Mosquito Beta Test (Pls Join)
leadly and 3 others reacted to AK47frizzle for a topic
Why hello there. Some of you may have known that I’ve been developing this thing for the past year. It has gone through one test phase, and now it is time for the second: the beta test of the MOSQUITO kit. So, what is this thing you may be wondering? Well, (doing a ctrl+c and ctrl+v of myself….): “Inspired by the PP-91 KEDR, the MOSQUITO is an ultra compact, lightweight, and modular kit for an AK AEG. A fully assembled kit weighs only around 1.4kg, and has a max length of 577mm with stock unfolded (341mm folded). Disassembly is made easy via stainless steel pins, and hop up can be adjusted on the fly. Want to experience a true small form factor with a big punch? This could be the thing for you.” Essentially, it is a 3D printed kit that takes parts from a traditional AK AEG and turns into a super lightweight, compact, and easy to use weapon. Actually, to be more accurate, it only takes the gearbox, hop unit, and barrel. You don’t even need any of the fiddly external parts on the gearbox because I have completely redesigned them. It also takes regular mp5 magazines which are plentiful. So, what I need now are testers who will provide good feedback on the kit as it is right now. I have plans to improve it even further before putting it up commercially, but I will need user feedback first to determine viability. I will list some requirements here: £60 to cover material, packaging, and delivery costs. This is to improve the quality of the test. Think of it as buying a cheapo GBB pistol from JBBG on an impulse You will be required to write a detailed report. Don’t worry as I have templates of that. It will be in the form of google docs and will only be shared between you and me. You will have to source your own AK internals if you don’t own any. I have made a huge list of these for your convenience in the beta test document. Don’t worry about screws and fittings, I will supply them all. This is mainly an AEG platform. However, if you are a V3 HPA user, that is definitely welcome too. You will also need a discord account as this test will be held over at a discord server where the rest of the beta test information is, alongside full documentation of the entire process since last year. There will only be a maximum of 15 testers because I don’t think I can manage much more on my own. If you want to be involved, message me and I will send you a link to the discord server. It is on a first come, first served basis. Thanks for reading and here’s a fun video:4 points -

Did you read the thread before necroposting? If you had then you'd know that the gun in question is semi auto only, as established 2 years ago. If you're going to use insults when calling someone out it's best to make sure you're right, otherwise you'll come across as the dick cheese4 points -

You can fecking scoff but I did have a guy turn up with a snapped cucumber stuck up his bum , he said and I quote “ he was a naturist who was picking tomatoes in his greenhouse with no clothes on , when he lost his balance fell back and sat on the cucumber” and after a bit of digging and pulling the Doc who removed said cucumber from said rectum thrusts it in to the air like King Arthur drawing Excalibur from the stone and exclaims in a very thick Aussie accent “oy mate how long you been growing your cucumbers it Tesco rappers !” 🤦♂️ Shortly after this the bloke and his ‘friend’ scuttled off . As they where passing through the waiting are the Doc sticks his head through the doors and shouts At the top of his Aussie voice “mate ! You left your cucumber behind !” 🤣🤣🤣2 points

Hi Joe. Welcome aboard the good ship airsoft. May your seas be calm and your shipmates calmer.👍 I'm a Viper groupie so I would deffo go with the viper multicam boots. Had them for years but that only equates to a few pairs cause they last a long time and that's with using them for work and games and the zips make them easy on and easy off bit like a ten bob whore. Lol Forget army boots. Heavy and sweaty. Carp fishing? Forget that! Once you start airsoft you will be selling all your bite alarms and rods 🙂 Have fun👍 Regards1 point -

Shamal reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
you're talking to a hamster, of course i hate badgers. lording it over us with their natural camo and extravagant burrows, you know how much a badger burrow costs? more than i make in a decade! i can kinda see the logic, although in this case the op's natural leaning seems to be towards the cyma anyway. i mean to me a generic ar variant is a generic ar variant, but then i don't tend to worry too much about the state of internals....1 point -

That's the Colt Model 607, not that many were made and it saw very limited action in Vietnam, it pre-dates the XM177E1 by a year or so. RetroBlackRifle is a good resource for the early AR-15 family of rifles: http://pullig.dyndns.org/retroblackrifle/ModGde/CrbGde/607.html1 point -

I recommend them. I've had them in "V cam Black" for a while now. They are pretty good all round pants, a lot of Crye features, (stretch fabric, enhanced cut and knee pads) but they take a few different design choices (rear pocket flaps and belt loops, no stretch fabric in the scrotal zone and no knee pad flaps if you want to run them without the knee pad inserts.) The fabric is poly cotton, so it isn't as hard wearing as some of the other Crye clones made from Nylon Cotton, but the fabric is tough enough. The stretch fabric is where I felt a bit cautious about them. It feels very thin and like it could tear. I haven't had any issues with it yet (I've wore them in game and as part of the rotation for my daily pantaloons, they've had a LOT of use.) They come with the knee pads, which some clones don't and the knee pads are on the higher end quality wise. The velcro that holds them in is solid and does the job well. I've been slowly putting together reviews of all the popular "Crye clones" from the cheap as chips (wish specials) all the way up to legit Cryes... (Yes, this means my wardrobe is full of Crye and Crye clone pantaloons. No I'm not sorry ) So here's a link to a longer, more in depth review of them.1 point

I don't really know a way around it when chrono'ing can already take far too long as is and, being rudely but entirely honest, I know personally I have way more knowledge of eye pro in general than ~80-90% of the people I've seen employed as marshalls at airsoft sites. It takes a real truck load of experience to be able to recognise what's real and up to the job and what might be a pretty good fake set of ESS/Revision etc. Because there's about 100k options out there for things that cover your eyes but can still be seen through. The thing that worries me and I'm sure many others, is that I go in to games in full seal goggles that will stop shotgun birdshot from pretty close, but so many people want to spend £7 on some 'cool looking' piece of TMC turd or a big jet pilot visor with a giant gap (or both) and then I'll feel guilty if I shoot the bb that causes someone to lose half their eyesight forever.1 point

@Tommikka You’ve got a excellent point. If I was a Marshall, there’s no way I’d let someone out of the safe zone if they had a lid like that on. Everywhere I’ve played, the marshalling teams have lived and breathed the game and they’ve seen every daft PPE solution so hopefully it’ll be dealt with before it can become a problem Fingers crossed that the “excited owners of these fine tactical helmets” get picked up on at chrono. There isn’t a way to get a message out to sites is there? Maybe give Negative Airsoft a nudge to mention it?1 point

I'm sure Airsoft world sell 2 official lengths of Action Army barrels for the AAP. One is the correct length and one is for running into their supressor, so I'd "assume" that that length would keep it under 350. I did a look! The above photo shows 200mm. Can't remember what mine chrono'd at the last time I used it. All I've changed in either of mine is the bucking.1 point
