  1. That's what most people do. Stand by it, looking wistfully at the pile of frayed nylon and split seams wishing they'd bought something better.

  2. Another great day at @Ace Airsoft War Games yesterday and the weather didnt seem to put a damper on things! It was a special day for me yesterday, as it was my final game as a rental and while typing this out I just had my UKARA sent through... I don't think my bank account is going to be very happy with me this month..... Also, shout out to @strykerles for bailing my brother out with a spare face mask on the day, appreciate it mate!

  3. This is so overpriced that I can get a return train ticket to the nearest airsoft shop and buy everything included here and I still would have spent less than this.

  4. Early hrs of the morning in a secret military base somewhere in the Middle East , an SBS team are kiting up ready for their next mission when suddenly the voice of one of the operators booms out through the darkness “ Oi QM ! What’s all this Crye shit about ? Where’s my f**king Viper SAV gone !” 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  5. After seeing a discussion on another thread I had the idea for a thread dedicated to those of us who want to lose weight, get physically fitter or just generally live healthier. Whether you're getting fit for airsoft, using airsoft as a way to improve your health or you're already fit and want to help and encourage others, you're all welcome to give advice or ask questions. I will say though, try to avoid promoting things like keto diets and intensive CrossFit type things just because they aren't for everyone and aren't always healthy as an entry level or more casual non-athlete.

  7. I do internal style martial arts and have started boxing recently. I find that skipping and punchbag work are as good for cardio as running but a lot easier on the injured leg, whilst taiji keeps joints healthy and supple. High rep, low weight weight lifting is good stuff too, and dirt cheap if you get a kettle bell from LIdl or similar! Food wise, I'm on a low carb high protein diet with no sugar. I do enjoy a low fat scotch of an evening, but mix it with water rather than lard or cola, so it is basically an isotonic sports drink. The advice I would give is to spend on protective gear as you would in airsoft. Decent trainers if you run, decent gloves if you strike. I've too many injuries to list due to duff gear. The thing I find difficult is eating early enough. If I eat a huge healthy breakfast I'm set up for the day, but rarely actually do. I start the day with this ultra quick work out and then a few minutes with the medicine ball.

  9. Didn't play today, there weren't enough people and the weather is now way too warm to even breathe. Took the opportunity to check my M4s for next week's tournament and finish my AK, which needed the new Perun v3 installed and the gears short stroked. Installing the mosfet is relatively easy, some soldering is required (negative battery, positive motor and signal to positive) because it's impossible to have a universal harness for V3s. Two teeth removed from the sector as well. Programming the unit is a bit of a cunt tbf, the new hybrid has a very convenient LED system that tells you which setting you're fucking with.....too bad that my gearbox is sealed shut lol. Turned out well, can't wait to use it

  12. I have been skirmishing for five years and one thing I could never understand, is how people managed just using mid-caps. I had always gone in the opposite direction and still have drum mags for my M4's, Evo's and even Glock/AAP. Playing almost with the attitude that just keeping the opponents heads down was a victory, even if I had to light-up the wall they were behind or bush beside them. However last weekend I changed up my "rig" to include pouches for MP5/EVO mid-caps. Bearing in mind Evo mid-caps are 75 rounds, I was especially surprised that even after a heavy "defend the village" game, I had only just started on my second mag. I also discovered that I found it satisfying when the gun stopped firing on empty and I had to use the bolt release after inserting a new one. So I think I'll stick with them going forward and just pick my shots more carefully. What have you changed/learned recently?

  13. @Oneshotscott is spot on with all that is required to lose excess body weight. Drinking lots of water is a big must, not excessive but a good 3-4 litres a day. And a big misconception is that fat is bad, full fat milk and other healthy fats from seeds/nuts etc are key to the body actually processing fat rather than storing it. Food is simple calories in vs effort/exercise output. Only eat carbs if you have exercised. Avoid carbs in the morning. It’s also good for gut health and fat burning, getting the most nutrition from foods to fast for a day every few weeks if you know you are not going to be overly active / busy physically.

  16. Well, you shouldn't, but we have to hoe the row that we've been dealt wait what? In my case, I find it a lot easier to buy and eat none of something than a little of something. Ideally, smaller portions is probably the way to go. Google sorted their developer bloat just by putting out smaller plates in their free canteens. Why on earth would you shove them up your bum? 😲 OK, I've read that ten times now, and I still can't unsee it. Depends how you do it. It doesn't have to be steak, salmon and organic avocado, I'm doing fine on chicken, sardines and cabbage. I'm actually eating a lot more greens now than I used to, which is another benefit. At its core, low carb is just about having a salad instead of chips.

