  1. First time using a sewing machine and eyelet tools I made a prototype/test suppressor cover in pencott greenzone. The next one I will really take my time and try make look better.

  3. I think you've actually made the right choice. You won't be doing backflips off of logs with them, but the truth is that most airsofters don't, most of the time. What we do a lot is clomp in and out of rabbit holes and marshy bits all the time. I avoid new fangled multi-panel composite boots because every seam is a leak waiting to happen, and saving 50 grammes will be a great help to the marshals that are hauling you to the safe zone with your feet pointing backwards.

Except you can't. "Lead time 10-14 days" means they don't have any. They have essentially nothing in stock. If you believe their two week estimate, well, I can get a bridge to you by then. I'll be brutally honest, that's tl;dr. I'd list them separately, without the backstory, and with an all-in price including magazines, postage and fees. Collection is the exception, and I'd be astonished if anyone is going to buy both of them for a discount of £0.00 Best of luck though.

  6. Jesus, no offense, but even for a scotsman you bring a whole new meaning to the saying "tight as a gnats chuff" 🤣, yeah you do have to add some pouches to the mle but that doesn't have to be expensive, in the scheme of things it's actually a very sturdy good quality bit of kit for a bargain price, & will outlast a lot of the so called "gucci" more expensive items that players use. As for the belt order you've mentioned, that was actually marketed originally as a sniper set up, hence the fixed horizontal mag pouches on the rear, I've got one & while it's the typical bulle high quality, it has limitations in its use, which includes its very small amount of additional molle for customising your load out. The other thing is you've described yourself as "old & a bit chunky", or something like that, well as a fellow geriatric chunky monkey I can confirm the mle is not only a fairly lightweight base, it's also very adjustable & does a great job in hiding middle age spread lol. Way better than many of these micro style rigs that many players are using, they look horrific on anybody that weighs more than about 12 stone 😬

  7. No, there are loads of idiots like that. LARP as you like, it's all good. I have had issues with people in plate carriers genuinely not feeling hits though, I wouldn't encourage them.

  8. You can modify any AUG to have the semi only position, It's done with the removal of the plastic on the safe/selector bar. I think CA and TM come with it done as standard, but I'm a bit out of the loop now as I've not been keeping track over Covid. As for the TM HC, It's a nice gun, But all of the bonuses are in the gearbox. Absolutely nothing is externally different on them from a JG. A Bog standard JG A1/A2 with a couple of upgrades (Gears 13:1, Motor HT, Shimming, New hop rubber) can do what the TM does for half the price. The triggers can be greased and the springs stretched to make the trigger slightly better but it's a big linkage to move so it's never going to be amazing. Don't bother with the A3/A4 variants the front RIS is really heavy and makes them a lot harder to use all day.

    THE TM MWS thread

TM MWS, Stock bucking, SixG nub and buffer spacer, 410mm Barrel + Revanchist High Flow Nozzle. Otherwise stock. Tested with .45's: 357.8 (fps) 354.5 355.1 354.3 355.3 355.7 354.9 357.1 1-2 seconds between shots. Average of 2.65-2.66J Got an average of 350 with .48's, similar consistency with one deviation of +10 FPS Non UK user so higher FPS is legal where I'm at, that being said I have the stock nozzle and a Dynamic precision nozzle on hand to help tame that down a bit for DMR uses. Why am I sharing this? Because I am SUPER impressed with the consistency. Its on par with my SRS using the same ammo.

  10. Am I the only idiot who actually thought his plate carrier was too light, and so went out and bought 2 × 2.5kg plates to weigh it down for the next skirmish? 😅

  11. I have the TM AUG HC. I love it, very much. As said, the TM has a midpoint on the safety that allows for semi-auto fire, but it is still a pretty heavy and squishy trigger 'cause it's a bullpup. A few things to note on mine. 1) the safety push lever thing is fairly sharp on the corners, I filed mine down. 2) After two years of running it, the semi-auto has stopped working. I haven't even touched the gearbox in all this time though, I've been waiting on a second reliable gun before I crack the AUG open. Full auto works fine though. 3) after two years, even the TM is getting a wobbly bottom rail and a bit creaky. 4) Get a second ejection port cover because the mock bolt is a total ass to put back in But, you'll get 40m effective range (at like 0.7j on 0.28s) and an absolute hellfire of bbs. If we're throwing out suggestions, the arp556 is a pretty nice gun. A friend has one, and it sits right on the full auto power limits with 0.28s, even with that tiny barrel. Has decent accuracy, range and RoF too. Plus it takes regular m4 mags. The metal bodied one is already pretty light, and now there's the v2 polymer version that's about the top of your price range. Though it's a bit springy when you're shooting it for some reason.

  12. the TMs have a semi and auto select built into the safety now just to add I under stand the appeal of sticking to the same platform for mag compatibility but this is airsoft there is no guarantee that your current mags will feed with any of the guns you choose.

