  1. Chest rig and keep moving. Free mag heating from the warmth emanating from within, powered by the smugness of knowing I have the superior airsoft system with which to play a glorified children’s game of hide and seek.

Been into airsoft now about 5 months, just got my UKARA a few days after Xmas.. I'm a child in a toy store.. so many goodies. I've been running an M4 style with plate carrier so have reduced that somewhat to a micro fight rig for smg stylr loadout to go with my Xmas pressies.. Golden Eagle gas shotty and Krytac Kriss Vector.. I'm on a budget so bought used, but I'm pretty stoked.

  4. I've never understood the must win at all costs mentality. Sure its a nice feeling when you do manage to get all objectives, but to me it's a bonus. Also some of the most enjoyable games I've had have been when I've been on the receiving end of an arse kicking

  5. Yup, I've done exactly the same thing, with a slight twist as I'm the FNG who has been turning up as a solo Billy No-Mates, as my usual airsoft companion has been kept away by work. I don't want to feel left out, so got a name tag just to 'grease the wheels' socially. I wish everyone did it because I am absolutely frickin' terrible with remembering names!

  6. Ammo is the first thing to look at. I think you've identified the problem yourself. Only use decent ammo, it's too expensive to use cheap ammo.

  7. Yep. Still waiting for my refund. Can't be arsed chasing them.anymore. PayPal dispute going in. Ordered the C2R belt at 1110 today. At 1152 received an email saying it's shipped. That's how it should be done 🤜

  8. This might sound silly, but I actually have a name tag, it's just my first name as a velcro patch. While it doesn't help me with other people's names, it helps them with mine and I have noticed more people chat to me when I have it than when I don't. As I've been doing Airsoft for 10 years, I have a lot of kit, know a few people on site, am older etc but I want to be approachable to any player and newer players especially so making it easy for them to chat to me seems a good way of doing this, they are the future of the sport. I've always hated going to sites where the older/regular players almost seemed unapproachable. I also figure that if I'm wearing a name patch, people figure that I want them to know my name and probably chat to me, which again I think helps. I swear this has made people I don't know feel more comfortable chatting to me.

  9. I was in the gym changing rooms at lunchtime with my mate Tom. I turned around to speak to him and couldn't help noticing that he was wearing a lace thong. 'Bloody hell mate!' I said. 'How long have you worn skimpy women's lace underwear?!' 'Since my wife found some in the glove compartment of my car,' he replied.

  10. A couple of additions to change the look of my UAR. Bought a basic CYMA metal suppressor and a couple of cheap Battleaxe HiCaps which have a beefy 380rnd capacity, a rather useful capacity check window and some nice rubber textured surfaces that also look rather spiffing compared with normal bland STANAG units. Haven't test fired it yet with the suppressor however can't see it causing any issues. Looks lightly more space marine-y to my eyes. 4x40 scope to be added within the coming weeks.

Fair point, Mrs Borg has fast walking trainers, and slow walking trainers, and several pairs in between. I refrain from questioning that, as she chooses to accept that I only have one black gun, and one beige one.

    New around here

Hey, I have stopped in the forum a few times to ask some questions but never really stuck around. I have been playing Airsoft a few years now. Mainly CQB just becuase that was my local site. I want to check out some more woodland sites but I'm not sure if I can justify buying the second loadout... or can I? Anyway, I do like to talk about airsoft as my friends keep telling me. I'm in the Bristol area.

But also: "1. The game is physically and mentally intense and may require extreme exertion to play." But no running. Do they make you do push-ups before respawning? Why do they call it a waiver? Tell me they don't have... "Release: I hereby release, remise and forever discharge from any claims and liabilities whatsoever without limitations that I might have against FREE FIRE ZONE Ltd. and the owners of the property on which the game is being played." It's never not funny that people actually waste their time writing that, or making you read or "agree" to it. 🙄

  21. This airsoft lark is worse than having a crack habit isn't it? My F2000 Battlefield 4 build slowly takes shape... got one of the "Amazon specials" red dot sights as it's the spitting image of the games' Coyote sight View down the sight (difficult to get the focus right, but the reticle is sharp in reality) All in all, it's pretty damned nice for £23, next day (Prime) delivery. The actual design means it won't survive being bashed on a tree, it's got nothing on my Kobra, but the build quality is decent. Next step is to try to build / bodge a RIS rail into the handguard so I can put a stubby grip on it...

  23. it's entirely plausible that some guns will be better at handling bad ammo. especially as you start pushing for more performance they can become fussier eaters.

  24. And that is why being forced to play in clubs is a massive plus We get to know each other relatively well and we can spot dickheads right away (and handle them properly before they cause any sort of damage).

    Joining a Team?

Thanks for the replies. I think I will take the advise and try to network a bit. It's just I play at a popular site and I have never seen or heard of a team playing there. People also tend to come and go a bit. You guys made me realise though that I talk with people I don't know every game but I don't think I have ever stopped to ask someone their name. Maybe "seriously" was a poor choice of words.

    Joining a Team?

