  1. Today's game was really fun! 9 people from 2 different clubs plus one or two "freelancers", playing in the hardest and steepest part of our field. Games were smooth, hit taking excellent and we had a good laugh when a single defender wiped the whole attack out in the first 60 seconds of the 2nd last game Did have a few issues with my kit, namely forgetting my bag of bbs at home (had a 2300bb drum, but had to stick to semi auto) and my bodged up backpack ripping itself apart. plus my arms are full of scars because diving in bushes while wearing just a tee is fun If only all game days were like this.

  2. Today was a good day to pew hard. My first day at Biohazard airsoft, an Old Abandoned Chemical Factory CQB site A late start and somewhat vague brief in a rather echoey safe zone weren't great, but then the actual play was really fun. I've been rather spoiled by the big indoors area of the Depot, but Biohazard know their site well, and tailored the games to make the best of it. There was actually more opportunities for stand-off firefights up the length of the site than at the Depot, or you could Billy in up the room maze in the middle with pistol and grenades. Short walks to spawn, quick turn-arounds, good marshalling, good value: yes, very happy with that.

  6. mostly playing springer shotgun recently and also being someone who likes to double tap as i dont trust the tri shot to properly connect all the time.... been playing at a cqb site and has semi only which is fair as not really range to justify full auto. have seen some great plays that noone would risk with full auto threat. but then they also have a few speedsofters with pistols on hpa with m4 mags and hairline triggers... and 1 joule power limits anyway. im fine with larger mag sizes but not rof. plus how it seems such is played is like running blind and shooting as soon as gun is round corner and not based on eye sight. obviously some players need such advantages because a level playing field isnt fair on them or something....

  8. Hello, Grumpy oldman groot here, forgive the incoming French... But what the actual fuck has happened to airsoft? I went to a site last month, woodland and it was single shot. Despite being a shit day, as the games were boring as hell. Single shot in a woodland environment, its just fucking stupid. Then i find out a local CBQ FISH site to me is single shot.. Not just in doors, which i will sort of accept does make some sense ( although i do not support it ) but the entire site. Then on this weekend, a bunch of us went to a site, which had a number of buildings. If you were in the building, single shot. If you were shooting out of the buildings, single shot. If you were shooting AT the buildings, single shot. If you were shooting down the site of buildings, single shot. Everywhere else, have at it. Now, I find that another site that i used to play at a good time ago and was always very good ( also a large woodland site ). Is single shot only, the entire site. When did airsofters become such pansy's? It is not an insurance thing. As I asked a site owner. So why? Why are we suddenly moving to fucking speedsoft. Where having a HPA piece of shit, that i can feather the trigger to shoot as fast as a full auto AEG becomes an attractive proposition. In conclusion.. WTF???

  9. Thats interesting, I hope they havent axed them either. I did message Northeast and they said they were looking at a mid 2021 release date, that was only today so who knows. Thats the reason for this post too ahaha, no one else would understand my giddiness

  11. I dunno whether it was your post on fb I commented on but Northeast have gone very quiet on these, they responded to a message/comment I made on their page about them being indefinitely delayed. I really hope Cybergun haven't put the kybosh on these due to licencing.

  23. That's hilarious. I'll get that fixed. Edit How's that now? I've tested it in-browser at the correct resolution but I can't test it on an iPad. I don't think this will as it's the sidebar render blocking the right part of the page, but I could be wrong. It shouldn't be though, so I've disabled it on tablets and smaller screen sizes. It's meant to collapse underneath the main content. Can you get Stylish on iOS Safari anyway?

