  1. After all, can't beat good ol' H2O, can you? It's all I drink when I'm out playing.

  2. After watching them on FB with there site renovations and build and watching a few vids on YT from AATV...decided I will visit to spend a couple of hours on two of their ranges and have a look around. InRange is based in Rowley Regis (Birmingham almost), can be a bit hard to find the entrance as in the middle of a industrial park..but they are putting up signs soon to make it easier to find. They've really spent on £££ on the venue, place is tidy & clean and looks super impressive. Today I went to use the "Returner" range which is 30mtr's long and then after spending an hour on this. (Fine tuning my MTW HPA dwell and playing with pistols etc..) I was shown how to use the "Attack Sense" targets...and boy was this fun and challenging. Once you create you own account on a phone app, you can log into the system and choose different scenarios and change the levels.... Paul was also telling me they are going to move the targets as they want to double the amount of Attack Sense targets so they can have 4 on 4 competitions...which sounds like awesome fun. The hour I spent on the Attack Sense was totally awesome and was fun trying to beat my own reaction times and try beat some of the challenges..really does improve your reaction times and is quite exhausting after a while...but fun exhausting...and making want to come back for more. I never got to try the Gulag which is runs a maximum of 4 v 4...as I was on my own today...but it does looks awesome and can't wait to try it. (Sorry no pics..forgot to take some) Back downstairs, their bar is well stocked for hot/cold drinks and the strawberry drink was lush!!!...Sat down in the chill out lounge area and relaxed, had a chat with the owner about the venue and future plans. Had a look at the VR suite with the x4 awesome looking PC's and decided next visit I will have a go. Shop has a lot of Airsoft essentials you can buy...and I have to say they have some of the best rental guns I have ever seen!!!!! It's defo worth a visit if your looking for a fun time.. Oh and whilst I was on the range, the owner walked in with a Police officer who was being shown around.... I let the Office have a blast on my Negative Airsoft "upgraded" ICS MARS Carbine on the Attack Sense targets...which he loved every min of it. I then told him to switch to full auto...and with the 7.4 & Perun inside and other mods Luke had done, it's fires like it's running a 11.1.. the Office was laughing and grinning ear to ear.. Maybe a new airsofter has joined the ranks maybe?

  3. Granted, given what it's replicating, you'll never be able to hit anything with it.

  4. No, see, what I like isn't an addiction, it's wholesome virtue. This is easy to understand, your brain is just clogged with bread and pasta. Same with airsoft. My highly realistic imitation firearms are laser accurate and an investment. Your silly toy gnus are over-priced trinkets that will break then burn your house down then call your insurance company and claim that you started the fire yourself for the money.

  5. What was the fps before? If the springs intact and you havent messed with short stroking/thrust bearings then it shouldnt be dropping energy. I'd be looking first at air seal, specifically the hop as thats what you changed, a change in feed lip length could be losing you compression. Double spinning isnt in itself an issue, but might indicate she's going a tad fast, whats the rof in auto? Fps drop on auto (but not semi) is a sign of pme if your pushing her too fast. Been a while since i've run an shs ht but if memory serves they're much faster than the term high torque would imply, certainly on 11.1 i can see it pme'ing not so sure on 7.4, this is more ducks territory. If your aim is trigger response (or more accurately lock time- how long between pulling the trigger and the round going downrange) then you'd be better off looking at mosfets with precocking like the gate warfet, it'll make the semi auto nice and snappy but not require excessive auto rate of fire and cure the overspin at the same time.

  6. I'm kind of playing devil's advocate here, but often I find the shooting of dead players happens because said player isn't making it clear they're hit and out of the game. For example at my last game I saw a group of players get hit and one of them still had his gun up and shouldered. One short burst later and he's bitching about being shot when already dead. Thinking about it he was probably just dicking about with his mates, but if you want to do that then don't do it in the middle of an active game area

  11. 100% agree. I have an SHS ht motor in my 'fet fitted M4 CQB rifle. Otherwise stock but for barrel/hop unit/rubber/shims. No 13:1 gears though. ROF/trigger response is great. The 'fet makes ALL the difference. Look at airseal first, its a right bugger on some rifles. Then remember the adage that if something mechanical is wrong, it's probably down the last thing you did to it.

Added some Velcro OneWrap to strap ends to keep them tidy and elastic with a 500d cordura cover to the chest rig waist belt to allow some breathing room…definitely not because I like pies 🥧

  14. surprisingly took 3 attempts to get such a simple model to work right. Now I can print off PTW magazine followers whenever I want as they have a tendency to disappear. and in the quest for fog free glasses my next mad invention is 2 magnets with glass cleaning cloth stuck to one side. magnet-lenses-magnet and wipe the condensation away (a bit like cleaning algae from a fish tank).

