  1. "What does everyone really think of kickingmustang?" He's a cunt. /thread
  2. Whilst I dont care what patches someone wears, again I'd apply good taste and considering what's going on right now, having Zs on your shoulders or brain bucket is probably not the cleverest thing to do is it. As for spreading as the title puts it "questionable politics", I.e. the complete and utter spanner referenced in @Rogerborg's post above, I think we'd all agree that we want none of that shit anywhere near Airsoft. Eezer G
  3. Thanks to @Spartan09 for starting this one! My family history that I alluded to in the other thread:- Firstly, I goofed, it was my great-great-grandfather who fought in the Somme. Lived to the ripe old age of 96. Smoked like a chimney (pipes, none of these daft cigs etc), had a nip of Malt every night - he swore by its health benefits! - read his Bible every day and lived through some stuff, including losing his son (my great-grandfather) in a horrific mining accident (my dad's side were all miners). He never spoke of the Great War or his experiences of the Somme, other than one incident, where he recalled one of his comrades having to get his leg amputated in the field, and them all singing louder and louder to try and drown out the screams. Absolutely harrowing and massive respect for all those who gave everything. On the other side was my great-uncle who as I also alluded to originated in Poland and was forced to flee the occupation due to his religion. He and his brother were being rounded up and put on the trains to the camps when they managed to escape and made it across Europe, settling in Scotland, anglicised his name and married my Granny's sister - funnily enough my Granny's side being a mix of Irish and... German! Having a German surname in the war/post-war years in Britain got them all a fair bit of stick at School etc. Other family members did National Service - Gramps was in the RAF Coastal Command, had a Great Uncle who went to Malaya when the bother was on over there, all had interesting stories thst could fill entire books. My love and respect for them runs deep. My own military connections are nowhere near as exciting, limited to being a former avionics engineer at a defence firm and currently serving as a CI with my local Air Cadet Squadron, however I have the relatively comfortable life I have due to the great sacrifices of my forefathers. Respect and gratitude. Anyway, just my background, for what it's worth. Thanks to all others for sharing their equally treasured stories. Eezer G
  4. I recently got CM028U which I am rather enjoying so far, decent quality for the price and shoots rather nicely. A bit more moolah gets you metal bodies and wood but you pays your money and takes your choice.
  5. Aye, same shite, different name. Covid, Climate Change, you name it, bandwagon jumped on, hysteria abounds and we all get shafted. Oops sorry went off on one again. I'll stop now. I promise. *twitch twitch*
  6. If we take that view, any war has its oppos and anyone can take offence at anything. Where do we stop. Germans getting offended at British D-Day kit... Yanks offended at VC loadouts... Jedi offended by Stormtroopers... Covenant airsofters disgusted by Spartan loadouts... Next we'd be banning shemaghs as the wrong colour will offend someone (a genuine cultural fopah in the Gulf but we airsofters tend to ignore it, mainly out of ignorance). Personally, there's good taste to be accounted for, however it's still just a bit of dress-up. My great-grandfather fought in the Somme. Another family relative was a Jew who escaped to Scotland with his bro from Poland in 1939 when they were all getting rounded up and sent to camps. His remaining family were wiped out in the horrors that followed. Whilst I'm fully aware and appreciative of history, I'm afraid I am not offended in the slightest if someone turns up to my local field in SS kit with toy guns. Thats just me, again there's the question of what is good taste, and others may be for good reason more sensitive which regardless of my more Liberal views I do respect.
  7. I'm not sure our esteemed politicians give a flying fornication regarding that. Politics is politics, and faced with hysterical mania its a bandwagon our Internationalist, Interventionist, spend-thrift tax thieves will be all too willing to jump on to virtue-signal and show their peers how they "faced up to" "danger" and "took action". Meanwhile large numbers of perfectly innocent citizens minding their own business have yet another thing taken away from them, and the descent from liberty to totalitarianism quickens. Oops sorry for the rant. Forgot this was AFUK not Guido Fawkes.
  8. Pfft nah, Poundland's finest gaffa tape. I'm no made o' pounds...
  9. Sign of the times Mr. Borg. I'm also having having my fun whilst I can before Fishi Nutsak or whatever other dripping wet Fun Police Socialist stooge/UnHolyrood prat is in power next decides to come for us. Worrying as there's been a few "incidents" involving teenagers and airsoft guns up our way of recent, only a matter of time before it starts getting Meedja coverage and the inevitable hysterical clamour to "Dae Sumhin" starts.
  10. Nope - if it works, don't feck with it... Nice piece too. Eezer G
  11. Well done. You are now a tech! I need to take the UAR apart again. Hop-up unsatisfactory and big joule drop again. Thought I'd sorted the air leak and rubber not torn so not sure what's going on.
  12. Nice - although the skinflint Scot in me would still just use tape 🤣
  13. <Steering well away from the politics and arguments>.......... The fact remains many folk don't like guns, whether real or not. That gives ammunition - pun intended - who seek to further regulate or completely cancel our hobby. Fear and ignorance are a dangerous mix. It's a wonder the way things are going in this country that they haven't come for us yet. Eezer G
  14. Interesting topic and viewpoints. A big part of our hobby is dress- up, let's face it. A bit like @Skullchewer above I'm into my spaceman patches and am definitely a walty Spartan/ODST/DoomGuy/Space Marine. I've seen all kinds of loadouts on the field, including very accurate RusFor (complete with Zs etc) and SS uniforms. None of which has offended me in the slightest. That kind of thing is not for me - I'm into my own personalised look rather than accurate impressions but that's just me. If someone wants to dress up as a "baddie" that's their bag. I'll just do my thing, they do theirs, and as long as we all play fairly and have fun that's all I care for. Must admit, I do rather like the Space Shuttle Door Gunner patch above... definitely a worthy addition to my Space Marine Beefcake shoulder armour... Eezer G
  15. Bugger, that's one of my favourite counter tactics busted then. I always follow the wee flashy lights... that or the posey patches, or the black loadouts that stick oot in the woods like a fart in a boudoir, or the two-tone gnus... and there was me thinking I was some clever hawk-eyed Master Chief airsoft floperator stalking about the woods. Ach well, back to the drawing board then.
