    Gun picture thread

This has been on ongoing project since about November. Finally wrapped up late last week and running absolutely phenomenally over the weekend 👌🏻.

  2. Big fan of Geoff's .30s for my MWS, in bio and non-bio flavours. Also get good results from .32g ASG Open Blasters.

  3. I run exclusively GBBRs and G&G are excellent as are Geoff's. Just don't use Bios (they are a con anyway). Not used Umarex. Guarder BB's are a good stand in when I can't find G&G or Geoff's. This really isn't the case. AEGs will pretty much accept any rubbish. GBBRs need harder, heavier BBs.

    FedEx f****ry

Word to the wise.... Fed ex and TNT are merging, but they haven't updated their paperwork. I've just spent and exhausting 45 minutes going round in circles trying to find out what was going on and pay for a invoice for shipping some work related stuff from Poland. Turns out my invoice with FedEx all over it, actually comes from TnT. However they don't seem to have an online payment portal and i couldn't get out the Indian call centre whether or not the BACs details on the invoice are correct. Bloody Brexit. What a shyte idea that was! None of this was even a consideration before that omnishambles.

  5. Another vote for Geoffs. I run them in my GBBR's and pistols ,I do use the Bio ones though . I find that .30's give me a good ratio of performance in the GBB's and price .

    What have you made?

Spent a few days to find a solution and closest one was 200 pound wall unit which you can see it in shops so I said fuck it I will build my own. Ordered some pegboards from ikea and liberated some timber from my workplace. I don't know how stable is I may die in my sleep when it falls apart. 🤣

  11. Picked up a CA53 from @VonGrimm and he was very honest in his description. After a bit of work she's looking a bit better. Just need to sort out the gearbox issue once the part arrives and I might replace the CA Mosfet with a NanoAAB I've got here sitting doing nothing. Before: After: Based on a HK53A2 I fondled in Iraq belonging to the RMP CP teams. I also took a bit of time and gave the XM177 PTW a bit of a service.

  13. https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/airsoft_i45974 Be advised there is a scam seller trying to sell an MP5 using an old photo from one of my sales. I’ve seen it on Used Airsoft, but don’t know if it’s anywhere else. They’ve photoshopped the name. I’ve added my picture below to confirm. The post has now been removed, but I think the name was William O’Connor, or something like that. Name was obviously photoshopped.

  14. I run the same brand BBs in all my guns, because good quality BBs are good quality BBs. I tend to use .32s (in almost everything) and .48s (in my 2.3J bolt actions). Brands I tend to use are Longbow, Geoffs, BLS and ASG Open Blaster (only .32s in those though)

  15. So Teams are for the most part not a thing in Airsoft. More like loose groups of friends that form naturally through regular play at the same site. It is also highly unlikely that any established "Team" that you're thinking of will take on a complete newbie. It's very common for people to go on their own at first and gain friends by becoming a regular.

  16. CQB game a few weeks ago, love keeping it simple / comfy and besides the Airsoft specific items, it costs nout as I already own it. - MP5SD, 3 spare mags in front pocket. - Tagg grenade in each rear pocket. - Peltors, delta Mike face pro, cap. - Lucas Botkin approved skinny jeans. - Rab Xenair Jacket - Vans

  18. I've been using The Odin LEP for over a year now, so know a little about its capabilities. It's a great unit, if a little specialised. I run it purely for night airsoft, in conjunction with bino NVG's and a Jerry C5 thermal ecoti overlay. I don't run an IR laser, and just use passive aiming with a Eotech XPS3. On the rare occasions I use white light the LEP is pretty devastating, and wipes out the targets natural night vision, or causes their NOD's to autogate. You can get this effect with many weapon lights, but the Odin LEP really spotlights the target at medium to long airsoft ranges. It's especially useful for designating targets to other team members, whether they have NOD's or not. It reminds me of a stage follow spot in a theatre. The light isn't a nice white high colour temperature, but more of a piss coloured yellow, which is disappointing, but acceptable. It's not so great at short distances, as you can struggle to cover the whole target with the spot of light. It's also pretty bulky, much more so than a Surefire Scout for example. Battery life is very good, as are the mounting options, remote switch and value. It's also great at reducing spill from your firing position, if you can mount it as far forwards as you can. I've had it shone at me whilst messing about, and I didn't go blind - I think it's safe. I have seen brighter torches, and I am more concerned over the various Russian lasers and full power IR designators out there damaging peoples eyes and kit. It emits light at a frequency we can see and react to by shutting our eyes, unlike IR/red/green lasers. It's a cool airsoft toy, but not really a game changer, IMHO. I'm lucky and daft enough to enjoy all of my NVG kit, but none of it is guaranteed 'pay to win' when up against decent teamwork and moderate NOD's/thermals.

