About 2 months. It was literally about a year after breaking 3 in an mtb over the bars crash on roots and rocks. Painkillers is the key with broken ribs, otherwise you avoid coughing sneezing etc and can end up with aspiration pneumonia. In truth though, they only hurt when I breathed π2 points -

I'd respectfully disagree. The Orion gearboxes are notoriously weak, the XASR does nothing except offer contact protection and spit its dummy if you put a meatier motor in, and they are fussy about mags. My Edge SA-E02 has been fine, but I've been lucky. If I were buying an M4 now in that price range, I'd be looking the Double Eagles M9xx Fire Control System guns.2 points -

Absolutely gutted bud - -and on opposing teams to boot! I still haven't gathered the courage to properly check the SRS over. I think the scope is fucked, but that's alright cos it's a vortex lol. And there he is! The man himself! Thanks to this chap I wasn't pissing blood all over the game area making a mess π Thanks again dude.2 points -

Not really about what I bought, but WHERE I bought it. I ordered two 40mm, 72 round Moscarts from actionhobbies.co.uk Never ordered from them before, but ran through trustpilot and they have good reviews. This morning I got a phone call from them, apologising. The Moscarts are out of stock in that size. I can wait for them to come back in stock OR they can send me the next size up, at no extra charge, which I will receive in time for this weekend's game. Great customer service! Newbie - Gun Recommendations?
Rogerborg reacted to SilverCloud for a topic
Hi All, Newbie here and just started to get into the sport, really enjoyed it and looking forward to the next one, I have been using site rentals for the moment as want to reserve some cash from buying a two tone so that when I get my UKARA membership I have the ability to buy a decent RIF. Budget of around Β£200-300 so will certainly be able to get some decent options to consider. I am pretty pinned on an M4 AEG with a 20mm Rail for attachments, but with some many brands out there it's hard to know where to begin and what others may recommend. Looking more for a Tan/Dark Earth based colour scheme and metal construction for the look and feel. I have seen a nice looking ARES AEG but seen some comments to sway away from ARES... Ares/EMG AEG Sharps Bros Licensed M4 "Hellbreaker-M" with EFCS (Dark Earth) - Zero One Airsoft Will also be looking to add some form of Holo Sight on there as well, so recommendations on that would be great also! Feel free to share your loadouts as it will help to understand who is using what.1 point -

I laugh at the banter, but bust ribs do flaming hurt. Mine took a couple of months to heal too. They clicked like castanets at first. I did actually play with them broken, but I only walked and didn't run.1 point -

Less is more, thus shaved is more than bushed.. Warhead brushless question
Skara reacted to Badgerlicious for a topic
The newer one use more epoxy on the pcb. The pins on my black have been very slightly twisted to aid in motor removal, and they are working fine. It's worth exercising some caution since they are soldered, but I doubt the newer ones will jump off out of the blue. Works fine with my perun ab++ on a 7.4v. Another vote for the warhead. I have a black high speed on a 7.4v titan, and it's a great motor. The efficiency means I can just run the one battery all day. On 13:1 gears it gets about 24rps but I only use burst fire.1 point -

I'd been wanting to play with you for so long. I've seen you've played proving grounds a few times and we are both SRS owners so was looking forward to this. Little did I know it was you. So much damage in our sport although I'm glad you are on your feet and at least reflecting on the incident, the ribs will be a bummer but hopefully you're not out of action for too long dude. When we pulled up in the car park as well you were the first person I saw, beaming smile and a "Good morning".1 point -
Well my dispute is in with Aliexpress so Iβll see what happens with that, but in the meantime Iβm pretty much done with my Clay Spenser build. One or two little touches left to do, needs a better charging handle, but other than that, even with the damage, Iβm very happy with it. I think it looks great with my Jason Hayes build.1 point

I find that you are far more likely to get hit by customs charges with anything that is above 2kg. Which means it goes through Parcelforce who are far more on it then RM. Had 12 mags delivered today from WGC where I got stung. But some light Polymer parts from WGC came through RM with no issues. A whole rifle will very likely be stung.1 point

