There needs to be a sticky for this info 🙈 MODS FOR RELIABILITY; >Quality armourers wrench. >Spare nozzle spring - the original one will last a very long time but will fatigue eventually. (DP are good spares). >Spare nozzle in case you get a stoppage or some freak breakage. >Spare bucking. >A SixG HSB to protect the buffer part ‘b’. >TechT GunSav lube for O rings - the gun needs lubing daily. >Parker Hale gun oil for everything else. >Categorically no Angry Gun or Nuprol parts. (Nuprol gas is OK) >Feed it quality ammo. >Keep it clean. You can use any gas you like with a HSB installed. It will handle it all, you may just need to adjust the buffer tube for reliable lock on empty with powerful gases. MODS FOR UPGRADE; >A lightweight bolt - only necessary if you want even faster cycle time and/or play in Sub 10c temperatures a lot. >SixG Super Nub for range and accuracy. >Bucking TM, Modify Tan, or Maple MR 50d (needs mod to fit) >370mm barrel and for big FPS/DMR use >NPAS if you need to control FPS more. >Trigger box work for crispest action, you will need a good 10,000 shots to bed all the parts in first though.5 points

Time for something a bit different? Kj Works KC02 in a Samson B-TM stock with custom turned tapered barrel, VSR hop and Rogueworx internals. How’s about a cheeky bit of Bullpup action too? GHK G5 in a SRU kit with a real Eotech 552 as the cherry on the top. I’ve got a HPA kit that lets me run AEG mags in it, but I’m way too lazy to fit it so I’ll be running a HPA drum mag on saturday5 points

How many stupid people does it take to change a light bulb? Five. One to stand on the stool and hold the bulb, the other four to turn the stool round. I went to give blood the other day. I'm not fricking doing it again. Just too many questions. Where did you get it from? Whose is it? Why is it in a bucket?4 points -
Going to be taking my son to his first game very soon, so rather than giving him a GBBR to use (not a great first skirmish choice) or my 416 which weighs a stack (and is also very expensive!) I used airsoft logic to treat him/myself to a new AEG; a Cyma AKS-74U. Looks and feels great, heavier than I thought though, but reviews are very good and should see him proud. The four mid-caps are more for me when I inevitably use it 😳4 points

Hello, just getting started
Tactical Pith Helmet and 2 others reacted to Floperator for a topic
Hello all. I'm new to skirmishing but have had airguns and airsoft guns for years, sometimes shoot clays and centrefire. I occasionally do IPSC practical pistol with my TM Hi Capa. Had my first Skirmish in August 2020 at (I think?) RIFT and had an absolutely immense amount of fun. Finally getting to my 2nd, long overdue skirmish this weekend at Airsoft Plantation and looking forward to ending up a fat sweating wheezy mess by the end of it. Will be taking my Lancer Gen2 M4, WE Galaxy G, and Cyma P90 (which is kinda shite I know but there as backup). Still fiddling with kit setup but I get the impression this will never really stop... Looking forward to talking with you all and picking your brains over all kinds of technical stuff - I'm used to working on airguns but gearboxes, MOSFETS etc. is all new to me. Due to lack of use I'm selling my TM Recoil/L119a1. Upgrades include: Prometheus piston head Prometheus spring guide Prometheus cylinder head Prometheus air nozzle Prometheus cylinder type A Eagle6 M100 spring TM RAS set Laylax metal lower receiver - blank version that was then custom engraved BTC Spectre (not bluetooth) Also includes the ACOG with wing mount, genuine Surefire Scout, 9 mags and 5 batteries that fit in the PEQ. Issues I'm aware of are the mag stop on empty isn't working and the front end needs tightening, has a bit of a wobble. My technical expertise ends after filling the mag and changing the battery so I've not attempted to resolve either issue. The Spectre is currently set to single and 3 round burst and overall it's a lovely bit of kit with great range. I'm based in Bishops Stortford (CM23) and happy to deliver or meet as long as it's not too far. Happy to answer any questions. Thanks Rob£650

M4 mags, why don't they all just get along???
Jacob Wright and one other reacted to RostokMcSpoons for a topic
Initial tests of the Lonex flash mags that arrived this morning are... good! They fit and feed fine in the Tippmann, they're a little tight in the Double Eagle (but that has a velcro shim to make my cheap old high caps fit nicely) but shoot perfectly, and they fit fine in the F2000 and the L85 as well... (though I can't test those as neither of them can actually pew at the moment)2 points -
Ahoy and welcome. Yes, it's a blast. Don't eat the BBs, even the tasty looking yellow 0.12g. Nothing wrong with any of those choices, and CYMAs are fine. They used to be regarded as cheap tat until folk realised that they're cheap because they make so many of them, not because they don't know what they're doing. You can pay a lot more for worse internals. How are you doing for batteries? The CYMA comes with a nimh, but I wouldn't invest any more money in that technology, either in batteries or chargers. Lithium based is the way to go now, either lipo, or li-ion, and we like the SkyRC S65 chargers.2 points