  17. My two big ones are cut out processed carbs (white bread, pasta, rice…) and switch to low/no alcohol beer (BrewDog Nanny State or Punk AF, BigDropBrewing Galaxy Milk Stout are all great!) to save a bunch of calories but still taste great. Doing some short jogs and cycling to work a few days a week certainly adds up and burns off more and I certainly feel better mentally for it. Jogging with a set of weighted plates ups the burn and good practice for running a GBBR with 6 mags!

  20. I lost 4.5 stone on a basic calorie deficit with realistic expectations. The main thing was that I cut out snacking and by the time I got down to the last stone or so the calorie deficit basically forced me to make better choices about what I was eating. Before anyone starts cheering, I have put about 3 stone of it back on because I like cake and life's too short. That said I am aiming to drop some of it again but not to where I was as it wasn't sustainable for me.

  21. Interesting titbit - on a 7k run (back when i was doing cardio) or heavy leg day i burn around 6-800 cals. I wore my heart rate monitor to airsoft a few weekends ago when it was hot out, and i burnt around 2200cals for the day.

  23. I personally don't agree with cutting out carbs, they are far more filling then calorie dense foods such as fats. For me its as simple as calories in vs calories out. Don't get me wrong, I still eat fats as part of a balanced approach. There are 'naughty' foods that you can snack on that are low calorie dense foods, personal favorite is cheap microwave popcorn. One bag, which is a pretty large bowl is around 150 calories. You can't out train a bad diet however. Cannot recommend doing what others have suggest, martial arts, boxing ect to loose weight. Its fun, engaging and you burn bloody loads of calories doing so. Oh, and hiking/walking. Not like 20 minute walks, 2-8 hours of walking (if not airsofting at the weekend) is fantastic. I am however, 25 and have never really been in a position to loose weight but have achieved 'good' levels of conditioning.

  27. I wasn't bashing keto diets specifically, I just meant that I didn't want people advising done of the more extreme diets or athlete's diets to people who wouldn't necessarily benefit from them and keto is one that gets brought up a lot. I'm massively cutting down my sugar and carb intake myself.

  30. My airsoft day yesterday was a selling rifs day. after asking myself some questions about kit , rifs and what I enjoy I now have reduced my gear to what I use regularly and am willing to carry. no more filling the car with 4 rifs all with different mags gear just in case. with three spare at him that didn’t make the cut because it’s too rainy/depends which side of bed I got out of/which way the wind is blowing/didn’t match my camo(what a tart!!!)

  31. I recommend using myfitnesspal to help track calories in/out. The free version is enough to see what's what. Been using it on my long awaited cut and it (depending on the person) makes you thik about what you're eating- do i need that bag of crisps at 10pm or is it because im bored? Can I have a banana or some more protein instead?

  32. what @alxndrhll said. When it all boils down, weight loss is simple maths - put less fuel in than you burn and you'll lose weight. It can be whatever kind of vegan/keto/fast food diet you like but as long as you're burning more than you put in you'll use those fat reserves that we all want to get rid of. It's the focus on calories and the knowledge that it gives you that'll help loads, when I first started using an app to track them I was amazed at exactly how many calories a large bowl of cereal could have, at how easy it is to have used up a days calories by lunchtime and also how portion control is a really useful thing to keep an eye on too. Biggest thing is willpower though, it'll be tested and tested again both in terms of food (we're all guilty of late-night nibbles!) and also any kind of exercise you do, the hardest part of exercise is always getting out the door / starting - you feel great after but sometimes when you ache or it's raining or there's something good on the tv it's far easier to not do it. Training buddies help a lot so why not arrange something with a mate and have a catch up over a ketlebell or run rather than a pint? or have the pint afterwards, you gotta rehydrate after all 😉 Get some scales, but don't use them too often and don't get down when they go the wrong way. Weighing every day does no good at all, weigh yourself on the same day each week at the same time. General consensus is first thing in the morning after you've been to the loo, but the same time (whenever that is) helps to reduce the variables. The scales will go the wrong way, don't ignore them after that and don't throw them out the window, it's just a reset - ok, what did I do this week that's caused that? what am I doing differently this week? Losing a load of weight can be daunting, so those weekly targets can be good as stepping stones along the way, losing 20kg is a big number but making that 200g a week, well that sounds more achievable. About 200 calories a pint. Just factor them into a weekly meal plan, or do some extra exercise to balance it out. For me, a pint is about 15mins of cardio.

