It's actually pretty simple to wire them up. Don't forget heat shrink, you don't want to accidentally short circuit the battery. 16AWG is what I use. Not all wire of a given gauge can be considered equal though.2 points -

My input, I run it one of 2 ways normally: - Stock with deans + barrel/hop rubber upgrade - "Upper half build" + fet - so piston+head, nozzle, spring guide and spring, bearings, mosfet and barrel+hop. I keep the gears the same until they go bang. I normally take one built rifle with me, plus a stock version so i know that if the upgraded one shits the bed, I can always go with one I know works (touch wood) and have no more drama's.2 points

Stumbled across this by chance and thought I'd share it: https://www.basingstokegazette.co.uk/news/19178437.police-called-covid-breach-seven-people-travelled-airsoft-game-beggarwood/ I suppose part of me isn't surprised that there haven't been more reports of similar activity over the course of the successive lockdowns but let's all be honest, it's more negative publicity which the hobby simply doesn't need. For a silver lining, at least the author gave a pretty reasonable, unbiased, description of what airsoft is.1 point

Thank you both for the replys, Iceni, I'm new to the forum, but have been ti kering with guns for a while. Fully Aware the BBs I used for testing were blaster devil 0.2s. Which was the same ammo I used to validate the spring in masada. Thank you though appreciate the time and and handy chart to use for reference in the future. EDcase, thank you for the warm welcome. You may be on to something here! Regarding a frame spring! I can't see a spring on the hop unit ( other than for the nub). Should there be one over the barrel pushing the hop unit back on to the nozzle? If so I think you might have the answer! I haven't worked on m4s before belive it or not! Thank you!! Edcase, You are right! It's missing a spring pushing the hop unit back into the nozzle! Thank you so much. Just got to find a spring now! Finger crossed that fixes it! Will update when I have found a spring! Thanks again!1 point -

I don't want to rub salt into the wounds but to give a glimmer of hope that all is not doom and gloom ordering from Europe now. I took a chance and ordered a rare RIF from an unknown site in Italy called TITANO-STORE Ordered: Monday 15th. No confirmation email π€ Wed 17th. Asked for update. They replied it would go in afternoon. Not feeling confident Thursday 18th. Got email just with DHL tracking number. Estimated delivery 24th Today 22nd Surprise package arrives π² No extra fees to pay!!! So I would recommend Titano-Store from my limited experience. ...and what did I get...? https://www.titano-store.com/en/c/airsoft-c28617/rifles-displayed-by-model-c28842/lr300-c29132/lr300-full-metal-aandk-lr300-p939142 Β£165 including delivery EDIT: While the delivery was good, the rifle itself is not so good. Looks like someone has been in it and messed up a few screws. I didn't ask for any power adjustment and they didn't mention any so I suspect its a dodgy return they had and passed on to me. Not going to bother returning.1 point -
You'll be looking at around Β£300 for the lower and about another Β£250 for the upper for CNC billet receivers. The other problem you'll have is that very few companies make them for standard AEGs, they mostly cater for the GBB and PTW markets so none of your internals will fit. You could look at Retro Arms as I believe they do an AEG receiver set but then you'll still have compatibility issues because...Retro Arms. Weirdly, a lot of the plastic receivers out there are sturdier than the cheap cast alloy ones but if you want one that won't break the bank and should fit your Specna internals then take a look at the E&C sets (from @ak2m4 when he gets them in stock) as they are pretty good. I have a couple of builds with them on and they've been rock solid.1 point

We GBBR Opinions
FreeFrag.UK reacted to Nick G for a topic
I use red mainly because i like the little bit of extra kick , and it hasn't caused me any issues so far. Tend to run my pistols on it too. Obviously it's better in colder weather anyway. I've got the L85, G36C and my L119 which is based on a WE M4. The Stanags suffer more with cooldown than the G36 ones . I find keeping a hand warmer in the mag pouches helps in cold weather . The 'double' Stanag is quite nice, more rounds and a much bigger gas reserve, however they make the L85 a bit awkward due to the bulpup design. The hop in the L85 and M4 platform is a bit of a faff to adjust but is fine once dialed in. The G36 hop is much easier to adjust. All of mine have an NPAS fitted so I can set the fps on any given day. The bolt stop on the M4 is a bit hit and miss , I'm looking into fitting a real steel one, just waiting for it to arrive. Worth replacing the hop rubber, I use Maple Leaf which I find work well for me. I havn'y had any serious failures with any of them, the usual GBB O ring issues now and then and that's about it. They get striped and serviced regularly which I enjoy . When parts fail I'll take a view on replacing with stock or 'upgraded' parts but so far I've not had to replace anything. I know WE are not everyones cup of tea , but I have the GBBRs and probably half a dozen pistols from them and havn't had any issues with any of them .1 point -
Nope. Itβs in the buffer tube. Unscrew it. Take the old one out. Put a new one in. Voila. A NGRS gearbox is not like a conventional V2 gearbox.1 point
-
Hi @MiniLuxy I have the original TM buffer tube and it was still too tight. It does move but not as freely as you would like. The original TM buffer has at least 1mm clearance and in other areas more. It is only the exterior of the end cap that needed some mass removing but it didnβt take long. With a decent diamond file I took the required material off. Cleaned it off and tested it until it moved freely. Once there was enough material off I used 240 grit sandpaper to smooth it. Then 600 to get it smoother still. I then moved to wet and dry with a little gun oil starting at 1000 grit, then 1500 grit, then 2000 grit, finishing with 2500. Make sure to clean off the buffer in between sand papers. It took some time but was worth it. If you donβt feel confident and you can get it to me, Iβll do it for you, I live in Nottingham. If you are happy to do it yourself and want a little more guidance, Iβm happy to help with any information you need. Cheers Sean1 point