  20. They absolutely can be used as weapon lights and are being sold as such, but my point was that unless you're trying to hunt small game in the woods at night, such a tight beam is a bit pointless.

  21. It's the sector gear, not the piston

  22. I understand torches in darkened CQB hallways etc (even then power should be restricted), but intentionally dazzling people in woodland games is considered airsoft now?

  23. Which you'll be testing by staring directly at it before pointing it at anyone else. I'd check with your local site(s) before committing, as this seems like the sort of thing that's going to get banned as soon as some 14 year old gets dazzled and runs square into a door.

    TM MP5 NGRS Owners

Not all of them do. TM's are often optimised for 0.25's. Its kinda luck of the draw if they lift a .28g My MWS's nub was so squishy, it would hardly lift a 0.28. I had it torn down the first week I owned it to replace the nub for a solid H style one.

  27. So Camelot was certainly ‘a thing’. The first hour or so of Saturday was great, the rest of the day was… pretty shite. The age old story of too many players and a grinding stalemate that resulted in nothing much happening… for a further 2 hours. And the reward for that in the afternoon? A reverse of the same game. Woo. Sunday (today) saw many players leaving due the general not so great experience from the day prior which led to far better flow. The games being a defenders hold and fall back versus attackers. Again, the afternoon saw this reversed which given how enjoyable the morning was I was happy to see. I’d defended in the morning, I generally prefer attacking. My newly jazzed up MCX was a monster all weekend, so thanks very much Dave if you happen to read this. With how well that was performing the weekend could have been a total wash and I’d likely still come away with a smile on my face. As ever, the folks I played had a huge amount to do with everything good that came from the weekend. For those that care, I’m third in from the left. Playing surrounded by giants, I’m bang on 6’ for reference.

  32. Not personally a tracer fan, but I do have the extended inner+outer barrel combo that was sold briefly a long while back inside my PTS FPG and it'd make sense to do that in the Aegis too for sure. Thanks for the reminder.

    What have you made?

Been working on this rheinmetall lm vampir peq box as no one seems to make one in airsoft and its for my new KS-1 Build Currently in the phase 1 of testing sizes and diamentions and going to be fitting the guts of an LA5 inside it Last photo is the first attempt on my KAC Also working on a sound distraction device, insert a particular "personal alarm" into my shell, press the button, throw it in a room and watch everyone wonder WTF is going on as you breach and shoot them all

  35. Yes, the slider style hop units in particular tend to have a significant impact on velocity; more hop = less velocity.

long time project AEG. CYMA 0.28 Type 3 AK47. This is the recoil model similar to the TM NGRS AK's. externally it has some Inokatsu laminated furniture worn naturally and the magazine is a RS slab slided early AK mag modified for a midcap internals. Internally it is running a Leviathion V3 and ZCI 400mm inner barrel and Maple Leaf Mr Hop (50).

  38. The last piece of the puzzle now arrived. A custom made full steel accurate L7A2 barrel to finish off my steel L7A2 gpmg. Just need to get it engraved with the original Enfield markings, and to get it altered to take the original inokatsu hop unit. Now going to convert my old barrel into the newer type HK L7 barrel, and to use to replicate blank use too.

This was what I wanted to copy - except I didn’t like the silver CTM grips hence went black. (This gun shop in Florida was bigger than most Tesco in the Uk)

The only problem with these is people will think they're nicked from a base rofl. In some of your other close up shots I could just about see the tiny things that show they're airsoft iirc, but if you showed 99% of small arms qual'd service members these pics they'd assume they're real, and not just real but been in an armoury rotation/active use for 35 years+. The worn paint pen, dymo labels and athena tags are a crazy good combo in terms of replication.
