  5. It may be true that high grade polymer bodies can be superior to the lowest quality 'metal' ones but I still prefer the weight and feel of cold steel pot metal 😄
    2 points
  6. Don't think metal body=better. The better plastic guns can still handle rough treatment of a game and cheap pot metal easily breaks. Also the weight difference can really make a difference towards the end of the day

  7. Er, how? I can't see that they have any UK presence, or any address that you could use for service. And thanks for the warning, but their site is quite obviously written in third best Chinglish, lacks any contact or (actual) company information, and they're quite open that they're shipping from China. You took a gamble and lost, it happens. Just instruct your payment processor to do a chargeback because it's non-functional, and get on with your life.

  8. And a really bad way to find out is while running, or standing at the top of a staircase. Nope, and nope. This is where the Equality Act 2010 kicks in. It's not up to people with disabilities to avoid sites. Sites needs to make reasonable adjustments in order to ensure that they can provide their service to people with illnesses or disabilities. What's "reasonable" is highly subjective, but this one is a no brainer. There's no particular reason to use strobes (as opposed to steady lights), and nobody is going to be disadvantaged by disallowing them. You are absolutely right to ask them to prohibit them so that you can play there. How it went at the Depot is that they used to ask if anyone had photo sensitive epilepsy, and allowed or disallowed strobes for that day depending on the answer. However, they then switched to a straight blanket ban because people either might not know, or might hesitate to speak up because the selfish chuckleheads with strobes used to boo whenever anyone did. Any CQB site that's given it a moment's thought will come to the same conclusion.

  9. I do think the new BTP camo works better now we're in the autumn, even the desert version would do a better job blending in with the golden leaves that are all over the ground and the low trees. Dark stuff was less effective and sticking out a bit more than usual yesterday... In the morning I was wearing a black camo UBACS style undershirt, and I wished I'd bought the multi-cam version instead. I definitely don't need stuff slowing me down. That would = stopped A massive shout-out to this chap, who did the WW2 load out properly... He even lit up a pipe during the rest/reload breaks for the full effect Tally-ho!

  15. have you tried finding trigger contacts for a g&g f2000
    1 point
  16. Well, you don't need a mosfet in any AEG. Even if you're running 11.1V and concerned about arcing, the cheapest mosfet will run you more than two new sets of trigger contacts. The X-ASR in my Specna is coming out, it's only causing me trouble with aftermarket motors.

  17. It's disclosed during checkout. Agreed, it's deliberately deceptive, especially the shipping estimates. However, because they've given them, I'd have (literally) no hesitation in firing in with a PayPal dispute 10 microseconds after their estimate had expired, or if I didn't receive exactly what I'd ordered. Although at this point I'm just going straight to AliExpress because they have their own dispute / chargeback system that seems weighted towards buyers (at the moment).

  19. Nice. I usually use my various selection of drop down pouches for pyro but the size and lack of organisers does annoy me a bit. Might have to take a look!
    1 point
  20. It's not divided but does have velcro on the inside so you could add organisers. You can definitely fit a lot of shit in there, I've put a hi-capa in there before when I forgot my belt. I've also ran 3 m4 mags in a sleeve, wasn't the quickest reload ever but it let me run 9 mags in a small set up. that does look better IMO. Can you fit a four pack of beer in yours though? 😁

  21. They do take PayPal. I've bought a few things from them and they've been absolutely fine. Their website does have a co.uk domain but it's not hard to work out that they're based in China!

  22. Yeah that's the concern that a few of us had when cleaning out the site, what are the chances that the landlord boots them out after the lease is up, the amount of work those guys went through to clean up the site well before we started showing up was insane. Place was practically jammed full of rubbish and Pidgeon shit. It's unfortunate that they've clashed with Biohazard's days, just means there's less sites to play at depending on time off work etc. And yeah the site is definitely going to take some time to grow, some good ideas planned though from what I last heard. Might have something to do with locking off certain passages around the building to change up chokepoints so it doesn't get stale with the exact same stuff every game. Looking forward to it man, hopefully it doesn't sell it out in two hours in the future haha The only photo's I've got at the moment is just of the site in it's partially cleaned condition so I wouldn't be doing any justice to it by posting them but I believe they posted a few pics on their facebook page of a test game they did. Looks like your standard CQB site so far with that portion of the site they've completely cleaned out. Visiting next year definitely sounds like a good plan! plenty of time for them to add more to the site and hopefully get back to having full length game days so you don't have to travel very far for only a few hours of play

  23. Not a massive AEG user but I would question the need for a mosfet in a G&G Combat Machine.......

  24. Beyond close, more like dry humping that rule. Strobes are shite anyway all they do is irritate who they are pointed at while completely ruining your own eyesight and aim. You just end up dumping bbs at flickering shadows.
    1 point
  25. You're dangerously close to breaking Life Rule No1 - don't be a dick. It's not on the person with photo sensitive epilepsy to "do their research" and avoid YOU, it's on YOU to do YOUR research and not use it when you're told not to. Likelihood is that they will check during the safety briefing and ban their use on the day if anyone says they have an issue with strobe lighting. Well, that's a budget then, isn't it? Night Evolution, Element, Aim-O copies of the M300 or M600 weapon light would be your best bet. Some versions come with a head that allows you to select strobe or constant and have built in mounts for picatinny rails.

  30. I do somewhat fear that Johnno has being mugged off to clear the site out. After Hammer 2 Operations got punted off of two (might even be three by now) sites, it's not paranoid if they are you to track get you. Given the distance, that it's just half days, that the site is going to take some time to develop fully, and that they've pulled a bit of a cad's trick and are clashing with Biohazard fortnights, I'll be giving it a miss for a bit. Hopefully I'll see you there on a full day when some sanity has returned.

