  1. Hello all you fine lads and ladies. (If I may be so self indulgent to put this message here and call my humble site reviews "News".) Last week was my 4th anniversary starting Airsoft. 6 months after that I started doing the site reviews. It's been a wild ride as much as one can be just writing walls of indecipherable text with questionable grammar. I have had some good times visiting so many different sites. I believe I have now visited 42 sites in the South East (Only one of which I haven't yet posted a review on as I would like to revisit). I have received many thanks for the reviews and plaudits on the forum as well as direct criticisms in the form of PM's and Emails from site regulars and owners. I have been told on multiple occasions how aware sites are about the reviews and are all quaking in their boots for when I make my visit ;). I have been invited to new sites multiple times for my feedback on how to improve the gaming experience. I was also approached by a large online Airsoft news site to write reviews for them on the regular (Sadly they never got back to me after I said I would love to write for them, but only on the proviso that I could still post them on AFUK and that I wouldn't let anyone edit or tone down my honest opinions). So you are probably wondering why I am making this post! It's time to bring the reviews to a close... Sort of. As fun as it is visiting lots of different sites, @Albiscuit and myself will start prioritising revisiting sites that we have loved to have some good game days under our belt. Whilst I am not in it for the fame, women or backhanders, I have seen the readership, views and feedback getting less and less prevalent over time. Due to that I am finding it harder to start typing out walls of texts until I get so bored I have to force myself to do it! There are also frankly very few sites left to visit that you can say are actually in the South East. Compound that with the fact I don't drive, many of the ones left are relatively inaccessible to me without a lift. Basically, I am a scrub and I want to start going to a small number of sites more regularly, get good at layouts and get to know some regulars and maybe join a loose set of players in a "Team" or something equally cringe. I will also be taking some time out down in Devon and Cornwall for personal reasons starting from August ending in October. I may play a couple of times down there as well. But it's not set in stone... This doesn't mean there wont be anymore new reviews (Watch out for ZMart, Incursion tunnels and Tower Airsoft coming up) but I will be writing them sporadically, to the point I may just stop. I really appreciate all of the support you guys have given me, even though many of you don't live in the SE! Special thanks goes to my initial Battlebuddy who helped me get to places and @Albiscuitpicking up where he left off. Without you I would never of got to see so many of these places! If there are any sites you haven't seen a review of and would like me or someone else to review at some point please comment. Below are a list of sites that are still yet to be visited. 2. I have lots of experience making bespoke one off airsoft pieces and if you wanted something doing I can do or arrange it all for you. Rates for design and machining are between £75 and £150 per hour plus costs. Also there is always a ghost rate I call twat tax and in your case even if you are a multimillionaire you can't afford it as you are such a humongous cockwomble of a twatwaffle the tax would be like the covid debt.

