  2. UCAP have been against 2 tones since they were an idea, the reasoning is that the defence against the VCRA was that airsoft needed RIFs to aid in the suspension of disbelief when re-enacting military/LE scenarios and IFs undermine that concept. I say vote with your wallet and go wherever works for you, it's not like there's no alternative nowadays.

  6. Bespoke scope protector from Red Dot. Really tight fit and light spiralling from the lathe means loads of contact/friction. Fast delivery and less than a tenner, so well worth having on decent glass.

  8. Looks like this EBB variant, which is, surprise surprise, out of stock. I've come round to accepting that the prices of things that aren't in stock just aren't that meaningful, because it's not like we're just waiting a few days or weeks for a restock. To be clear, I think he's a dreamer, especially for not listing any details. But there's no right or wrong price for it, just optimistic ones.

  9. Way back when the VCR kicked in the very same small group of retailers who really pushed for the UKARA scheme to be the only way to be able to buy RIF’s , which would basically allow them to control the market(allegedly of course) once it was in place THEN turned around and created Two-tones to circumvent the UKARA scheme so they could still sell cheap ass CAR’s (Chav Assault Rifles) to the unwashed masses ! UCAP took a stance over it and have stood by that stance and I’ve always supported them for that .

  10. binary triggers i can sort of get behind as they effectively remove semi. sure you could fire one round then release the trigger pointing at the dirt, but lets face it nobody is gonna do that making 2 rounds the de-facto minimum you're gonna be sending at a target. sure you can get a reasonably high round count with regular spamming, but however fast you can spam on a regular trigger is doubled on a binary trigger. box mags on pistols i'm not so sure on, certainly for certain themed events i get it but for regular skirmishing? can't say i agree. sure i hate em, but you just gotta accept some folks don't think that way, and i can't really see them as being particularly enabling of dickish behavior in the same way binary triggers are (as in, what can you do with an m4 mag hpa'd hicapa that you couldn't do with an hpa'd arp9?) the 2-tone thing i don't get at all, so some people are impatient and don't want to wait to get registered? what's wrong with that? again for themed events maybe, but not regular skirmishing.

  14. that was my initial feeling, but the issue is that whereas in a normal gun the COL gets lifted free when used in auto that's not happening. although i've had plenty of v3 boxes firing a lot of rounds in semi auto to suggest they shouldn't wear out that quickly. the thing i'm thinking is it's essentially half-pulling the trigger in normal use, compared to how it'd be in its normal ak role which is what the trigger/trolley/col was originally designed around. i must admit, i'm getting a lot of deja vu here. col's wearing out quicker than you'd expect (granted on the g&g it's as much due to the weird leverage it's being put through) and being just a bit finnicky on semi. fingers crossed, if not there are still some cards left to play. is an interesting solution, but it's for the g&g non mosfet version, although granted i wish it had been a thing when i was going through this

We don't know what was in the mind of the person that wrote '"modern firearm” means any firearm other than one the appearance of which would tend to identify it as having a design and mechanism of a sort first dating from before the year 1870.' They doubtless had some distinctive feature in mind that they think only appeared in 1870 and not before then. It might very well be metal cartridges, or some other thing that they're wrong about. You can. Nothing is stopping you buying. This is an issue for sellers - they're the one committing an offence. I emphasise this because you'll have to ask them. I'd expect that it's nothing beyond erring on the side of caution, given the vagueness of the offence and interpretation. Decent rant though, 8/10, big bonus for the lack of paragraphs or periods. 👍

  16. This is one of my biggest peeves with the hobby, gender inequality.... I mean when a man runs out of BB's or has an issue with their equipment, they have to go back to the safe zone. A 4/10 woman with pink hair, will have a queue of simps longer than the chrono queue at 9am.

  19. M4 mags (or similar) on pistols, yeah I get it, binary triggers are a bit "grey" as there's nothing to stop players spamming any aeg trigger, but the one I don't get is banning two-tones or clear gats, EVEN IF THEY'RE PAINTED ? I get no one likes ugly b#stard two-tones but if they're painted or cammed up then they look like everyone else's.

  20. That's a very generous offer Iceni, but hopefully I'll be able to jam all the parts in and make it work. I've got three different hammers, how could it possibly fail? I rather wish it was the MOSFET, that'd just be a warranty replacement, or swapping for a Perun, or even just reverting to the old wiring, rather than this mystery box stuff! Oh, I've got a replacement COL on order too.

  22. Sorry been at work Yeah definitely the COL/Dolly interaction that's failing. Glad it's not the Mosfet. I'd replace the unit for standard V3 parts. The SHS/RA parts should be fine. But to be sure I'd do the COL and front contacts. That way you rule out wear, and warping on the COL as well. If I had the time I'd say pop over at the weekend and I'd fit it all for you, but we are in the final week before the British retail consortium audit at work, and panic mode in the engineering management is kicking in.

  23. don't blame ye, 90% of the firing i did with mine was in bursts outdoors, admittedly i lean towards semi in other guns, where the trigger isn't made by black and decker..... it's one of the issues with the more obscure platforms is getting weird niggles like this, if it's any consolation the original g&g was every bit as bad but throw in lack of available spares for the trigger/col and lacking the end-game option. unlikely, out of the 2 the col is the thing that'll wear. don't think i've ever seen a sector cam actually wear out (as opposed to the default shape not matching a given col for a given box)

  29. hmm, that's very definitely the col failing to lift the trolley. wonder is the col worn? i know i said i didn't think it had earlier but i'm starting to doubt myself on that front. looks like it's in constant engagement, usually when you fire in auto it's lifted out of engagement to stop it wearing out as quickly. other thing might be worth trying, but if you remove the auto contacts (as in physically remove them, not just isolate the wiring) and see if the extra clearance to pull the trigger back lets it trip properly?

