The last piece of the puzzle now arrived. A custom made full steel accurate L7A2 barrel to finish off my steel L7A2 gpmg. Just need to get it engraved with the original Enfield markings, and to get it altered to take the original inokatsu hop unit. Now going to convert my old barrel into the newer type HK L7 barrel, and to use to replicate blank use too.4 points -

I have a CYMA aep 1911 with a li-po fitted using a battery adapter that fits the standard nimh slot. It's a useful thing for CQB but bulkier than a standard gbb 1911 and heavier too. Full auto is useful but my lads G18 TM is fun and uses gas.3 points -
Guys beat me to it, no aep will take an 11.1, & if you tried to convert it to take one it'd probably implode on its first outing. Cyma do some OK variants in aep, p226/glock/hi-capa & desert eagle, possibly more ?. On a personal note I've just picked up a umarex H8R c02 revolver, gen2 (with hop👍), 5 disk mags for £50 s/h, initial test was excellent on .28's in 200ft garden so looking forward to gaming it, it's a definite willy extension, dunno if that's your thing lol😜2 points

Strong FPS and 11.1v compatibility does not exist with AEPs. They almost always do 230 FPS and use 7.2v lipos at most. Limitations of the platform. If you want what you want electric, get a small MP5K rifle.2 points

So I am new to sniping, I have had gbb pistols before (custom hicapa ) …. And even this pistol was prone to gas out etc.. CO2 looks like you get a more consistent cycling and can run automatic pistols effectively? SSE18 but….. AEG , I know they don’t kick, have less reactive trigger control and less range…. But as a sniper anything above 30m is rifle range and below 30m seems to be good working range for an AEG. Mags are also cheap !! so what are people’s recommendations for a pistol1 point

Hmm, I have one that's already in bits awaiting conversion to a laspistol (the better to server the Emperor), and wired to Deans. If I ever get it back together, I might see if I can blow it apart again. Try running a 6 shot revolver at 0.5J with no hop up. Every hit is a triumph. If you want performance, then I'd find reasons not to get an MP5K.1 point

10 in a mag, if I don't hit my target with the first couple, I'm playing the wrong game lol. Seriously though, while I don't play as a sniper, I do only use single shot generally & where possible play as sneaky as fuck, so pistol is usually a last resort versus a rifle mag change or malfunction, most days I'll end up emptying it before going in to the safezone for the last time, so the mag capacity really isn't an issue for me. If anything, I really really enjoy games with tight enforced ammo limits, makes you think hard about how you play & really levels the playing field, those are feckin fun days, without the usual hose fests. 😃1 point -

Personally I'm a 50 Shade Of FDE fan and the recent HKs with many many tones are great imo, my TM SCAR is very similar in that respect and I love it, but I think it's an acquired taste. I'd also move the light and optic further forward but obviously that's niff-naff kinda stuff. I would agree that particular rug with it's colours combined with the many colours of the gun just means there's a lot going on in that one specific photo, but the overall aesthetic of the rifle is absolutely top drawer for me personally.1 point -
Seems like typical first gen problems from a manufacturer that hasn't done an AEG before, especially with how they've strangely they've designed it. Actually had the pleasure of seeing one a few weeks ago at the depot and it looked great, owner had no complaints other than the shockingly poor internal battery space. Sounded a little different from most AEG's but it wasn't lacking in performance from what I'd seen and felt. Biggest issue they had was the poor internal battery space and the price 😂 If it weren't £500 I'd honestly jump at it, one of the more fun guns to use in Tarkov and the closest thing we've had to it up until now was the rubbish Ares RDB from Kel-tec.1 point

