Shop upgraded my G&G M4 and messed it up
Nick G and one other reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
apart from the hop chamber doesn't seem like the worst combo. although even with good parts things can still get messed up in the assembly. however it might not be the assembly, misfeeding can equally be caused by mags/ammo (bad ammo can jam up and the mag spring might not be strong enough to overcome it, for midcaps at least) the other possibility is the hop setting, you can get some weird things with the hop either fully on or fully off, so you generally want to be testing with the hop set (turn it off then on a little if it's not already dialled in for the ammo)2 points -

Omw back from the Midlands Airsoft Fair. It was okay, but not quite as good as the last one in 2019, imo. Picked up a CYMA AK74U, a few mags & sights and that was about it. Typical that I realised I could have got myself a railed upper receiver for it there too, only AFTER I'm on the way home. 😤😂2 points -
Finally got something that had been on my list for quite a while now. And to boot, it's the gun of a deceased friend, which he had sold off prior to his death and which has now found its way to me on mysterious pathways 😌 Hephaestus HTS-14 Groza, 1st version, with the early full steel silencer and a Pilar scope (civil version of the military scope, that belongs on the Groza but is extremely hard to find), Just need different mount rings, these look aweful. Really happy about this! ☺️2 points

Hello from Toronto
GAMBLE reacted to KRONOMATIK for a topic
Whats going on fellas, Not really a newbie here but since I'm new in these forums, I’d like to wish everyone a blessed evening. Ive Been playing airsoft since 2013 and had since considered airsoft my ultimate pasttime. In the near future i will be moving from Canada to the UK settling in London (outskirts probably) and I am absolutely bring my hobby with me. Prior to signing up in the forums I’ve been doing my own research about buying, Importing, selling, or trading airsoft and gear. I signed up here to gather more information prior to my move. Safe to say, It’s easier to sell my guns here in Toronto and purchase them again once I moved there and get myself a UKARA. My airsoft gears and parts however is left to question. I have a good number of them that I hate to sell and want to bring them over there. For the life of me, I cant seem to find some answers regarding rules on bringing my airsoft gear over the pond. Some of the gears I have are hard for me to sell because I got lucky acquiring them (Optics, mount, comms, soft and hard gears). Besides this, I do hope I get the chance to meet everyone here and hopefully play with you guys. I look forward to everyone’s response All the best. Love, Roberto1 point -
Or should that be big fuckupdate. Important stuff in bold. Between the late hours of 14/07/21 and middle of 16/07/21, AF-UK was offline. This was the longest downtime since migrating the site in 2018 and that shouldn't happen, sorry. This particular update was a major change that required revisions to the server running the forums (and not just the forum software itself), so it shouldn't happen again any time soon. Things to look out for As with any update the search is reindexed and parts of the database rebuilt in the background. The website may not be as quick to respond as you're used to during this 12-hour period starting from when this thread was posted The Classifieds module will be updated in the next 48 hours or so to bring it into line with the core forum software version. Please allow for issues during this time Expect general issues with the website until the site template has been updated This large update to IPS (the forum software) includes various new features. Achievements Yet to fiddle with this one or implement it at all - could be fun, could be really annoying. I would appreciate your patience on this one while I figure out a baseline and then see if it's complained about enough to warrant removal. Given the delays yesterday in getting the site online, I thought it more important to have things up and running rather than look into the detail of this update. I am aware of the issues with it not granting certain achievements that you should already have. This has not yet been set up and might well be removed entirely. Achievements are visible in your profile. In-browser notifications These have been expanded so you might get more than you used to (especially on a mobile device). I have tried to disable notifications until I can get a grasp on how annoying they might become, but this is a new update so may carry a few new ones. AF-UK app Part of the new update is IPS's testing of their app available in early testing on Android and iOS. We are an early user of it (no idea what criteria they base this on). You may be prompted to download the app, but note that very few things in this app are something that I can control. Who knows if the Classifieds will integrate at all. Edit 1: As of 16/07/21 - this appears to not be working. You can see us in the app but not load the forums. I've asked IPS if they can find out what's wrong. Edit 2: As of 17/07/21 - I've been told that the app is currently offline - nothing to do with us and it is in early testing. Should be back some time soon?1 point

Hope the OP gets back on his feet soon! That's a bloody awful looking sprain. Hope you have a pair of crutches handy, that needs resting and gentle manipulation IMHO. As for boots... I have a few pairs of old style Brit army boots as they fit my odd shaped feet well; including the infamous old style '58 pattern DMS ankle boots. To get them supple you have to piss on them for a couple of weeks. Piss and leather food and they're sorted. A squirt of bathroom mould killer deals with any urine fed bacterial issues.1 point -

