    THE TM MWS thread

I have got to the bottom of what’s occurring and thought I would share so anyone having the same issue might have a chance of setting it right. So the hop assembly is perfect. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. The bucking itself is in perfect condition with zero wear and everything else is exactly how it should be. the anomaly I found was on the nozzle guide. I noticed some abnormal wear along the edge where the hop dial goes over when the BCG is in its forward position. It looks like the nozzle guide plastic is ever so slightly warped towards the front end. There is a slight increment/curve upwards in the plastic which from what I can gather is causing it to catch on the hop dial (there was a slight knick out the dial in the spot I would have my hop set and wear/burs along the edge of the guide). As the dial is click forward to turn off it stands to reason that with every shot fired, as the carrier is returning to its forward position it is catching on the dial and turning it off with a few clicks every shot you take. This all rings true to the symptoms so I believe I have my culprit. the nozzle guide is very malleable so I have bent it a little, flattening out the curve and I have also shaved a mm of the plastic away along the edge in question incase it rides back up again. Inevitably I will order the AG Nozzle Guide as it’s made of a harder plastic and less likely for this to happen again but in the mean time the temp fix seems to be working as intended. I hope this information helps people experiencing the same issue now or in the future. From looking around it doesn’t appear to be a common issue so it’s nice to have an actual cause and solution.

  3. I am knackered fellas! I met up with loads of new people. Got merry and drunk. Vienna was cool and quiet with nice Jazz Cafes, I saw an American Punk rock band visiting Bratislava called Good Riddance in a very intimate underground show ( I used to love them as a kid) I also nearly got arrested for playing guitar and teaching the Slovaks some Greenday songs at 3AM. Budapest was another kettle of fish, dirty, Ruin bars and alcohol everywhere, I managed to pick up a FULL set of Hungarian camo in my exact size for exactly 40 euros including the hat which is impossible to get outside of Eastern Europe. Lots of history, the food was a bit bland everywhere and a let down so much so I actually lost 5lbs over the past 9 days, but alcohol was good. I got invites to go to Serbia soon from a couple I partied away with. It's opened my eyes and I think it means I will be selling more of my Airsoft collection and bring it back down to under single figures. I need to experience this more and do the Digital Nomad thing! I got to visit the birthplace of my Grandmother and resting place of my Great Grand Parents in Baden for the first time, which was really rewarding. I am so exhausted though. The flight delays took the piss and I had to take a three hour Bus journey home from Central last night. Either way. It was great. Cheers for checking in on me! This is where I went to, no one else had a stock of Hungarian Surplus. Good guys, and they couldnt believe I ran a Hungarian kit at home.

    Tell Us a Gag. Please!

Johnny asks his dad how a country runs. His dad thinks and replies, ‘Well, it’s like this. I earn the money in the house, so I’m the rich. Your mum takes care of running the home, so she is the government. The maid is the working class, and your baby brother is the future. And finally you Johnny, are the average citizen.’ That night Johnny is woken up by his baby brother’s cries. He goes to the crib and notices that his brother has soiled his nappy. He runs to his mum and finds her fast asleep. He then goes to the maid’s room and finds her in bed with his father. He returns to his bed. The next day Johnny tells his dad that he has the working of a country all figured out. His dad asks him to explain. “A country is where an average citizen can’t get proper sleep as the rich are screwing the working class, the government is fast asleep and the future is full of shit.

    RIFs on a Plane

I recently came back from Poland with a RIF successfully. There are some things you shall have to consider, mainly that being the airline, where you're going to/coming from and who you ask. Some Airlines have a strictly no RIF policy, some allow them, some charge fees for transportation. What is normally requested is that the RIF is inside a hard case, which is securely locked. The RIF must not have the magazine inserted, nor should neither the RIF or magazine be loaded. I normally slightly disassemble my guns too. If you want to ask about it, don't ask the baggage people. It's always better to ask the security or put it through nothing to declare. Should they need to check it, allow them. They may ask more questions after you've passed the security point however you shouldn't normally be questioned- it depends entirely on who you go to and where you are. That's about it.

