That's like saying you have a driving license so it's fine to go everywhere at 100. Try this for the frequencies though. Gives the PMR you shoudl be using and the CTCS subs as well (don't use them as they're pointless) https://www.v-strom.co.uk/downloads/PMR.pdf2 points

It's flipped outboard in the pics, will line up fine. Definitely interesting; have to say all 3 of my TM SOCOMs which are all very old at this point (and all my airsoft ARs in fact) use single point slings at the base of the buffer tube so I don't think it's necessarily endemic if you just treat the airsoft gun the way you should treat an airsoft gun vs dropping it so the sling catches it and takes all of the weight, but no denying that spreading the weight across 2 areas does halve the forces imparted on each.2 points

Thanks guys. I know I can't legally use em but my thinking is that by reducing the output with a crappy antenna there's less chance of drawing attention to their use. Well, the V-Strom Freq are the same as the Analogue 12.5kHz channel spacing so I guess I'll stick to those 😉 I can understand why you might want some channels open so you can communicate with others on side while also being able to keep to only squad level on others. Would have to be organised beforehand of course. I don't expect to rely on radios at all but I couldn't resist £17 for both 😏1 point

Most likely the digital frequencies. You will need to programme them to the frequencies you intend to use. Note that you can’t legitimise the 888s by using a lesser aerial or due to the site having a licence. They are capable of going outside of PMR frequencies and power levels so are not PMR legal, and you only fall within the sites licence if you have permission and programme to their frequencies However the odds of getting caught are virtually nil1 point

Had a few NGRS in with cracked lowers in for repair (as shown in the pic and other along the red line) both using one point slings, I think you are right to go with a two point. Much less likely to hit you in the nads to. From a clone of the ones in use by US folks - I would add witness marks on all the screws (I like a blue paint pen). I would keep the stock and drill a hole in each of the battery caps then run some para cord/shock cord through the hole and the caps. Have you tried flipping the front iron around? Easier to open and can push the laser a few slots forward. I see a lot of these in photos with CAG with 416s https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003075002123.html? from reading the gun forums it sits the optics slightly higher and seems to hold zero if taken off. Although the KAC NT4 was around, very rare if ever to see one in such pristine shape, would beat the hell out of it and fry it with a blow torch or swap it for a Surefire RC2 and hide an ACETECH tracer in it. Hope you have lots of fun with the it!1 point -
I’ve noticed one more thing with your setup. Is your magnifier in direct line of sight to your red dot? The magnifier seems a tad low? Are you getting a clear vision of the red dot through it and not getting any of the red dot’s housing? . And a good point made by our colleague above about the sling. Get a decent one.1 point

The TM sling point at the base of the buffer tube should be fine but good lord buy a better sling, you've spent a fortune on that gun total and the cheapest thing on the entire list is the one thing that's stopping it dropping and getting utterly fucked by a paving slab. 1 or 2 point is all preference, just buy a quality one, nothing from nuprol is worth a 2nd glance but 'real' slings (anything you can get on tactical-kit) are one of the cheapest things you can get in airsoft that pay huge dividends in return. Any Magpul Industries style magazine you can get at retail now is of unlicensed chinese manufacture, but maybe you can find the PTS EBB PMAGs 2nd hand. Some chinese stuff will be fine ofc but the PTS EPMs are the best quality I know of in the realm of airsoft bb feeding devices. Depends if you want the more realistic look at the possible cost of some durability and reliability. Every SF guy and top end competition shooter or otherwise legit knowledgeable person I've ever seen, heard or spoken to puts their red dot optics somewhere right above the magazine. It's all a balance; further back means more view through the optic but more of the housing and less of your surroundings - further forward means less view through but less of the housing and more of the surroundings. Most people with enormous amounts of competitive and combat experience are all in agreement and all go for roughly the same place which is in the region of 2-4 rail slots further forward than you have it right now; not that it matters at airsoft distances but whatevs. If you are using the magnifier of course then you just have to set that wherever you can actually use it depending on its' eye relief and where you set your stock, then obviously bring the dot optic butted right up against the magnifier, no way around that.1 point

so, a quick sand and the hop up fits. On first test, it lost 100fps.... not sealing around the nozzle. Greased up the interface where the hopup joins the gearboc and boom, 330fps. Thats a 30fps gain from putting a 340mm barrel in place of a 210mm barrel in what was a CM raider.1 point

That’s a good point you’ve made about where to place the red dot and how muscle memory plays a part in acquiring the target when you look through the red dot. I only use real steel optics on my replicas and the placement varies depending on the sight and furniture attached. If I’m using my 3xmag then my T1 is above the Magwell on the upper receiver as that’s only place I can fit it. If I’m using no magnification then the optic is closer to the back of the receiver. @Belphe On the topic of sling point, the rear sling point on the TM is very good and strong. It’s made of steel. However to i’d also recommended a front RSA coz sometimes you just want to carry the rifle in a two point configuration. In fact I do that more than in single point mode.1 point