Or buy a tile bluetooth tracker for £30 (or less 2nd hand), cover it in his leaves/raffia etc and covertly attach it to him (or his rifles) in the harbour area. Open the tile app on your phone and wa-la. Happy hunting intelligent airsoft. This games easy. If the smart option is not possible then work in sections of 8 ppl, once one of you has seen or been hit by a ghillie the remaining section Sprint (yes airsoft, I mean sprint) in zig zags in the general direction of the ghillie. In 5 seconds you'll all be well inside his MED for bolty so they'll be forced to use their pistol so you can calm the speed to a slower jog, still traversing. 1 pistol vs 7 full auto assault rifles. Countering airsoft snipers is a short sprint in the park if you can find the ppl to take the fight back to them.1 point -
I found more . Five more not in pics . And then there's the pistols ... And the Val is going up soon I think . It's either that or the AK .1 point

There's a reason the most expensive bit of kit I own outside of rifs are my pair of really nice Altberg tabbers boots. They've saved my ankles more times than could count at airsoft games, on hikes, at festivals and in snow. They're also the most comfortable footwear I've ever owned and being hand made with real leather and solid soles I wouldn't be surprised if they outlasted my legs.1 point -

What Have You Learned About Airsoft Recently?

This people getting over shot or moaning due to head shots because only their head is showing? Today i learned that i should just buy ammo on site if i am on public transport, more space for water/sports/salts drinks. Seriously i did 5lt yesterday in prep for today and still did 8lt water and 1lt (2x500ml) lucazade before leaving site. There were some today that were not hydrating as they should. Also learnt i really enjoy the cqb. Not the loose collection of structures some call a 'village' but the full on "small but perfectly formed" Red 1 Chiselhurst. So intense. I also reaffermmed i enjoy the look on peoples faces when tell them how much my toy gun cost after desicivally beating them in a firefight.1 point -

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to Madhouse for a topic
Had a good evening game on Thursday. Couple of guys were really good and as such most of us were back to regen a good few times before we finally got them. Had a go on a marshall’s TM Hi-Capa gold match - now there’s a nice pistol! Took my bro-in-law with me and he enjoyed it which was good, may just be able to get him along to a few more games. Forgot to take my watch off and it took a hit and broke (see what have I learned thread) - that was definitely the low point.1 point -
Let's just clear this up a tad because weirdly it needs it - as Dr said the (airsoft) GHK G5 is based on the (firearm) CZ Scorpion Evo 3 in terms of general look/style. The actual firearm has been around and known of for a very long time, long before it got popular in airsoft and video games. GHK probably just went off pictures when they designed the G5 with 556 style mags since, iirc, the G5 was around years before the ASG Scorpion Evo AEG. GHK were already making a fair few GBB 556-style/size mags at that time and obviously they hold more gas, which logistically would explain the design choice. As some old salts might know - The gun being almost all plastic made it cheap to manufacture and well performing in all weathers; when it came out in the earlier days of gas-in-mag GBBRs everyone raved about it as being better than all the WA and WE M4s that were the popular thing in GBBR world back then. The real CZ is relatively cheap, simple and reliable so with that modern look it's prime hollywood fodder. Also an ideal candidate for blank conversion since it's a straight blowback operated firearm with a non-locking breech/bolt, so double points there in the film industry's eyes. Since films now do often use airsoft paired with CGI however it's pretty likely you'll see both the G5 and CZ Evo on the screen in future and given the similar looks, fast cuts, long shots and motion blur I can see how the two would get mixed up.1 point

£300 for a WE M4? But it's got a PTS grip and trigger guard so that's ok. Looking back he was trying to sell it for £600 as a BCM build he'd built but never skirmished. Seems like someone just wanted the rail so he decided to split it all. Trouble is he's expecting to make back all the money he poured into it. https://forums.zeroin.co.uk/forum/classifieds/rifles-smg-s-for-sale/gas-gbb-rifles-smg-s/3232731-we-m4-cqb-unskirmished https://forums.zeroin.co.uk/forum/classifieds/rifles-smg-s-for-sale/gas-gbb-rifles-smg-s/3230670-we-bcm-mcmr-build-as-new1 point -

So if you've got a brand new gun that's never been chrono'd before, & you take it straight on the playing field, but later get chrono'd mid game only to find it's hot, your off site ffs, just because the site staff have a lazy shit eating attitude. Fuck that, sites that operate like that won't ever see my money, Airsoft's been around long enough that sites have no excuse for lazy or slapdash set-ups, especially when it comes to safety, ideally site organisers should be picking snippets from all the best run sites & incorporating them in to their own gamedays, best all round for all involved.1 point

