New Perun Hybrid installed. Anti retard design: you REALLY need to be special to mess
Tactical Pith Helmet and one other reacted to Skara for a status update
New Perun Hybrid installed. Anti retard design: you REALLY need to be special to mess the installation, the hardest part is peeling the selector sticker off the paper. Programming isn't super intuitive, but not a big deal, one will eventually get used to it, plus now you have a very convenient set of stickers to attach to a buffer tube/stock for a quick reminder along with the usual card. Disabling precocking is hilarious, the gun starts to charge like a laser beam, then fires a shot to release spring tension Binary trigger doesn't struggle anymore to read the trigger on a "slow" build like the optical did. If you hold the trigger it cancels the 2nd shot. Two stage trigger is super convenient, although it doesn't work when binary trigger is on (I might leave binary off for now). Adjustable precocking/ab/trigger sensitivity are a nice feature. Rof reduction and dmr delay are two settings I'll never touch, but I get normal people would use them. For the price? Gate can go fuck itself. You want the absolute maximum freedom of tuning? Can't beat a Titan with Expert firmware, but these two are very different units for very different purposes (imo). Overall, worth the wait for me.2 points -

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Skara and one other reacted to Badgerlicious for a topic
We're back! Holy cow, what a day. Blue team dominated all day, barely lost out on a rolling defence game, but won everything else. The teamwork and positioning was great. I had a great time sneaking through some bushes with a few others to take a base, and on said rolling defence game, we had a fantastic push over the ridgeline with a ton of smokes going down. Had a classic youtube montage moment, holding a flanks and taking out maybe 10-15 people before they got me. Kinda wish I had a camera just for that part of the game. Even my l86 having some hop issues couldn't put a damper on my day.2 points -

Wire, plastic or wood? (asking for a friend) Just picked up a shipment of these Snake Eyes helmets, I've got a bunch of ARC rails and NVG mounts coming from wish this weekend... Anyone want a totes operator AF helmet? I've got some paperwork that says it's totes legit and will stop a bb (tested very scientifically with a .12 fired from a mcdonalds straw) prices between £69 and £420 depending on if I like you and how much glue I've had to use to stick crap onto it...2 points -

Just started to dive into my CA MP5K project that I got from the forums. Gone is the hideous rail someone had put on it, now working on re-routing wires, ordered some new body pins and trying to get rid of the thread adaptor by means of Dremel/WD40/Fire What I can confirm is that it fires, is accurate at CQB ranges and is very loud...1 point -

They're here! Minor disappointment in the V3 as it requires soldering out of the box, but I can totally understand why they did that (there's a million + 1 different guns with V3 boxes and having a one size fits all set of wires is impossible). V2 will be installed tonight, V3 within saturday1 point

Is the WE Barry Burton the one that explodes? Edit: Yes1 point
-
I personally think most of TM M9 Resident evil specials are a bit of a rip so if you can live with relatively poor performance go WE. Just make sure it's an M9A1 based clone as the original TM M9 is at least a 25 year old design at this point and WE made a poor copy of an obsolete gun.1 point

discs are probably spacing, holding it slightly closed compared to standard, at least if it's working anything like the adjustable npas. dropping back to stock would be my go-to given you're regulating the fps externally now.1 point -

My slowly growing grey hair says otherwise, but thanks pal! haha I'm happy to go alone to get started, I have been previously casual on the odd day out, but I'm ready to take it on as a full time hobby! My bank account will hate me by the looks of things though. How has things been with Airsoft during Corona times? Starting to open up a bit more normally now?1 point

As BigStew said, it depends on the use and your preference really. TM has gained their reputation for a reason. Good reliability, accuracy and being plastic will use less gas. Personally though I always go for metal as it just feels better. I don't know about the Biohazard model but I have the standard WE M9 v2 and I'm very happy with it.1 point
-
is it a collection piece or do you want to use it? collection go with the WE, if you want to use it metal is not a good thing on a pistol. especial on a gun that is a clone of a gun design to have a plastic slide and use low powered gas. None of the WE pistols will perform as well as their TM counterparts.1 point

ZCI Barrel, Maple Leaf Macaron, Omega (or style) Nub, ZCI Rotary Plastic Hop-Unit. Job done. Don't bother with Prowin or clones. Maxx Hop units are supposed to be very nice - if you can get it to work with your gun. For every success story with that unit, there's one or two others where it just doesn't work for their setup.1 point -
Long or Short Barrel Distance
PHNTQM reacted to Predator EAT-14 for a topic
If you're talking about them both having the same FPS at the exit of the barrel, either long or short, then no there'll be no discernable difference in range. A longer barrel doesn't necessarily mean better accuracy either. My ARP9 with a 5 inch barrel is marginally more accurate/consistent than my M4 with about a 14 inch barrel. It depends how you want to play really, if you want a higher FPS on your gbbr then a longer barrel will make that easier to achieve with less stress on the internals of the system.1 point -

Well had 1st game today and me and the young un loved it. Couldn’t stay all day as had to get home for the youngest but both of us had a great day. As its all a learning curve we now know what to expect / do better for next time. We hired the guns but like a fool i forgot to fetch our bb’s and whilst i was only taking aimed shots to conserve ammunition my young un thought he was Arnie in predator. I have ordered some de fogging spray for next timers young uns mask kept misting up as well as a lower face protector for me as i took a few well placed hits to the head. But 100 % be going again and be even better next year when my youngest can also attend.1 point -

Aeg for Rc Airplane?
Cromulon1994 reacted to Speedbird_666 for a topic
I have quite a bit of experience with RC Fixed Wing Aircraft (15 years with dozens of aircraft and types, from 3D Shockies, to Scale Warbirds, to Helis and FPV Racing Drones) - so believe me when I say you will struggle with this. It has been done before - FliteTest mounted AEG innards into a fairly large model. What aircraft are you expecting to mount this to? It will need to be reasonably sized to get the wing loading low enough. As others have mentioned, an AEG GB is fairly chunky, so don't expect to mount this on a sub-2m model without detrimental handling qualities. The heavier the model, the higher the wing loading, the faster it needs to fly, and unless you are mounting the GB/Barrel assembly off the longitudinal axis (i.e pointing down) you will be diving down on your target to take the shot. If that target is a human, then you are pointing 4-5kg of model directly at them. Personally, outside of YouTube shenanigans like the FliteTest video - I think it's a fucking stupid idea. The FT Crew are hugely experienced modellers/designers/fliers and the struggled to get rounds on target, having to fly extremely low and use tracer rounds to see their aim. FPV isn't practical unless you some kind of DJI HD setup, and even then, target acquisition is gonna suck.1 point -

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Badgerlicious reacted to Skara for a topic
Today was a good day. Started off with my M4 acting up, so I ended up playing with the ak, which had some hop inconsistencies (the CU chamber is super sensitive and it was either overhop to the moon or not enough hop), but nonetheless it performed nicely. A bit on the heavy side (I'm weak) but the folding stock is really a godsend when moving through thick vegetation. Teamwork is building up, saw good communication and coordination between the teams We also have two new members, with a third one joining in two weeks, nice to see new, younger people getting into the sport Now that we are in lockdown for easter so I might get the chance to fix all these stupid technical issues.1 point -
