Ran across this place while doing research. It also seems like airsoft is much larger in the UK than in the USA. I play games with real steel and airsoft seemed like a good thing to throw into the mix and have a much safer two way range. Also, feel free to ask any question about the USA, mainly Texas.3 points -

Agreed. The way I see it, the UK and US are like brothers. Always up for having a pop at each other, but first to step up and have each others back3 points -
Ahoy and welcome - as long as you're willing to acknowledge that your revolting colony owes its independence to the French. Now I know you're winding us up. I've watched plenty of airsoft videos from the USA, and it seems clear that the rules for face-shots are that you need to flip out and fight him in real life.3 points

Is this fantasist melt trying to flip on some Collector's Edition toy that he doesn't even have yet? That's a new low. 100% chance that this geezer also has a stack of Dogecoin, and an NFT of a monkey waving a TAC-338, that he might be persuaded to let go for the right price.2 points

I am in the Dallas/Ft Worth Area. Other than hot summers, its a great place. Some shake their heads, others ask questions. I also shoot real steel games. So they dont really say too much as most of them are real steel shooters also. USPSA, multigun, some 22 matches, etc.. I think it is a good companion to the shooting games I play.2 points -
Well howdy partner. So what do your friends say when you tell them you play soldier with toy guns? 😆 ...or do you keep it a secret? 😁2 points

A wee treat to myself to celebrate my last year of my 40’s which starts today 😂 Some fresh comms and more M90 camo 👌2 points -
You will need a 250mm cross headed screw driver. Remove the rear stock plate. Turn the gun downwards so you can see into the stock. There will be a black screw within the stock (worth replacing as it is a cheap soft metal - I have replaced mine with a steel screw), towards the rear of the receiver. Remove it and the stock will come off. After that you can undo the spring change block which contains a metal spring guide with bearings. I can provide a video on this if needed. Hope this helps.2 points

My favorite holiday to celebrate is Treasonist Day! F the King! I have ran across enough of the UKers to get an idea that we on the other side of the pond are not all that different. Fun, Honor, and respect. Speedsofters (if I am terming it correctly) seem to be a bit unhinged. LMAO, seems they cant handle a few extra shots without getting all butthurt. The VERY first hit I took in this game was a 3 round burst to the side of the face, from within 20-30 feet, with an HPA. I was laughing as yelling "HIT" and "good shot". Guy asked me if I was OK later in the day and "sorry". I told him "if I did NOT get shot in the face, I would be upset, now I know it aint that bad". To top it off, I got shot one more time about 30mm from the last shot, and again on the next kill where it bloodied my lip. Only hits I took my first time out and 5 rounds to the face. Thats funny! I now have a OneTigris mask , BTW. P.S. I had to use MM as I have no idea what a CM is. I know Meter though. Learned that thanks to long range shooting real steel. A 1000 meters is longer than a 1000 yards..... by 3 meters. Thats a hit or a terrible miss. Your UK money names are even worse. I get the relation to a pound, but have no F'n clue what a quid is. Where I am from a "quid" is a person with a lisp trying to say squid (like the sea creature). Any help with that would be good info.2 points -

I'm using a set of ESS British Army surplus goggles. Full seal, and once you know to pop the lenses away from the face to open the vents, they're pretty good at not fogging up (any movement will get enough air through those vents to clear them) Dirt cheap too! (Well mine were, looks like they're ~£30 at the moment) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1753524724981 point -

Ive just taken the plunge and by my calcs on 18:1 gear set ive gone with a Black Standard speed (20k on 7.4v / 30k on 11.1v) I intend to run it 7.4 and if i think it needs more speed (read 'response') i can 11.1v it whilst also knowing it wont overspeed and clip a full tooth piston.1 point

Nothing worse than an unkempt French growler. Eh, every hobby has a few people with no other interests who take it all far too seriously. Add in a dab of adrenaline, and... <rant> Sensible sites list a maximum Joule limit and chrono with the ammo you're going to use. It's not rocket science, pretty much all airsoft chronos will show you a Joule number once you've selected the weight. Lazy sites chrono everything on 0.2g even though essentially nobody is using that any more. This ignores Joule creep, which refers to higher weight BBs picking up a bit - or a lot - more energy while they're travelling up the barrel, and holding onto it for longer in flight and hitting harder. If your local site is really still chronoing with 0.2g, you'll just have to grin and bear it. Chasing the site energy / fps limit isn't the be-all and end-all of competitiveness in airsoft, unless you're running a high rps BB hose and spraying and praying at extreme range. Shot to shot consistency is far more important for effective range. </rant>1 point

Yup, I also have a Combat Union unit that is essentially the same, but shorter. Unfortunately that one doesn't fit unless I go mad and mill out a chunk of metal from the outer barrel. Might keep it just in case I decide to build a vityaz of some sort. Legit the most terrifying feature an AEG could ever have.1 point -

With no FPS information, its hard to say. If you remember the FPS on the initial chrono session with 0.25g BB's, then pop in the figures in the top section. In the bottom section, select 0.3g BB's and see the results of what the fps should be and if on second chrono there was any higher reading, then there was either something wrong : With the chrono - like low battery, dirt, light, too bright The way the chrono was used - in all chrono's I have used, 100mm must be between the barrel and the chron to prevent readings that are skewed. The wrong setting was used for BB weight, something I have experimented with to show that the wrong setting skews true FPS. https://www.zerooneairsoft.com/airsoft-fps-calculator is a good tool to see this in action. I hope you had a refund as you would be entitled to one with being told to leave the site, if you didn't, ask for one and when they respond, positively I hope, saves you then going to your bank or credit card to force a refund through taking out an indemnity against them. You also have trading standards that you can use as a way of validating your rights on this because more often than not, site rules and policy is quoted and that is not the law. To diminish your rights as a consumer is an offence for which trading standards can take action on the matter and they get a very nasty surprise, could even be fined harshly for unfair trading practices, such things have shut business down in the past. I hope you get justice.1 point -

Not exactly a day of airsofting, but went big-boy pew pewing with the boy and my dad. Stumbletts Clay shoot near Horam. Been a couple of years since I last did this and was atrocious. The lad however.... Certainly kicked my arse with some pretty tricky stands. I remember wheb the place just opened up and was literally a shed and a couple of knocked together leaning posts for your guns. Over the years it's been improved and now the open area is like a sodding golf course. The lad's first time out with a 12-bore too. It's been poachers guns and 410 cartridges upto now. To top it all off we had a layover on the way home to pick up yet another pew pew. 20220717_101401.mp41 point -

Let's be honest, if you were attempting to run a professional site, how hard would it be to have some laminated sheets at a permanent chrono point for immediate reference, along with a selection of proven weight, decent quality bb's & one each of most platform mags. I never get why most sites call people to a hastily prepared chrono, usually balanced on the edge of a makeshift range, & usually manned by one lone Marshall while all the other Marshall's stand together in the safezone swapping war stories & generally doing feck all 🤬1 point -
Taking it in a different route, do you wear glasses? If not, how's your vision, and have you had an eye test recently? It could be something as simple as that. I struggled with spotting people at a distance for a while, until I finally found out I needed glasses. They made a world of difference once I did though!1 point