Sling point should be fine. Its well made. I have the FDE/bronze/RAL version myself. In terms of the sight placement, you are correct to place it further back. Ideally youll have it as far back as possible. Im a military/LEO firearms instructor stateside for background. Having the sight further back allows your eyes to focus though it, as opposed to on it. Similar to how your mind ignores your nose, despite the average schnozz being within view. Moving it forward makes it harder for your mind to ignore the physical sight and focus on your target - superimposing the dot (or circle plex in this case) over it. Furthermore, the G33 and G43 magnifiers tend to have relatively poor focal points, meaning they usually work poorly if not very close to the eye. Its better on the real ones, but not by much. Thats why most people skip magnifiers and instead of or systems like short dots or ELCANs which can be adjusted from 1x to whatever is desired (or 4x for the ELCAN). Ive mostly moved to ELCANs myself on both my airsoft replicas and my RS if Im not just using a dedicated 1x like an Eotech, Aimpoint, or Sig sight. Youll generally see sights put that far forward cause it looks cool in the movies, or I know some comp guys prefer it claiming they can acquire the sights faster - which is pointless if you have the built in muscle memory you should have from practicing with your gun.1 point -

This is too real. My "priority to buy" bookmark folder always gets almost empty and then I fill it back up again and suddenly I *need* all this extra stuff. That's exactly why I bought an M870 to go with my Pulse Rifle. I have it in a leather holster on my back too. *NEVER* used it outside of my back yard, but I feel cool with it so.1 point

What is the purpose of the brass ring and the spring in front of the hop-up?
george1976 reacted to Lozart for a topic
Hop rubbers will wear out from use before they crack through drying out. The only place you need to get any oil on is the OUTSIDE when you're putting it into the hop unit to help ease it in (if it's a bit tight). The main issue is that getting silicone oil INSIDE the hop rubber will screw up it's ability to properly apply spin to the BB which can result in shots going all over the place. Some folks maintain that you need to apply some silicone lube to your rubber to keep it supple, I'm not convinced. I've had airsoft guns since the original non-blowback TM Desert Eagle and the TM SPAS 12 were released back in the 90's and I can honestly say I've never needed to lube my hop rubber! Hop rubbers are a consumable item, they will wear and need replacing at some point, if a rubber is YEARS old and has sat doing nothing it may go stiff but at that point, throw it away and use a new one. Give you hop rubber a bloody good clean out with water and detergent, dry it off and see if you still have the inconsistency issues. Better yet, replace it with one that hasn't been dunked in oil.1 point -

Not always a downside. If you can't spend hours fucking about with rearranging pouches and falling down the rabbit hole of trying to find the exact PERFECT pouch for your specific widget then you'll be able to concentrate on just, y'know, having a life.1 point

Barrel was cleaned with 99.9 Isopropyl alcohol. Same for the bucking. Then I put the bucking a bit in silicone oil, to make sure is not dry. BBs used: 0.25g G&G PSBP (5.95 +/-0.01mm as i says on the bag) The sharp turns were happening rather randomly, not consistent in one direction. And slight hop-up adjustments would affect it in a considerable an unpredictable manner (eg, tightening it a bit would make it worse, but the tightening it again, would make it better...). For the hop-up, I wrapped some PTFE tape around the end of the bucking (making sure I don't get near the barrel window) and both under and on top of the ring a little bit, to ensure a snug fit. Then I gently pushed the hop-up chamber over the bucking and it didn't move anymore. Another thing I did was to add a bit of PTFE tape at the tip of the barrel,to make it fit better in the inner barrel. Of course there is still the issue of the inner barrel vibrating inside the outer... but this is something more difficult to deal with. All in all, now after the proper fit of the bucking and hop chamber the random deviations reduced visibly. The grouping is still bad (20cm at 30m shooting distance). Further suggestions? What guns are banned or over powered.
Fatboy40 reacted to Cr0-Magnon for a topic
This is not strictly true. You don't need to turn up to site with a two tone gun as no one is going to check your defence. It's on the person selling the RIF to you to check UKARA or other defence. Also power limits vary from site to site but are generally 350fps/1.14 joule for anything capable of full-auto. Providing it's a 6mm airsoft gun and within the sites stated limits, I'm not aware of anything which is actually banned. Maybe another forum member is though?1 point -

We bought a double bed and the seller send two beds instead of one. Contacted them and said ‘mate you have sent me the parts for two double beds here, do you want to come and get one?’ Seller agrees to rectify the issue... by sending me a further two double beds. Now with three double beds in the hallway I decided that rather than raise it a second time and risk more double beds in boxes and never being able to get out of the house again and I gave one to a mate, one to a charity shop and sold the last one.1 point -
Mws Vs Tipmann Vs Wolverine Mtw
GothicGhost reacted to alxndrhll for a topic
If you're running a tank and line whatever you go with I have a hard time not recommending a Billet series MTW. I've had two Billets and they've run great (both second hand), I picked up a Forged when they first came out because the quality of life changes seemed ace and I like having the 'proper' upper receiver. I can't recommend it though, not because I've had any issues thus far, just purely on the fact that Tier 3, Tier 4 and eventually lockdown happened so I haven't done any proper testing or played with it yet. I don't tend to give any recommendations/advice until I actually believe what I'm saying rather than allowing the 'hype' to overcome me. Worth noting I have zero knowledge or experience regarding the Tippman, though I can tell you anecdotally that I've seen a fair few go from the Tippman to the MTW and at least in terms of performance the MTW seems to be seen as an upgrade. Take that as you will, as I say, anecdotal.1 point -