Just a hint of caution from own personal, and recent, experience : if you have an M4 slung across your back, and it's banging around against your webbing, it's quite possible to pop a mag out. I'm sure an experienced person would get it sorted out so the mag release was away from the body / webbing etc, and slung correctly so it wouldn't move around too much, but obviously I was not that man ;/1 point -
Honestly, most things work and it comes down to personal preference. I've been sniping for a LONG time, so I've tried basically every type of secondary. Also, saying that AEGs have less range than pistols is just false and more often an AEG will have more range than a pistol, at least out of the box. With upgrades, they're about equal, but I think I'd still say a well-tuned AEG will out-range a well-tuned pistol. My order of preference is: GBB pistol. Any TM pistol will do as long as you don't get rid of that lovely, super-efficient plastic slide. I've found they don't like it when temperatures are under 5 celcius, but much more and they still cycle no problem. GBB SMG. My preference is an mp9 or mp7, something that'll fit in my SMG holster on my leg. Similar to the above, but can do somewhat reliable full-auto when it's warmer at the cost of being bulkier than a pistol. Small AEG SMG. I have a Cyma mp5k and it's great. Shoots out to 60m fairly consistently with a new hop rubber and nub and gives me reliable full auto that will work in any weather. Only reason I prefer the other options is I like something I can holster. A small AEG needs to be slung, which means it has a tendency to swing around if you either move fast or need to crawl through the dirt or under bushes or through bushes. Gas NBB pistol. The mk23 is amazing at what it does, but the trigger pull sucks. Gas NBB pistols are nice and silent, but awful for follow up shots, which is why I don't like it as much as a blowback; also the TM mk23 magazines are absolute wank, so you would need the ASG mags with better feed lips and possibly a better gas router so the cost goes up on that front. The silence is nice, but unless you're hitting first shot every time I prefer the ability to make quick follow ups and with how much a rampant twig or slight gust of wind has a tendency to ruin shots... AEP. The dark horse option that has some great benefits (works in all weathers and often has full auto). Will easily hit to the ranges you need, but hit about as hard as you'd expect. Main issue is people won't always feel the hits from it, so you need to give them a bust of full auto, even at close range, which will make some people get all upset. I'd say about 70% of the time I've shot someone on semi with my TM mp7 AEP, they've either not felt it or not called the hit and I'm charitable enough to go with the former being more likely. They won't feel 1, but they'll feel a quick 5. Full size AEG. If you're a big guy like me, it's possible to carry something like a regular M4 or AK alongside a bolt action without too many issues, but it's still bulky and entirely unnecessary in airsoft where something small will shoot just as well as something long, if not better because of how cylinder to barrel ratio works. I don't like CO2 pistols because a lot of them tend to be more than 1.14J and I just don't like CO2 in general ever since I ran my VSR on it as I found it reliably inconsistent; the power will drop consistently as you empty the bulb, where green gas tends to be more consistent through the magazine, only dropping in power right towards the end, though it is more temperature dependent. Everything has its ups and downs, it just depends on what you want the most. I can't say what's best for you, as everyone plays this game differently and therefore everyone will have different views on what's best.1 point

The same replies as for the Specna. They're both generic, both CYMA-de-facto-standard-ish compatible. In fact, the DE doesn't have the question marks over its gearbox shell that the Specna does. Same caveat too, the DE fire control system has some decent features, but I don't think it has active brake, so you may experience double-shooting on semi (or you may not, it's entirely down to how everything works out inside your specific example. I guess it's time for this again.1 point

Really? Luke's point is that airsofters don't read instructions, and don't put things together on benches. That wiring pinch point is awful design, and an accident waiting to happen. That you've heard of. Yet. On a brand new gun. That's really not a problem? We're just ignoring that damage to the gears that we can see has already occurred? Silverback will only revise the bevel gear if they sell enough of these shagged units to pay for more development. At a minimum they should be sending a new gear to any owner that asks. Eh, well, it's only five hundred and sixty pounds (and upwards), you can't expect CYMA levels of engineering. 😄1 point

G&P M16 Selling this rifle on behalf of my dad as he’s getting out of airsoft. This rifle has been his ol’reliable over the years but since he’s stopped playing, it has been sat in his cupboard for past few years. This was his back rifle that would sit in its bag until the odd time his main rifle would go down. Nothing special about this rifle but it shoots good and has never needed anything more that a battery and a mag to perform on the day. If you’re interested in this rifle, please understand that it does requires a little TLC before use as it’s not been cleaned or serviced in quite sometime and it not cycling on semi auto. This is possibly my batteries not being correct spec as my dad binned his old battery he used for this frustratingly. Alternatively it could be in need of a new motor. Priced accordingly to the condition and price is inclusive of postage and PayPal fees.£150

