Yes lad! How did he get on? My lad is a recent convert (he's 12) and has the bug big time now. We went out last weekend and he was a monster. Must say I enjoy having him alongside me and hearing him shouting out to other players "Mate, your 2 o'clock moving right to left!" is hilarious. No idea where he gets it from!3 points -

TM mags are annoyingly proprietary so £25 for each mag (x9) - £175 Tracer - between £40-£140, depending on brand or whatever Let's just say top end, cause TM recoil, can't cheap out now after all that, can you? Chest rig? - can get a decent one for ~£50, but some can run £100+ HOWEVER!! That one has a DEVGRU patch. Gotta make sure everyone knows So that EAAASILY makes up the rest [Realistically, he should be looking at the £1200 - 1500 range. That's generally what upgraded TM recoils go for. But upgrades don't mean shit, most of that is labour charge] Deffo another case of "Oh shit, I paid WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much for a toy pew pew pretend gun, totally means I can get all that back WITH PROFIT right?"2 points -

Yes. Same offence, same defence. One subtlety is that a defence (against prosecution) isn't the same as a license (to actually permit it). Border Force have historically treated a defence as a licence (that's the language from one of their own internal documents that came to light a few years back), but at any point, they could change their minds say "OK, we're not sending the rozzers round, but neither are we going to allow imports. At all." Enjoy whatever we can, while we can, is how I see it.2 points

I'M BACK BITCHES! After over three months out, due to illness, music festivals and other life stuff, I returned to the battlefield today at Red Alert. Got to meet @Lozartwho seems a thoroughly nice bloke, surprisingly 😉 Got my Secutor Rapax DMR back from the local tech and ran that all day. He has performed witchcraft. In the first game of the day I got more kills with that DMR than I usually do in a whole game day. That's right, I can shoot straight now! Got several tag round kills and 3 pistol kills. All in all a fantastic return. I've missed it! Also; OUCHIE2 points -

Will be a very stiff type of foam, but if you get some generic stuff online and cut it just a hair on the large side for the PC, then once you squash them in there you'll have more than enough rigidity for airsoft but it's flexible enough that it bends if you really need it to.1 point

While I cannot comment on the legality of any of it (though I'm confident in them as a long-standing and fairly well-known site, rather than some obscure pop-up run by people you've never heard of), I will say from having played there that the structures were all of solid construction, all seemed well secured (nothing bent, lent, or came apart despite people colliding into them rushing for cover), and Marshals were dotted around all the active areas for each game type. At no point was I milling about inside the castle without a Marshal wandering about the structure. With regards to warnings about unsafe buildings etc, it doesn't apply to this site, but another site I've been to has a particular structure within one of the game zones that is out of bounds and players are told during the game brief where it is, what it is, and not to make use of it, because of structural integrity concerns. Area 66 didn't have any of this, but had when I was there fenced off part of the woodland due to it having become a bog, and we were in fairness given a location, description, and warning that it was not to be entered. If any of A66's buildings ever entered such a state I therefore assume they'd do likewise.1 point

Some 1-1.25" foam from ebay, cut to the shape of the plate bags, done, works great. Off the top of my head the -S is SAPI small and I think PTS do Smalls in their foam plates if you want a pre-made solution, or generally anything foam or hollow plastic that's a small - though I'd stick to foam as sometimes if a plate of any solid material is a little too tall you can have exposed hook velcro on the inside that'll eat your shirts (though I don't own an LBX PC, but that's common).1 point

Hey guys show me your mad boneyard scrap heap challenge guns you made from broken crap! It’s honestly my favourite kind of airsoft build no matter what it is. Here are my two best examples. An Ak74su that I think started as a broken cyma with no gearbox or stock. Then got a stock off eBay one day. A very gucci v3 gearbox off here. A perun mosfet. Short strokes gears. Shs motor some other second hand bits. And my speedy boi gi capa made from like. Three different eBay lots and some upgrades etc with allll that stuff on it it’s cost me maybe £170 in total. Let me see what abominable things you guys made1 point -