  30. You can cutoff the vent hole by replacing the cylinder for one without the matching hole, the hole in the gearbox shell would then be redundant. Iirc you have to remove the rubber gasket as well but the rest of the blowback components you fit normally. It'd still be a weak point for a future crack though

    What have you made?

417 drum adapter v3b is good enough to show pics of. v2 and v3 were based off the Angel Customs drum, instead of the A&K SR-25 drum that v1 used, as that drum apparently sucks, and neither lasted through a single game day. v3c will likely be the final version, I just gotta make a little more room for the rear of the adapter to drop down. Not gonna be a big enough change for a v4. Three part, requires a donor AC M4 adapter, two M3x25mm bolts, one M3x14mm bolt, and three M3 square nuts. Complete reversible back to M4 adapter, so no wasted parts. You’re just using the sliding door, BB retention wedge, and spring. Since then I printed a low infill v3c and it fit, so now I have the final prototype of the two inner parts printing, and if those are all good then we will have a finished version.

  32. A man sees a sign outside a farmhouse: 'Talking Dog For Sale'....He rings the bell, the owner appears and tells him the dog can be viewed in the back garden. The man sees a very nice looking Black Labrador Retriever sitting there. "Do you really talk?" He asks the dog. "Yes!" The Labrador replies. After recovering from the shock of hearing the dog talk, the man asks, "So, tell me your story!" The Labrador looks up and says, "Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was pretty young. I wanted to help the government, so I joined the Garda. "In no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world drug lords, because no one imagined that a dog would be eavesdropping. I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years, But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for a job at Dublin airport to do some undercover security work, wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded several medals. I got married, had a few puppies, and now I've just retired!" The man is amazed. He goes back into the house and asks the owner how much he wants for the dog. "Ten quid!" The owner says. “A tenner??But this dog is absolutely amazing! Why on earth are you selling him so cheaply?" "Because he's a lying cunt. He's never been out of the garden!"

  35. It shouldn't just push up. It should push up and snap back to the starting position without needing to reset the trigger. On semi auto. So with the tape over the auto contacts - A single full trigger pull - Moves the dolly forwards - It touches the contacts. COL hit's the dolly lifting it over the trigger - dolly snaps back - And it falls back into the reset position with no contacts been touched on some trigger designs it might stay at an angle but it should always snap back. Trigger is released and lifts the dolly and picks up the step that will allow the trigger to be pulled again. If the Mosfet is working on the program trigger, and is working in AUTO then the only fault that can be left is the Semi auto contacts and Dolly. That whole assembly is the same as the AK. So getting a replacement is easy enough if need be. But I don't think this issue is the MOSFET if the program trigger is working as intended, as all that trigger is, is a push switch.

  36. Dude it's the same as the AUG. The single wire system only works when you have a single set of contacts, like a regular V2, V3 (AK). As soon as you have a secondary set of contacts the method I put above is the easiest way. 2 cut's and just run 2 separate loops. It's actually on the same page as the V2 diagram, Under it... Figure 3 page 11 of the manual. You don't need the motor spade connectors. Your putting a deans in and the motor is separate from the loom because of that. So provided you make sure you can get the motor out of the cage with the wires on (you can on an AUG, not sure about the F2000) then you can just solder the wires directly to the motor. Those are pictures I did for another fet but it's the same diagram for the merf. In addition to this you also have to put one of those single shot trigger back to normal. Looking at how you've wired it I don't think you have put any power down the signal wire. But it would only work in single shot, and full auto would cause the Mosfet to power down thinking it had a short circuit. So exactly what you saw. As the single shot trigger would initiate the motor, the full auto contact would be open, but there would be no signal wire signal as the COL would have broken the semi contacts. So it would kind of fall over itself and go safe. A single wire setup would look like this. Had to have a good think as to how it would work.

  37. the light wire is fine for the majority of the wiring going from the mosfet and across the 2 sets of contacts. you'd only need enough heavy gauge wire to go from the motor to wherever the mosfet is going to be, for example the one terminal already going to the deans connector from the motor won't need touched, just trim the other wire coming from that deans and plug it straight into the motor. something like this: remove the green-traced wire entirely, cut the black striped wire where the green X is and solder it (black line) to the motor spade (or the the motor, if you feel so inclined) your other 2 red wires you could leave as-is, personally i'd swap them for the light-gauge wire for the sake of neatness but that's up to you. edit: some top tier mspaint skills later: so wiring wise: 1 has light wire going to the smaller mosfet connector, and to point 5 (which one doesn't matter) 2 has light wire going to the smaller mosfet connector and to point 6 (which one doesn't matter, as long as it's not connected to 1 or 5) points 3&4 are wired with heavy wire to the mosfet deans connector (with polarity matched for the right motor direction), like the above pic.

  40. To give myself a few more options on game day, and not wanting to go all out on Crye gear (yet!) I ordered a couple of sets of Emerson G3 copies from good old Ali Express. Along with bog standard multicam, I've gone for multicam tropic and honest to goodness woodland. Added a new woodland boonie as well. Also added a C2R IFAK to my shooters belt, and, to show the MWS a little love, some Gun Sav. It is almost Valentine's Day so some lube seemed appropriate.

  43. As above- cyma are pretty much the baseline of solid all-rounder, e&l are more expensive but have prettier externals which will rust. Either are good choices, depending on your budget and wether you like a heavy gun or a light gun. The jg's arent bad shooters with a bit of tinkering, although the term "blowback" is a bit of a stretch, whilst the system is somewhat fragile it's also relatively easily deactivated and it'll run as a regular aeg. Ran one for years as my backup/loaner gun and it was genuinely a fun little shooter that i'd often run just for the hell of it.