  16. Hi ParHunter, Looking back at my post I think I came across as a bit condescending - my apologies! Been a long week and head nipping from being nagged by kids etc. Respect for your service. There's lots of ex and even serving personnel in airsoft, quite a few at my site. Airsoft is pretty different from real steel in that in comparison accuracy is completely crap - we're dealing with 1/5th-1/2 gram plastic pellets shot from a smooth bore pneumatic device with an energy of only 1-2.5j, you could probably fart pellets harder. Mechanically airsoft guns aren't that complex, there's a lot of fear around the inner workings but they are really pretty simple. Honestly, best advice I could give is go and have fun Eezer G
  17. You'd be better forgetting any ideas of range/accuracy and just buying a decent beginner sub-£150 rifle or SMG (read: AR15/AK/MP5 etc) and learning how to play and getting into the sport before getting into more advanced play styles such as DMRs and Sniping. Many start out with big ambitions wanting to be a sniper/marksman having watched the movies or worse the YooChoob fannies like ThickingMudStain or NovitBitch with their heavily edited (read: false/embellished) videos. Reality is somewhat different. Firstly, "accuracy" is a misnomer in airsoft, if you can hit an A4-sized target at 25m you're doing pretty well. Secondly, sniping or DMRing is a very different play style, can be difficult and frustrating for beginners. Me, I find hiding in bushes dressed like a wookiee with a stonking great lance of a gun boring, but that's just me.
  18. Let's be honest, most accessories are pointless. Foregrips I'm still undecided on, generally I'm pretty old school and prefer a traditional hold but my new AK has one so I'm trying it out. RDS is useful, aside from that the rest is for show 😝 there again so is everything else in airsoft!
  19. Aye, all that money... definitely Mack's territory.
  20. After a couple of years of humming and hawing, my stunning and loving wife bought me this as a combined 10th anniversary/36th Birthday present. Finally joined the AK race with this CYMA 028U. I can now see why CYMA AKs are raved about so much. Excellent quality for the price, cycles lovely and crisp and by airsoft standards accurate and consistent. Not sure how it will fit in with my generic scifi Disaster Chief/Orbital Drop Short Trooper/DoomedGuy look, but no matter. Have already nicknamed it "The Lada" in homage to its Soviet/Commie heritage. Two-tone unfortunately however reckon I'll break out the halfords OD spray soon so it can fit in with its other comrades in my plastic armoury.
  21. Agree with your summary. Regardless of the supposed uPgRaDeS or speshul feechures or whatever it is that fails to justify the horriffic price tag, it does the same job as a 100 quid CYMA. I know about the pressures of business right now but PBs prices have really jumped recently, some definitely in Mack's territory now. £190 for a UAR? Takin the pish mate. I love my UAR but there's no chance in Heaven or Hell it's worth almost 200 quid. Don't get me started on their postage costs either.
  22. There's actually quite a few Amazon listing that could be a shoe-in for Mack's. Lots of horrifically over-priced helmets with dodgy eyepro made of the finest Chinese plastics. Examples:- https://www.amazon.co.uk/OneTigris-Airsoft-Fast-Helmet-Protective/dp/B09Y84MBRW/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?crid=2CM13IHQKHQS1&keywords=airsoft+helmet&qid=1680680633&sprefix=airsoft+%2Caps%2C119&sr=8-5 Yours for only £115... cost about a tenner to make! https://www.amazon.co.uk/CZMYCBG-Multicam-Paintball-Protective-Adjustable/dp/B0BM8SXFHS/ref=mp_s_a_1_15?crid=2CM13IHQKHQS1&keywords=airsoft+helmet&qid=1680680633&sprefix=airsoft+%2Caps%2C119&sr=8-15https://www.amazon.co.uk/CZMYCBG-Multicam-Paintball-Protective-Adjustable/dp/B0BM8SXFHS/ref=mp_s_a_1_15?crid=2CM13IHQKHQS1&keywords=airsoft+helmet&qid=1680680633&sprefix=airsoft+%2Caps%2C119&sr=8-15 Over 200 quid!!! Holy hell. Fools and their money etc... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Multifunctional-Tactical-Military-Communication-Replaceable/dp/B0BCP3PYXQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_26_sspa?crid=2CM13IHQKHQS1&keywords=airsoft+helmet&qid=1680680825&sprefix=airsoft+%2Caps%2C119&sr=8-26-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfbXRm&psc=1 Another pile of plastic that breaches the golden £200 mark. Mental... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Will-Outdoor-Protection-Application-Paintball/dp/B07L9WH5NW/ref=mp_s_a_1_15_sspa?crid=2CM13IHQKHQS1&keywords=airsoft+helmet&qid=1680680825&sprefix=airsoft+%2Caps%2C119&sr=8-15-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRmX25leHQ&psc=1 Special mention for this one. Its listed under MOTORCYCLING ffs. You'd have as much protection wearing an IKEA shopping bag over your bonce as this. No ear pro either...
