    I've been meaning to put together a build / life with an MTW thread for a while now but have never gotten round to it. So let this be the first step of many. I'll try to detail as best I can the general faffing and me being a bit of a pain in the arse (more on this later). Why I chose to spunk a wedge on HPA stuff and just general thread that might perhaps help others decide if this is the path for them! More at some point soon (probably when the kids have gone to bed), I'm typing this now while I'm supposed to be tidying up play-doh!

    Ahh yes, the good ol' airsoft review: 1. Open up the box, take a minute to talk about what its made from while showing some sweeping close-ups. 2. Spend 15 minutes talking about the controls, how ambi freindly they are, and listing every rail mounting point on the gun. 3. Show 3 bb's being fired through a chrono 4. 30 seconds of accuracy "testing" on an indoor range no more than 10m long, remember to shoot off-hand at a cardboard box and not say what ammo your using. 5. Declare it the best thing ever and remember not to say anything bad in case the manufacturer stops sending you stuff to test. Meanwhile i'm left asking "yes but whats the box like? Has it a qd spring? Are there any proprietary parts and if there are are they at least decent? Are there any quirks to dissassembly? Etc etc" Or the other "i 'review' my big youtube buddy's latest product (honest review guvnor)" types. Meanwhile i've had a gun i want to review for some time but i'm refusing to do so until i see if rs furniture fits.

    this is true it is a very individualised thing. i agree with you on the instinct shooting for pistols, generally short range it's hip-fire and hope or long range it's careful time on the sights, but in-between i'm pretty much guaranteed to miss unless the other guy isn't looking.

    That boy is a fool. If your aim in attending any sort of game is 'upsetting people' by acting like a dick you need to either 1) grow up 2) hope someone changes your nappy and puts you in a better mood. That man is about as welcome at an airsoft site as a leaky bucket of AIDS.

    Me personally I think it comes down to you’ve got a lot of well established players on here and a good few are of an older age group than you’ll normally find on Facebook groups/forums/etc so a phrase I definitely don’t hear being used that much any more applies to an awful lot of us on here , ‘piss taker’ there is a LOT of piss taking on here (why I like this one)but I’m sorry to say these days there’s also a lot of people who just can’t handle it . Time and time again I see or hear someone moaning and complaining about being offended/bullied/victimised/picked on etc the list goes on and on , I look to see the cause and all I can see is what to me is just banter , piss taking or man talk . I know I’m a dinosaur (safe to say there’s more here than Jurassic park !) but it’s not personal it’s just piss taking , simple as that and some people REALLY do need to lighten up . so endeth the sermon .😇

    VFC AKS74N I've had this probably over 10 years now and it shows signs of use, it's got rust and several knocks and combined with the real plum AK74 handguards, real converted mags and sling it really looks the part. Was going to keep as a wallhanger if nothing else but have decided to sell it. I was in the process of rebuilding it to start airsofting again however never completed. I fitted a new metal hop + rubber and rewired it with a MOSFET and deans however I recall the wiring being too large which interfered with the selector enabling full auto only. Unfortunately I've not had any batteries in over a year to double check. I will include a new SP100 spring I've found which I presumably bought for this. The original box and 5 magazines are also included (3 are converted real steel mags, 2 plum and 1 bakelite) Haven't airsofted in a while and unlikely to pick it up again hence sale. Have other bits going up for sale so happy to combine postage, make an offer etc. If you need any other information etc please feel free to contact me. Many thanks

    I imagine many of you have already seen this, popped up on my 'recommended' front page and it piqued my interest. My overall take away is that if the attitude of real steel companies can shift from 'looking down its nose at' to 'we can see the benefit' it'd be great for the hobby as a whole. I don't personally take a lot from some of the benefits Lucas puts forward (though I do share the sentiment that I'm more into the gear side than the RIF side), it's very much a pastime for me... and I imagine many here given the practical application of 'training' outside of airsoft in this country is somewhat limited to my knowledge). Nevertheless it's pleasant to have someone involved with the real steel world not just mocking the hobby/sport/whatever we do is.

