Just to wade back in on the keymod fitting issue... I just fitted a PTS keymod rail section with no issues. How? Just use the larger EKey openings for the mount points and pop them in from the reverse side. Job done. Pics below.

Well, time to necro. So a few things have happened since my last update. First, the guy making my stock went AWOL. And has been so for about a year and a half... And he kept my gun... Honestly I kind of gave up after that. The Echo1 ZB-30 is a discontinued gun and I paid around 400 quid for mine, so I wasn't really wanting to buy another, assuming I could even find one. So I kind of shelved the entire thing. I did continue to work on the uniform though, as I figured I could still make a Spetsnaz loadout or something. I built up a decent SSG gearbox for my PP-19-01, and successfully modified it to take a Taginn Tag-015 launcher. These are ultra rare launchers from Taginn - lost of people know of the ML-36, but the Tag-015 is the AK variant. It was only made in small batches, and was rather quickly discontinued due to lack of interest from the community. Taginn launchers are kind of ridiculously expensive, even though they are worth it, and more people run guns with under-mounted RISs than people run AKs, by a large margin. Plus the ML-36 has a standalone kit. However I happened across a sale of one that was leaking, for around 300 quid. A steal in my book, and all it took was a quick replacement/restoration of the o-rings inside. Some external modification was needed - the LCT PP-19-01 is a short barreled gun and doesn't have a standard AK front sight block. But I added a barrel extension and cut it just enough to fit the launcher. I also use larger batteries than can fit in the upper receiver, so I had a custom battery tube made that fits inside of the Zenitco stock. Finally I have a real Kobra sight that came off my real steel KR-9 to use as its optic. The gun is now perfectly fieldable and fits two three preferred roles; SMG and AT. Again, my whole point of this kit was to simultaneously keep as close to the character as possible, but accept modifications to actually make the kit usable at a weekend-long MilSim. However I am not entirely happy with it, and am actually making a Titan build that I will likely replace it with. My Maruzin PPK/S was replaced by a bronze-kitted Maruzin PPK. Its slightly longer than the PPK/S, and 100% cooler looking. I also finished my vest setup - it now allows for 6 PP-19-01 mags (8 total with the two in the gun), two PPK mags, two TRMRs, a SWAT VTG, 5 Taginn rounds, radio, genuine Soviet canteen (not gonna ever drink out of that lol), and a satchel on the back for an HPA tank and bladder. I bought a few more uniforms - my Chechen ATACs is cold-weather gear, and we don't really get that here in the Southern US. I now have Berezka, Partizan, Fall Partizan, EMR, and Desert EMR (I can't find the official name for the pattern, but its an arid variant of EMR). I also got a second Maska-1 and painted it to somewhat match the Fall Partizan pattern. At this point my kit was fully fieldable. At this point I thought I was done. I had a few options for a Russian loadout, and could even use it at MilSims for both sides. The Tachanka dream could be laid to rest...until last week... Im browsing HopUp (a popular sellers forum here in the US), and come across a sale post for a working Echo1 ZB-30, for 200 quid. It was missing its charging handle, and more importantly its butt-pad. A quick search shows both parts - as well as replacement internals - can be bought online. So I bought the gun, and The Lord lives again! A new charging handle assembly, butt-pad, and metal flash hider (original was plastic) were ordered soon after. The gun arrived yesterday, and the other parts should be here Tuesday. In the meantime I took measurements and begun CADing for the mag adapter. I didn't want to do anything too permanent, as I'd like the ability to keep this thing as a ZB-30/MG-30 if desired. So far it looks like it'll be either a 2 or 3 part print; the first is ready for printing (I didn't get much sleep last night haha). However my printer is being a PITA right now, so I'm sort of on hold for now. Ill keep y'all updated!

charging wise I'll agree AEG build wise, some bespoke micro switch gearbox stuff not thought through in other areas some stuff is OK & this where stickers/branding gets costly as usually it's just oem SHS/RA with a Nuprol sticker costing an extra £10 or so Are conspiracy theorists completely mad or just ahead of the curve...

pretty much same ol' same ol' from me I guess would have thought most would know the gist by now SHS HT will fit the bill in many 7.4v cases on 18:1 or 13:1 depending on what you are aiming for or just push 11.1v on lame stock motors - eg: AK with a large battery space stock like 28a or M4 with spacious fixed stock £30 for new motor is a fair bit of an investment but worth it in numerous cases though at the same time, you can get similar results (11.1v) for little outlay if possible just weigh up the options and take a calculated stab at it and do it the best you can yes should have said SHS HT (without the maths & faff) but just showing my workings out to explain my reasoning I know I waffle but try to simplify it jeez some of them calculations on gear ratios & relation to motor speeds & final rps is like a friggin' Oxford Maths paper at times, when in many cases all that geek shit is way OTT gear ratio = bevel gear rotations to complete cycle x 3 motor rpm / gear ratio (x10) = rough ball park figure of expected rps on 7.4v (x1.55 for expected rps on 11.1v) no calculator or pen/paper required though my fingers hurt at times & I go through keyboards every couple of months

