with a SixG HSB to improve single shot performance, I've tested it and it works very well indeed. Looking forward to testing it further in game! Lastly as much as I'm a fan of the small form factor of the Magpul MOE SL-K, I just miss shouldering a rifle with a CTR fitted. Let's be honest that stock suits any build even if its been around for a while now! A Magpul enhanced magazine release, and Magpul ODG magazine pulls are also on route... Thanks for reading my update, another post from a geardo/geek!1 point