  3. Site Name: Absolute Airsoft Contact details: 01628 474 756 Website Address: https://www.absolute-airsoft.co.uk/ Facebook Page: Absolute Airsoft | Facebook Site Address: Jacksons Lane, RG4 7EE Hello all! @Albiscuit and I trundled to Absolute Airsoft near Reading. One that has been put off for a while due to the long distance from our respective hovels. It's barely in the South East. I had heard mixed to negative things about the site ahead of time. Allegedly run by/affiliated with Special Airsoft Supplies who have been accused of as scammers and even have a Facebook group dedicated to warning people against buying from them. Someone also got shot and lost his eye in the safe zone back in 2016. We popped along on 16/06/2021. It was destined to be a very hot day at 27 degrees which turned out to be an overstatement. Luckily it was a little cooler at 21 degrees. Absolute Airsoft is a Medium sized Woodland site. (Claims to be 150 Acres, but Apoc in Kent is 200 acres and is by far much larger). For the most part it is flat but with a significant hill used in the first couple of games. There are 5 distinct areas that were used on the day, the aforementioned hill, a typical medium height foliage area with an under-construction oversized shed, an open clearing with battlements, a low grassland/fern area with a Kill-house plonked in the middle of it and lastly a small village area near some classic woodland. There was a mix of short/medium/long distance engagements. Good: Value: Good value at £25 for the day including a free hot dog or pizza for lunch. Turn around time: Very good. To the point that I was struggling to get loaded up after taking a breather to get back out for the next game. They do push you to play. Safety Brief: Covered everything. Took it seriously. Told people to shut it if they talked over it. Little in the way of gallows humour. Marshalling: There were enough marshals to cover for the day. I found they were hands off (In a good way). Encouraging, but didn't have to intervene that much. There were two incidences of injuries due to trips and falls and the marshals were right on it. Calling ceasefires and getting the injured out of the way. Shop: Quite a bit on offer, Lots of Rifles in Cabin. Didn't take a close look myself. Al picked up some BBs of somewhat questionable looking quality, they seemed to work ok though. Safe Zone Safety: Very on point and laudable. I imagine due to the incident in the safe zone in times past, they have to stick with what they do. They insist on Barrel socks on everything whilst in the safe zone (Which they sell in the shop for £3 a time, sadly they don't advertise the need for a barrel sock on the website so we were a bit out of pocket on the day) If you have no barrel sock or cant use one (Wont fit on one of my rifles) then they have to be left in the game zone. There are rigorous checks of mags out whilst coming back into safe zone. Pistols have to be either holstered or racked back and on safety on whilst out of holster. Very good to see. Average: Playing Area: It was "Good", there were five distinct zones as already described. The Kill-house and village area were quite fun, if somewhat unremarkable. It is refreshing to see a massive open area... However I felt that the areas used were just a little too open, very little medium/tall cover to hide behind. Little opportunity to flank as the marshals insisted on narrow game areas or when it was more wide open they used areas where you would be seen sneaking up fairly easily. Considering there was a high turnout of over 100 players, I would have preferred a larger game zone in play. Safe Zone: Safe zone was perfectly fine. Lots of the seating under cover, it was quite cramped for the over 100 in attendance and it was incredibly difficult to socially distance. Picnic tables were quite small and suited two to a table with any comfort. Car park was right next to Safe zone. Hit taking: I didn't experience any massively bad hit taking bar the usual one or two questionable individuals. I did hear a lot of grumbling from people on my team though. Car Park/Entrance: Dirt/Gravel Car Park right off a long mostly unmarked road. The only sign leading to Absolute is the one at the entrance of the Car Park. Follow your Sat-Nav and you'll find it. Its a big enough car park for even the 100 or so players. Toilets: Two/Three Porta-loos. I went to the loo at the end of the day, didn't smell that bad considering. Clientele: Very young clientele, lots of casual players and rentals. Interspersed with grizzled veterans. Did the usual chat with some new players. I was a bit disappointed in some of the players smoking under the shelters in the safe zone despite being told more then once not to. The smell was quite overbearing at times. Food: Al and I asked for Cheese and Tomato Pizza rather then Hot Dog on the ticket purchase, Al being Veggie and I don't eat pork. However the receipt stated that we had chosen Hot Dog. We explained to the marshal when we got there, yet there were no spare pizzas. Though it turned out the Hot Dogs were Chicken so I had Al's as well. The hot dog was perfectly OK. I felt sorry for Al though. Bad: Chrono: Despite all of the attention devoted to safety, checking for mags out, barrels socks on everything etc. There was no Chrono testing AT ALL. No testing at the beginning of the day, no Chrono setup so we could self test during the day and I didn't see anyone get tested on the field. Pretty sure there were a few people running hot on the day too. Why go to all the effort of putting in all these safety measures, but at least not make a token effort of testing for joules? Disappointing. Conclusion: So this was an odd one in some ways. The Playing area is... Fine, I believe it could be used better and it didn't feel like 150 acres. Despite the many positives and almost no Negatives, we didn't get much of a good feeling from the site. We found the day either somewhat boring or frustrating to play. "Meh" being the operative word for it. A Local site for local people. Does nothing different to many other woodland sites that we play with no unique feature. I laud the place for it's Safety inside the safe zone. But the Chrono situation is unforgivable, you can argue all you want that people can change springs and bb weights after chrono. But you have to at least be seen to make an effort that you take overpowered guns seriously. Bullpup Watch: L85, SRS HTTI, SRS Silverback, PDRC Best Guess Map:

  4. Just don't get sucked into picking up your first RIF based on what they stock/is convenient/you can get the quickest. Since UKARA became a thing I've seen many get sucked down that hole, if the on site retailer happens to carry the thing you land on wanting then that's great... but don't let what ultimately boils down to impatience be a deciding factor.