  33. Aye, super impartial from a chap who's good friends with a retailer that carries Silverback products 👀. That, not insignificant, element aside... am I just blind or does this type of video just show nothing? It's been a long time since I bothered with 'airsoft YouTube' largely because it's just a hive of useless (often paid for, but rarely disclosed) information and shite peddling, but even when it was something I engaged with I've always struggled to see the point of this type of content. It's literally someone strolling around while you squint at the monitor to track a BB, only to have sound effects and post production convince you things hit because you sure as shit can't see it for yourself. If it's something you're into, you do you, but I have never understood this type of thing.

  34. Had a great day today, running a very light VSR loadout and no ghillie. Had some issues with the HPA system leaking, but the tank lasted until just before lunch where I took it apart and fixed the issue, then switched to co2 for the afternoon. The line came loose where it screws into the bolt, so I just had to tighten that up. Got so many people with the VSR just holding areas and when I started playing aggressively with the mk23 I got loads of people with that by flanking as there were less numbers due to people wimping out due to rain (which all cleared up before the games started anyway). Also had a lot of success from a stealth perspective, even without the ghillie. Just observing the seven S's of concealment saw a lot of success, as I had people look directly at me multiple times and not know where I was. Scrim net over the head and shoulders, rifle wrapped and staying nice and still made me basically invisible. Paired with both the VSR and mk23 being stupidly silent and I went undetected for most of the day, just posting up and covering a location, then moving if things got too dicey.

  37. And there we go, the root of the problem. I'd rather have sites just hush up and say nothing rather than swing their dicks, then shrivel up when it comes to actually confronting the players that they know fine well are cocking around.

    What have you made?

Given the big ol' difference between quality ballistic rated goggles and the same goggles but with a fan, I think there's a huge need for simple ready-made kits (or at least the plans/links grouped together online) based on some common and popular goggle types in order for people do to these mods themselves.

  40. He's decided we are in the wrong. Said he doesn't believe the marshal did anything wrong with my guns. Accused us of being late on an open forum(despite being there an hour early, one of the first in fact) and not pointing out who was to blame as I apparently knew. I didn't know I was there as a marshal. Said I didn't try and engage when he was the one who walked off. So, losing battle here. I paid via paypal and have stuck a claim in. Bollocks to em. Wonder if I'll land an f&o ban.

  42. 2nd what Druid799 said even with the high end guns there is still a chance it will be duff out the box. For everone that sings the praises a certain gun there will someone that will never touch it ever again. Go with what you like (just never buy VFC) and you do not need to up grade any gun out the box actually use it Frist.

  43. I never said that. On the contrary, I highly praise them for being good guns at affordable prices. It's just that, as with all things, when you lower the price you need to cut corners somewhere and the compression is what Specna chose for their Core/Edge series. Regarding PME, imagine your gun suddenly turning into a typewriter.

Running a 7.4v Li-Po is fine in an AEG. Look for the highest mAh that will fit. (this indicates how long it will last in a game) 1400 to 1600 should last a whole day with a mix of semi and auto use. Its also advisable to change the plugs to Deans (also known as T-connectors) They're small and make good solid connections.

  45. Almost forgot. Don't push for maximum fps/Joules, it's a thin line between having a great day and not being able to play because the site chrono is messed up and reads higher energy levels. There is sod all difference between 1 and 1.1 Joules, maybe two metres of extra range on a good day. On the overspin issue, short stroking + a stiffer spring will help, but honestly I wouldn't worry too much about it, in a certain way it avoids lock ups Which imo are worse than a bit of automatic precocking as I'd rather have a weird cycle timing than pulling the trigger to see no BB leaving the barrel

Ah ok, good to know. I wanted to go in and look at an la85 and a Rapax m5 , couldn’t get through and shop looked shut so ended up going to Reading and buying from a shop there. I’m a little put off as if they can’t answer the phone when you want to buy something then what will it be like when you have a problem and want some support.

  47. While waiting for the VFC gas block to tuen up I decided to have a go at doing the trade marks. I also added a end plate sling point. Trades were cut on a vinyl cutter and then spray painted. Once almost dry the vinyl is pulled off to leave the trademarks. The the whole thing is given a coat of matt varnish to stop them wearing off.
