I'm going to double post here... Very happy with the finished product, although the gas tube wobbles because the supplied roll pin appears to be sized incorrectly... I'll work on that4 points

I can't believe I am doing this... R6Siege loadout.
StayOnTarget reacted to SeniorSpaz87 for a topic
God help me, for what I am about to attempt is either going to be the most stupid thing I have ever done in airsoft, or one of the best... So almost everyone who plays both airsoft and Rainbow 6 Siege has had at least a fleeting thought about making a Siege kit for airsoft. And who better to impersonate than our lord and savior Tachanka. At least thats what I thought. But hey, that'd be a pretty difficult one to do, especially for someone in the US. Hence, it was only a fleeting thought and a wistful imagination... At least until a few days ago. So what would be needed to make a proper T'chanky-kang loadout - Well, uniform, helmet, vest, ppk (lets be honest - if you use the GSh-18 then go home), 9mm AK variant (not a fan of shotguns in airsoft), and finally, the piece de resistance - the DP-28 (I know its called the RP-46 in game, but that is incorrect. The 46 is a belt-fed modern(ish) variant of the 28 meant to cut down on weight). I actually know a guy in Florida who's done a pretty decent job making a Tachanka kit - the best ive ever seen actually used in airsoft. However, at the same time he hasnt done much work to his AK (I would like to be able to field it competitively), vest is wrong (should be a 6B23), and pouches are kinda random IMO. He still turns heads on fields which is great fun, but like all mates I want to one-up him so I plan to. Of course just a bit more detail, a better-upgraded AEG, and a PPK would be enough, but I plan to go one step better. I plan to make the DP-28. So how would this work... Well, originally I thought about 3D printing the body in parts, utilizing a p90 engine and hop, then 3D print a circular shell around a P90 mag for the mag (my work with Safariland reverse-engineering guns to make holsters and accessories means I believe I could do it). That was back in the dreamer stage. However, like most of the rest of the kit I realized I already had a partial solution. I have a G&P Stoner 63a, which is top fed. If I removed the feed tray cover and mag cradle I could make a fixture that attaches to the open space left by the feed tray cover. This would eliminate the trial and error of trying to make the DP body, as I would only have to focus around the feeding from the mag (which will be a challenge itself). Better yet my 63a is already upgraded by Bingo (if you dont know him hes made some of the best custom Polarstars, but quit several years ago. I own 3 of his guns. Therefore that would hugely cut down on costs. However I could still go with the make-your-own approach - let me know. The reason Ive gotten all excited about this is that, besides the challenge the DP proposes, I have a lot of the kit already. I have a full set of Chechen ATACs, which while not quite Alfa like he wears, it is one of his uniform skins and I think works better than Alfa, which still being very close in color. C-ATACs has the added bonus of possibly being accepted as a Tan uniform, which would allow me to run with my preferred side for MilSims, but thats not a huge concern. I have a 6B23 vest, I have a PPK, so All I would have to buy would be the AK, helmet, and p90 parts for the mag. One question I do have is wether to go with the slit-style Maska 1 shown here or the glass version, which would take away from the OG Chanka look but give me a better view. I have to wear eyepro under both either way as they arent full-seal. Thoughts? I will also report on the build as it happens here. Spaz1 point -

2 threads gap on the buffer tube is right. Regards to the bad lever... I don’t like the idea of them at all. In terms of the MWS, you’re adding weight to the bolt stop assembly. The ZET plate will have to lift that extra weight, which will effect bolt lock performance. Having bled profusely for hours after a Scar H bolt bit me, I don’t want any extra ‘help’ releasing the bolt when I don’t want it to.1 point -

hey man if you're embracing the meme enough to custom build a gun then go for it, airsoft needs more people prepared to run not an m4 let alone going for proper custom kit.1 point -

Excellent spot! And yes in a way. He was raised by wild dogs in Chernobyl, hense his stunted growth and facial features. Unfortunately he is only good for knawing at the enemies ankles, as you can see in the photo before, his loyalty is useless (bloody wild dogs). I have tried riding him many times but we won't get into that. He has never taken a hit in his life which really f***s everyone off. During early stages of training I named him Horse hoping it would help, but now we just call him Dog. We love him though.1 point -

