  1. Right recently I was royally ripped off while buying a well mp7 of the Mong , when it arrived the condition was shit it was an ex two-tone which wasn’t mentioned in the ad and all in all just a shite gun , so I complained firmly but politely to the seller and received back nothing but attitude from then on any way long story short after paying £134’ish in total from buying it and then sending it back for a refund of only £110 (he said he wasn’t a retailer so wouldn’t reimburse me for fees as P&P as the gun did match the advert) tried getting the rest back through paypal but that was a dead end . Now on to the reason for the title , over the wknd a TM came up on the Mong seemed a bit too good to be true BUT after a bit of back and fourth with the seller the vibes where good so bit the bullet and bought it , arrived this am and all I can say is upon opening the box I genuinely did feel like the proverbial kid in a sweet shop ! With all the bits’n’bobs I got for an excellent price . So whole point of the ramble is to just let you all know their are still players selling kit that you don’t have to have some kind of previous ‘history’ with to not be continually worried your about to get stitched up ! here’s the ad for the well and the TM and a pic of the contents of the box , he found a couple of extra bits so chucked them in the box free of charge ! 😍

  2. The Mp5 Lego set grows the rear stock adaptor whilst being very well made and looking very nice is a very poor & loose fit despite being advertised for the MP5 NGRS , so this is going to need some looking at or binning off , which is a shame

Nothing too technical which is the way I like it these days , but I will follow this thread with interest because I’m always up for learning a bit more . And I may call upon the masses at some point for help with this behemoth of a GBBR which ill be giving a full strip and service with a bit of a tinker into a true semi auto beast .

@JimFromHorsham you sir have an amazing collection and also a great eye for detail. Looking forward to hearing more on the project. I have posted pics on here in the past, so one final time…. the short “A2” has stock hop chamber with silicone maple leaf 60* autobot rubber which hops beautifully. Stock inner cqb length barrel and an angry gun MPA nozzle set to 300 fps on .25g using Nuprol 3.0 red. Suits cqb great. long “A1” stock chamber again with silicone maple leaf 60* autobot rubber in a RA tech 370mm 6.01 inner barrel. Power is controlled using a white fh airsoft LFS restrictor disc, at around 300 fps on .25g? Again using Nuprol 3.0 red gas. I have replaced a trigger box a few years ago, in another defunct M4 and replaced a broken valve locker, but I find as I use semi only, these can go on for a good long while with minimal maintenance. When I’ve got time I’ll try put a small list of rs parts I’ve used at various times ( Which can make the WE experience that little bit more special ) so newcomers can dip straight in!

I can wholeheartedly recommend the Apache for a GBB SMG. Been my go to for the past year. One quibble I did have was that for hop adjustment you have to remove the handguard and suppressor, but once set it hasn't moved since. The upgrades I've done are a maple leaf green hop rubber and crazy jet barrel., and by god, this thing can reach out and hit someone from a very good distance! The crazy jet barrel is shorter than the standard barrel so I made my own suppressors for it. All the internals are still in really good condition, so hopefully will do for a good while yet.

  8. In a nutshell you’ve highlighted exactly why I did post this up , I know we’ve always had the chancers and out and out scammers (is that you ‘mr’ Glenny ?) in the 2nd hand market place but over the past yr or so I have definitely seen an increase in the numbers of buyers making really ridiculously low offers on items I’ve been selling and then getting all pissy when I’ve said no as if there doing me a favor by buying my what ever ! , I’ve always been of the “if XYZ is in good Knick you start at 30% off new price , I also always do an ’all in price’(hate it when you see a number THEN you have to add paypal fees and P&P on top !🤬)and then work from their , you have a price you’d like and the price you’ll go down too not difficult is it ? AND an increase in the numbers of sellers having over inflated ideas of the value of what ever it is their selling and getting quite worked up when I’ve offered less than they asked even when I’ve given a valid reason for the price I’m willing to go up too . So yea dealing with this chap has really renewed my hopes for the community , but saying that I’m sure the next sale I’m involved with the seller/buyer will try and roger me senseless ! 😳 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍

  9. Plenty of good people out there, they just tend to fly under the radar as it's always the chancers that get talked about. Looks like you got a good deal there and sounds like you are rightfully pleased with it too! Glad you took the time to give the good guy some airtime, it's good for all of us to know there's still decent people out there and that maybe, just maybe, every seller you come across isn't actually trying to pull a fast one.

