  1. Heavier is denser is harder is less elastic is more impulse is hurtier feels. 1J of dry sponge, or 1J of tungsten? Same energy. There's also the issue of chronoing, and abuse or even the genuine miscomprehension we've seen here occasionally about what "350fps" means. I got a cracker of a bruised fingertip at about 30 feet from an HPA pistol months ago that's still not fully cleared up. I ran and told a grown up, the guy got chronoed, and came in under 350. They use site 0.2g at the morning chrono-theatre, but I suspect just trusted him on the weight when chronoed in-game.

~3 months, £56 customs fee & a few Parcelforce complications later... Volante 6061 T6 aluminium slide, barrel and RMR housing for TM FNX! Will post pics once fitted. Could have bought 2 brand new TM FNXs with how much that ended up costing 🤕

  3. I pulled a nose hair out today, to see if it hurts as much as people say it does. Judging by the way the man beside me on the bus reacted, it really does.

  4. When you use very heavy BBs at CQB distances, it only serve to increase pain on your target. Pure and simple. I wouldn't necessarily have a problem with this - except that kids play airsoft too. And at that point it just becomes cruel. Fortunately my sons opted out of playing the Bunker on Sunday, and after I showed them my 'war wounds' from the day, they very much affirmed that they have no desire to play there themselves. So with that in mind, I understand why some CQB sites will set a weight limit on the BB's.
    2 points
  5. No idea - infliction of pain? At the ranges we were shooting at, there was no need for additional 'accuracy'. It's about energy retention of the BB during it's flight. Muzzle energy is measured at the muzzle (obvs) - not 20-30ft away at your target. Try putting the muzzle on your thigh and firing a shot point blank- THAT is 1J of muzzle energy. And painful. Lower weight BB's are faster out of the gun, but shed their energy quicker than slower moving, but much heavier BBs. Felt force on the target will always be higher with heavier BB's, especially at CQB ranges.

  6. Hate anything covering my face, literally prefer being shot in the face.... and I do.... all the time lol Yeah, marshaling wasn't the issue for me either. Sometimes they can't fix a poor day. And honestly, weirdly, one of my favourite things in Airsoft is a sweet mutual. Trading hits with a player, fist bump and a compliment of "well played" then back to respawn. I love it.

  8. Oh, that's fair enough, this is a CQB site with a 0.25g limit. You're not going to get much creep from 0.2 to 0.25g, and I'd prefer them chronoing with known 0.2g rather than taking folks' word on what they're using. Of course, that's still pointless if Harry HPA nudges his nob and/or slings 0.4g in there. They should be testing with site BBs during the day as well. That said, credit for even doing an in-game chrono at all.
    1 point
  9. Exactly. I'm no Sheldon Cooper when it comes to physics, but even I understand joule creep and how heavier bbs affect muzzle energy. Personally I've no problem with cqb sites banning heavier bbs as the advantages only become apparent at ranges greater than found in cqb and adjusting the hop up shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes

  12. Sorry, had to go back and double check, my npas was the fg airsoft adjustable nozzle, which doesnt seem to be made anymore, got myself mixed up😅 but the fg airsoft one was rubbish, would be good if the RA tech version is better my bad for getting confused over what i bought a few years back😅 the new feed lips look really cool, and i almost ponied up for a set, for me i ended up using a round file and widening the standard lips slightly, cant say if its stopped any potential cracks yet, but made them easier to load, and haven’t suffered any side effects of that yet

  13. I should imagine other aspects will be cheap too. When I'm in Presov, Slovakia the beer is usually 80 euro cents to 1 eur and you can get a taxi anywhere in the city for EUR 2.50! Hope you enjoy! Some useful Slovak: Dakujem (jack-coo-yem) - Thank you. Prosim si ucet (pross-im sea ooh-chet) - Please may I have the bill. Hod sa jebat....(hodge sa ye-batch)....actually I'm not going to translate that one. Try it on a pretty lady though 😉 Fun fact, that was filmed in The Czech Republic but one of the conditions was that they didn't set it there. Besides, not trusting "mega hot chicks" is just good common sense.

  14. I am spending three nights in Vienna. It's not that I didn't fancy the other places, it's more for simplicity in terms of getting their. A single train with no changes and damn cheap! I haven't ever really "Travelled" before. This is only the 2nd time I have gone on a multi centre holiday and the first time I have solely organised one.

    Hop arm pressure.

It's a matter of the hop arm not pushing down enough rather than hop rubber hardness tbf. Back when I wasn't running Maxx hop units I used to shim my tensioners with half of a standard tube tensioner (tensioner-ception) placed between the hop arm and actual tensioner. A square piece of hop rubber will also do, as @Adolf Hamstersuggested, but try to place it between the arm and Omega nub.
    1 point
  17. you could try a softer compound? go with the 50/60 degree? other option which i've done, more for gbb hops but in theory it should work for an aeg is a little square of aeg hop rubber as a shim.

  19. The nozzle, when looking in the hop unit from the magwell, should be blue. Older ones were clear. The gearbox casing should be silver, older ones were black. The cylinder should be shiny dark silver, older ones were brass.