Modding for reliability and durability?
Cr0-Magnon and one other reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
True to the above, although I'd note that if the goal of "durability and reliability" is to reduce costs, that there's little point in replacing a part that isn't already worn or broken. The very cheapest mosfets cost more than multiple sets of trigger contacts. Unless you're running 11.1V (and even if you are) you're likely to relegate a starter AEG to a backup role before you burn out the contacts. And CYMA put plastic racked pistons into toys putting out 1.5J as stock. They won't strip straight away on stock gears and motors. So there's no need to really do anything other than sort the factory shimming and snot-grease lube. And even then, I've yet to buy an AEG with bad shimming, even the cheapest CYMA or Galaxy. Those Chinese child labourers know their business (if they want to eat).2 points -

What's the next step to upgrading my currently stock AEG?
george1976 and one other reacted to ak2m4 for a topic
My advice is put the M90 back in and just play with it for a few games. Go and watch some upgrade video's on YT, so many great resources out there. Lot of people rush into upgrades but only end up breaking their only AEG. You say you want a DMR, would this be a 2nd AEG or are you planning on converting the CORE?2 points -

Nick G and one other reacted to Badgerlicious for a topic
Unless you're going for a dmr you'll want to test that on a chrono. An m115 spring is going to be hot, unless you have the leakiest gun in the land. Edit: and yes, get a chrono. It's the #1 thing you need when tuning your own gun.2 points -

Yeah the others are KA knockoffs & are cheaper, but not so much that they're worth taking a risk on. I meant the srs & ssg stuff are lots more pennies. Alternatively, did I see a cyma SVD springer ?, that I'd consider 🤔 EDIT Cyma is an aeg, but A&k do a springer also, unsure how workable the internals are ? (someone will know😏)1 point

For that money you could buy an upgraded NGRS second hand by KOA for example. Or get over the fps - like banging head against a wall - TM work very well, you can always upgrade it, or buy it upgraded from somewhere like FireSupport or DCA with an M100, gear set and deans conversion, really not that spendy. IMO other than stealth and spastic ROF I really don’t rate HPA that highly. A decent AEG is the best assualter. Adecent GBBR best realism and easy performance… MWS!? BASR or HPA sniper best long range gun. The NGRS is the cheapest to run, most reliable and consistent all year round. The Scar, 416 and M4 are the best performing. If you did the 3 basic mods above, that’d be 330-340 fps. Run a G&G green and Super Nub will get you a very nice 55M with 0.28s If you want more then up the road Rhop it to see 65M range. If your frugal n your play style then the MWS is a very satisfying RIF to use.1 point

Specifically the Kings Arms? I ask because there's also an AGM: https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/agm-svd-m-bolt-action-sniper-rifle And a KOER: https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/koer-svd-bolt-action-sniper-rifle The AGM admits to being a meaty old lad to straight pull, and I suspect the KOER will likely be much the same, "Easy straight pull design" claims to the contrary. SVDs are an interesting option, but long + stronk is the opposite of what I'm looking for. I'm circling around to SRS A2s which offer short and stout (cylinders) with a reportedly easier pull. Although it's hard to find arguments against the SSG10, apart from the marketing wankery.1 point

I've heard that the Silverback HTI has a really nice bolt pull due to the stupidly large cylinder volume. It's certainly one of those rifles that i'd really like to own one day and it seems to perform pretty well by all accounts.1 point -
Modding for reliability and durability?
Rogerborg reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
for the most pews i'd say that the overwhelming proportion of reliability issues stem from 2 primary causes: 1. mistakes in assembly, most often caused by the person doing it being inexperienced (been there, done that, still have my collection of stripped pistons) 2. attempting to push unrealistic performance, most commonly trying to push the rate of fire too hard (also been there, done that, it's about half my collection of stripped pistons) the easiest way to avoid both of these issues is simply don't fuck with a working gun. there is one exception to this rule and that's mosfets, without any kind of mosfet on an aeg over time the contacts will either carbon up, or with a powerful enough battery burn out. a simple basic mosfet (i generally use the nanoasr for this purpose, other mosfets are available) will remedy this for the long term. now granted certain guns can have very specific points of failure, notably weak parts or bad design choices etc, but it's still easier to wait until it breaks for sure before messing with it. one thing to bear in mind is that strengthened parts (eg: steel rack pistons) can have indirect consequences, where a plastic piston might wear-into it's preferred aoe or strip when overloaded a stronger part can push that elsewhere so instead of a stripped piston you might find the bevel eats itself instead.1 point -
Check shimming, check for any snagging of moving parts (nozzle, piston, tappet plate), good neo magnets motor or brushless. Check and fix air leaks. Replace the piston if needed and every worn part. Done, really.1 point

What's the next step to upgrading my currently stock AEG?

The only thing I would change from the outset would be the stock motor, swapping it for an SHS/Rocket Hi-torque. I would leave everything else as-is, and give the barrel a good clean. And fucking around with springs without a chrono is a really bad idea.1 point -

Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to Oneshotscott for a topic
£18 walk on at adrenalin, £10 for members with No food (option to purchase after safety briefing). I think this is great value for a site of its size and the construction work. I looked on playairsoft yesterday to see what sites are in the south Yorkshire area (visiting) and the majority are asking for £30 walk on. I would be happy to pay between £1-30 for a std skirmish.1 point