Only played half the day this weekend as I am still troubleshooting my KJ m700 on higher power, though I ran it in the morning on 1J as it seems to be really good there (it sends .48s to the moon with minimal hop applied on higher power). Honestly, was a bit of a frustrating one. I was really looking forward to getting out and playing this weekend, but it was a super busy day and they ran a rolling assault game where we weren't allowed to flank. Forcing a 40 vs 40 rolling assault into a narrow corridor just becomes a meat grinder and that's exactly what happened. Wasn't even close, we got slaughtered. However, this wasn't my main point of frustration. The worst part was that I managed to low crawl and sneak into flanking positions within the narrow field of play 3 times and every time I got shot in the back just as I was getting ready to shoot the enemy team in the side or back. I spent the whole game, which was pretty much the whole morning as we only did a warm up game beforehand, crawling incredibly slowly past the enemy line of sight while my friend drew their attention away from my movement and using site knowledge to get around what was otherwise a pretty impenetrable enemy defensive line only to get shot in the back by my own team every single time. Yes I was in a ghillie and expect a bit of friendly fire, but not every single time especially when my armband was around my unghillie'd wrist on the side they were shooting me from so it was clearly visible. Pretty sure two of the three times were the same rental players too. At least the first game was successful. Me and my friend set up to deny flankers on the three base domination warm up game and we denied the flank for the entire game from concealed positions. I did, however, remember why I don't like the mk23 as a sniper sidearm though with that awful squishy trigger making follow up shots hard to make accurately. Back to blowbacks next time! Also disappointing because my m700 is still overhopping .48s on 2J. I found that the middle intake valve + green gas is 2.1 - 2.2J at this time of year, so I know the power setup, but the hop still eludes me. Going to stick a 50 degree in as the 85 and 70 degree ones didn'ty work, but if it keeps doing this I might just make it my 1J bolt action of choice and do a slightly different build with my other m700 for a 2J build. Next week is AI500 and going with zero expectations. I'm no door-kicking CQB speedyboi (my CQB experience consists of urban sniping), so I'll be finding all the long areas and just playing there1 point -
Border Force Impounded RIF...

A couple of things: The orange tip mentioned by the OP is irrelevant, that comes under US requirements for toys. In the UK it’s either a RIF or it’s an IF. An orange tip is less than 50% so it’s a RIF it’s a superfluous orange tip The VCrA covers sale (both retail and private, manufacture, modify (which includes painting, changing parts etc) and import The acts ‘defences’ indirectly includes ‘Airsoft skirmishing’ …… (by statutory instrument which supplements the actual legislation) UKARA is the main scheme recognised to justify the ‘skirmisher defence’ When it’s a sale the decision is made by the seller, and they make the assumption that their records will be good enough if a case comes back to a sale that they made When it’s an import it’s down to customs and/or the importing carrier. Any package could be handled purely by an approved carrier, they may either refer to customs, or customs may pick out packages (or full container loads) themselves Importing has many risks, it could sail through, it could get caught up in red tape, it could be flagged and challenged, it could be refused (and returned, seized, destroyed etc) You can challenge In the end for this case there was ‘just’ a delay1 point -
I'm confused about how he got to that figure. Rif: £600 E6 upgrades: £900 if you tick every option including ones not mentioned on the ad. Vortex: £250 + £300 So £800 for a tracer, mags and unknown brand PC...1 point

You really want to move to country primarily to own guns? I thought about moving to USA awhile back because of the money i could earn in my profession and had fallen in love with the side of America I had seen( I am a geek and regular travel to Atlanta for Dragon con basically geek mardi gras). Any way the more I looked into the more I saw the UK is shit the USA is shitter (it ani't getting any better). I have made friends over there most are professional all of them have been laid off multiple times with little warning and no restitution whats so ever in the time i have known them. An English friend who married a local has been there 8 years has had 8 jobs and only got his green card last year (he can still be chucked out the country for any reason). What ever state it's you'll miss the NHS, first year we went a friend had a drunken fall, went to get checked out at the hospital. A sprained ankle cost him 5k up front that he had to claim back on his travel insurance. " love shooting and I'm an advocate of responsible gun ownership for sport shooting, hunting, pest control and self-defense. Guns were all-but outlawed here and we're still murdering each other in the streets, just now we do it with handheld sharp objects instead." 5 times more people were murdered with knives in the USA in 2020 than in the UK. I really don't want to live in a country that i need to be armed to feel safe. The Whole self defence thing is a red herring you are more likely to be rob/burgled for your guns and much more like to kill a family member/friend, yourself than a "Bad guy". Restricting gun ownership works. Ever country with gun control laws has significantly less murders even by proportional population. The USA needs to get over the second amendment as the out dated deliberately woefully misinterpreted legislation it is( it also needs get universal health care, reform education and Employee rights). I know I'll be in the minority in this group with my stance. I would never want Americas gun culture in UK. I don't think guns should be banned but they should be heavily regulated.1 point -