When I went to my first airsoft game, I turned up alone, not knowing anyone and had a great time. After about a year of going it was apparent that two teams on site always played on the opposing teams. One team took it serious had 1IC 2IC etc and had training days etc. They also wanted to 'win', sometimes leading to over competitive tactics. The other team tended to be more a group of mates being 'part of a team' but mostly in it for the banter and a laugh. When the second team started taking it more seriously, they began taking on more and more members, and often only had one or two on site on any game day. The beginning of getting competitive also led to people leaving as it wasn't as fun anymore.

  31. If it is possible, is there any chance we could either get the badges retroactively or just do away with the system? I'm not saying it's the end of the world and if it's a lot of work then it makes sense to just ignore it entirely, but the fact it says I earned the 'rookie' rank in July this year does cause some minor dissonance in my brain.

  32. Yet another for the Baofeng 5R’s , I’ve accrued 5 or 6 over the years(both my sons play as well) and a shed full of fist mic’s and D shape ear pieces to go with them as there cheap as chips on fleabay , if a particular rig is flavor of the month I’ll leave the comm’s set up on the rig to save fannying around re-threading it each time I play ! Antenna wise I use a flexible on the back of my rig with an extension cable threaded through the molle to the hand set or a 12inch wip antenna if using a chest rig or belt set up , if the weathers looking a bit shitty I just stick the radio in a plastic bag with a couple of the silica packs you get with packages and a bit of Lekky tape wrapped around the cable to stop moisture getting in and effecting the handset . if I’m playing indoor CQB and there’s a risk of loud bangs I use a set of Howard Leight impact sports with a cable from the the fist mic to the auxiliary port on the cans .

  33. The Tuna build's lookin good @RostokMcSpoons. I like the idea of a simple RDS and bought one from Amazon last summer, sadly my eyes didn't agree (astigmatism) I couldn't get it in focus no matter what I did, so back it went. Fiddlesticks. It's a pity there don't seem to be any airsoft F2000 scopes around, cos that really would look the dug's baws.

  37. It'll be the bbs causing it, the cheap bbs are usually poor. Stick to better quality bbs and you'll have fewer issues I'm sure. Good good getting everything cleared.

  38. Yes, you can actually see the foam cells closing up. If you're having trouble mustering up a sufficiently big blast, watching some Kamui Cosplay might help.

  39. Have you hit it with a heat gun to seal the foam? I then cheaped out and used Poundland PVA glue, which works fairly well to create a tough but flexible base.

    Joining a Team?

If your thinking about wanting to join a team and have to ask the ‘team’ if you can join OR you see “my team is looking for new members” ? don’t . Only successful teams I’ve ever come across(my own team included) are made up of players who already knew each other to a certain extent wether outside of or through Airsofting , the members where invited to join the team (they didn’t ask to join it)AND they all had the attitude of it’s just a bit of fun running around shooting each other and having a laugh . Plus there’s no ‘rank’ or leadership structure in them either , it’s all by mob rule !😆On the whole my experience of interacting with structured teams was they where either all up their own arses about there ability/kit/knowledge (hence they’d migrated to each other’s company as no one else actually liked them that much) or you had one very strong/bossy/walt’ish character who was fluent in ‘Call of Duty’ speak as the ‘team leader’ and then a couple of kids who thought he was Andy McNab because of this !

    Joining a Team?

I may have been a little harsh, but I would definitely echo that organically improving your communication and teamwork with people that you already play with is likely to work out very differently than trying to form or join a team that's based on principles, mottoes, patches or [shudders] winr8. I'm sure there are plenty of exceptions, but I've had some bad experiences playing against Team Teflon Walt. "Stacking" groin-to-bum seems to be the switch that engages God Mode.

    Tell Us a Gag. Please!

Hi all. If anyone on here is interested I've just heard that the British museum has recently taken delivery of a new exhibit. It's an Egyptian mummy but instead of the usual mummification process this one was covered in chocolate and crushed nuts. They have called it Pharaoh Rochè....😀😀 Regards

  47. Sorry to have to say this (yet again) but I would bin that bloody thing before it explodes or burns your house down. We've had report after report after report about them failing. When it says "NEVER LEAVE CHARGER UNATTENDED WHILE IN USE" it really means it. A 2A charger should charge a 1.6Ah battery in under an hour. If it's been shoving current in for 9 hours it's been cooking it. However, I'd hazard a guess that the battery is fully charged, but that the charger can't recognise that. Nimh is a bit of a sod to charge. The charger doesn't know what voltage the battery is meant to be, all it can do is to shove current in until it detects the battery resistance rising sharply when it's full. If it fails to spot that rise happening, it's liable to just keep pumping energy in indefinitely. If you stick with it, only use it for under an hour, and disconnect it if the battery start to heat up. Or take the plunge and get yourself onto better technology. Lipo cells are really cheap now (see HobbyKing) and can deliver higher current in a smaller package. You'll not see much difference between a 7.4V lipo and a 9.6V nimh. On chargers, we're liking the SkyRC S65 or the IDST Q6 nano at the moment.