  5. Great day at green ops today.hotter than the devils flip flops but good fun. I must be getting better cause I had eight good kills! One of them was on my side and one was a marshal for which I got well and truly chewed out! 🤭 Regards

  9. Staying true to this forum's "Tell us about your experiences buying from different shops" purpose, just a general PSA about Wolf Armouries' bad customer service. I bought a TM FiveseveN pistol from them under the Hire Purchase scheme, and they held onto it for a few months due to the pandemic. When I retrieved it this week, they had lost the GBB magazine that came with the pistol in the original box and refused to do anything about it. They gave some asinine excuse that there was no magazine in the box while it was stored, but since virtually every TM pistol comes with a magazine and I would have no earthly reason to bring home an empty magazine without the gun, I'm pretty sure they either lost it while in storage or took it from my box and gave it to another customer. Worse still is their complete refusal to even consider the fact they lost or make up for it on any way -- a huge "screw you" to the customer. Not gonna be spending a penny on them again, especially when people like Firesupport and Patrolbase actually give you good customer support and don't inflate their prices. Think twice if you're going to use Wolf's Hire Purchase scheme. Shame on you, Wolf Armouries.

  10. Cyma M052 40mm Pistol launcher (purchased from Patrol base for £39.99) Use: Designed to be used with MOSCART shells and TaggInn launchable Pyro Key features: Upper and lower Picatinny rail and safety catch. Simple design with very little to go wrong. Build Quality: Mix of Polymer and metal construction but as this has very few moving parts there is not much that can go wrong with this device. My opinion and overall comments: This small pistol launcher will scratch an itch that other pistols just cant. Using MOSCART shower shells make for quick work when clearing rooms or hall ways without the need to take aim. Paired with the ability to reach out and touch people with Tag pyros make for a fun addition for any day, made even better by the fact this will fit in most universal fabric holsters/water bottle pouch/kangaroo pouch Overall rating: 8/10 Side arms in airsoft dont have much use other than for those who need to adhere to MED rules. This compact launcher changes things and gives you more versatility in games depending on what ammo you decide to use. This is a simple design executed well at a price point that makes it hard to say no too. Overall a solid 8/10. only reason I am not scoring it higher is that I feel it would be nice if some form of grenade iron sites were supplied which does make shooting this with tag rounds difficult to be accurate with.

  11. Now I don't know much about the ngrs, their upgrades or how much they go for. However £900 seems pretty steep and putting is as collection only seems incredibly optimistic. The real crime here though is that he reposted it FOUR FUCKING TIMES!

  12. No worries, the site I go to has an on site retailer and the site can hold a rif for me until my ukara got processed, I'm just getting the games in first so I can learn the field as a rental lol 😀
    1 point
  13. Right you are, apologies, the note on the processing time is still worth bearing in mind fwiw. Question for the other old hands/those better at keeping an eye on changes... has that been reduced? I swear it was 3 months but I'm open to being entirely wrong.

  14. I have read into the requirements for ukara before I played my first game and confirmed with a retailer and also from ukaras own site, it states 3 games in no less than 2 months, my 2nd game will be 20th June and my third will be just over a month after that one, I'll more than likely get a 4th game in anyway as I really enjoy playing airsoft

  16. If you buy second-hand you don't really NEED UKARA - needless to say over the last 30 purchases via airsoft forums and prefired I've been asked for UKARA only twice... people generally don't care from what I've noticed. L85 kinda stinks (at least AEGs, gas one is pretty nice)... for some reason most AEG bullpups do. I only pulled the trigger on battered down ARES SOC-AR and it's a weighty chonker with some questionable ergonomics unless you're a leftie but it shoots like a dream and has crisp electronic trigger - I've heard good reviews of KelTec RDB too and intend of eventually getting one myself after I knock few more things out of my wishlist. Don't get too caught up with the platform - for all intents and purposes this is just cosplay, except for big tiddy anime girls there are big children with toy guns - in vast majority of circumstances your pistol will perform just as good as your sniper I would say get something that works out of the box with minimal to zero input required, maybe with some bells and whistles. There will be time and place to get into teching but if it's going to be your first and only gun for a while you need a workhorse Volkswagen not Alfa Romeo that will spend most of the time at mechanics. I couldn't talk my friend I've introduced to airsoft out of FAMAS F1 and it spends more time at tech than in the actual game. If you're after M4 platform ICS MARS series with SSS (or S3) mosfet is an absolute dream.

