First outing of my Full AMCU (Australian Multicam Camouflage Uniform) kit. Based on Task Force Taji Rotation 2 in 2016. AMCU Shirt and Trousers, Redback Terra Boots, FMA Wendy Helmet with AMCU cover, Manta Strobe and FMA NVG box, Warrior DCS in multicam (in place of the rare TBAS carrier) with TBAS pouches. TBAS belt with various SORD/TBAS pouches and Bladetech Holster Mechanix Gloves Gats, JG based AUG with various parts added to make it look more like an F88SA2 Browning mk3

Aaaand a few from the games themselves, it might not be as comfy to fling around as a more modern front end but ohh boy does that L119 do things to me 😍.

Last weekend's 9h night tournament was a blast! We were missing one member (so we were 5 instead of 6), nonetheless we went balls deep and did almost everything! The tournament itself was very interesting since in order to locate/complete some objectives we had to find information inside other objectives (namely Objective 4, its coordinates were found inside Objective 3, E1's coordinates were found in either E4 or E2 and the rest was distributed throughout the AO). Storyboard was that we had to help a sniper called "Silent Arrow" in eliminating a drug lord, by recovering information around the AO so we could tell him which person to kill. (map for reference with all the objectives marked) At the start (11:00 PM) our guns were taken away and transported to an unknown location (AEG on the map), we were then given a small cartographic exercise in order to find the coordinates, hiked from the HQ to AEG, collected our gear and proceeded to C2, then E4 and E2, since they were limited to a very short time frame (30 mins each, 01:00-01:30 E4, 01:30-02:00 E2), here we had to wait for a car to leave small boxes along the road (marked in green), those boxes contained very useful information regarding other objectives, mainly coordinates and items we needed. If one team was not able to recover those two packages within the given time limit, they would have had to hike back to the HQ and ask for them, with a point penalty of 500 points per package (which means being last, since 1000 points equal two combat type objectives). This is where we had our only engagement with a patrol which lasted a whopping 15 seconds, we got spotted because another team, who was sitting in the tree line next to us, ran away creating a lot of noise so the patrol got alerted. When we opened fire they melted, but still, 100 points lost -.- (another 200 if you lose the engagement) With those two packages retrieved, we headed back to the HQ so we could input the coordinates in our GPS devices and plot a sensible route. The main goal was to reach C1 as fast as possible because it was the objective with the strictest time frame (03:00-03:30), unfortunately we fucked up navigation and barely missed it, so we decided to do Obj.2, here we had to injure (by shooting him in semi auto in non vital parts, essentially arms and legs) a dude, extract him and blow up a building. Barely completed it, we messed the extraction part because we didn't have enough time. After that, we skipped WP4 and went to WP3, WP2, WP15, stumbled upon Obj.4 (had to insert a chip inside a laptop without being seen by the defenders), WP5, attacked Obj.3 where we had to blow up a laboratory, then moved counter clockwise through WP11, WP6, Objective 1 where we had to exfiltrate a case of radioactive material and take a picture of a scientist, after telling him apart from the rest (they all had images of chess pieces on them, it was relatively easy because he had a king), skipped WP7 because we didn't realize we were that close, went WP14, E7 and E1. At E1 we found the sniper, who was an archer IRL and he had setup a shooting range with four dummies at a good 35 metres, we gave him the correct name and he fucking pierced the dummy with an arrow from that distance. Kudos, that was a fucking good shot! (We were later informed that he was competing in the national archery championship, so yeah). On our way back to the HQ we went to C3 and then finished at 07:35 AM. Back at HQ we did a small debrief with the organizers and noticed that they had given us 5000 points in total, we thought we were like last, or second to last, since we had skipped a few waypoints, skipped C1, almost fucked up Obj.2 and we were the last team to finish.. Fast forward 20 minutes, results were out.. Last team (of 6) did 3250 points, then 3 more teams with less than 3500, hype started to build up and then, drum rolls, the 2nd team got 3850 points!!!! Well colour me impressed! Never thought we could have had such a large gap from the 2nd! Unfortunately I forgot to turn on track recording on my GPS, but my mate's said we hiked around 23 kilometres, in 8 and a half hours, not too bad! Kit wise, a last minute change I made was to bring the Mayflower instead of the TMR, and it was a really good choice, the thing is 100x more comfortable and lighter despite the overall larger signature and capacity. What let me down was the backpack, 3 hours in and it started digging into my shoulders despite having only two litres of water, one bag of BBs and one NVG monocular in its protective soft pouch, along with spare batteries and a tiny bit of food so I'm gonna have to look around for a replacement. And a stronger insect repellent, my arms are filled with bites it looks like i have a plague of some sort! Group picture before starting (mhm, tinted lens in pitch black conditions, fucking 1000000iq play )

