Unfortunately NOT everyone is so blessedly lucky like you and has a shop on their doorstep , there are no shops in South Wales at all , the nearest shop to me is over a 3hrs drive and when I did go there it turned out to be a piss poor one at that(and to really put the cherry on top the thing I went for and had been told was in stock wasn’t) .I do buy most of my guns in the U.K. I’m not that naive ! but if it’s not in stock anywhere over here am I expected to go without what I want because no one in the U.K. has it ? Yea right ! We’re not just talking about a ‘couple of coins’ ! we’re talking substantial differences in price , I’m sorry but if I can get a box of a particular type of mag from HK for £42 posted and the same one in the U.K. is £67+P&P and that’s if it’s even in stock , well I’m sorry but you can stuff the poor little U.K. retailers I’m not spending £25+ extra to fly the flag . And when one of the supposedly ‘top 3’ retailers in the country takes a substantial amount of money off you to upgrade a new gun before delivery and you later discover they used substandard parts and thats why your gun imploded 6mths later I call that poor customer service wouldn’t you ? Or another classic I’ve had happen i buy a gun and after I paid for this ‘in stock’ I received an email saying it’s actually on back order ? Yea that’s shit customer service as far as I’m concerned , products listed as in stock but you only discover its out of stock when you try to put the bloody thing in your basket ? that’s shite service . If you really must sit on your moral high horse and pass judgment on others then feel free too but please keep it to your self there’s a good chap . Remember this is just your opinion , and as we all know an opinion is like an arsehole , everyone has one and there frequently full of shit ? Live long and prosper .😉4 points

Nope sorry can't understand it.🤔 You are basically helping towards the demise of your own country for for the sake of a few coins. For me I like being able to go to my local airsoft shop and looking around, going hands on and buying if I like and being assured that if it goes wrong I can just take it back. I don't know about you but I have never had bad customer service when face to face. OK so you save a few bob but what happens when all our local suppliers are forced out of business through lack of support, your overseas suppliers will Cotton on and have you over a barrel( no pun intended) Give your business to this country and small independent suppliers or loose them ☹3 points

Greetings all! Returning player here from over 12 years ago. Used to frequent the ZeroIn forums under the username Intervention - I've already recognised one or two usernames from there. Apparently, I had an account here also, but must have forgotten about it. So much has changed in the world of airsoft, it's mad. From the return of HPA (They were all but phased out when I first started) to the rise of youtuber wannabes haha Experienced bolty "bush wookie" player, but will dabble in different gameplay styles when I'm bored.. So, cheers and see you in my crosshairs! 🍻2 points

I had a surprise airsoft day today at a totally new site. Was literally their first game and the first time I've gone to a site (in the UK) that isn't Worthing! 😮 I was down at S.W.A near Hailsham and it was grand. No site knowledge meant I really had to play carefully, and the wind and torrential rain weren't helping me with my bolt action VSR (the number of shots I watched whizz off to the side...). It was a pretty one-sided day though, since our team was playing aggressive and I think a lot of the other people on site were new, while our team had a coordinated team, with some ex-forces guys, making up the core of it. My highlights for the day were: An enemy sniper running up to take cover behind the tree I was sitting in front of without noticing me sitting in front of it with my russian leafy hood thing up. I turned with the mk23 and he tried to say "bang" while his hand wasn't even on the trigger of his rifle (was carrying it at the front of the stock) and there were no bang rule on site, as said in the safety brief. Plus, MED is a thing, so I just shot with the mk23. I'd have been slightly (not much) more inclined to take the bang kill anyway if it wasn't clear he was initially oblivious to my presence. A "mom, get the camera!" moment where a large squad of 8 managed to flank around our team to the objective. I waited for them to get in positions where I could shoot them and just started picking them off. With how quiet the HPA VSR is, none of them knew where the shots were coming from and I took out 6 of them before some of our team's respawns came in and mopped up the rest. Spent the rest of that game behind various tree stumps in the middle of the field and I think I got something like 15 kills in that game since they never pinpointed me, but kept moving past me so I could shoot them in the side and back, which never happens with a boltie! I'm usually lucky to get 5 kills in a game! Hitting someone in the helmet with the VSR (2.3J on .48s!), the satisfying "dink", the recoil of the head from the impact and... then him not taking the hit. 🤣 The only downside of the day was... me being on a keto diet and the lunch they served was bangers, mash and beans. I watched enviously as my team mates devoured their mashed potatos and beans while I was munching on my sausages 😭 On the whole, I really enjoyed the change of scenery. The site has some teething issues, which I'd expect from a first ever game, but I think with more time and more skirmish weekends it could end up being a fantastic site.2 points