  15. A few things: 1) at least 10% of the players never listen to the marshals, especially the game brief and begin playing there own 'thing'. 2) Being shot in the neck by a 500fps rif from 10m away on the Adams apple really hurts. (judging distance lessons required for that super mega gucci bearded ghillie up player). 3) my 5+yr old g&g r8L outlasted and out ranged some very expensive RIFS this weekend so high prices don't aways equal high happiness/quality. 4) everyone is always up for a good time and most players are more than happy to help. 5) it's addictive, fun and is a positive way to spend a day keeping active. 6)the pigeon chest/sparrow legs complex is high before first game (when photos are taken for social media use)however, by midday most are burning the last remnants of their reserves of monster energy and macdonald meals and look like zombies (and then quit early). 7) finally, marshals are not always right. This may sound like I'm dripping but this is me on a good day.

  16. I'm going to agree here. If someone isn't making it obvious they're hit, I'll just put one into the plate carrier to be sure. Some players will casually walk down a path, hands still down on their gun, in the hopes that everyone will think they're dead and not shoot, then shoot everyone in the back when they get past, and one shot to the chest really isn't a big deal, especially since most people wear a chest rig or plate carrier that absorbs most of the hit. I've never had anyone moan about it to me, and I'm usually slinging .48s at 2.3J. I think a single shot is different to lighting someone up because you think they might be playing dead. However, if they still have their gun shouldered in the game area then they are in no position to moan. To me I'd see them as still in the game until the hand goes up and they call out "hit"

  17. Mmm, I used to do steel historical reenactment, and lost teeth and fingernails to that without complaint. But the goal was always to minimise pain and injury, and due to the hand-to-hand nature of the activity, anyone who couldn't or wouldn't restrain themselves was very quickly identified and invited to sod off. Airsoft however lends itself to rogues, with some degree of anonymity and plausible deniability, and the ability to inflict pain without serious injuries meaning it's usually shrugged off. I'd really like to see much more pro-active marshalling on MEDs, overkill, or shooting dead players: and no, it's not "just part of the game", it's the difference between everyone having a good day, and only the sociopaths going home with a grin on their faces.

  19. I've been lurking here a while, and I've had a lot of comments about these Racals, so I decided it's about time I actually joined and posted something (hopefully interesting to the community). So I got fed up with breaking and fixing repro comms kit for myself and the team, (now on my 6th headset in 2 years playing). But I didn't want to fork out £500 on peltor comtacs. I'm sure many of you can relate to this. I found real steel Racal Frontier headsets being sold off dirt cheap. The catch being they come with a lemo connector for military prr radios. I read the threads on the lemo connectors and the price of adaptors and custom PTTs and thought what the heck, I'm going to have a go at modifying a set to work with a TP-120 / u-94 ptt. So a bit of experimentation later, I figured out a tidy way of doing it. I've done a few with with a Kenwood 2 pin cable to go straight into a Baofeng, retevis etc. radio. I've also done a few with genuine peltor tp120 cables to go into a u94 PTT on your shoulder. And I have to say, I'm dead chuffed with the results. The custom ear moulds are made from polymorph plastic. It melts in hot water and is hand (or in-your-ear) mouldable. The headsets are pretty slick. They electronically allow talk through, but limit the volume, the radio comes in your left ear and the cool bit is the microphone picks up from inside your right ear. Even at a whisper. I also like that there isn't a big can on your ear getting in the way of your cheek weld! The set on my plate carrier is my first off. The ones with the curly cables are a later version where I've managed to do all the mods inside the control box so the cable is all intact right into the control box. Anyway there's my show and tell, I'd be interested to see what you guys think! PS. The diagram in the background is a different project - Music phone and comms in my snowboard helmet (don't try and put that in a Racal!) PPS. If there's interest in these I'll put a post in the Classifieds.

Since @Cr0-Magnon is now a criminal of the vilest and foulest nature, should we be asking @proffrink to cancel him before anyone besmirches our good names ???? seriously tho - fucking border force monkeys not having a scooby-doo what Airsoft is all about, but they will let a container full of drooogs in without a problem …..

Same happened to me with the same letter you received, had UKARA on it and all. Mine was seized as part of a random search. Contact BF over the phone with whatever number you can rustle up. Get the name of the officer whos dealing with your case. State that you have a valid UKARA number and that it should be written on the box, give them the number over the phone. It could take a couple of months but I got my Real Sword T97 eventually. If you've done nothing wrong then there shouldn't be a problem.

  26. so.. a little update. the email I sent was sent to the wrong address..completely my fault as I can't obviously read a name on a piece of paper and type the same thing into a computer. After sending another follow up email to the wrong address I thought it was strange that I didn't get some sort of acknowledgement so I made a few phonecalls (HMRC and then BF) and eventually found the guy who sent me the letter and he told me about my stupidity of sending an email to the wrong address. he turned out to be a top bloke and we had a bit of a chat and it seems like everyman and his dog is trying to order RIF's without some sort of defense (he quoted over 150 seized currently). After I gave him my site membership number and then got the site to email him confirmation he has released my parcel back to UPS so I should get some sort of update on the UPS website in the next 24/48 hours. Fingers crossed UPS don't balls it up from here on in.