A variation of my lumber-tac loadout. No chest rig or mags because arp drum. Also camo pants instead of plain colours (green or grey) because reasons. A quick list: Clothing: A-tacs FG pants H&M green/black checkered shirt Crispi Ranger Desert GTX boots Mechanix FastFit gloves in guccicam Condor ball cap with a bodged gopro mount, camera is a Hero 3 Silver Valken Sierra goggles (which for some reason didn't fog today despite the rain) OneTigris mesh mask Belt is my standard battle belt, basically double pistol mag pouch, WAS m4 mag pouch, dump, radio, utility. Backpack is a Condor Tidepool with a radio pouch attached. Didn't carry a bladder, used it to store a first aid kit and spare eyepro. Really liked it, allows for great mobility and low profile Gun, not pictured: ARP 9, still stock, just a t1, foregrip and battery extension unit.1 point -
I wouldn’t put limping donkeys BBS anywhere near my gun on the basis of he’s a dick. I’m gonna do some testing tomorrow with Geoff’s .43 and then try something heavier. @sonofsammo I’ll show you what I did to the nub when I get in 👍1 point

Yeah I don't get the haters - maybe due to only playing at one woodland site so far - you can see almost everyone easily at these ranges unless they are behind decent cover. Amazing how much mtp I see in winter. But not trying to knock that either, just would be cool to see more variety. I'm going to be sticking out like a sore thumb in this next...with drop leg mag pouches. Division ish.1 point -

Was scrounging around through some old pictures when I found this, me with my realtively unmodded MP5. I'll look for a pic of what it looks like now and will probably take one when I get home. And if you think I look bad in this pic, remember, it was raining like a sunuvabitch that day and I was in a different state. Found one, since the first photo I have added a scope mount and bought straight mags instead of the standard curved type. I'll have a more detailed photo when I get home.1 point -

I really like this setup I have here. (Enhanced) LBV-88 with a personal ALICE setup. A couple of notes, half the tape holding the surplus strap is original gp tape that the guy still had on it when giving it away. The buttpack is dated 69, so I reckon it has some value to it past my kit. Also although the best is slightly off-kilter to my belt, it's still incredibly comfortable when drawing from either my LBV or the belt setup.1 point -

MAP gas is made by syphoning the farts of Tokyo Marui’s lead GBBR designer on Christmas Day, after a whole month of eating nothing but sprouts and sushi. This explains its magical properties as well as that awful smell. @Davegolf better? 😂1 point

Had a couple of people asking me about this so I figured I’d so somewhat of a guide. Semi auto conversion: For those of you wanting to DMR your MWS, you’ll need to remove the option of full auto as it’s the general rule for most sites. It’s simple to do and this is how you do it.. Split the lower and push down the hammer until the seers click in place, like so: Turn your selector in between semi and full auto, like this: Push from the other side with your finger and twist/wiggle the selector as you’re pulling it from the switch side. It should pull free from the gun. From there you need to take a dremel (or file if you’re feeling energetic) and alter the selector ‘barrel’. Here is a standard ‘full auto’ selector and a modded one: the piece you grind off is is what makes contact with the full auto sear. With it gone, it can’t possibly go into full auto. Now that you’re done, you just have to reinstall. The only difference from taking it out is you need a screwdriver or anything thin to poke a plate and a detent out of the way. Videos if my instructions weren’t overly clear: removal: install: Hope this helps! Any questions, give me a shout.1 point -

2 orders in the past 4 weeks. Both turned up within a week!!! No import duty (UK doesn't really care about items from HK or China anyway. They don't have the man power to check them all). Can't remember what carrier they used tho, sorry. Johnny Yu is great. Always responds to email very quickly although his written English is pretty basic that being said it's a hell of a lot better than my Cantonese! Gonna see what they can do on an AEG soon.1 point
