My son and I tried Bravo Romeo for the first time a couple of weeks back. Had a cracking day. The site was well run, the terrain varied, decent gameplay and really sensible respawn rules. I have to say that, with the exception of one turbo bellend who accused me of non-hit taking, when he was shooting with all the accuracy of Michael J Fox on a rollercoaster, the other players were friendly, honest and all there to have fun. No aggro at all, standfast Marty McFuck and his no-miss BBs. Went full tigerstripe for the first time, as I usually mix and match, but was pleasantly surprised how effective it was, especially in the ferns. First run out for the Platatac Peacekeeper 5 chest rig too and it was great.4 points

Could it be better? That depends on your spring, and a lot of other factors. Setups are extremely individual here: port location, piston weight, BB brand, barrel wobble--all these come into play when determining exact FPS on a certain setup. Additionally, most airsoft springs are not rated consistently in any way, shape, or form. Some manufacturers, like PDI, still hold to a quantifiable system, but many makers just slap labels on things. The springs are also inconsistently made, allowing inconsistency between springs of the same brand. I once got a 2J reading out of an "M120", which is ridiculous. This means that your airseal could be perfect, or it could be bad--FPS alone tells us nothing, because we have no consistent baseline. To test your airseal, you should first try placing a piece of tissue paper over the feed tube with the replica upside down, and dry fire a few shots in semi. If the paper blows off, you know your nozzle to hop packing seal is bad. If it doesn't, then your nozzle/packing seal is probably okay. Another item is consistency. Using high quality BBs (G&G, BLS, etc), a well-built AEG can achieve less than ~1 FPS variance between shots in a series of five or ten. (FPS varies by humidity, etc, so FPS will naturally change slightly based on the day and the weather) Finally, there are still makers that produce very high quality springs that are very consistent both in output, and consistency among themselves. Primarily, this is PDI and Guarder. There are other springs that are fine, of course, but these two brands have excellent track records on their springs, and I've recorded extreme consistency from both.2 points

Load-Out / Loadout Picture topic
Skullchewer reacted to Smiling-Dutchman for a topic
Finally got a good photo of myself again. Very simple loadout: 4 M4 mag pouches, one double mag pouch for my ODIN speedloader, dumppouch and a generic pouch to keep my wallet/keys/phone in. Bought a new mouthmask as well, this one is more of a tube scarf with a bit of mesh on one side, so no straps around my head, was getting a bit full there (straps for goggles (with EXFOG and top strap for it), straps for mouthmask, straps for comms headset, almost had no more place to put any of it.)1 point -
ICS L85 trigger not returning (broken spring housing on trigger mechanism).
Dan Robinson reacted to Colin Allen for a topic
On the ICS, this is usually due to a failure of the trigger switch unit; you probably need a new switch unit. The best thing to do would be to open it up and have a look at the switch unit.1 point -

Aug double trigger doodad and a MOSFET walk into a bar....
Egon_247 reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
On the gate mosfets (warfet, merf, nano etc) the wiring isnt that bad if your handy with a soldering iron. Basically you wire the two contact wires (small black plug) to one set of contacts, then link those to the second set of contacts in paralell so either contact sets the mosfet off. Then the motor is just wired to a deans plug which plugs directly into the mosfet. I'd advise against anything with active braking bar the warfet, as without adjustable precocking the active brake functionality can screw with the function of the cutoff (which is bad enough in a conventional pew let alone one with a rube golberg trigger mechanism). Took me longer than i like to admit realising thats what was causing the endless semi lockups on me f20001 point -

So if it's like the TM, it will look like the attached. Essentially the box is in permanent semi auto because it's got a cut off lever, but no fire selector plate on the side of the gearbox to hold it out of the way. To get round this, they have the second external set of contacts you can see in that picture. When the cut off lever disengages the first set of contacts, you can pull further back and make the connection via the second set, giving full auto. The problem I guess you've got with using a "standard" mosfet is lack of being able to select fire mode. I have no idea what the effect of wiring it up to one or the other set of contacts would be. Kind of does my head in a bit trying to think about it...1 point

Aug double trigger doodad and a MOSFET walk into a bar....
Egon_247 reacted to Jamsandwich for a topic
Yeah, I just splashed out cos I got sick of having to apologise after accidentally sending off a few more shots than intended. The option to lock to semi or even burst or binary now is awesome. My AUG is the only RIF I use so happy to spend a little more (considering I've had it 15 years or so!). Good luck with your install anyway.1 point -

Archer reacted to Jamsandwich for a topic
I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but I'm a bit of a noob and other more experienced people here could probably give you a direct answer. With that said, I did recently fit the Perun AUG mosfet to my old TM AUG. I got rid of the trigger bar completely (now magnetic trigger) but not sure what you mean by the cut off lever. Perhaps you could post a picture of what you have. Also, this Youtube vid might help. He breaks into the gearbox around 11 mins or so -1 point -
Yeah, I had a beta prototype version of it.. can't remember the name of it now. But essentially was a tracer with a lead running back to the 3D printed peq box that had a speaker mounted in the top and took a micro SD card full of audio files. Really wanted to build a pulse rifle with the iconic squawk of the colonial marines blasting away. Ended up selling it to someone on here though1 point

The Wehrmacht uniform?! That's one of those quite specific kinks 😉1 point -
I can't really recommend any brands or models--what's available is dependent on your country, and what you have locally. You can pretty much stabilize any way you want. You just need to create a solid interface between the inner barrel and the solid suppressor. I've done it with tape around the inner barrel, a rubber fitting, and some other DIY methods. I should also mention, you can more easily stabilize the inner barrel within the outer barrel using scotch tape or Teflon tape, which can save you some trouble when stabilizing inside the suppressor.1 point

I guess I should add what I have too... pretty basic & looking for ideas, that's why I posted the thread. P90, various MP5's - Stargate Kriss Vector, MP5, UMP - Total Recall2 MAC11, M16A1, MP5, UMP, G36C - Total Recall1 Thompson 1928 (replica)- Star Trek (google it lol) Han Solo's Blaster (lego) - Star Wars Prob plenty more but Han Solo's Blaster is the only "made for the movie" weapon I have that's not standard spec. Awesome, I never knew that.1 point -
A HWS M2019 is my grail rif too @Skullchewer I know someone who can get them quite easily but they're bloody expensive. And I'm not overly thrilled with the build quality of HWS. The one I was most happy with was this DH17 with a genuine singlepoint oeg and block of milled aluminium on the front that I made on a lathe.1 point

Seal could maybe be better: I've seen a super-spicy 1.3J out of an "M100" spring, stock plastic CYMA piston/head/nozzle, and a 229mm ZCI barrel just by lucking out on the airseal. What you've got is fine though, as long as its consistent - that's what really matters, rather than chasing 5m more ultimate range but being all over the place. One thing though, you might see some Joule creep with heavier BBs. I'd recommend chronoing with the BB weight that you intend to use, and some hop applied, unless your site is still chronoing like it's 1999 using 0.2g BBs.1 point -

ETU to fit an AEG
AirSniper reacted to Speedbird_666 for a topic
The Specna Flex shares the same gearbox as the CORE line - which in turn is a very generic bog standard V2 gearbox. Perun have their own instruction video to cover it. Bear in mind you might end up paying a tech more than the gun's worth to have the work done (ETU + hourly tech charge). If you are desperate for and ETU-equipped gun, and cannot do the work yourself, you might be better off selling the Flex and buying a gun with an ETU equipped out of the box - like a Double Eagle M9xx series.1 point -