Rogerborg reacted to Johndaniel4863 for a topic
@Rogerborg the only parts that Borderforce would enforce would be Section 36 VCRA as that creates a prohibition of importing a RIF which can then be enforced under CEMA 1979 as we would enforce the import offence not the possesion offence if that makes sense? My understanding of the circular is it covers about air weapons and other effects that VCRA could have on the Firearms Act 1968 such as the example it gives where it talks about Imitation Firearms (covered in FA 68 legislation) and Realistic Imitation Firearms which arent defined in FA 68 but are in the VCRA and how VCRA definition of RIF cant be used as defence as its RIF not an IF for example commiting an offence under Section 16 FA68 (make use of a firearm or imitation firearm) and that for intents and purposes of some offences RIF and IF can be the same in law Sam wont have any effect on us and our defences only the Secretary of State can remove our defences in legislation1 point -

Hi @SilverCloudand welcome to the forum π don't write ares off completely. I've had the 013 amoeba for years with no probs and its a great performer. Specna arms are a good choice. Especially the edge series with gate xsr MOSFET. Ground zero is a huge site. Have been playing the nae in Ringwood for quite a few years now. Also you have camouflage near hurn airport. Check out @GAMBLEhe has a tube channel which is fun and informative. Worth a watch to help you get the most out of your new hobby.π have fun, enjoy and cyh (call your hits).π regards1 point

Thanks for your responses everyone. I agree completely about the the requirement to provide a ukara defence for this stuff. And did this get through okay? Would you mind pinging yours over? I think I understand what you mean but want to get this right as not to cause any grief. There is indeed two questions on 'RIF Parts'. Yes the form distinguishes RIF's and IF's but not for parts, it seems to imply any parts must be for a RIF but I could be wrong. This sort of stuff actually opens up another can of worms/questions for me in my situation, but I will avoid opening in here. This particular part being a RIS Cover/Shroud I wouldn't have saw as an issue personally.1 point

Hi! You can find a load out thread with hundreds of pics in the gear section. There are also several threads on good starter rifs. Double Eagles new range get a lot of recommendations, as do G&G for M4 platforms. I wouldn't be too focused on a metal body, pot metal is not necessarily stronger or weightier than decent polymer. If you say what kind of site you play at, it might help with suggestions. Hi! You can find a load out thread with hundreds of pics in the gear section. Time to rotate the optics. The Vortex Crossfire red dot is moving from the MWS to the MP7, and will be replaced by this; Vortex Crossfire II 1-4x24 scope, which will sit in the HAO Industries Geissele clone mount. Have to say the mount, like their rails, is really high quality. Looking forward to switching these up this evening.1 point

Hi, I bought this on the 7th February and it has been skirmished twice. I really just wanted to use an aeg for the mags i was making. It looks as good as new and the original mag is untouched. Swapped out the hop rubber for a maple leaf rubber and omega type nub and gave the barrel a damn good clean- it shoots a lot better now! Battery not included and shoots below 1 joule limit. Never got an exact fps figure as it was just for the aforementioned mags testing. Any questions, drop me a message. Price includes parcelforce48. ThanksΒ£110

So, today was a particularly fun one. Five of us have been playing online games together, for nigh on 20 years. Some of us have never met face to face. This weekend we finally all met up. Three not that far apart, one from Scotland and one from Canada. I've obviously played a lot. One of us had played about 5 games. The Scottish guy had played Airsoft once before. The Canadian played once with me last weekend. That other had never played before today. We went to Red Alert in Newbury. What a superb day. First time at the site for all of us, and it was a great site. Good sized playing area, lots of great terrain and buildings (standard wood builds but good quality and varied), lots of varied game modes, very welcoming staff and they marshals could not have been more engaged. The atmosphere was very good. All five of us had a great day, and all of the varying levels of newbies are very keen to play again and are all talking about getting their own kit (I loaned out a lot of kit today and got it all back in the same condition I lent it out in). Red Alert is highly recommend, I've booked in for their next battlesim weekend. Oh, and we got some comemmerative patches made up for the meet up, that we wore today.1 point -

Random aside, but the Chief Inspector of Constabulary has just noted that "online crime is now by far the most prevalent type of crime, and by means of the internet fraud has exploded; in volume, it eclipses everything" [page 40] "yet fraud indefensibly continues to be treated as a low priority" [page 49] and "police response continues to be a complete pile of wank" [slightly paraphrased]. https://www.justiceinspectorates.gov.uk/hmicfrs/wp-content/uploads/state-of-policing-2021-single-page-format.pdf1 point