Apology happily accepted , it did even after re-reading in the soggy light of day come across as a ‘wee bit’ sanctimonious hence the tirade back . Also as you’ve said I also stand by my opinion on the subject , I would love to support the whole of the U.K. airsoft retailers community BUT you can only be let down and pissed upon so many times before you do say “fuck it my moneys going elsewhere” .2 points

OK so it seems my opinions came across as condescending. That was not my intention but never the less I apologise. I have never put myself on that high a pedestal to think I'm superior to any one else but I still have an opinion and I will never change it.🙂 Regards 👍 Peace be upon you 😉2 points

just my two pence on this debate. Also, free trade and open markets are great for finding deals... think of it as a more fun and rewarding insurance comparison site. You wouldnt stay with a 'local' insurance company who jacks up your cover by a £100 each year for no reason when there is another offering the same for much cheaper... you just have to put up with the inevitable asian call centre if things go sideways2 points -

I run 3 mags in CQB: 1 in the gun and two on the rig. I carry a pistol mag sized speedloader full of BBs so I can refill the mags while I walk to respawn as the gas is good for ~100 shots, but the mags only hold 35 BBs 😁1 point
-
I have 8 Mags in total of which 2 are still in their packets. So by the power of mathematics I run 6. On reflection I should sell the other two lol1 point
-
I run 1 + 4 in rig and rarely run out. I keep loose BBS in my trouser pocket and top up mags as I go along, slotting them in 1 at a time with fingertips.1 point

Trigger Response upgrades
Pewpewpetie reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
there's 2 ways of going about improving trigger response (aka lock time). first is as you've suggested doing things like bigger batteries, faster motors or taller gearing. this will have the dual effect of reducing the cycle time in semi-auto and also increasing the full auto rate of fire. depending on how far down that road you go you can run into issues such as pme, which require more in depth methods to solve such as short-stroking. the other method is to use electronics, mosfets with a precock function will reduce lock time but without increasing the auto rof. a lot less involved mechanically although it does mean hammering the motor with active braking which can get them running hotter and shorten their lifespan. physical binary triggers afaik don't exist, it's only a product of an optical mosfet. however i would question the motives of anyone who wanted to use one in the field rather than just showcasing in the safe zone.1 point -

I would very much like something that is reliable and won't require any mods or much work to keep it functional, this won't be a heavily used pistol, just for the odd cqb moments and when it takes my fancy. Looks wise, i really like the look of the ASG CZ P-09 and the 1911. I would like the gun to have a traditional looking trigger, not like the hicapa trigger which is that blocky thing. something based off a real steel gun, nothing to large or with a silencer, just a basic looking pistol would be nice. Ok thanks, i'm not entirely sure i like the look of the Glock, still undecided on that front, but will keep this in mind. Haven't heard of this one, but will check it out, something with a nice heft and some crack on the blow back sound ideal! ok fair points, i would like the kick of Co2 and i suppose i'm not planning on using it so much that the expense would get in the way, but will keep in mind. I've not heard good things about VFC in the UK, would be interested to hear what people think of the VFC/Umarex FNX. haha yeah metal does give it a nice feel. this is the second recommendation for the WE M9 so will def have a closer look at that.1 point

I'm with @Druid799 on this, I've used a number of UK Airsoft retailers over the years, & more often than not they've been piss poor, everything from non existent stock, what they have got is often priced above RRP, & don't get me started on the shit eating attitude towards customers that many of them seem to have, you end up ready to slap some manners in to these twàts. I'm not a sheep, I have a bad experience, whether it's a site or a shop, you'll not get a second chance. so then my my hard earned goes elsewhere, if that means out of the UK, so be it.1 point -

8 Baofengs and a licence. Most of our team now have them. I set up a Chirp program map and just send all the newbies a chirp export file that's customised with their name etc. The map has the legal licensed frequencies and the PMR ones all mapped in. I've moved from the 5r to the 9r as its waterproof, which is a bit more secure for wet game days Swap the aerials out for a genuine Nagoya 771 one, or Retevis' version and the range is good enough for anything an airsoft game is likely to throw at you Oh and when purchasing them, get them direct from official Baofeng and web sites, there is a ton of fakes and clones. When you test the fakes they have low power and terrible performance/ noidse etc. the genuine are superb1 point
