  1. Someone shared this on my springer page. Thought some of you may like to see it. I want a fortune teller.

  2. My first post here, and Yes, you read that right. 51 years of age and I have only just crawled out from under my rock and discovered Airsoft - well about a month ago. Turns out my partner's son has been doing it for years... So, while still full of festive cheer (booze) I agreed to have a go. So I went for a game of CQB in The Mill in Wigan on the 30th December and....I'm hooked. I loved it. My body didn't like it like though. Legs felt like rubber and struggled to climb stairs for 3 days. Lol. And my body looked like it had chicken pox that turned into 19 multicoloured bruises over the next day or so. Well I am 51 and 1.5 stone over weight... Which is one of the reasons why I went, to get a bit fitter... After changing my job from an active plumber and builder I got an office job 6 months ago for a software company and piled on the weight. Struggling to put your shoes on, being late for work 'cos the shirt you just ironed was too tight (true story) I had to start doing something and what can be more fun that running around like a 9 year old playing Pew Pew??? I've had a few goes now, all at the same place. Learning the CQB site so I can focus on improving my skills, what little I have. I must be getting better though as only 2 bruises after the last skirmish. With improved skill and a bit more experience, next week I'm off to another CQB venue to play Pew Pew Wish me luck!!! Ps. Any advice on how to improve my CQB game?

I like the SCAR. Really easy to design around as it's all metric. That or a gas G3.

  6. Hi All, I just picked up a polymer retention holder for my TM Samurai Edge. I googled a lot to check it would fit but as it’s a slightly odd shape the holster was slightly too tight to fit in - no way it would fit at all. Couldnt find any help online so decided to take a chance on a bodge fix - I know you can reheat Kydex to alter the shape so figured it may work with polymer, I stuck it in a pot of boiling water for 10 minutes. When it came out it was still rigid but had some flex to it, managed to ease the pew in a few times then repeated until it fitted properly. Not sure if this is a common thing but thought I’d post in case it was of any help to someone else with a similar issue.

  10. Y U NO fly it urself? Ba-dum tsss. Wow, that's a new one, and very concerning. Truth is whatever the most powerful party asserts that it is. Given that eBay and PayPal have recently divorced, I hope that they're still on speaking terms. Worst case though you should get a refund from PayPal, or ultimately whatever you used to pay them. This also concerns me, in terms of how you can persuade a gang of thugs not to just rob you blind a second time. (Existential angst brought on by a brutal mugging from HMRC this week)

Interesting stuff on that bizarre trigger set up! Thanks to @Tacklefor the heads up on the MP18. The thing went before I even PM'd the seller. New pew below. Nice smooth bolt on first impression. Purchase of budyonovka is imminent.

I'm going to suggest the SA58 because I only recently learned it's a thing, and I like FALs https://www.pellpax.co.uk/airsoft-bb-guns/airsoft-rifles/aeg-operated-bb-airsoft-rifle/classic-army-aeg-sa58-rifle/3344 https://jdairsoft.net/asg-dsa-sa-58-osw I have no idea if they're any good, or which is the best to get... I just think they're cool

  18. Hi and welcome to the madhouse young un' 🙂 51? You are in your best years. Experience, stamina and a good vocabulary of swear words all well suited for airsoft lol. Been in the building trade nearly all my life and I have found that helps me keep relatively fit although I'm carrying a bit extra now. Well done for striking out and haven't taking up a new hobby. It's gonna cost ya though! Cqb can be brutal but you learn to wear thicker clothes 😆 Have a go at some woodland games if you can. More walking and bigger areas to cover but a slightly more relaxed pace and plenty of new tricks to learn. I just take things at a speed that's comfortable for me.....slow! Lol Remember softly softly catchee monkey. If it becomes a pain or a chore then stop doing what you are doing and try a different approach. Above all remember you are paying so enjoy 😉 Good luck and call your hits 🙂 Regards

  21. Having been through a very similar situation recently, with John Lewis and a vr headset thermal shutdown issue, I wish you best of luck. Just make sure you have everything in writing and record calls where it can't be done via email.

