DJsnipe reacted to a post in a topic: Question about Silverback DesertTech SRS A2's build material

It says on the website that its made of aluminum 6000 series but not specifically which one. Viper techs are made of 6061 T6 aluminum just like the real thing. Does anyone know which aluminum is used in building Silverback DesertTech SRS A2 sniper guns. Is it some pot metal stuff or is it similar to the aluminum used in viper techs? Thanks

Whats the quality of the polymer used in these kits? They says they use nylon fiber. Is it the same as the real glocks? Or is it some abs/pvc stuff. https://www.rainbow8.com/collections/marui-g19-custom-parts/products/guarder-new-generation-frame-complete-set-for-marui-g19-euro-ver-fde It says they have stainless steel parts as well. How about the guarder stainless steel glock slides? Are they really stainless steel or actually just some pot metal stuff? Any body have any experience with guarder? How does it compare to viper tech as far as quality of the build material is concerned?

Is there a gbb handgun manufacturer, especially for glocks, which is upto the same high standards of the materials (6061 aluminium etc) used in viper tech rifles? I dont think viper tech makes glocks, as I dont see it in their website or in uncompany.com. Somebody previously suggested getting deactivated guns, but unfortunately here in the US its going to be a real hassle, itll be easier to own a real one here. But I dont want to hang a real gun on my wall as a display so. Btw I see there are some really cool deactivated guns on those websites. Lugers, walthers and everything, I bet you guys have it all huh?

This is in regards to the latest versions of TM MK18 GBB GHK MK18 GBB Eumarex Glock 19 GBB Deserttech Silverback SRS A2 I believe the Full Metal exteriors part is actually pot metal/zamak instead of pure aluminium or stamped steel. Personally, I am interested in those guns as a collector, to use these for display purposes only. Now I think pot metal/zamak doesnt age too well regardless of how much you use it. They're prone to cracking, bending, being brittle etc over time. I also read a post about a guy pulling out his Full Metal bodied airsoft guns after around 10 years, only to find them bent, cracked or crumbled. For you guys who have owned Full Metal airsoft guns for a couple of years, how does the pot metal/zamak stand up to the test of time? Do they surprise you with cracks and other damages out of the blue? If pot metal/zamak wont outlast me, even though I keep it hung on the wall to just look at, I think it would be better for me to spend a few more dollars and just get the real steel guns. What do you think?