  21. Hot..i'd say, but managed to get to around 15:30 before started to suffer real bad effects...and this is with having 3ltrs of water & sportsdrnks to get electrolites into me. Sat in the car at the end with air-con on..got out to talk to someone, and immediately got real bad cramping in the thighs. (To much salt loss today) Considering i'm 47 and younguns quit hours earlier due to the heat..I thought I did rather well. Good day and had fun being a sneaky bastard with my Wolverine MTW...getting to places the enemy team didn't expect an attack from...and the new Daniel Defence "Repo" stock is good. (To a risk getting it from China)

  22. 1, British patriotism. 2, I like bullpups. I would also disable any blowback as what I have learned is I tend to transition from right, to left handed, just something I did without thinking about on my first game. Budget would be around £400 for just a gun alone. Another reason for leaning towards a cyma platinum cm0.97 is upgrades down the road and have it as a dmr once I get a pistol then a 2nd aeg. Cyma seems to open up these possibilities down the road for me, more so than an l85 does, but I still really want an l85 lol. Still I have 2 more games in just over a month to get my ukara so plenty of time to look and review everything.

  24. Had a blast today but we all left earlier (around 11 AM) because the heat is unsustainable now. I parked my car in the shadow and the when we got back it said 35°! Way too fucking much for me. Nonetheless we managed to play a fair bit of games, we got a couple of new members and overall the day went smoothly. On the technical side, I took the 933 which performed flawlessly and the aap, unfortunately this one decided to die on its first 3 shots, the hop wasn't doing anything other than pissing bbs at 5 metres (turns out it still doesn't like MR-Hops even with a TDC installed) so I threw it in my backpack and kept playing. Shame as I would have liked to test the TDC potential. I am forcing myself to drink regularly, it's something I don't usually do but staying hydrated is key on my field, I ended up drinking 4 litres of water without even realising it until I got back to the car, luckily there's a bar/restaurant thingy on the way back. While we were at said bar we started talking about random stuff, at some point one guy approaches us asking what club we were part of, when we told him he started spouting insults for no reason (he's a member of the cheater club we used to play with a couple of years ago). Okay, I guess

  25. I certainly do, I already have a viper elite gen 2 trousers in dpm, invader gear style top in dpm (only cost £20 on amazon). I did however splash nearly £90 on a warrior pathfinder chest rig from uk tactical as I found the rented plate carrier quite cumbersome. One thing I am struggling with however is which brand of rif to go for once I get my ukara number. My heart is set on a g&g l85a2 but get the feeling it will need work on it to get it running reliably, not too sure about the ics version of the l85 as I've heard it overhops when hopup is at its lowest setting. Because of all this I am now leaning towards a cyma platinum 0.97 14.5" aeg but have heard the mosfet burns out if you continually fire 45 sec to 1 min on semi auto, I feel this review I read was someone deliberately trying to brake the thing, in a skirmish that just don't happen really. Any advice would be a great help

  34. First of, thank you for your dedication to the chaos of 'am i going to enjoy this'. There were fits and spurts where i would read everything looking for a 'public transport' site find one, only to have the game date be unfeasible. Part of the reason i stopped checking out the reviews is the frustration of not being able to play as often as i would like to, or even having to cancel plans for various reasons. You should absolutely be taking backhander/free game days if they are on offer. I will have another look and see what has been added resently.

  35. I don't think there is much left to the imagination with the phrasing, seems entirely honest. The grip is genuine ergo grip (as the photo suggests), the stock is the PTS licenced Magpul MOE and the rest of the external bits are repro parts. I'm usually all for going through a build with a heap of crap on/in it to figure out where the value is... but on this occasion I'm inclined to agree that it's just an MWS with all the good bits replaced. If I want a RIF that takes Glock mags I'll get a... checks notes... Glock. Not to say it's over priced, though I suspect it is in terms of a price it'll actually sell at, but that is one hell of a niche thing to try and sell for such a steep price.