50lb Two Tone Air Gun. Any Ideas?
Cannonfodder reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
That's a decent background, I used to do steel reenactment, and have made quite a few frocks. My point is that we often get people dropping by with huge and detailed plans about how they're going to play airsoft that never get beyond the planning stage. While dress-up is fun, playing in an almost literal bush-wookie suit is the last thing I'd do: you'd be sweating and steaming up enough wearing a mankini in summer, particularly on your first day. You'll probably be good if you've done any sort of combat sport and don't mind a very minor ouchie or two, but I'd again re-iterate that renting for at least one game is the cheapest and fastest option to find out if you'll actually enjoy it. The £10-£15 on top of the green fees and what you'd pay for BBs anyway is less than you'll lose on any two tone, and you'll be fairly competitive with a rental AEG, (as long as the barrel is clean and the hop is set correctly, and folk on site will be happy to help with those).1 point -

What guns are banned or over powered.
Fatboy40 reacted to Cr0-Magnon for a topic
This is not strictly true. You don't need to turn up to site with a two tone gun as no one is going to check your defence. It's on the person selling the RIF to you to check UKARA or other defence. Also power limits vary from site to site but are generally 350fps/1.14 joule for anything capable of full-auto. Providing it's a 6mm airsoft gun and within the sites stated limits, I'm not aware of anything which is actually banned. Maybe another forum member is though?1 point -

What Have You Learned About Airsoft Recently?
Rogerborg reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
it depends on the action. for aeg's and gbbr's they're pretty much pointless as the action noise is by far the largest element. for hpa's and nbb's where there's minimal action noise then they absolutely help with the "pop" you get from the barrel and can bring it down to a level of silence that if you're standing a few feet away the sound of the bb landing makes more noise than the gun does. for aeg's yes, however it's still largely pointless given the gearbox noise, piston slap etc. you can do quiet aeg builds (mostly by filling the gun with more foam than is good for it), but you have to really really not want to just carry a mk23 as a secondary for when silence is required.1 point -
There is a lot of difference in sound output with the suppressor on and without it on my mk23. I can use it in garden without neighbours slamming windows and hurriedly dragging children and pets in to safety lol Regards1 point

SSPKali reacted to Captain Darling for a topic
I own both, and can kind of agree with Kali. The undersize scale of the MP7 is also a downer for me, but it’s my go to for jumping in and out of windows at Anzio. Loud as hell as well for that intimidation factor (until they see the weenie gun). On balance I prefer the MWS, it’s easier to dial in the FPS on an npas, and a lot more real steel kit fits it. I also find mine is a bit more accurate than my MP7.1 point -

So today I found enough time to jump on the MTB and go for a quick lunch ride - advantages of WFH - and Mr Garmin tells me I burned 787 calories, I've a HRM and those boys knows their stuff so I'd say that's pretty reasonable for an hour's ride. That's 'paid' for a chunk of tonight's fish and chips that a friend bought round and the beer I had with it, so I'm still under the 1640cal goal that I've got set on MFP. Galaxy MP5k, love the clean classic lines of this little gem and needed something fun for evening cqb. Played a game with it stock however and it was fairly lackluster. Added a tracer unit, new ht motor and better lipo. Second game session with it last week and what a difference, great little piece of kit. The rear sling mount broke quickly so have drilled that out and replaced it with an old keyring. Also added a tritium vial to the front post, great idea nicked from a few pages back.1 point

Gun picture thread
Rollade reacted to SeniorSpaz87 for a topic
Worked on my buddies KWA SR-16 yesterday. Its an old gun, so it needed work internally and externally. Internally it got a Gate Titan, a new M100, and while I am yet to test its range I have both Prommy purples and Maple Leaf Macrons for it should it need a bucking. Gears, shimming, piston, cylinder, and barrel were done by me a few years back and look fine. Externally he wanted to go two tone, so new G&P rail covers (I prefer the dimpled ones but the blocked were half off so he wanted those), new PTS EPG, new sling mount, and I loaned him one of my good EOTECH replicas, real MBUS irons, PTS EPM1-S, and my two tone Rogers Super Stock for the photo. Before: After: Also my Bingo m249 “Sunfish” is externally complete with the new optic. A fully trademarked 1.5x-6x ELCAN SpecterDR in bronze, with a RS ELCAN 1.5x-6x killflash cause this thing was pricey and the last thing I want is to have it shot out. For those of you who dont know Sunfish was my first HPA gun, and is the first m249 Bingo Airsoft Designs did. For those of you who watch AirsoftAlfonse, his HPA 249 is also a Bingo though newer than mine. We run them together sometimes. I bought it non-working and fixed it up over time, having no idea what I was doing. She has the oldest Polarstar LMG Fusion Engine in the US and possibly the world according to Polarstar themselves. They dont even make the solenoids for it anymore - I have to write up Polarstar and get them to make me custom ones whenever one fails. She recently got upgraded to Gen 3 electronics, and I custom wired in Bullgear equipment to use Bullgear m249 mags, so no more weak feeding box mags. I need to give her another once over inside in preparation for the Fall MilSim season - she seems to be using too much air and the spread is less than ideal. Hopefully its just a bucking change, but who knows.1 point -