  22. i suspect the way this situation will end is the retailer will offer to fix the gnu (which iirc you have to give them one chance outside of 6 months), then proceed to put the minimal possible cost/effort into doing it, which frankly is probably going to end up the same anyway. if it were me i'd just replace the piston and call it at that. although in fairness, warranties mean very little to me because they're always longer than the time it takes for me to get bored and start tinkering.....

  25. Mixed day for me, mostly good but one downer and one item lost So off to Special Ops for the first game of the year. I spent so much time sorting out my kit my wife was taking the piss out of me... Revenge for New Year's Eve when she packed a suitcase for one night and I ripped on her 😋 The downer was when I took my newly painted F2000 to the range to dial in the hop at full distance for the first time. Chronoing bang on 350fps with. 20g, the damn thing would not lift my 0.28g BB's at all and consequently would not get past 30m. I only had a handful of 0.20s left so that wasn't an option really I took the gun to the play field but just stuck with the DE, and had a great time with it. I did take the F2000 with me, and this is where I lost a bit of kit. The sight protector bought from eBay for my Amazon-special Kingscope red dot got knocked off somewhere in transit. I'll have to get another and fix it in place... Velcro or glue. Did get a compliment from the site tech about the F2000's paint job, so I was keen to fix it at lunchtime to use it for the rest of the day I decided to do some field tech work on the hop. I reinforced the nub with a small length of fine plastic straw inserted in to it That didn't seem to make the bucking impinge too much into the barrel but I started getting lots of misfeed and double feeds. So I 'abandoned shit' and left it behind for the afternoon. Bought a second hi capa mag to cheer myself up 🙂 More good times with the DE ... Great day out, good sportsmanship all round.

    Multi charge board

I've mixed capacity before as the packs are the same cell count but don't mix cell counts (different total voltage). If all your packs are resting at the same voltage then its OK. For a good guide it's worth having a run through videos by Joshua Bardwell as a good guide. If you do decide that it's not for you then I'd look at a multipack charger. Skyrc and isdt both do a good duel charger, it's effectively two chargers sharing a psu, but you can set each one separately.

I use them for flight batteries and they can be used safely. Do some reading around parallel charging lipos, then decide if it's for you. If all you batteries are the same then its easier.

  32. Reporting for duty. And yup to all of the above. Pad the bony bits. Stay alive until Aliens motion trackers go retail. I prefer the intensity and up-close-and-personalnessness of CQB, but woodland makes for an interesting (and literal) change of pace. It's all good, and an excuse to blow the kids' inheritance on different costumes and toys that you don't really need.

    THE TM MWS thread

I have no first hand experience but I know through a combination of anecdotal evidence from friends that G&P parts are usually a great fit without the need for dicking about. An example of said evidence can be found here. Though no longer actively taking part in the hobby Rob ahs a lot of experience with the MWS and the variety of good and not so good replica parts to go on them so his word is pretty reliable. While not the SPR kit the MRE kit is similar in terms of included components. The standout quote from the article being: 'The build has been fairly straightforward other than going on a G&P part number odyssey to try and track down some of these older parts. Speaking of G&P, overall their parts have fitted the MWS with no issues whatsoever and I would wholeheartedly reccomend any of their products that I have used.' Not a first hand account, and as always to be taken with a pinch of salt as QC in airsoft is such a mixed bag... but hopefully somewhat useful nonetheless.

  41. Proper knee pads make playing as an "oldie" so much easier, I'm 50 this year and they've been a God send, I can hide in low down places and take sneaky shot while others run around collecting boxes and flipping barrels 😁 (proper ones though from, like from Alta)

  46. You'll need an aeg buffer tube with mounting hardware, then you'll likely have to cut down the mounting tube to match the length required in the buffer tube or make a spacer. You'll also need an aeg sling plate to seal the back of the receiver and guide the wiring into the tube. Ak2m4.co.uk is a good place to start for buffer tube, they had some with hardware included.

  47. I brought the Cyma brand new and gutted it straight away as I got it to DMR it 😂 First spring I put in should have given it around the 440fps mark with a .20 clocked in at a highly illegal 562fps 😲