  36. Should work yes. The elite force 1911 is made by kwc. Elite force, cybergun, umarex co2 1911s are made by kwc. I do think heroshark makes a good point here though. The gas is indeed coming out the top not around the sides, which makes me think I've told you the wrong seal is at fault. Might be worth removing the exhaust valve and giving the valve itself a dose of silicone oil and there's a o ring is inside the mag itself which will need silicone oil too. If you look at this diagram you'll see the 2 o rings: https://www.airsoftstation.com/elite-force-kwc-1911-co2-blowback-airsoft-pistol-magazine-release-valve/ If the o ring inside the mag has gone you can likely just replace it so long as you can find out the correct size. If the o ring onside the valve has gone I think you'll need an new valve. I've had a quick look on one of mine and I can't see how you get inside it to replace it.

  40. About the issue of projectile weight, erm lets call them "jewellers scales" have come down in price dramatically as checking the weight of "gold" has become more common. They are tiny and very accurate and even the cheap ones go down to .1 of a gram. Could be easy to carry with a chrono, pop bb out the mag, weight it, stick the mag back in and then run it through the chrono.

  43. Looks to me like it's coming out the top. So you need replacement seals for the exhaust valve or just the whole valve. Possible a clean and grease may work but in my experience co2 seal's don't last long.

  46. Yeh thats my shooting buddy Lee. It took a little fettling to get it working right but we get about 70m out of it now, it fires TAG rounds. Put together a purchase list and then send it to me - I am very good at hunting down kit by now. Include your height/waist size

  47. No problem, always welcome to pick brains. The last game was only a couple of weeks ago and was pretty much a 50/50 split with around 40 players per side, so decent turnout for such a niche market. NATO usually have a very slight edge in numbers sometimes but not always. If you are interested in kit standards etc this link is the newly released photos from the weekend. I am the chap in the Blumentarn and was Squad Leader for a DDR squad all weekend. https://gallery.oliverfacey.co.uk/redmist32 Good mix of excellent impressions to not so good (the guy in the choc chip boonie who was a pain in the arse to be honest). If I am honest its more about attitude than kit, you would get more time to put kit together if you make the attitude grade of not playing it like a skirmish and playing within the spirit of the ruleset which is what keeps people coming back time and again. Soviet kit is dead easy - KLMK oversuit, helmet, webbing and done. Its what you see most of the lads in the pics wearing. We used to have more proper Motor Rifles guys but they seem to have departed the scene. Loan kit is also a serious option for you, I regularly loan out kit and guns on a break it you buy it basis, espcially to newer members of the community. You will find most of us have 2 or 3 of any given loadout, we tend to horde stuff......For crying out loud look at my profile pic I have an NBC suit and mask I have only used once as well as other random DDR bits I have never used.........it gets to the point you plan your gun purchases around you kit LOL

  48. those double o-ring piston heads are just another thing to go wrong and don't give any real performance issue. Same with having a thrust bearing on the piston head and on the spring guide. My guess SA are trying to improve reliability and that's what you want on a £140 gun, returns eat into profit so badly with AEG's
    1 point
  49. That is a really interesting point that I had never thought of before. With most retailers offering credit options, it makes you wonder how big-ticket items will sell second hand (at a reasonable value for the seller) unless they are discontinued and/or collectable products. Say, if you are in the market for a high-end pre-upgraded TM NGRS package, you might think to yourself that it's worth paying the extra 30% to be A) able to buy it new and setup exactly how you want it straight away, B) comes with a retailers warranty and finally C) Pay it off in monthly installments. Tangent: Having experienced my own credit nightmares in the past (and all totally my fault)- I've had to work my butt off to be totally debt and finance free. Something I only achieved early this year after a decade or so of worry, sleepless nights and very nearly a divorce. The way credit is being thrown around on nearly every major retailer's website is scary, and it's so easy to be sucked in. But make one mistake (i.e. a late or missed payment) then your lovely interest-free purchase becomes a very nasty interest-attracting debt with sky-high rates. Make a few of those mistakes (and it can happen easier than you think) then you are completely fucked.