  13. If you go for an Aug, be aware of the finicky two stage trigger, not everyone gets on with it, BUT all is not lost, I think one manufacturer has made one with a traditional fire selector, can't remember who though?, @Druid799 might have one(he's got everything else 😜), failing that @Iceniis our resident Aug expert, he'll know 👍

  15. So after recieving a bit of money and going against all advice offered in the New Players and Arrivals thread i went ahead and purchased a NE STEN Mk2(S). I also purchased a WE G18C because i had a go with one and just found it incredibly fun (dont judge me haha). Anyway the STEN is a absolutely lovely but heavy piece of kit. The kick the recoil gives is actually quite a lot more than expected which suprised me. After a bit of faffing around i figured out how to load my one mag with a speed loader i went about setting the bolt stop feature up which added to realism which will add more bonus points in my honest opinion. I have a bit of a kink for historical WW2 weapons and am waiting on the day when a Lee Enfield gets released. I'd love put together a British WW2 loadout, although maybe not the uniform (the 37 webbing would do), however the Webley having no hop up and being supposedly over 400fps is a no go and the Browning has faults and bad reviews (although supposedly the 2020/2021 one is better). This leaves me with the 1911 as an option which will probably be purchased later rather than sooner. As you can see from the pics i had to bodge a front sling mount with paracord and a heavy duty key ring but it works and is rock solid. I went with a three point sling as after trying a two point i found it impossible to transition shoulders and with the 3 point its just easier although not as quick as a one point. A one point sling would be pretty impossible with this STEN as it swinging about and catching me in the nuts would absolutely fudging kill. I recently got a tax rebate and am waiting for the mags to be restocked at AirsoftWorld, once i have a minimum of five i'll take it to a skirmish but until then its just sitting there looking pretty. Ohhh another thing, NE's customer service is exceptional, i had a few problems with the mag and NE are sending me replacements (and spare extra parts for the future) free of charge from Taiwan (hopefully the planned Chinese invasion of Taiwan doesn't happen soon and put a halt to Taiwanese exports) which is some of the best customer service ive experienced. I'll update this thread when i actually field it and give more impressions but as a bit of retail therapy from an absolute shit year of dickhead employers its really cheared me up.

    Hello from north London!

Hi All, I used to play airsoft regularly back in the west midlands with First and Only about 8 years ago, but had to stop due to saving for travelling. I got all of my old kit out the other day and thought it might be time to get back into it, considering how much fun I had, always coming back home with a smile on my face! Looking at Reddit and this forum, it looks like a lot has changed since I started. Moved to north London last year and looking at sites, the nearest one looks to be Bunker 51 (£25 for 3 hours though, I'm used to paying that for a full day..!). I do own a car for the time being and would happily be given recommendations for good sites in and around the area. If anyone does play at Bunker 51 or any site nearby, and wants to have a "rusty rental" on their team, who doesn't take life or airsoft seriously and will laugh when they get shot, let me know!

  17. Yeah I apologise about the tightness of the purse strings... I've got two guns being meddled with by the site technician (for which I'll owe some cash next time I play), a desire to buy a TM high capa (and ideally another rifle), and a wife who has got wise to the fact I want to spend money on this hobby when I'm telling her to be more careful with money each month 😋 So I'm trying to save money on this part of my kit, but I'm realising it's difficult to get the things I want at bargain basement pricing! Still, whatever I buy now doesn't have to be my 'forever' loadout, just need something better than sticking everything in pockets. For at least a couple of months.

    Will my webbing wobble?

Get yourself a bulle mle, cheap, stable & enough molle for most setups but your back & upper part of your front isn't wrapped in sweat inducing nylon/cordura. As for the holster, get a serpa or imi, or one of the half decent knock offs for your chosen pistol, with a molle fitment, no more wobble, fast draw & pretty much guaranteed not to lose mags mid game, something very common with material holsters or sticking them in pouches. & yep, mle's & holsters do come up on the forums or ebay s/h at very good prices.

  24. Hahaha 😋 Well I'm basing that on one day's play where I've hit everyone I've aimed at with it. So the gun was shooting as far as I can identify targets in the environment. The real range of the gun might very well be drastically reduced, but it was good enough! (I didn't know the hop was ineffective until I took it to the tech at the end of the day) I've watched a few videos of double eagle guns and I'm sold. Still haven't found anyone that sells their best guns though, I'll have to methodically work through each of the popular retailers. Shame that TaiwanGun aren't shipping to the UK at the moment Is that binary trigger a little bit of a cheat for semi auto games though? Edit.. Yeah I can't find any stock of double eagle. What a 'mare, the m904e looked a great option. It's only £95 at TWG too, though I don't know what the shipping and taxes would add to that. So yeah, the Aug still tempts me. I'll go look at the ARP556 as I happened across a video of one of those last night... Blimey, I only just caught up with looking at the Cyma .. £80 for a tidy looking gun? That's amazing value, to make up for a lack of cool features