    MP5 Project Build

Hello, this thread is basically to provide a log of what I'm doing for an MP5 project, and to see if anybody has any tips, or information about part compatibility. I recently acquired a boneyard G3 which was included with a bunch of other stuff, and decided to try and restore the gun to working order. From first inspection, I could see the G3 had the stock snapped, the RIS rail held on by a single screw (therefore was really wobbly), the receiver had the front part which holds the barrel snapped off, causing the barrel to bend to the left severely, and the lower receiver had a small part snapped off. There were also some other small issues which could be spotted initially. I then stripped the G3 down, to find the wires had been soldered to the motor, the wiring was not in great condition (and was also wired to large tamiya). The next part of the strip down was to open the gearbox up, which I decided to do at a later date. I made a post on here about whether it would be worth trying to replace these broken parts, or whether to build it into a new gun, and it was widely agreed upon that the condition of the G3 was basically beyond repair, especially given availability and price of parts. Because of this I was effectively left with a motor and a V2 gearbox , which I thought was in reasonable condition to use if I was to buy external parts for a different type of RIF which would have parts easier to obtain than a G3. I decided on an MP5A5 would be a nice 'project gun' and started looking for parts. I already have a TM MP5 High Cycle, and 6 mags so this decision made sense. Now I know that with what was left of the G3 it is completely pointless to try and make a gun from buying parts, when I could just buy maybe a JG or a CYMA MP5 for what would work out (much) less than this is going to come to overall, however given that I have lots of free time still as a result of the coronavirus, and an interest in learning the technical side to airsoft guns better without potentially ruining one of my working guns, I figured this would be a nice project to build. Now because I had decided on an MP5, I started briefly looking for parts, and immediately found on ebay an MP5 lower receiver in perfect condition (damage wise at least, needed a small clean when it had arrived), for just £5 which arrived nice and quickly. The listing didn't give any information about the make of the receiver, but it is identical to my TM receiver including the ASGK marking in the same position, so I'm sure this is a TM receiver. After this had arrived, I finally decided to remove the motor from the G3 lower, so I could then remove the gearbox and inspect it. The G3 was only firing on automatic, which I thought would be down to a selector plate problem, but when i looked at the side of the gearbox there just was no selector plate there, which explains the auto/auto/auto fire selector. Next up was opening the gearbox up, and it was not a pleasant sight inside. The first thing I noticed was a huge squirt of hot glue holding in a micro switch at a very bad angle, with the trigger (which had been cut down, looking very messy). There were so many problems inside of the gearbox, that the only parts that I considered to be usable again were: Gearset (Had JG markings, all but confirming the unknown manufacturer of the G3 to be JG) Piston Cylinder Spring Spring Guide Tappet Plate Anti Reversal Latch I then noticed cracks forming in the already radiused gearbox shell, and this may be an over reaction, but decided that the very small cracks were reason to scrap the gearbox shell, and replace this as well. Now that I had decided the gearbox shell would need replacing, it would have made sense to call the project off because it is essentially from no parts now that I'm building this, but I was in need of a project so I decided to continue. So ordered an E&C gearbox shell with QD spring guide, as I had heard good things about these and considered the price to be reasonable. The first thing I did when this arrived, was test that it actually screws in to the lower receiver, which it did, so the next step is to make a shopping list of parts that will continue the project, and try and get information about compatibility from people who know more than me. I also ordered a set of MP5 gearbox springs, which will be useful for the selector plate and trigger switch assembly. 26. In my limited experience, plastic TM pistols are substantialy better than metal pistols from other manufacturers. I understand the appeal of metal (I've thought about changing the slide on my HK45 for a metal one), but I can't help but recognize that the engineering in the rest of the gun was designed as a system. Changing out parts negates the engineering work that went into it and is just as likely to harm performance as help it. I guess my perspective is different because I'm in the USA, but if I were just a "collector", I would just spend my money on the real thing (and have, multiple times). Nothing in airsoft can actually compare. Outside of skirmishing, there's no real point for me in having airsoft guns so I struggle with the "collector" approach. However, skirmishing with airsoft guns is truthfully a lot more fun than target shooting or plinking with real ones. The flip side is that target shooting or plinking with real ones is much more fun than doing the same with airsoft guns. Again, my perspective is likely highly skewed by the fact that I'm in the USA.

  28. My Airsoft day - a few Saturdays ago - went very well. We hired Camp Sparta for the day and held a private game / charity event. The day was an absolute hoot, we knew one another - no silliness or cheating - just old fashioned fun and enjoyment. The morale of this story - if you want to avoid dickheads / cheaters / ego centric site marshals - do your own thing. Get the right people around you and hire a site, and enjoy yourselves again. I'm not done with toxic sites.

The whole forum has been quite janky for me since the update. I'm using the Android version of Chrome. For instance, typing is maddening. Every time I pretty the "Return" key to type a new paragraph, it makes my keyboard disappear, which makes me accidentally press post, or on an advert and then it takes me off the page. So typing a new paragraph involves typing, pressing enter, pressing back into the message box, pressing enter again, and then pressing in the message box to resume typing. And it seems to be the long threads that I can't go into, getting those error messages on "what have you just bought", "gun photos" and occasionally Mack's.

  48. I've just put my first proper WW2 kit together after years of spending all my money on guns instead... I went for a British Commando look mostly because... Well I'll be honest, it was the cheapest. And having just mostly drained my funds getting the new Northeast Sten MkV, it needed to be! It considerably helped cost wise that I already had the bergen, scarf, and got the boots off my dad, from his time in the navy. I will be replacing those ill-fitting gaiters as soon as possible. For a more early war look, removed the scarf and grabed the M1928. Now I've just got to get to a game in it!
