  1. Is it just me or does it seem like we've got loads of new members, most of whom seem content to tack nondescript comments on to lots of threads, but with no real value or knowledgeable input. Obviously the biggest concern is scammers trying to appear legitimate by getting their post counts up, do we need more screening or restrictions on new members ?

  3. @Tackle, first off you lot (heavily established members of this forum) can be intimidating. There I said it, i'm not the most outgoing person, sure, i'd be the third to admit that πŸ˜‰, what a number of new users (maybe) is finding their voice amongst you sages (grouches). Indeed, a number times i've read half a thread, formed my thoughts on it only to read those same thoughts on the next comment...it can be frustrating to be last inthe room. I know that a core of us (you) users are sure to welcome everyone that posts in the 'new player' board and that is to be applauded. It could be these comments are just them adding their comment as if it were a FB post and thats how their are easing into the forum. You can be cynical and correct, most of this is just me word vomiting trying to get my post count up, I have some stuff to sell. Rega - damn now im doing it

    Gun Comparison!

Personal preference at the end of the day. I can't do a comparison to an Mk23 as I sold both of mine. 4.3 Vs 5.1 isn't an argument to be had. Parts are virtually the same for both, the ONLY thing that is hard to find for 4.3's are slides and if you run a 4.3 with a 120% recoil spring on green then either will be fine on all but the very hottest of days. 5.1 makes more FPS due to barrel length. 4.3 has slightly less chance of splitting it's slide stock (they're a bit thicker in the polymer). Personally - I use a 4.3 as my sniper side arm and 5.1(s) as indoor primary. None are stock. A lightweight BBU is a fantastic upgrade. 4.3 All black edition from fire Support for Β£115 is a killer deal!

  7. Bought from @BigStewon these very forums , Foundry Airsoft HALO magnum kit , it’s actually intended for the Glock 17/18/19 but with a β€˜wee’ bit of dremeling it fits nicely on an 18C . Safe to say my boy will be a VERY happy bunny when he gets home ? πŸ˜‰

  10. Site Name: UCAP Greenops Contact detailss: 07590 818881 Website Address: GreenOps Liphook (ucap.co.uk) Facebook Page: UCAP Airsoft | Facebook Site Address: 1 New Lodge, Hollycombe, Liphook GU30 7LP Welcoming in the 2021 "Season" of SE Tour reviews, we started at UCAP Greenops on 18/04/2021 The only UCAP site within the SE Tour brief. UCAP needs no introduction in the world of airsoft events. Running four different sites that are quite different to the standard Airsoft Fayre. Greenops is their only pure woodland site. This site was about the limit to our arbitrary travel time limits taking an hour and a half to get to @Albiscuitand a further hour and half to the site. Greenops is the lesser talked about, but well reviewed site in the UCAP roster, it is a small woodland site situated on a slight slope. There is a mix of clear areas and very thick foliage. Multiple structures and earthworks dotted around the site. Unusually it is very sandy underfoot. Short to medium engagement distance. Good: Playing Area: This was the best part of the days experience. A small woodland site, but has lots of manmade props, including a two story church, FOB, airplane fuselages and assorted huts. The bushes are very thick with branches and can be difficult to traverse unless determined so most are forced down the cleared/recognised paths. Even though the site is small, running games in different directions keeps it fresh for at least the day we played. Clientele: There was a limit of around 50-60 players due to COVID. Mostly experienced players with only a couple of people who had never played before. Everyone was quite friendly in the safe zone, maybe a little "too" friendly considering the pandemic. There was very little griping during the day, people just happy to play. Hit taking: Was pretty good all day long. I only heard a couple of minor complaints. Turn around time: There was the intention of having back to back games until lunch, however despite being warned, players didn't bring enough ammo, so there were more breaks then wanted. This is not the marshal's fault as they would have been happier to stay out playing. Otherwise the turn around to time was good and the marshals kept putting on games until people were too tired to carry on past 4:40pm. Average: Marshalling: Due to the small site size and good amount of marshals, you could find one pretty quickly. They were pretty hands off and relaxed. Safety Brief: It started off mentioning that it wont be as long a "Mall" briefing, but ended up being much longer and without the wit of Luke. It was long, but covered everything you needed to know. Game Modes: Were fairly basic, mostly defend/attack and fetch quest games. It worked quite well and probably takes the small size of the site into account, however it would have been nice to see a fall back game that utilised the entire site. Value: Β£25 not bad for what you get in terms of a playing area. Car Park/Entrance: Well sign posted, long and bumpy dirt road up to the two car parks. The second car park had only just been created, however was not quite big enough as cars were penned in and had to wait for others to move to get out. Safe Zone: During lockdown this was expanded along with the car park. It's a wooden structure which is predominantly under cover. Much like the car park, it's not big enough to support the numbers that arrived. However due to COVID, everyone set up in the Car Park anyway. Toilets: A portaloo, but we didn't see it, or use it, so can't really judge this either way. Bad: Chrono: Everyone's primaries were chronoed at the beginning of the day as you walk into the safety brief and first game. None of the guns were marked, you only had the opportunity to chrono one rifle which is the one you bring to the first game. Any other rifles you used in subsequent games were not checked. In the safety brief they justified it by saying people remove tags and put it on other rifles or change the spring on the sly. If they caught anyone with a hot gun, it's an immediate dismissal, however I didn't see any chrono checks after the initial one in the morning. I really don't agree with the site view on this. FPS limits are 350 for AEGs, 420 for DMRs and 500 for BASR. Gas pistols were not checked and you chrono using your bb weight. Shop: We didn't see any shop on site. The website states they sell the essentials so it's unlikely they would sell anything beyond gas and bbs. Food: We didn't see any at the time. apart from a tea urn. According to the website they only sell snacks (Though due to COVID they might not have sold anything). So bring your own lunch. COVID awareness: I didn't hear much if anything mentioned about social distancing or COVID awareness. Other sites have enacted social distancing and enforced the use of fabric masks in the safe zone. I didn't see any of this at Greenops. Wall of BBs: The amount of full auto and trigger spam got worse throughout the day, people were just hammering bushes hoping to get a kill. I'd like to see semi auto only on AEG's during the day. Conclusion: Despite the somewhat average review, we did enjoy our time at Greenops. The playing area was rather unique for a woodland setting in that it could be classed as CQB in many areas. It reminds me of certain parts of Red 1 Chislehurst but with more variation. The size of the site was small, but we were knackered come the end of the day due to the long walks back to respawn, we think having a moveable spawn point that follows the action will improve the skirmishes and participation. It would be interesting to see what happens to the playing area in the future and if they can actually fit anymore stuff into a small footprint such that it is. But it's mostly the ancillary things that needs improvement, safe zone, parking, food, shop etc. If you are looking for CQB, but out in the lovely Hampshire sunshine, Greenops will probably tick your boxes! Bullpup Watch: Only one, and that was the SOC-AR of mine. Best Guess Map:

    Gun Comparison!

The slide and outer barrel is slight longer that's it performance wise you would be trying hard to find a difference. Go with the one you like the look of. Other than the grip the hi capa is the same width as a 1911. The grip us about as wide as the mk23 but is shorter horizontally. The hi capa It's not a big pistol.

I'll tell you what I was told when I asked the exact same question when I was looking - get the 5.1, there's way more aftermarket bits for it. Of course, if you plan on running it stock it doesn't matter.

  32. Only thing I will add is there was a small hand sanitiser station, but otherwise pretty spot on. A really fun site and a decent day airsofting, like most of my other review comments I just wish it was a little closer, I could see me going more often if it was.

    What Battery Can I Use

Honestly, if you're planning on keeping the guns for a while and using them get a better charger. The one I linked to is Β£25ish and it'll help your batteries last longer!
    1 point
  36. 1) I wouldn't bother with a longer inner barrel. You will notice very little difference. Spend your money on a better grade of hop rubber and get the arm modded to accept a matching bucking. You will then reach out as far as an AEG's physics will allow it. My Vector was ranging both my Systema PTW and S-Hopped NGRS quite happily. 2) I ran that battery with an M120 with a few coils removed to give myself exactly 350fps on 0.2s. So unless you are going to get this made into a DMR ( Why would you? ) an M130 ( depending on brand obviously ) might be too much. Adding additional stress and speed to any AEG is going to increase the chance of damage, but mine was fine. It essentially pot luck. The AEG will take it. But for how long, no one can say. If you are wanting to run hot. It would be a good idea to get the entire gearbox looked at, nicely greased, correctly shimmed and rebuilt. Give it the best possible chance

  39. Hi All I read a suggestion (on FB I think) of using cigarette filter tips for barrel cleaning. Just wondering what people think of the idea? I tried a 'slim' which fitted nicely, not tight, pushed through easily, and came out quite dirty from one of my pistols. They are apparently made of cellulose acetate. Not sure how that affects the barrel or hop rubber if at all. Dipped in surgical spirit should give a good clean. Has anyone else tried this? Good idea? Terrible idea?

  45. Buyer warning the seller War.bear scammer Covid doesn't not stop you from sending a message for over a week. I purchased for an agreed price to get it shipped with dpd for a next day delivery item was described as fully functioning and cosmetically worn, Bought first thing on a wednesday morning to give him plenty of time to arrange dpd to collect. Messaged me saying dpd did not collect alot of excuses until Saturday the item was still not sent. He then proceeded to ignore me for over a week until I opened a paypal case which to my amusement he replied straight away using covid excuses. To my acknowledgement covid does not effect you sending a message in anyway shape or form. He then sent the item over a week from purchase date. When we agreed and I paid the price for next day delivery well over a week before it was sent. It arrived in a total state nothing like the advert pictures or the way he described the item. It was not a fully functioning item at all, was hardly functioning and was not just cosmetically worn as he had described, It had loads of missing and broken parts charging handle hanging off no spring or latch to hold it in place missing bolt plate screws springs ambidextrous selector not functioning motor Base plate missing a screw Base plate was not flush would of stripped the motors pinion gear and also the bevel gear if it was not checked. Was not firing at the advertised fps tappet plate spring was worn not resetting the nozzle fully. Paypal resolved the case in my favour and I recieved a partial refund for the work and missing/broken parts i installed that should of been there in the first place. I thought I would put this warning out there from my previous experience with War.bear so people know what to expect from this seller. Don't get scammed ignored and lied too from this seller War.bear. Replying to my feedback from him as he is still trying to lie after I have had paypal case in my favour and a partial refund. He cannot take the truth constantly responds gets outsmarted then deletes posts absolute prolific liar, tried to brag about his positive trader rep when he told me he's sold 35 items but only got 6 positive feedback where's the others? explains it all as for me I have none, I have not sold a thing on here not desperate for the money like he said he was and only purchased one item that I wont be doing again thanks to my experience with him πŸ‘