  25. Hey Spartan, Looks like airsoftworld have a new CNC hammer in made by CTM and it's £14.95. They say it's quote "full CNC'd steel meaning it's rock solid and won't break unlike other 'alloy' made counterparts. It's even QPQ hardened (Google it :)) for extra durability and corrosion resistance". https://www.airsoftworld.net/ctm-steel-hammer-for-the-aap-01-and-tokyo-marui-glock-compatibles.html

  28. Double eagle has been around for years ,they where one of the first Chinese cloners they where famous(or more like infamous) for el cheapo AEGs and spring shotguns(which surprisingly where very good) the disappeared a few yrs ago but recently re-emerged with this new range of very good quality polymer bodied fully programmable guns . Tackle is correct , I’ve got a snow wolf AUG and it has a ‘proper’ trigger and there is a mod you can do that allows a traditional trigger as apposed to the two stage one on all the others .

  29. No love for anything from Double Eagle then? 😢 (polymer receivers, some with quite short barrels, and a very good MOSFET) Regarding the Firehawk though they are very short and light, however the mechanical trigger really let's them down, they're painfully slow to get off their first shot (I'm getting my son a new rifle for Christmas, his Firehawk will then become a back-up, and will be my first attempt to fit either a GATE Aster or Titan as with an optical trigger it will be such a good CQB gun).

  30. Just to Chuck another name in the ring check out the Double Eagle range with the falcon mosfet gearboxes . I recently bought one as an ‘it’s the end of the day I’m totally bollox’ed I need a lightweight gun !’ gun and it turned out to be a fecking awesome piece of kit ! I was totally blown away by the performance for the price I paid for it . Everyone I’ve met who has one have only confirmed how good they are and haven’t heard anything bad about them as of yet .

  32. I don't see any you should avoid. I'm happy with my SpecnaArmsEdge but some people have reported problems with them. I tend to think G&G are expensive for what you get but they are highly regarded by many. Not heard of Saigo Defense but you can't buy from iwholesales anyway (Unless you managed to set up an account with them) Best to get some hands-on before considering the Para-Aug. Its quite back heavy and takes some getting used to. Have a look at the JG range as they make good low cost polymer guns that shoot quite well. CYMA also make decent budget (lighter) guns As BigStew mentioned, consider an MP5 or similar sub-machinegun. Shorter barrels in airsoft do not determine max range as they do in real weapons. There is some correlation between length and range but there are many factors that affect the range apart from barrel length.

I was surprised too, but there we go. I'm not sure where he's importing them from at that price though. Although £300 for the bundle including the mags is probably still the right price. Especially as the Zhukov is in stock for £230 it works out about right I think 👍

  39. I have the raider 2.0 and it is really light at just under 2kg without a mag. The firehawk should be good too if you want shorter. I personally can't advocate for augs since I hate the balance of bullpups (I prefer pulling the weight up from the front). Ares and Specna are OK, but G&G have by far the best reputation of them all for low cost and good performance.

  40. I get it, I usually use hi caps or drum mags where possible as I cant be arsed to carry loads of mags, it just looks wrong in a dmr, I use smgs so kinda get away with it. Appreciate the effort and engineering though, decent thread. And that stock... beautiful

  44. Yep sorry, '37 Pattern webbing! Try E-Bay to source it. Coincidently, I bought a '37 belt and water bottle cover tonight, well used but sound. £15.75 for the belt and £8 something for the bottle cover. I bought the cross-straps for less than a tenner as an unmatched pair and the ammo pouches for less than a tenner each. About £50 for the whole set up. If you're feeling energetic you can Blanco them until they match colour wise. For battle dress try and find Belgian or Greek 'Ike' pattern. Other jackets are close but the wool Belgian and Greek are closest to WWII UK. As cheap as £15, again on E-Bay. Hungarian Cotton Ike's are even cheaper. Militaria fairs are always expensive. £50 quid is extortionate. Try Evil Bay or your local militaria shop.

  45. My boy has a Sten that he loves. WWII games are great fun. Dont be tempted by cheap Indian repro '37 pattern, it's awful. As for the Webley, you can get power down shells, or modify the existing shells. If I remember right you drill the gas ports out. A mate fields one to good effect.

  49. Yep it's deliberate all right. 1) Certain elements of industry with unsustainable/unrealistic business models are unhappy that their support of endless cheap labour has been staved off. E.g. the haulage industry (driven by the likes of Hoyer). Therefore the present manufactured "crisis" has been weaponised in an attempt to force a change in policy. 2) Government fuck-ups in all areas of life due to genuine catastrophic bungling incompetence having a knock-on affect in... all areas of life. 3) China wants to rule the world. 4) The media craving to make news and policy rather than just report it.