  27. It depends on the available air volume and barrel length. To give some context: My C08 has a 4/5 cylinder, 247x6.02 barrel and with just one tooth removed and a SHS m90 it clocks in at 0.95J My C02 has the stock 3/4 cylinder, 260x6.02 barrel, two teeth removed and with a SHS m90 it does 0.99J, on the verge of being hot for my country's law. Apart from the cylinder, mosfet (irrelevant), barrel length and hop rubber (both Maple Leaf, MR and Super Macaron respectively) they have the same exact internals (SHS HT and SHS 13:1 gears). Mind you, I didn't do any math when removing teeth, I just went by feeling but kept barrel length in mind when doing the C02 (I did the c08 first). With an M100 it clocked at 1.2J. also PDI barrels aren't as tight as ZCIs (which is a good thing, wider over tighter every day) I recommend getting a chrono and doing things one step at a time. I know dismantling and putting together the gun multiple times is tedious but it's the only way to ensure you don't overdo something. As far as nozzles go, SHS polymer ones are good, I have one in my PDW and it gives a nice 100% seal, I did remove the little bridge on top to get maximum air flow. Don't go for a metal nozzle though, they tend to shred hop rubbers and do all sorts of nasty shit if not 101% aligned. Also make sure to get the right length, too long and it won't feed, too short and it won't seal against the hop rubber. Measure the stock one with a caliper and buy accordingly.

    The AAP-01 Owners Thread.

Ah it was more in the general sense of what function does the part that has broken actually do? I've ordered the CNC hammer and TTI trigger anyway. I couldn't find an appropriate bearing in stock anywhere but they were coming up around £8 anyway, plus postage, call it £10 minimum. Nearly half the cost of the new hammer. I'm having a CQB affair with my Hi Capa at the moment anyway so the AAP SMG won't be missed too much while I'm waiting for bits. Ordered all the bits and bobs that Waldos Customs sells for the AAP. Short stroke buffers, springs and things!!

  30. This is actually the second time it's happened. I also got three police officers turning up at my office. The conversation went like this: Police: Why have you tried to import a RIF? Me: Because I'm a UKARA registered airsofter. Police: Oh cool, some of the guys from the station are airsofters. You're obviously not dodgy. Have a good day.

A letter? Like, tattooed on dinosaur skin? What does it say? Is it offering you an opportunity to prove your innocence, or just telling you "Ha ha, it's ours now, criminal"? Normally I'd ejaculate "Start dispute NAOW", but my understanding is that PayPal will go by the available tracking status (I await correction on that). Can you see that status? Ultimately, it's the sender's property and problem until it's delivered to you, so I wouldn't even get them involved, I'd just await confirmation on the best time to start the PayPal refund. I wouldn't even mention Border Farce, just "item not received, gibs monies".

  38. <Thread derail> At this point, I wouldn't touch anything with sugar in it, and no, not even "fruit sugars". With the possible exception of arena speedsoft, airsoft just isn't that intense, and healthy humans (or even me) do not need to burn significant amounts of carbs for energy. I went all day Sunday on ham salad and peanuts (for the salt) plus copious amounts of water, job done. No peaks or crashes, no feeling of hunger or bloating, no brain fuzz, and now I can reach past doughnuts to get to the cabbage without feeling any urge to gorge on empty calories. If you find that hard to believe, that's your addiction speaking.

I find it also has the bonus of making me feel extra smug when I've shot them with a rif that cost 10% of theirs I hate those "energy" drinks as they taste like shit and all they do is put people on a caffeine high, followed by a crash so they end up feeling worse. At least if you stick with the proper sports drinks you get to replace lost electrolytes etc

A high protein low carb no sugar diet has me back to normal(ish). Tonight I started back on the heavy bag... I'll be back in black in a few weeks. I feel far better now now as it is. 44. First watch THIS and any others you can find on disassembly. Then follow the steps 😉 Easiest method to reduce fps is to buy a new weaker spring. The problem is knowing which one to get. An M95 or M100 is usually around the 350fps range but it depends a LOT on other parts of the gun. Because yours is so high it might be worth starting with an M90 You can also try to cut down the existing spring but that can involve quite a number of tries to get the right power. You also have to heat and bend the end each time to make sure it sits flat.

  45. Well, it was an eventful day. Typical high ROF dude that was pissing people off never letting his finger off the trigger and hosing people down at close range. Kids playing with what seemed like no direct supervision which lead to a few safety issues (leaving mags in guns in safe zone then when reminded to take it out do so and FIRE towards the benches where people were sat) Some douche canoe setting off multibangs in the safe zone too. Lots of complaining too, my partner was sat in the safe zone all day (she had prep to do for an interview and liked not having a her pc or tv to distract her) and she just loved hearing all the guys coming back from the field moaning about their guns and other players. For me though, it rained i got hurt, I got shot I got to use my new rifle (although lost the included tools that came with it because FUCK YOU ARES) and enjoyed my day and got absolutely soaked. 10/10 would do again

  46. it's a character trait i don't understand. i mean if you wanted to out macho the other guy surely you'd be doing paintball instead? it's why statements like "oh don't be a wuss" really annoy me when talking about things like intentional headshots in this game, like disliking pain is somehow a character flaw.