Eh, maybe. The site won't want to admit liability and their insurer won't want to indemnify them, but in the event where someone gets rekt, courts like to make awards against the deepest pockets to ensure that the rekee isn't left hanging. For example, motor insurance that doesn't cover the type of use at the time, or even when vehicles are stolen and crashed, or are sold on without cancelling the policy. The underwriter is generally obliged to pay out, and can then come after the policyholder to try and recoup their losses if they made a fraudulent declaration or neglected to tell them something material. There's nothing to stop you naming the individual and the site in the suit though. Vowles vs Evans and the Welsh Rugby Union is the precedent that keeps coming back to mind, where an unpaid volunteer referee was held to have a duty of care to ensure players' safety (and had failed it). In that case, the WRU's insurers paid out. I'm generally agreeing with the point though. I'm there to get shot with low energy plastic BBs, and accept that there will be loud but not deafening bangs, and that I might catch a metal BFG in the shins. If I suffer a life changing injury due to a higher energy projectile, or an earball bursting explosion, I'm not just going to shrug it off and say "Well, who could possibly have foreseen that?"

The point that's being missed by some is that it isn't about what YOU are happy with as a personal risk level, but what the sites insurance will or won't cover. If the insurance says "nothing over MK5 due to risk of hearing damage" then you start lobbing TAGs about, if someone does get hearing damage it'll be YOU that gets the bill, not the site. Some of us will remember the strict "below the knee" rule for BFGs at The Mall. Lots of whingeing about how they should always stay on the same floor and never be sent down the stairs. Not everyone knew why though - it was because before those rules were enforced and it was up to people to be sensible, someone dropped a BFG over the balcony from the upper level and it hit someone in the head on the ground level. That ended up with the recipient being in hospital in a coma for two months and the person that dropped the grenade being sued for damages. These days, that's the sort of thing that will get a site shut down.

It's amazing what you used to get away with pre vcra. I remember going down to wolf armouries with a hard guitar case and buying whatever. Left the boxes in store and put them in the case as it was less obvious on the tube. Different times. Actually the ritual was walk in with my brother, try some stuff on the range, pop next door for an epic kebab and think. Then go back into wolf to purchase the one we chose. Good Times!

Depends on your local site, in my opinion. For me, DMRs are useless at Worthing, as 1.6J with a 30m MED just isn't worth it; even if you want to play marksman you're better off with a bolt action since 2.3J will get you significant range increases and the MED is the same at 30m (and it's incredibly thick with foliage 6 months of the year, making snipers useless too). Different sites tend to have different rules for DMRs and I've written basically a thesis on it in another thread on this forum somewhere since I used my m21 setup to experiment with different powers (HPA is useful like that), but TL:DR is this: 1.48J - totally useless. Stay at 1.1J for no MED. I saw no noticeable difference in effective range. 1.64J - mostly useless. Maybe consider if your local site is fairly open and your MED is only 20m. Even then I only really saw a difference of about 5m effective range over 1.1J. 1.88J - enough to be useful. Probably wouldn't consider with a 30m MED as I have a bolt action with a 30m MED at 2.3J and an effortless bolt pull so I can shoot it fairly fast (still might though) but would go for it with a 20m MED easy. Saw enough of a boost in effective range to make it worthwhile. As a result of Worthing's DMR rules being craptastic, I've long since been honing the idea of a 1.1J "semi-auto sniper" build myself; the goal was to get the most range, consistency and silence while having no MED by keeping to 1.1J. I managed around 65m effective range (at least 9/10 shots hitting a man-sized target) and I find it to be more than enough for most engagements, though Worthing is not a very sniper rifle friendly site even in winter (but it's way better than the woodland CQB of summer). I am a big advocate of the 1.1J DMR/Sniper build and think they're underestimated in the airsoft community for just how savage they can be. Plus people moaning "that's a bit close for a sniper/DMR" is always amusing. Now that I've rambled enough, I'll actually get to my recommendation. Pick up your DMR rifle of choice, whether it's a Cyma m14 (they're nice...), SR-25 or something else. Then don't touch the gearbox, leave it at 1J and pick up a new hop rubber (I like 70 degree maple leaf macarons for AEG style rubbers), hop up nub and if you've got the cash a new inner barrel. Then simply play like a DMR as @Tackle suggested and see if you like the play style and get a feel for how much an MED might inconvenience you; remain mindful of your shots and the distances you're typically shooting at and experiment. Maybe play a game where you shoot only at targets over 20/30m, depending on the DMR MED at your site, then play the next game with no such limitation and see which you prefer. However, I will refute his point that they're 100% compatible and say they're about 95% compatible. There are tiny tolerances that are different, though you'll only encounter them if you work extensively on it. For example, TM magazines will fit in a Cyma m14, but they're really, REALLY picky about how you put them in and if you don't put them in right they'll fall out, while Cyma magazines in a TM will need to be forced in a little. Also, a Cyma stock won't fit on a TM gearbox and upper receiver. How do I know? Because I have both a Cyma and TM m14 and have discovered these while working on them