    Yeah a real SMG with low power rounds in a situation where you really need to kill the guy fast because he's bloody close. 1 bb = dead at any range from any type of RIF.

    I had a similar problem with my G3 trying to get a mount to fit properly i had to try a few from different retailers to get one that would fit properly. as has been said, they list them as suitable for Mp5/G3 but they do have some slight dimension differences Eotech looks good on your pew 👍

    Just give it a few more weeks, Ali are pretty great at refund imo, I even received a free mk18 rail when I tried to return it for being the wrong length. best thing to do is wait it out.

    I have decided I do want another black pistol. My bling arrived yesterday so test fitted it all and have decided to keep this one as is except take off the magwell and add the drum mag when it arrives, a sight, a sling mount onto the stock, I will also get the printed fire selector adaptor too and run the second with the red charging handle, magwell, and tracer for CQB Excuse the crap pic

    Definite cnut, & he knows it, as he mentions "upsetting a few people" at the start of the vid. On the plus side, he's only any good at hitting players that wander about with their head up their arse, if he plays against anyone with any skill, he'll run dry in 1.3 seconds & then get picked off with ease. Although I suspect hell edit those bits out of his video, like every other YouTube wanker, I mean warrior 😏

    Recently acquired a MK18 NGRS from a friend, since outfitted it with all PTS furniture, angry gun can and PEQ & torch combo I am very pleased with how this has turned out hopefully over lockdown I can get a Gate Titan installed ready for lockdown to be lifted

    The issue is that there are so many solid M4's out there, that it's actually easier to compile a list of manufacturers/product lines to not buy. Also, you don't mention your budget. So I will tell you a few of brands that I would personally avoid: - VFC: look great externally but are made of cheese internally. - Ares: Funky electronics (that will do 3rd burst) but are made of cheese internally. - KWA: Apparently are reasonable guns, but proprietary parts can be a ball ache for upgrades. - Krytac: See KWA - SRC: Nasty - Specna Edge**: Looks ok externally (and loads of rail/length choices), but are wank internally. Once re-shimmed, greased and a fair few parts switched out, will work ok until the gearbox shell breaks because...you guessed it... it's made of cheese. Again, this is my personal avoid list - I'm sure the others will disagree. **Note, my criticism of Specna is leveled only at the Edge Series. The 'Core' and 'One' series are supposed to be reasonably decent as they have (according to rumour) different OEMs.

    My Lee's precision engineering adapter came today so I can fit my MK23 silverback supressor to my MTW!! I'm quite pleased with how it looks! A bit different to the KAC one I've been using! That can be my CQB one 😂

    Agreed. You gotta.know when to roll with the punches and when to quit and run. I'm up for any argument if it comes to me. But will never go looking for one. I believe we are all kindred spirits here and our aim(no pun intended) is to share knowledge and some have more knowledge than others.That is what makes the world go round.     If this thread helps people make an informed decision about a purchase or as others have send help sellers with advice what's the harm. If you put something on here for too much money and people have banter with you then deal with it. Either you don't sell it or you have to rethink the ad. To be fair the majority of listings are fair so never make it to this thread.

    This thread is certainly an unusual setup, but its purpose is to highlight to prospective buyers what acceptable pricing for secondhand gear should be so they dont unwittingly get ripped off. It also shows sellers the issues that might lead to them not getting much demand for the items they're selling be it price, poor description, bad images etc. Sometimes folk just dont realise how an ad appears to a prospective buyer. It works both ways though, if someone drops an ad in here that's actually fair then that point will be raised too. For example the debate about avenger's fal has multiple perspectives going on. Of course it is steeped in banter, but nothing worse than you're going to encounter at your local site. But if someone is willing to take on criticism then it's a helpful environment, if they arent then it's open season for a bit of entertainment.