  20. Not entirely sure how much i'd trust a source that includes a sales link. But if there's been a reformulation of the chemistry of nimh cells to eliminate memory this is the first i've heard of it, surprising companies haven't at least re-named it to avoid the stigma of the old cells.

  23. I don’t trust people. Visually they look the same, and on closer inspection it would not be easy to know the difference between an emptied cartridge that still has a primer and a genuine deactivated inert cartridge. Even with the primer still in place there’s not likely to be a negligent discharge without some effort, but I’d be wary of someone just telling me they are fully inert. There are valid uses for an inert dummy, but that can include clear markings and unusual colours or a film prop etc where they would possibly at the moment want manufactured dummy inerts rather than modifications. Unless there’s a real need for close up realism then I’d prefer someone’s dressing up to be based on used cartridges or to have a hole where the primers cap would be https://www.cobra-ts.eu/en/blog-article/inert-deactivated-or-neutralized-ammunition-what-is-it-and-what-is-the-law-saying-about-it

  24. I put a load of 1 litre bottles in the freezer to take with me last time, but the panic and rush of getting the lad sorted for his D of E expedition meant I forgot to take them. Ironically I was at Sentinel in Dunstable and his expedition site was less than 2 miles away, so there was no need to panic, nor get his mate's mum to take him. Nowt like proper planning eh? 🤣🤣🤣

    Charging Batteries

I was given the advice above, got some 7.4 LiPos and the SkyRC S65, and it worked out great. The Sky charger is a good bit of kit (though the instruction manual kind of assumes you know everything, recommend watching some YT videos) and it will also cycle charge NiMH batteries meaning they will be better off too. I kept hold of my NiMHs as backup, can't hurt.

  33. As one of the Yanks who was lounging around listening to Rolling Stones hits when you attacked I salute your efforts. I could not believe you'd got that close without anyone spotting you, and the woeful cry of "Medic" woke 1st Platoon from it's post-lunch slumber as we tried to work out what the hell was going on. Believe me we all got a telling off afterwards about inattentive sentries, which clearly didn't go in, as after we'd evited the NVA/VC from the Firebase later in the day, I made the mistake of standing in the open outside my bunker, only to hear a "ping" as a sniper shot bounced off my helmet, and watched our medic run straight past me... From the US point of view it was quite unnerving with all the hit and run tactics, but I did laugh at the number of times the VC attacked our position just at the point relief troops were being rotated in. If only you'd turned up a few minutes earlier we'd have been in serious trouble. As it was 1st Platoon was down to 3 men defending our radio mast at one point, having lost our officer and the radio guy, which made for an intense period waiting for our relief to turn up. Anyway I completely agree with all the sentiments. The gameplay was great and I'd thoroughly recommend these events just for the atmosphere and amazing effort put into the kits.

Before and after of my current pet project. Still lots to do but it's coming along. Was meant to just be a light restoration by removing the old camo job but added - angry gun surefire set , kac rail with 1-15 numbers , hao Castle nut , warlord sling plate and new stock as the original was fubar.

I think the only thing I will change in the future is the trigger and the bolt.. But for now I'm pretty chuffed with how it looks!

  38. Of course, the real unforgivable offence is posting Reddit clickbait here. Man, woman, I don't see gender, I just see an HPA wanker and a burger-roid-raging plonker who seems incapable of shouting the word "hit!". I don't know about you chaps / lady-chaps, but at the sites where I play, the briefing tends to make a point that you'll stop getting shot if and when you acknowledge the hit.

    Pistol work

I’ve done a lot of pistol builds over the years , many moons ago it was a real chore with lots and lots of fettling required , slide to frame fit being the biggest issue for a pistol that’s going to work at the end of it . Nightmares about a Prime / Tokyo Marui SIG226 kit still haunt me to this day My last few have been an absolute breeze to be totally honest , mostly guarder kits onto TM pistols , a couple of Glocks , a Beretta and a 226e2 . the production quality has certainly stepped up in my humble opinion so I’d be as bold to say just have a crack yourself , a decent fitting micro driver set , some good quality pin punches and a good clean workspace and just get on and try . Take photos as you go or video it and take your time