I took the shell off of my snail to make it lighter and faster. If anything, it's now more sluggish.

I have put serious amount of work into my small, but perfectly formed collection. Love them!

Took the freshly pimped TM G19 Gen 4 out today, some indoor action at Invicta Black Site. Absolutely love how snappy the Gen 4 is even on lowest power gas, 45M flat trajectory on 0.25s, couldn’t ask for more from such a little gun!

This thread is unlocking long dormant parts of my brain.

Dmr to whether you'll get the most from the dmr role will depend on what the sites you play are like in terms of dmr rule sets (most of my locals dmr has to be dmr calibre, not long m4 etc) and the terrain. The way that some sites grow up in the summer; the loss of longer sight lines and the MED meant it is so much harder to be effective. In regards to the heavier bbs, it's a must; limited shots and controlled MED means rounds need to have a better chance of getting to and of being felt by the target, so a bb that will hold on to its energy better and be less effected by wind etc makes sense. Cost wise I dont find it too bad. Yes they dearer, but I'm using low and mid caps only, even running all my midcaps I'd still be carrying less rounds than a single high cap mag so 3000 geoffs last a couple of days at least. Before sinking a pile of funds into a dmr use an aeg as a dmr for a few days. By that i mean play in that dmr manner; only use single shot, give yourself a MED, force yourself to either not take the shot or transition to a sidearm. If you are comfortable after that then the extra range you can get with the dmr will just be a bonus. If you find it too frustrating then as your still effectivly an aeg, you flick the fun switch and charge back in. Personally I play dmr-esque anyway, having only recently returned to aegs from exclusive gbbr use. Low cap mags and semi only was easy but I've recently dropped a softer sping into the 308 to get back under the aeg limits and given myself a 3rnd burst. The reason being that with the sites I'm playing currently the range i have is more than enough with the rif well built and good ammo. I can help team mates more by being effective in the ranges the site has and I can still play my low cap, flanking style I like. Long post I know but hopefully it's relevant.

Cyma m14 socom, stock they're pretty much as good as TM's version, for half the price, maybe even less, but are 100% compatible, even for upgrade parts. Then take it out, set it to semi & use it for a few games to get in to the dmr mindset, I'll be very surprised if you don't love it, & then consider a couple of upgrades to get it close to 450fps, it won't take much to get it there, & at the same time set it to semi, I'd consider a programmable mosfet & remove the selector knob, just til you see how it is for lockups (my old one never did😁), if alls good then permanently mod the selector plate. Simples

Just zeroed both this evening. red dot, actually responds to turns of the screws with less sensitivity. The knock off moved with the slightest touch of the adjustment screw which meant you would get it zeroed and then when the lock screws were tightened it moved much brighter with a new battery, I’d guess almost twice as bright to my eyes than the knock off my red dot is the click adjust and I prefer it to the rheostat type on the knock off and my cheap version doesn’t actually fully turn off the glass is better/ clearer the scope is much clearer glass than the 1-8 vortex it replaced which is a bonus as I actually changed it because of the reticle plus the quick adjust locking caps are handy. better light gathering plus it’s a true 1x

I haven't been to a gig for donkey's years, in fact I think the last one I went to was Lynyrd Skynyrd at London Apollo. This is partly because most of the bands I listen to are either dead or at least drawing a pension, but also because I don't like crowds.

