    Gun picture thread

Finally got around to chopping the barrel and fitting the new flash hider. Definitely a lot more usable in close quarters now!

  4. I largely disagree entirely with this statement. In my opinion you should put more effort into researching eye pro than you should any RIF you ever purchase. I wouldn't personally entrust my vision to anything made by Valken or Nuprol, QC is my main concern here. Bolle and Revision are both brands known to be up to the task, worth considering how much you tend to sweat/how likely you are to fog protective eyewear up. Not being able to see where you're going/what you're pointing your shooty stick at/moving your eye pro to clear fog is just as dangerous as wearing inappropriate eyewear. Assuming you value your vision, take some time, look at testimonials and go from there. Also worth considering the shape of your face when picking up eye pro, uncomfortable protective equipment will happily ruin your day.

  7. Got my MC Warrior DCS to use outdoor, absolutely quality bit of kit. Unfinished, needs a few more patches and pouches, but getting there. Was always sceptical about Warrior kit but certainly worth the money, echo the buy cheap buy twice stuff others say.

  10. Why did you start airsoft? If memory serves I was interested in either airsoft or paintball when I was younger (mid-teens), there just happened to be an airsoft site more locally so parents were much more willing to take me. The obsession just grew from there, though as many have I've had a few spells of disappearing for a few years before coming back. What do you like about airsoft? This time around, the social aspects. I relocated for work within the last few years and felt I needed something to get me outside and meet people with a common interest, which tends to be a bit harder to do as you're getting older. Outside of that, gucci gear. What don't you like about airsoft (not including KM or non hit taking, something more substantial please)? Maintainence, prep work before heading out for a day/weekend, folks that moan about things rather than taking (what I see to be) the correct path of amending them e.g. moaning about 'cheaters' but not once telling a marshall. That's pretty much it, I've been around the hobby long enough to not let the usual suspects bother me too much. I've been in the hobby on and off for about 15 years and it's the same things that are still 'problematic'. I guess I've just learned to accept them as quirks, for better or for worse. Do you think airsoft has any health benefits I.e keeping you fit etc ? I'm just going literally steal what @Lozart says here. Couldn't have said it better myself... at least not without potentially upsetting people.

  15. Now that the cerakoted parts are on their way back to me, I've given the stock one last rough-up with some fine grit paper and rub-down with some OSMO. It's a nice balance between having a deep, rich lustre and looking too clean and shiny. She's gonna be purty

  18. I'll mimic @Lozart's stance on this. Rated well known protection is what you want and you definitely want something that is rated higher than within a fine line (like Z87.1 is just about 343 fps). There's always the chance that someone is running hot, or a BASR/DMR is a bit antsy on the trigger finger when you come around a corner. You want something made to withstand multiple impacts as fully automatic fire is a thing. Obviously full seal is best (I use a gasket with my ESS crossbows), but ratings are a must. I'll throw this in here - note that FMA are a Chinese clone. You want to be protected for that worst case scenario and with a product that has been tested as such.

  19. What are you talking about!? There's some seriously valuable stuff there: Cleaning rod.Lens cover for scope (Black).Dpm baseball cap.Pistol lanyard (green).Bulldog 5000 tub 0.12g BB.8.4v battery I mean honestly, every now and then I go through my spares box and just bin stuff worth far more than that.

  23. My first shipment is due today according to the tracker but as it is still showing as being in SLH I know it is not going to arrive. Having just had a UPS van pull up right in front of my house for a delivery to my neighbour it feels like they are rubbing salt into the wound. I decided to give them yet another call following numerous promises of call backs and updates. This time I was put through to the same Customer Services manager who apologised and has provided a direct email contact to him. I still don't see that as much help as their customer services have little to no influence as to what happens at their hubs. It feels more like a stalling/pacification tactic for now. I don't know why I do it but I keep going back to Turustpilot to look at reviews and share in everyone else's misery. Over 9,000 reviews with 93% at the lowest rating. I am surprised it has not been picked up in the media. Still, I find this thread very therapeutic as an output for my frustration. It gets harder every time I am on the phone to UPS to keep calm.

  24. So the tracker says my thing as being updated at 5 this morning. Though detailed view has not changed since the last posted screenshot. Still apparently due this afternoon.

I thought you had inexplicably stuck a little bottle of red tracer BBs on the top of that. And then I realised it was a pink Himalayan salt grinder in the background.

  32. currently mine is down as this. I would not hold my breath on delivery until it is in the Northampton depot, which is where everything ups has ever delivered me gets dispatched from. though im hoping being down to having cleared customs as being a good sign at least? With Ukara expiring on the 27th, im assuming that hurdle has now at least been passed? *touch wood* hoping i can get my mp5 and mp443 soon (and for defcon airsoft to actually send me that m14, its been a week since ordering from them, got no delivery notification or anything, its just down as completed on their website)

  33. Don't know if it counts for much but I have just had an email saying words to the effect of 'Hi, you have a parcel coming tomorrow which requires a signature'. As for travelling to local depots, the majority of that tends to happen overnight so it's certainly not out of the question. Ultimately I'm not particularly arsed either way, takes as long as it takes, but I'm aware others are significantly more bothered for various reasons.

  35. New Coyote Tan set-up starting to take shape. Still a couple of additions/substitutions to go, particularly with the mag pouches, but so far really happy with most of the gear from Warrior.

  36. A TM G34 with all the trimmings (shoutout to the lovely Prowin mags) and a pair of TRMRs with multi shot bases from a lovely bloke on here that’s unfortunately leaving the game. Genuinely gutted because I’d have loved to get some games in with him, but it’s come to a good home. This’ll be the new ‘CQB primary’ stuff. The arrival of some additional long WTFix straps means I could finish putting the Crye Airlite chest rig together, and my Ferro FCPC v5 arrived from the US. Placard is very much a placeholder, not entirely settled on what will live there just yet.

  37. I did this on a TM/CA. CA33k front end is a straight drop in (although I might have had to shorten the cocking spring). The G3 handguard is too long as it stands, but should be relatively easy to modify. I fitted wood furniture instead.