Swear you have this stuff on a copy paste basis now @Sitting Duck 👍 I don't know what ratio that brick you have runs, but assuming 18ish:1 then a decent 22000 motor on an 11.1 pulling 340 FPS will get you around the 20s on ROF. You WILL NEED active brake for that. Or run a 9.9 LiFe which will get you in the mid/high teens without active braking.

It will depemd what torch. I picked up an FMA G17L holster and will be trying it out this weekend. I use a we glock 17 and have fitted a surefire x300 replica.

Decided to keep this in the end, cybergun licenced king arms python . Spent hours re-boring the cylinder to take the multi-shot shells from the kwc python and upping the gas output to find it doesn't perform as well as the kwc. Ah well its prettier with the trades and more accurate frame shape. Grip angle/shape is way uncomfortable compared to the grips of all colt python replicas I have had though.

To anyone wanting to modify "bakelite" type plastics. Dremel, sand or cut them at your own leisure but older western thermosplastics, and any russian thermosplastics are very likely to contain asbestos. Perfectly safe unless you disturb the material buy cutting or abrasing.

No problems with it yet but I've only used it about 4 games. Heads up though you do need a file a bit off the Perun so it doesn't get caught on the sector gear so it's not plug and play. The process is described in the manual; not difficult but probably not a job for someone that isn't confident to mess inside an AEG.

bought this with a few issues. Replaced the bevel gear, replaced the motor with a 25k one and fitted a Titan along with a bearing spring guide. shoots very well now and will get a run out this Sunday. Cosmetically replaced the boot stock and the only stock I had floating around was the green one but doesn't look to bad in my eyes.

Mate, all of what you've said I already know, & I get it, we know the vcra is flawed in so many ways, but it's all we've got, lol the alternative could have been Airsoft kit that looks like NERF, or maybe no toys at all 😭 But the elephant in the room is that this is a VERY public forum, Reg is a kid & not only is he asking for ways round the vcra, he's admitting that he's prepared to break the "law" (?) to get what he wants, these conversations have been played out many times before, ultimately we shouldn't be entertaining them, doesn't help when he's already had one or more (?) threads discussing what kit to get, gas or aeg etc, which implies to us that he's older & legit to buy, when in fact that's not the case. Personally I get a bit pissed off with it, the fact that it's in the open has the potential to put everything at risk for the rest of us, only a couple of moody incidents to put Airsoft in the front page & then this crap gets scrutinized, & then God knows what ? Personally I've got too much time & money, like many here, invested in playing & I want to keep doing it. The info that Reg seeks is out there, replicated numerous times, he could look for it without "bumping" the subject up there for every anti "gun" lobby to see. Not digging you out Rog, or anyone one else, just we need to be more careful, I wouldn't even care if members like Reg contacted other experienced members or even mods by PM to clarify what they can or cannot do. You can get a 11.1v lipo in there, but be warned it is a very snug fit. I did some wiring work to make it fit.

Bought a broken SCAR L CQB recoil and after a bit of TLC it's back up and running. Upgrades are in the post. I'm toying with fitting the angry gun stock pipe but can't make up my mind on which stock to fit.

My G&G RK74-E painted in Patrizan/SS Leto camo. My first attempt with rattle/spray cans. Used the Landscape-camo stencil kit. Unfortunately not an exact colour match to my chest rig. The tan/sand colour is a little too light but I'll dull it down and dirty it up to match and the green is slightly darker on the gun. But I'm happy with my first and only attempt at this sort of thing.

Not for me, maps, taskings, important area photos etc if you had a chest mounted camera surly all you'd see if arms meeting in the middle holding a gun? For the above reasons and also personally there are times when I HAVE to have Comms on the field with me be it marshalling or playing. Don't need to defend the reasons but if I have to have it why not have it in a decent protected area and in such a way it's always accessible

For paintball you want the p8ntballer forum that has been linked I’m a moderator over there, so feel free to join and post up some more about you (where have you played, what do you like about paintball etc - there’s an abundance of choice on paintball styles in the UK) Though there is ‘banter’ between paintball and airsoft, most people understand that these are similar hobbies shared by like minded people who enjoy a day our shooting their mates without being arrested. Age is irrelevant to both activities, if you can go out and have a sense of humour then you can get on in paintball or airsoft