Good and £150 do not go together especially when it comes to the Airsoft L85's. Many will tell you that there are no really good L85's as they all have quirks. For your budget you might get lucky and get a second hand Army Armament one. Which has many many problems, a difficult takedown, proprietary parts and needs looking at out of the box. The ICS is Ok (£340+), but suffers from very weak cutoff levers, semi issues and anaemic out of box performance. The Ares is pretty poor, a really difficult takedown. People generally don't recommend it. (£350+) The G&G with ETU is.. ok. (£400+) though the ETU is quite bad and needs switching out to a PERUN. The blowback feature is very weak in effect and reliability. Either way, if you want "Good (But not good)" in an L85 you need to spend 350+ as well as additional money for some upgrades and quality of life service.

Yeah I seen that the pin itself is loose, there is a bit of movement in it, they still haven't responded to my emails so see what happens as they do state if there's any problems they'll sort it, just wanted to get a bit of knowledge from people who know like yourself and the others which is greatly appreciated, before their customer service says its not their fault which I hope won't happen.

Not necessarily. If you wan it for looks then yes, if you just want a longer free float handguard then....maybe. 100%... i think the orangutan build becomes a bit of a requirement, but sometimes needs must and its the nicest way to wear it with webbing... I completely copied one of the pathfinder guys, so can claim no credit for that. but since webbing only comes out when my local turns into a jungle I live with it.

@2RIR this is definitely worth a try BUT be very careful taking the pin out that holds the end of the arm. The plastic wings on the hop unit that the pin goes through are VERY easy to snap.

That's why I've not yet DMRd my M14s. Plenty of range, no MED and still got full auto for when I want it.

I am not sure if this is common across sites in general but, at the woodland ones where I play, there has been a significant reduction in the number of DMRs. I am not sure why this is but, on talking to a few players who have stopped using a DMR, a common factor seems to be that, given the limited lines of sight at woodland sites, there is little or no advantage to running a DMR against well tuned weapons running 0.30g+ BBs at 1.05J with, for example, a Maple Leaf Macaron rubber and Omega nub with no MED and full auto.

Used to see Lady Winwoods Maggot on a regular basis when I was a barman at the George in Christchurch. I spent nearly every Friday night in the function room working the live music events. They were one of the bands that caused enough noise complaints from the neighbours that the pub was forced to fit a volume limiter by the council. If the band was too loud for more than 10 seconds, their power switched off. Went down well with the bands and regulars alike….not. Good times.

in that case going back to my response (with davegolf's caveat of maybe it's been done intentionally to compensate for the patch, but that's still poor workmanship) then that block being wonky is gonna give you uneven pressure and spinning rounds off at a weird angle. you could try swapping it out for a stock arm with omega nub, see if that helps.

i would suggest getting a KC-02 and upgrading with Rogueworx parts, you'll have a DMR that will easily perform as well as a tuned BASR

I'll echo the 1J bolty vibe. I love shooting a no MED 'sniper.' As for general play, it does depend on the site. At Gunman Tuddenham I'll use the 1J bolty, as it is a small site. For a larger site, I'll use the M14 DMR as I have space to pull back. I NEVER take position without knowing where I'll go to next though. I have never used my sidearm in years of playing. Usually it gets left in the kit bag. Playing DMR well takes a more measured playing style. TBH I usually play support gunner with about two milsims per year with a DMR (on large sites), so listen to Impulse and Concretesnail rather than me for experience. I do what I do though, and an accurate 1J is a fun option. A semi locked CYMA M14 works for me too. It's worth a go I'd say. Remember that repeatable accuracy is king though. All the power in the world is no good if it's in the wrong place.

Defo what Tackle said! The trigger contacts are not perfect on them, so a 'fet makes perfect sense.

When an airsoft version appears, I will have one, even if it costs more than the real thing. Hi-Points are literally bulletproof.

Have a half barrel one at my brothers house that is great for smoking too with its little chimney. Love a good bbq I do. Silicone mats are great for not tearing stuff like fish, chicken and Sausages... That's my top tip for the weekend anyway.

The full NGRS line up, the L119 needs some firming up and a once over internally but externally happy. Super pleased with the longer modern upper, nice to have an AR setup where an LPVO doesn’t look out of place.

I'd say my MWS is mostly complete. I've added a M300 knockoff since this but can't be bothered to whip out the dove soap box I used to elevate the gun for the picture to retake it 🤣 G43 magnifier is also on the way. Edit: Also tried a UH1 + 3x & RK-1 grip.
