  4. Sorry to hear what's happened. Sens all relivant info straight to the PSNI, I don't know if they will be able to do anything but if you never know. Hope it works out for you. I wonder if it hurt when his missus fell from heaven, because it looks like her face took the brunt of the impact

  5. *in a David Attenborough voice* Here we see the species known as the thotsofter. They can be distinguished from the regular airsofter by the excessive make up, perfectly styled hair and lack of dirt on her from never actually leaving the comforts of the safezone where they feed on the thirst of the younglings who are yet to discover pornhub. Once she's sufficiently fed she then retreats to home to post pictures on social media to gain more attention"

  6. Looks like Patrolbase is taking a leaf from Dave at DCA's book on how to con *ahem* make money out of Airsofters... £1.4K for this: A suped-up Krytac. Doesn't even have the TM appeal. You could build/buy a very nice HPA setup for waaay less money. Then there's this - £1.2K for a Hi-Capa: I would expect either gun to be able a gnat's bollock at 100 paces for that kind of money.

  7. Are they worth it? It depends but I'd say for most people no. Any new player and I'd encourage you don't. You're not new though! They can and do get sweaty, even if they have vents, they can increase fogging (more moisture = more fogging) and if you don't have the right size then they can cause headaches too. I generally wear a thin headband and replace it periodically with spares that I have in my pocket, as the next one gets wet the old ones dries in my pocket etc. They can also stick out in woodland environments. However if you want the protection and the look etc then this could be a price worth paying. There are loads of different styles and the quality varies massively. It is often you get what you pay for. Most Airsoft ones are clones of opscore. Whether that's the carbon, fast or the maritime. The height of the "cut" can vary for these, if you run sordins or peltors then I'd recommend a high or super high cut (these can be attached to the helmet) You can get clones of the mtek flux, revision caiman and mich 2000 styles as well. Then there are ex army ones....wouldn't recommend the older ones but apparently the virtus is good, not sure if you can legally get them though yet. Some people run protec/skate helmets - very black hawk down delta look What can vary? The thickness of the shell, the size of the shell, whether they have rails and how it attaches and fits to your head, the quality of the pads and the quality of any NV mounts. I'd recommend seeing any your friends have and trying any you see around your local site (at the start of the day #sweatmess) If you've got an average size head, up to around 59 cm then most Airsoft helmets will work, above that look at the pts mtek flux or a l/XL ops core fast bump but here you're talking £100 plus and the opscore will be more. I've had Emerson, FMA, red dragon and the pts mtek flux (about to list, just got an opscore carbon). Realistically if you actually use it, the pads and retention system fail on Airsoft helmets. The pts mtek flux is by far the highest quality and most comfortable Airsoft helmet I have ever had. It also has the best longevity, but it's for people with larger heads 59+ One thing I do really like about the mtek flux is the cut at the back, it's more curved up and makes looking up (or ahead when prone) easier than standard opscore with a dial types. Depending on what else you use it for, you can obviously run night vision off it, go pro cameras, lights and camo covers etc they can look pretty Gucci. Regarding eyepro and face protection, I've never had an issue with it affecting eye pro, face protection I actually find it easier with the helmet, generally (especially helmets with a rail) you can attach the face protection to the helmet, so it's more comfortable, you could look at using a ops core mandible (clones available). I also find rain can be an issue compared with a baseball cap. It does seem like wearing helmets is becoming cool again.....guess we'll see how long that lasts.

  8. Hey guys, so I am doing some market research for Feyachi. Disclaimer this is for a small reward. So that being said. Feyachi would like to know if custom laser engraving on their optics range is something that would interest customers upon buying an optic from them. They want some direct input from us airsofters on the front line so to speak and value our input. This could be anything from having your call sign engraved, maybe your favourite action movie quote, your youtube name, your team name or anything else you can think of. I imagine it may not appeal to some who are going for the more Milsim style replica builds, but might well appeal to people who like the more casual side of customising and building RIFs or youtubers and speedsofters etc... Let's go for a poll style response using the 'like' feature. Yes please! That sounds awesome = like (heart) No! My Gnu wouldn't look genuine if I did!! = sad face Thanks for your time and feel free to add anything to the discussion.

  9. I have two of these that I do skirmish and I love them for the look and the cool factor. Why do I have two, simply because even as a backup sidearm I wont trust one to last a whole game day........ I also have a stock of Part #30 (I order them 10 at a time and will order another 10 when I get down to 5 left) as I basically regard them as a service item like 'o' rings, its not a case of if it will go bad just a matter of when. Also the hop-up is terrible, it works ok, but is awful to set and doesn't hold adjustment well and is reliant on a non-standard little rubber 'patch' and a minute brass grub screw that loves to work its way out and get lost. Again I hold a small stock of these so I can skirmish the pistol. In short if you are really committed to them they can be skirmished and perform ok, but a WE Glock cost less, shoots better and is far more reliable and uses a readily available hop rubber when it does need maintenance. P.S. Just to add this isn't my main skirmish pistol, but on the rare occasion I break out the MP5 and black overalls it would be rude not to...

  10. Thank them for making nice optics at great prices, but I wouldn't be interested in engraving an essentially disposable item. But then I don't think I'd be interested in engraving my gun either, even though I like messing around with my rattle cans for a personalised look.

  11. It's a no from me. I think people either want an optic (or certain type of optic) that is as cheap as possible so it's then the easiest/cheapest one that fits their requirements. If so custom engraving isn't going to make it cheaper or easier to get. Or They want the best value optic they can get for their money, whether thats an airsoft optic in a certain style up to a £500 aimpoint. I don't think many people pay for the vortex optic price brand to get a airsoft clone with some engraving. My main point here is I think it's a gimmick that only a few people would be interested in and if they want it enough they can get companies that do laser engraving to do it for them (such as land warrior) on their choice of optic.