Don't worry Chris. As has been said, good eye protection and ankle support boots are the only essentials to worry about. Its great you have all the kit already π It may seem a bit intimidating and confusing at first. Find a place to set up and get your kit sorted. You'll start chatting to people around you who will likely be happy to help you if you have any questions. (If they aren't friendly find a different spot) Listen to the instructions of the organisers/marshals and follow your team to the start point. Then just follow what everyone else is doing π By lunchtime you'll be one of the regulars π1 point

I get that feeling and I absolutely have no problem with anyone giving their RIF the "Trigger's broom" treatment. However people spend their money is up to them. If they get enjoyment from it, crack on. I always come back to that; it has to be fun and enjoyable. And I was there for your last "you do you" comment π When I got my M14 upgraded I knew exactly what I wanted; revert it back from the DMR conversion cluster that had happened, replace the Fisher Price-sized Tamiya to Deans and fit a MOSFET (Warfet). It's now incredible. With my TM though, I'm overthinking it, and trying to fix something that doesn't need it. Honestly, if the TM 416s were wired like any normal M4-style AEG, I'd have swapped the stock over and been happy π1 point
-
I've largely given up on trying to figure out where I fall, the NGRS I own has all the bells and whistles in it and I bought it second hand as such (I've used stock ones for a few games, but don't own one so there is a definite degree of hypocrisy on my side). I guess I very much subscribe to 'you do you hun' (though I should be careful throwing that around after what happened last time), and accept that often buying something that simply doesn't improve something and having to swallow the pride and rip it out just comes with the territory. When it comes to buying shit our brains often take over, the reaction generally dictated by subconcious (and occasionally entirely concious) expectations. Which is why it's good to know what it is you actually want to improve, I knew I wanted a MOSFET (happens to be a Titan but that wasn't a specific I was after) because I'm coming back to AEGs from HPA and wanted to keep as close to the instantaneous action as I could. I dare say unless it's a RIF exclusively for CQB ther aren't many that would actively turn down the opportunity for more range, that's just a matter of weighing up what it's costing you (and not in the financial sense). The general concensus seemingly being that reliability/longevity (they seem to be used interchangably in this hobby despite not really meaning the same thing), I'm more than happy to conceed the RIF needing more maintenance/throwing a strop and having to go back in the car on a game day for those improvements. It's all very subjective based on your own list of priorities you want for/from a RIF. Once you've got that list squared away, you're golden .1 point

We GBBR Opinions
Nick G reacted to FreeFrag.UK for a topic
@EDcase Admittedly, I previously owned a Tokyo Marui MWS and parted with it, somewhat reluctantly, for a few different reasons. Admittedly I never found that I suffered against AEG's in terms of volume of fire/rate of fire but I'm perhaps in the minority that runs low/real cap's and tends to favour semi-auto (I do use short bursts depending on the circumstances) over full auto. I was curious as to your position and reasoning on the matter, hence the question, I definitely appreciate your thoughts and feedback. Part of the draw for returning to a GBBR for my primary is that I find the maintenance far easier (and less stressful) than AEG's. @Nick G I'm a bit surprised to hear that you run them on red all year round, out of curiosity why is this? As a further curiosity which three GBBR's do you run from WE? Are there any particular pitfalls (or other quirks/traits) to be aware when venturing into WE's GBBR's?1 point -
Tm Ngrs - to Upgrade or Not?
Enid_Puceflange reacted to AlphaBear for a topic
Ahhhh to upgrade or not to upgrade thatβs the question.... the answer fortunately is simple. Do you want to lob that bb an extra 10m to 15m with reasonable right groupings? If so then some simple upgrades are as follows. Iβll categorise these as evasive and non-evasive. Basically evasive means you need to crack open the gearbox. 1. Non evasive - a prommy spring guide ( the one with the bearings). This will bump up your FPS by 5-10 depending on the compression. 2. Prommy tight bore (speaks for itself). FPS bump approx 5-10fps. 3. Prommy purple hop with a soft Prommy nub. Iβd flat hop it. Nothing else. Forget about S-hop and all other hops. Waste of time. In fact the prommy purple will lift up to 0.32 standard. in fact don't bother with the flat hopping.... leave the purple as is.. Evasive upgrades. 4. Power spring. Installing this means you need to crack up the gearbox. You have options on how to install the spring. Note the stock spring is attached to the Piston. Check the videos out. 5. Iβd change the nozzle for one with an internal o-ring. The stock Marui nozzles donβt have these. Upgrading a NGRS is really a piece of cake. Except when you have to install a Titan and then you need to mill out a bit of the gearbox.1 point -