  31. Aye, please carry on ! The more information we have out in the open the better our decisions can become. I am still pre-Warhead motor ownership atm, I'm just waiting on the prices for the new Ronin version before I dive in - hopefully it won't be too long a wait! I took my intended target for the Warhead motor - a new LCT AK - out for a spin just over a week ago after having given the gearbox a clean up (might have also changed the barrel+hop, spring, cylinder and popped in a spare silent piston head setup I had). I kept the standard not-so-highly-rated LCT motor and ran with a Titan 3000mAh 7.4v, surprisingly it went very smooth and kept running for the entire day, ie no gearbox/motor issues. But the trigger response, oh man, was just poor, almost felt like comparing a pistol AEG to a GBB. Once I get the Warhead motor sorted I'll try and take a note of the RPS before and after if I can. Ideally I'd like to pop it in before I install a Titan Gate to see how much of a difference it makes by itself to the trigger performance. But for now ... ... back to more Warhead comments cheers!

    • For sale
    • Used

Hi all So here for sale is my LCT VSS (she's a beauty isn't she?). Selling it due to trying to thin down the collection for when my gf moves in with me. Shoots like a charm and is very silently as it's nicely shimmed with decent range too. All work done by Skunkworks back when he used to be open: -Around 320 fps -Wired to deans, 7.4v lipo (no mosfet) -Short stroked gears if I remember correctly and reshimmed -Around 320fps on 0.2 -Slightly better than stock motor -Wires re routed to go under suppresser thread instead of over to avoid getting cut wires -Polished stock barrel -Chinese "Vector optics" 4x PSO scope (problems with this explained below). -4 100 round mid caps which need new springs (don't feed), 1 50 round midcap, 1 300 round high cap in plum. Issues: So as discussed 4 mags don't feed and need new springs, I believe this is due to me overloading the mags previously (woops). Biggest issue: So the PSO is rusted onto the rifle and the lever to disengage the mount has broken off, meaning the PSO scope is stuck onto the side of the gun. I haven't attempted to remove this with a hammer or through other means as the scope completes the look of the gun. The other issue being that the PSO is wonky and is impossible to completely zero so it is only used for looks (the bbs shoot slightly to the right and above the reticule). There is a slight solution to the problem of the PSO being stuck on the rifle: You can unscrew the 4 screws you see on the PSO mount which lets you take off the PSO but will leave the mount attached to the dovetail mount on the side of the gun. Any questions please ask and no time wasters please. Postage and Paypal fees are extra. Cheers!

  35. Yep, it was a wee green missile that used to shoot out of the 203. His sidearm was an M9. My kids sometimes play with my old Action Man stuff so I've found all these things all over again. There's also a tacticool MP5 with what looks like some sort of sight and a light below the barrel... see it all in a different light now. As much as I love sci fi, I also love the old school guns sans rail systems and all that fancy jazz that festoons "modern" builds. Nothing quite like a simple M16A2 or early M4 with the standard nonrailed handguard, or a classic AK. MP5A4 or Scorpion for that lean look. Pistol wise for me it's classic 1911 (non-MEU etc) or Deagle all the way. Will get lynched for this but I'm not a fan of Glocks, Hi Capas and the like...

  36. Other than their old armalites (plastic body cause barrel wobble) TM are a safe bet in terms of they will work out the box with out modification and their lemon rate is significantly lower than Chinese/Tiawanise made guns. They are however exspensive compared to other brands but that's down to country of origin and QC. There are now many manufacturers that do more for less but if you search these forums you'll see posts about essential mods/repairs needed for most brands. My team currently runs stock G&G ARP9s great guns but out of 5 bought 3 are broken in less than a year, with out heavy use also one drum mag failure out the box for the team mate with the still functioning gun. I had a TM scar which I had for 2 years before I got bored never missed a beat before I sold it( I have now been shot several times by the mate I sold it to). Most Airsoft manufacturers especially lower/ mid tier offer more for your money but (personal opinion) none of them match TM reliability. So if you want gun that you are prepared to do work if/when it needs it go for pretty much and manufacture. If you want a gun that you are 97% sure it will work every time get a TM.

  37. I agree , but i do have the option to not look at the TV and I know i am photo sensitive. Not everyone who is photo sensitive knows it. The frequency of the flash is a factor. So imagine you are an unknown photo sensitive and you rock up to a game and get flashed (completelyinnocently ) by a strobe light that it just the right frequency to induce a seizure in you. Depending on how your brain reacts you may You feel a little disorientated and maybe you feel a bit ill. Shake it off and carry on. You end up on the deck, possibly twitching and you can loose control of your bodily functions. When you come too you feel groggy and need to get a change of clothes. You airsoft day is over and you won't feel right for a day or so. At worst seizures are life threatening

  42. "Do I need a proper ghillie to be a sneaky sniper? Do I need to shell out for a full leaf suit and spend hours, days, weeks, months, years crafting it to perfection?" No. No you do not. One of the marshalls finally found me and snapped a pic of me being one with the bush. This is my lightweight, summer loadout that I've been using because my current ghillie isn't great in woodland as it's really a grassland ghillie and gets caught on literally everything (Worthing Airsoft has basically no grass). Rifle wrap is Sprinter Custom Ghillie and the hood is a Stich Profi Russian leaf hood. Haven't crafted anything onto either of them (the SCG stuff doesn't need crafting anyway...), just picked a good spot that didn't silhouette me and kept still