  20. Personally, if you're comfortable with soldering I'd recommend doing it yourself. There are a couple of options you can do. There are some bars in the stock that are a gold colour, you can solder your wire to the bars. These bars have a contact with the wire that runs up the stock tube. Think Eagle6 has a video on youtube for this, if not there must be a youtube video on this method. My preference is to solder directly to the wires that run along the bottom of the stock tube and effectively cut the bars out of the system. This makes swapping stocks easier and I personally see it as another thing that could go wrong has been removed, including a reduction to the resistance of the whole circuit. The TM stocks also have the stock batteries partially visible as standard, so when you do the first method generally people have the wires partly on show or try to cover it with tape and it never seems to work.

  22. i can see where you're going with shaving down the tappet, personally i'd be looking more towards increasing the tension on the tappet, take a couple of coils off its spring kinda thing. issue with shaving down the tappet is going too far and goodbye feeding. short-stroking won't really help the nozzle timing, especially teeth off the release side as it'll be releasing the piston even earlier relative to when the tappet is released. hence i tend to lean more towards taking teeth from the pickup side. although granted it will help if the problem is pme rather than tappet timing.

  23. It says on the website that its made of aluminum 6000 series but not specifically which one. Viper techs are made of 6061 T6 aluminum just like the real thing. Does anyone know which aluminum is used in building Silverback DesertTech SRS A2 sniper guns. Is it some pot metal stuff or is it similar to the aluminum used in viper techs? Thanks

  24. this in semi or auto? 27k+13:1+11.1v does sound like it's sailin for pme territory... pme would usually only manifest in auto so unless it's double tapping in semi you shouldn't be getting issues between motors. the only other issue aside from pme is if the tappet plate just ain't keeping up with the rest of the box, ie the gun's firing before the plate has time to close and losing air. usually an auto thing but given the warheads pickup rate i suppose it ain't out of the question for it to happen in semi.

  25. TK45c Black Cherry here, love the thing. While mine is a bit more upgraded than what comes out the box, it functions great. Id personally avoid the recoil version as its just another thing to break, and like all mechanical systems it *will* break eventually. Nowadays I tend to run LMGs over SMGs so its often a loaner, but when I do go SMG its one of the two AEGs I bring along (my MPX being the other), while my MP7 and PP-91 Kedr are my HPA SMGs of choice.

Nope no signs of pre engagement I initially tried this with the same gears but short stroked by 3 teeth and my first thought was ot didn't like the short stroking so I grabbed a new set of gears and just changed out the sector gear issue still persists. I do have a delayer chip installed I have tried it with and without with the same result

  27. Any idea why they even allow that weight of BB there? There's no reason to use anything heavier than 0.25g in indoor CQB sites, and even that's flexing. Maybe be the change you want to see? I call hits in very-CQB when people even point at gun at me, even if they're shooting dry. They're never going to believe they missed, because their gnu is a laser and they're a Delta Beret Ninja. Arguing the toss just leaves two people grumpy and aggrieved, and they'll be convinced that you didn't call their hit, so they'll be less likely to call yours, right?

Heres the JAL link https://www.jal.co.jp/jba/ba/en_GB/baggage/banned_baggag.html I normally search for "toy gun" on google with the airline as some classify firearms and replica's differently. I've been keeping an eye on Japan tourism since my 2020 and then the rescheduled 2021 was cancelled, so hopefully planning for late November and plan on being sensible (mags, gears, barrels) or going all out n going on a TM binge of an FNX, mk46 and mp5

  30. @MAX DICKER And that's why I run paintball goggles pretty much exclusively for Airsoft these days, especially CQB. Played at Portsmouth's Bunker on Sunday (I'm assuming yours is the Welsh one) for the first time and my god, those nutters (read: regulars) were running super heavy BB's , the chrono marshall was saying that some were running .36s to .40s. In an underground CQB bunker with around 15-20ft of visibility after a few Pyros went off - I experienced some of the most painful hits I've had playing in 16-17 years. Also had some similar issues to you - trading with players a 5ft range and them refusing to take the hit, being accused of cheating, despite a Marshall watching me, and only me, during the entire game whilst I was holding a key bottleneck on the field (he told the accusing player to basically fuck off - top bloke IMO). Both sides whinging about hit taking in the safe zone yadda yadda yadda.... But to be fair, the Marshalls were pretty spot-on dealing with the problems throughout and that's why I would play there again - just with a tracer unit and the heaviest tracer BB's I can lay my hands on next time.

  37. When I went to Hong Kong. The airlines were fine. It was recomended to me to get two receipts for tax reasons. At Hong Kong Airport I got sent to an inspection office where they coded it as a war game item. I put it in my case and had no probs. A friend also recommends splitting it in 2 and putting it in 2 suitcases. He brought me back an A&K M60 for just under £200. Good luck.

I imagine that the airport staff here in the UK won't be able to check the UKARA database. Maybe it's a good idea to speak to your local site, ask them to send an email to your email address stating you're a player at their airsoft site. Or a phone call to the registered number on their webpage who can then verify you (hoping someone picks up).

  39. A Boeing 777 was on its way across the Atlantic when all of a sudden a USAF F35 pulled up along side. "Boring flight huh?" the fighter pilot said over the radio. "Watch this". The fighter then accelerated away, breaking the sound barrier before performing loops and rolls, then returning alongside the passenger jet. "What do you think of that?" the fighter pilot called over the radio. "Not bad, watch this" comes the reply from the 777 A few minutes go by and the big jet continues to fly dead straight and level. Finally the radio crackles to life "Well, what do you think?" "About what? You didn't do anything" asks the confused fighter pilot. "Yes I did" comes the reply "I got up, went for a piss, made a coffee and arranged a date with a stewardess in a 5* hotel, that's paid for by the airline"
