To DMR or not to DMR
RostokMcSpoons and 3 others reacted to Lozart for a topic
Just to chip in, I'd 100% back up the Cyma M14 route. I have a completely bog standard Cyma M14 Socom (albeit with some cosmetic tweaks) that regularly outranges its price! Last time out, using 0.28s it was getting sufficient range that even the marshals commented on just how far I was hitting with it. They can be a bit heavy if you're used to M4s and the like, the SOCOM is probably the best balanced, the full length one can be a bit unwieldy and the EBR is heavier than a heavy thing and completely front end biased. Worth a try if you know someone that might give you a lend for a game though.4 points -

Specna are OK at the moment. G&G are solid choices, with decent plastic, but are woefully short on features given their current prices. A QC spring is a deal breaker for me now, in any commodity AEG. If it were my money, with polymer as a requirement, I'd go Double Eagle M9xx.3 points -

If something that's effectively an M4, but looks a little different with its front end / cosmetics then how about... https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/double-eagle-m916g-utr556?pv=17878 ... at only £170? Everything about its internals is M4 / AR15, but it looks a little different from everything else for a bit of variety, and you get the Falcon controller with it's optical trigger + cycle control etc.. As long as the OP already has batteries with deans connectors, or has an adapter, all it needs is an ML Macaron 60 degree swopped in and it's ready for anything.2 points -
If people like you didn't we wouldn't have gotten the M733 and M14 from TM! Trying to think of all the craze weapons now. There was the blackhawk down stuff. Classic army m15cqbr builds. I remember that having the magic gearbox (apparently). Western arms infinity race guns.2 points

OP wants a new front end/cosmetics. I advised that the existing gun isn't worth upgrading due to the mediocrity of construction from King Arms. Everything is plastic - down to the buffer tube, outer barrel/front sight and controls. For £200 I would be looking at - ICS CXP-16 (£175ish from Fire-Support) - Double Eagle M9xx(£150-190ish depending on model from various vendors) - Maybe a Specna CORE model with a rail system of your liking, along and with upgraded motor and hop rubber/nub There are loads of other options, the above are just the ones off the top of my head.2 points -
I started in 2001, when I went a bit nuts with the whole Black hawk down look at that time. It is amazing how technology has improved the guns and gadgets in airsoft. I have definitely calmed down over the years with buying all sorts to start off with just because it was the “thing” at that time. This is apparent seeing new airsofters now. After going through the M4, HK phases, I’m more than happy with my limited gear and load out, which works for me.2 points

THE TM MWS thread
werkzeug and one other reacted to SilentSparky for a topic
Played my first game with my newly purchased MWS, first move to GBBR from an AEG. My play style needs some adapting, trying to suppress doesn't work to well with limited ammo, I was bingo ammo on a defend game and going toe to toe with high capped AEG's at an auto site felt like I was at a massive disadvantage. I need to learn gassing the mags better, first use of the day they were all fine, regassing/loading between games was a bit hit and miss if I'd filled enough to empty a mag, also the bolt didn't always lock back, but I put that down to not enough gas? I used 0.30g bb's, range was around 50/60m I would say, from the Chrono station. Magpuls whilst nice and I thought would offer some drop protection for the mags, get in the way of the fill valves, so need to come off I think. Overall, I liked the immersion of the platform though and look forward to using it again.2 points -