Second trip to Special Ops yesterday, and a much better all round experience this time... Did I cure myself of my predilection for taking everything plus the kitchen sink with me? Did I feck. 3 gun carriers (de m906, Tippmann, vfc hk416, g&g36c, Rossi sniper) , an IKEA bag with spare battle belt and clothes (that did stay in the car, along with the scuba tank), a kit bag full of ammo and gas cans plus assorted bits and pieces, and a tool box, meant I was struggling to get my get my gear from the car park to the safe zone. Luckily a chap volunteered to give me a hand and we ended up talking to each other for the rest of the day, made a friend! I was a bit more organised though and spent less time farting around and more time concentrating on my guns. Fewer people at the door helped too. Apparently the ticketing system broke the previous time and oversold tickets, this time it was 60ish rather than nearly 90. Made all the logistics easier, and so the chrono proceeding went more smoothly and the safety brief kicked off on time. Before that I tried to sort out my Tippmann and the VFC HK416. I failed. The Tippmann, after I changed to the recommended G&G green rubber, it shot inconsistently. I hadn't applied PTFE tape around the barrel or re lubed the action, it seems I have an inconsistent airseal... Sometimes running too hot, it didn't pass chrono. Also it was set to too high a RoF so would sometimes double fire on semi. It's definitely fixable but I decided to work on the 416 instead. I admit it, I sort of lost patience with the magazines. One decided to vent gas, maybe a dry o-ring, and with the other the cheapo BB speed loader wasn't very speedy... And I was finding it hard to get more than 10 or 15 BBs in there. It made tuning the hop and zeroing the sights a bit of a faff. The thought of trying to skirmish with one half full mag was a non-runner so I gave up. I really need to buy that HPA high cap off Powair6! I also sorted the G&G G36C. Got the hop set, full auto is a blast on that gun, but the semi auto isn't quite right... Sometimes I seem to get a low power shot from it, not a double feed. Odd. Nice gun though! Will be using it more in the future. The games were the usual mix but just seemed to flow better with all the marshals knocking off the rustiness from the long lay off, and fewer people to contend with. A bit of non hit taking from the youngsters in their bullet proof jackets, but if they don't take the first couple of hits, a long burst usually encouraged them to change their mind ☺️ I racked up a lot of kills (and a lot of deaths too), mostly thanks to the Double Eagle which stills surprises me with it's range and accuracy. I had the hop nicely tuned in, and once I zeroed the Eotech I was using (worked beautifully), I was getting nice headshots on the tree trunk peepers. A great day out all told, but I'd really like to get the other guns sorted properly. TL;DR... it seems I can only do 'too long', so you did't read this 🥴😂1 point -

HPA has a lot to do with it. They cycle faster than AEG, in a game where you have one team of HPA and another of AEG's, the HPA will win because of the rate of fire and power difference. In the last game I was at, the HPA was recognisable by how much faster the BB's were flying compared to the AEG's it is also noticeable by the fact that I again have small circular bruises despite having a vest, t-shirt, my game top, fleece and a plate carrier, and I have been hit with AEG's and whilst they sting, the HPA fire was actually hurting. Most sites work on 1 joule on 0.2g which is 328 fps, 1.2 joules on 0.2g is 359 fps and max on sites fps wise is 350 fps. IDK what AEG you have used but mine don't output 1.2 joules, they output 1 joule. As for finding somewhere else to ply, why should I move when the other players need to change their attitude to game play and stick to the rules, they are there for the benefit of enjoyment, just seems to me a small number of guys that can't stick to the rules or play fair. Yep, they do but giving a description is hard when they all look the same. Where I live, sites are very far and few, were talking about an hours drive to a game at another site. All it takes is an attitude adjustment and to play by the rules, it is a game that uses the honour system and if players don't play by the rules and honour system it says a lot about that person.1 point -

The holster and pouches are for my Glock but too lazy to get it out of storage for pics - so just shoved a 1911 in (and it fits!) Really wanted to go all grey on the magazine pouches but they seemed pretty hard to get so had to substitute the Kywi for black. I saw some competition shooters in the US use Kywi's up front, and pouches with a bit of an angle towards the rear, so tried to copy that setup. Clockwise - DC universal Glock holster (QLS), DC dump pouch, DC shooter's double stack pouch, Kywi double stack pouch1 point -

As to how potential "Glennie's" approach their target audience, nothing is off-limits when it comes to separating a fool from his money, when the "too good to be true" approach runs out of steam, why not go for tugging at heartstrings instead, with the added incentive of grabbing a bargain from an alleged grieving widow apparently naive to stuffs true value.