While normally you would be correct. However currently wgc shop only have the King arms GP-30 for pre-order https://www.wgcshop.com/products/king-arms-gp-30-grenade-launcher-for-ak-series So seeing as wgc don't have it for sale at the moment and with no definite date of restock and combined with my preliminary search to see the current going rate of these gp-30 and with many place showing out of stock. I believed the higher price was justified, due to the condition it in, and it already being here in the UK so no international postage fees or possibilities of import and custom payments, which you have to pay if ordering from wgc or any other shop for that matter outside of the UK. Combined with the fact that currently no UK shops have the KA gp-30 in stock. I believe I am reasonable in my asking pricing, I am of course open to pricing suggestion and negation. In the end the market will decided and I will adjust prices accordingly. That one of the good things about this forum, we can have civil discourse (for the most part).1 point

Another thing to check, if all else above fails. Is that the piston doesn’t bind. This will lower your fps dramatically and cause your gun to struggle cycling. With the 13:1 gearset and motor you have used. It does sound a little sluggish. In comparison this is a set of 13:1 gears and a 22tpa motor with a perun mosfet on a 7.4 lipo. ✌🏻✌🏻 Hope you get it sorted buddy. IMG_2516.MOV IMG_2516.MOV1 point -

This is mine and my dad's speciality. The M4 pistol is a dsg build literally built out of spare parts and yet is somehow the most reliable out of all our guns despite shooting 50rps The AK bullpup is made from a boneyard SRC rpk, some bent aluminium and some cut up rails. The SCAR H is still unfinished but that was a VFC that I picked up second hand with a locked up gearbox. The L96 is a former two tone well that has had a mancraft kit installed1 point -
Same with mine, even with a metal kit it will finish a mag.1 point

Camman seems alright, at least he's never done anything egregious on camera. I think it's more a symptom of the airsoft-youtubersphere. KM is one of the most watched channels so it makes business sense to be on freindly terms with him. Same reason every youtuber has a video on a new novritsch gun when it comes out. Also if that 4 page rant is the one from zero in forums, that poster is as unhinged as KM.1 point -

I'd be more surprised if a thread did stay on topic Sorry, byt the Tiger has to be the most overrated tanks of ww2. Yes it was well armed and had decent armour, but the Maybach engine was underpowered, unreliable and over engineered. This meant it was slow and drank fuel like it was going out of fashion. All this meant that the tanks at the front were reliant on long complicated supply train where advances were limited due to fuel issues and tanks needing repairs to be taken all the way back to Germany. Also there's the sheer weight of the vehicle. At 50 tonnes many bridges were simply unable to hold that weight. Another problem with the Tiger is the production cost. A single Tiger cost the same as 2 panzer 4s or 4 Stug 3s1 point -

It's why I gave up historic re-enactment. The groups I was in were always trending towards "professionalism", i.e. committing to providing clients with more numbers, bigger living history displays, and showier arena performances. It got to the point where we were prepping and loading vans days before big events, and staying on after weekends to tear down, as the chap running each group tried to turn it into a career. Me, I just wanted to eat hog roasts and swing swords. Airsoft needs more hog roasts!1 point

I'd never criticise anyone for taking safety seriously, to be fair even if it means you don't turn up on Monday morning for your "respectable" job with your chops covered in red marks & welts, then it's done its job. But changing fps limits for more "hardcore" games is ridiculous, it's hard enough to enforce what we've got so giving players carte blanche to increase fps could get out of hand. Anyway, whys it even being discussed, to do so would break the laws of the land, so it's obviously never gonna be an option, shit like this only gets more draconian, not relaxed ffs.1 point -

This is why people are liking the post, because it rings true. There is literally no need for lower face in airsoft at current power levels, this sport IS safe, if everyone follows the rules, which KM doesn't, hence people disliking him.