  13. As has been mentioned, it's not your fault arseholes like this exist. On a lighter note: "Airsoft is a game or sport where those taking part eliminate their opponents by hitting them with non-metallic pallets" Just using one wrong letter turns that sentence in to quite the humorous image!

  14. This is my point. What matters is what happens on site, on the day. Both in terms of what players do, and what marshals and site owners do in immediate response. I'm sticking with my view that time served, good-at-the-job door security make the best site staff. It's much the same skillset: being friendly and welcoming while spotting potential problems, sounding them out and heading them off early, and ultimately being prepared to say "End of discussion, leave now" and mean it. Back your local bouncers.

  16. Whilst majorly attempting to avoid specifics, as discussed with a site owner once …… They had a booking from a particular group of stereotypes, and dreaded the level of management & marshalling needed whilst considering excuses to reject the booking without ramifications But on the day it was one of the best groups they have had - purely a group of people who wanted to enjoy a day out shooting each other along with fat wallets

  17. Sadly, I'm not, at all. I'd hope they were, but I doubt it. And I'd expect half of them to be back on the next game day, pretending ignorance, saying "No patch, no problem", or just not giving a toss. I'd like to be wrong about that, but the players who aren't a problem don't need told how to behave, and the players who are don't listen or care - that's why they're a problem. It's not the patches, it's the players. Airsoft sites don't need so many rules, and they don't need so much being said. Actually punt the dickish 5-10% off site, on the day, and all the problems are gone. I say this in the full knowledge that it's far easier said than done, and it's something I've got no interest in putting into action. But that doesn't make it any less true.

  18. Oh what the actual fuck? People did that? I'm surprised they didn't just get kicked straight off the field. His response seems pretty measured though and I'm glad they didn't go so far as to outright ban Russian kit because that's a slippery slope. Then you have the question of what Russian style kit is and isn't ok and if you draw a line people are going to want to find out exactly where it is.

  25. As above, the valve knocker is prone to breaking, I do plan to see about getting some steel ones cut when I can get to a local engineering place. They are very cool, mine has full British army trades, and can be skirmished but the knocker will fail at some point. Get one !

  30. He's utterly amoral, and he's realised that the airsoft community is very trusting, and ripe for exploitation. He even scammed money off the back of Help For Heroes. This resulted in a criminal conviction, which you might want to mention to PSNI. http://www.thedownrecorder.co.uk/pages/?title=Man_stole_charity_donations

  32. Actually, £1250 for the hicapa is about right. approx £1000 worth of parts individually plus assembly and tuning plus custom cerakoting. Most skirmishers won’t benefit From the outlay but if you are a speedsofter and only use it as your primary especially on hpa or a competition shooter the increased longevity of parts and reliability makes it a little easier to swallow the price. plus given that a decent tuned hicapa shoots as well as any tuned aeg then I’d personally rather put the money into the fully cnc airsoft masterpieces hicapa than an internal tuned but still a pot metal krytac

  33. Thats true mate, its the fact hes been around scamming for years now. Its not the fact that hes taken my kit, its that he did it so easily and he doesnt give a toss about it. The times ive swapped, bought or sold items on forums ive never had a single issue as we are here for the same reason and for the same hobbies and interests. Hes just a wanker mate. He also told me this morning prior to me contacting the police that 'with me getting my stuff back, the police cant do anything' thats his words.

  34. Genuinely expected them to be about £400-500 give or take after reading what they had to say about it being custom made...but 1400 quid for what is essentially the Krytac REC7 upper/lower/handguard set and a bunch of overly expensive PTS/Magpul shite on it. And while custom hi-capas can easily go for that price it's a total piss take for them to actually make something like that, the type of person to spend that much money on a custom built pistol is going to want something exactly the way they want it. Not £1200 worth of random CNC'd shite.

  39. Sorry to hear this. Swaps are particularly pernicious as there's no money to be claimed back, although to take it any further you'll need to put a value on what he's stolen from you. https://www.psni.police.uk/crime/fraud/Reporting-Fraud/ to get a crime reference number. https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/recover-debts-owed-you leading to https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/small-claims-process after a letter before action. Or you may be able to claim via https://www.gov.uk/make-court-claim-for-money The very best of luck with it.

  40. Up to a point, and most of us play pretend soldiers to leave real life behind for a bit. Ideally we'd bring nothing to the site except BBs and a magical belief about the accuracy of our toys. However, that's not always possible for all people at all times, i.e. if you have family in an active war zone. I have no idea if that applies to anyone at my local sites, but I wouldn't particularly want to find out by making a point of saying "Offence is taken, not given".

  41. Higher magnification just shows how un-laserlike ( nice made up word) your pew is. Best to just use a red dot and sustain the generally accepted in airsoft illusion that your rif has 80 m of perfect straight line trajectory and people are all cheeeeettaaaahs who don’t call hits.

  42. I was thinking more that letting that green wear in, get scuffed up etc to show black underneath would look quite good, if the 2-tone wasnt showing. Motor springs can work sometimes (assuming that's long enough) and smaller diameter than a mainspring. The carboning can happen surprisingly quickly, remember working on an ak that looked immaculate save for the carboned contacts. Can be hard to track down, tbh if it were me i'd be re-wiring it, but then if it were me that'd happen for a mosfet regardless of the state of functionality of the original setup.