Acetach Blaster Review
Kevin Chang reacted to NeonMidnight for a topic
So I have had the Acetach Brighter C for a while. It was definitely worth the money and lived up too the reputation. I show up to every game knowing I have the brightest tracer there. Other than just being cool it makes it easy to see my BBs when several people are firing at the same time. Muzzle flash tracers have become really popular and most people at my site. So I decided to go in for the upgrade and just got the Blaster in the post yesterday. It comes with a standard 14mm CCW thread and a 11mm pistol adapter in the box. The construction is really good. Its feel a lot better built than my old tracer and is made of some kind of strong metal alloy. I don't doubt that it will take some hits without breaking. I really like the aggressive but stealthy design. It's also still surprisingly light and small and doesn't really affect my speed and manoeuvrability. Just like the Brighter C this comes with an internal battery and a USB charging cable. I really hope this is the future for all attachments. Its so much easier than trying to keep hard to find batteries around. I'm defiantly willing to pay for the feature. When you unscrew the back you find the USB charging port and a small button. The button can be used to turn the tracer on and off as well as as change the firing mode. The Blaster also comes with a sleep mode to save on power when you are not using it. You just shake to unit to wake it up. There are 3 firing modes. Tracer, Flame and Tracer & Flame mode. So you can just use the tracer or muzzle flash separately if you wish. The tracer like with all Acetech stuff is very bright. Just as bright as the Brighter C. I do like shooting green blots of lightning. The muzzle flash in Flame mode is this nice realistic bright orange. Apparently it gets even brighter when you use it with a gas pistol or in a foggy situation. Using the Tracer with the Flame mode together is amazing. I had loads of fun just firing rounds off last night in the dark. I can't wait to take it too a dark game and really see what it's like in combat. I really like the look, weight and small size. Perfect for me as I play a lot of QCB. The internal battery is a luxury I'm starting to feel like I can't do without. Then actually using it it just fun and outright cool. I would defiantly recommend it for any player and will be keeping it for a while.1 point -

She wasn’t a prostitute (angry cop does clarify that part way through the video - but possibly needed to start with that theme to illustrate a point) There are a few leaks / or releases of information on the whole subject. I believe that the first outing was the ‘leak’ of a social media message that a large number of personnel have had to be advised to pop to the clinic, due to an individual who had been signed into camp numerous times (31 sound familiar?) Then the videos appeared (either due to circulation that eventually ends up in a leak or due to the attention from the leaked message and getting their 15 minutes of fame) The videos have nothing ‘wrong’, but distribution/publishing without permission could be an offence, otherwise it’s just bad privacy & ‘bringing into disrepute’ But the outcome of their being pulled from deployment is not purely down to this incident. Theres more to it from previous issues in the unit, and unless the letter was officially released CGSs letter has also been leaked to the public domain1 point -

They were indeed awesome. I was there in Coventry with my brother, we booked our tickets originally in 2020, but had to wait for the rescheduled dates. Before that, (and pandemic) I went to see Rammstein at MK Don's stadium in Milton Keynes in 2019. In December 2019 I went to Sweden for the Sabaton Cruise... the band hired out an entire cruise ship, sold cabins to fans, then we sailed across the baltic from Stocholm to Tallinn on Estonia and back again (after a day in Tallinn) with a heavy metal concert on board in both directions, with a few different bands as support acts (names elude my memory, but I can look up pics later) I also went to Black Sabbaths final live show in Birmingham back on Feb 4th 2017. It was an amazing show, but also tinged with sadness, knowing that it was the final show. Black Sabbath was going to be my first ever live show, until at the last minute I saw tickets on sale to see Sabaton in London the week before... so for £30 plus my rail fare I went to see Sabaton as my first show1 point -

El_Reptile31 reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
How's the front sight? Does it look vertical and true? Have you tried removing and re-seating the rear to be sure that it's on squarely? If so, I'd secure the gun on a bench, tie a string to the rear sight peephole and run it in a straight line over the front sight post. Stand in front of the gun and see how well it lines up with the barrel. It'll only be approximate, but it might give you an idea if it's badly off. Worst case, you could throw on a red dot, unless the rail is wildly off from the barrel.1 point -

Some names ring bells there LOL. When the Wildhearts reformed in the 00's I remember sitting in our kitchen with Stidi, and bottle of gold tequila, some other questionable substances, helping him get the stops right in Caffeine Bomb. Having to listen to the drama's between minor (and occasionally middling) celebrities was at the same time amusing and tiring. Ginger being the instigator of many. Listened to a lot of Ramones and Tom Petty during those year too LOL1 point -
It's amazing what you used to get away with pre vcra. I remember going down to wolf armouries with a hard guitar case and buying whatever. Left the boxes in store and put them in the case as it was less obvious on the tube. Different times. Actually the ritual was walk in with my brother, try some stuff on the range, pop next door for an epic kebab and think. Then go back into wolf to purchase the one we chose. Good Times!1 point

Weirdly enough, I had one & it was awesome, only time it played up was when the trigger microswitch burnt out, apparently a very common problem, but a microswitch from maplins & 30 minutes fiddling & it never failed again. In fact I remember a game at Fort Amherst, 6 249's were in play, 5 lightweight stars that performed flawlessly & 1 CA heavyweight, & mid game the CA jammed on full auto, causing its owner to rip it open to remove the battery before the motor burnt out. BUT that owner was a guy affectionately known as the "Hand of M", a legendary tech🤣, any wonder it packed up😏1 point

THIS WILL NOT STAND. Marmite is manna of the Gods, a literal superfood with more vitamins and minerals than a branch of Holland and Barret. Sure it may be a bit potent for some - the kind of people who think a Korma is 'a bit spicy' - but for the rest of us who can eat things that aren't beige, it's a life-giving sticky syrup of nourishing goodness; a shining bright light in the condiment cupboard. Spread over some hot buttered toast or crumpets, Marmite says this: that now matter how bad things appear to be, no matter how low we feel, your mate Marmite will always be there for you. It is our port in the storm, and the light at the end of the tunnel. And your lack of gratitude for this frankly disgusts me. Mayonnaise on the other hand is the condiment of SATAN, and 99 times out of 100 is only added to a dish to camouflage the portion of baby gravy that a vengeful and underpaid chef has blurted into your food.1 point -
RIFs on a Plane
Sebza reacted to SerialNoodle for a topic
I recently came back from Poland with a RIF successfully. There are some things you shall have to consider, mainly that being the airline, where you're going to/coming from and who you ask. Some Airlines have a strictly no RIF policy, some allow them, some charge fees for transportation. What is normally requested is that the RIF is inside a hard case, which is securely locked. The RIF must not have the magazine inserted, nor should neither the RIF or magazine be loaded. I normally slightly disassemble my guns too. If you want to ask about it, don't ask the baggage people. It's always better to ask the security or put it through nothing to declare. Should they need to check it, allow them. They may ask more questions after you've passed the security point however you shouldn't normally be questioned- it depends entirely on who you go to and where you are. That's about it.1 point -

As one of the Yanks who was lounging around listening to Rolling Stones hits when you attacked I salute your efforts. I could not believe you'd got that close without anyone spotting you, and the woeful cry of "Medic" woke 1st Platoon from it's post-lunch slumber as we tried to work out what the hell was going on. Believe me we all got a telling off afterwards about inattentive sentries, which clearly didn't go in, as after we'd evited the NVA/VC from the Firebase later in the day, I made the mistake of standing in the open outside my bunker, only to hear a "ping" as a sniper shot bounced off my helmet, and watched our medic run straight past me... From the US point of view it was quite unnerving with all the hit and run tactics, but I did laugh at the number of times the VC attacked our position just at the point relief troops were being rotated in. If only you'd turned up a few minutes earlier we'd have been in serious trouble. As it was 1st Platoon was down to 3 men defending our radio mast at one point, having lost our officer and the radio guy, which made for an intense period waiting for our relief to turn up. Anyway I completely agree with all the sentiments. The gameplay was great and I'd thoroughly recommend these events just for the atmosphere and amazing effort put into the kits.1 point -

#NotAllHPAUsers I feel called out by the title 😐. In short, that guy is a cretin. Even if it was two guys it would be wrong, because you should never go for blows over BB wars, but the fact he goes in swinging on a woman is plain despicable. However, she is also partially in the wrong for spamming all those shots at his face at point blank range. Also, the guy recording is really slow to get involved. He should've jumped in there immediately to separate the two, but he just stands there and lets the assaulter swing a bunch before limply pulling the guy away. Literally all three people in this video are at fault and I hate it.1 point -