  10. nice thread 👍 I’ve been playing around with Airsoft guns for a while , and WE GBBR for quite a while now too , if I’m right and recall correctly since around 2010 . For a skirmish rifle back then the Ratech NPAS was mandatory , middle summer could see a GBBR hitting 450-500fps quite easily and they don’t last long at that on stock internals . When I played it was almost always on single shot (I also had PTW’s , all modded to semi & 3rd burst ) so living the semi auto life was an easy one and an easy transition . So a simple power reduction was all I ever did unless something failed which in all honesty wasn’t very often at all , I don’t ever recall a “catastrophic failure” or enough of one to put the gun out of play . WE GBBR get a bad rep but like most things I’d say it’s mostly user error (like mag dumping on full auto in February) and regurgitated nonsense from people who’ve never even owned one . Don’t get me wrong , gas rifles are not for everyone , you’ll be outgunned at most of your average walk-on days but used sensibly they are a lot of fun and easy to work on . Circa 2012 , a WE 416 GBBR in the wild 😛 Roll forward a few years and I’m still tinkering about but not playing anymore , but I still give the guns a good work out . Quality imo has come on nicely with the WE rifles , my only gripe is that the trademarked versions are a bit more difficult to source , im still a kit slag but I can live without that detail (just about ) . all my rifles now just get a basic inner barrel and hop rubber upgrade from maple leaf , crazy jet and 60dgr rubbers seem to give me a decent accuracy , minimal stoppages or jams and hop .30 nicely across the garden, if skirmishing presents itself again then I’ll probably go the NPAS route yet again. externally , whatever I can get my hands on .I’ve found Rails from HAO offer great value and quality , upgraded buffer tubes over the stock ones , RS pistol grips / stocks all give the rifle a much higher quality feel at not a lot of money these days . Here’s a few of my builds , I’ll chip in some more later but if anyone wants to know parts / where from etc I’ll do my best to reply & help.

  17. My understanding is that should be fine, you have a defence to manufacture a realistic imitation firearm due your defence that you're an airsofter. Your membership of ukara then proves that defence. While it's very tempting to buy a two tone, I'll still advise against it, even though it's very tempting. Reasons for advising against it is you haven't had enough games to know if you truly like airsoft enough to spend on it, most people love their first game, by game 3/4 a lot have lost that buzz and have often over spent. Still love it after 3 games- spend away. Also, you're so new it's hard to understand what you'll like longer term, I hated m4s when I started but now I think they're awesome. You haven't messed with other players rifs at events, you don't know the pros and cons over what you're buying (based on the number of times I see "just bought this.....is it any good?!" Type threads. Covering a two tone isn't as easy as it seems, most covered two tones generally have some of the bright paint peeking through and you'll never get the best value if/when you decide to sell it.

  18. In short yes. However, I recommend renting for the first few games. This will allow you to work out what suits your playing with style. For example I prefer shorter guns as I like to go sneaking through the undergrowth so a carbine or smg suits me best.

Okay, I know these are quite an old and established brand now, with varying opinions on quality and usability, but I’ve searched the archives and can’t find anything meaningful. So here goes… I am starting this thread as there seems to be a flurry of interest in the WE gbbr platforms recently. Whether you are interested, or own an m4/16, AK derivative, M14, G36, G3, SM8/ Mp7 etc (no pistols please), this is your opportunity to show boat your builds!! External upgrades, or more importantly internal upgrades; if you would like to post what works for you, or what hasn’t worked for you? How did you get yours to be reliably skirmishable? Best hop upgrades, inner barrels? What’s your maintenance regime? What breaks or what haven’t you needed to change? Everything is on the table! it would be nice to make this thread a source of valuable information for old hands as well as new owners to what I’ve always believed ( since 2007 and my closed bolt M4 cqb) is a great and realistic brand to own for both collectors and players alike. so fire away; let’s see your pics and tech tips please!

L11 L119 A1 short (the top one is mine) and A2 long build in progress. Both have stock hop with Maple leaf rubber and omega nub fitted and Crazy jet barrels. The A1 has an RAtec NPAS but the A2 is a DMR so runs unfettered. The A1 has RA tec internals in the trigger box but not due to any failures just that I had them and decided to fit them. The A1 has had a lot of use with typically 1000 / 1200 rounds through it on a game day and loads in the garden. No failures of stock parts and both run red gas pretty much all year unless its a very hot day.

  25. From the "bargain bin" end of the spectrum... Action Hobbies have a battle belt with harness in multicam for just £15 I bought one, didn't get on with it as my 'non-svelte sizing' (i.e. fat bastard-ness) meant all the kit hung a bit too far around the sides, towards the back. But if you're not a porker then it's going to be fine https://www.actionhobbies.co.uk/products/viper-technical-harness-set/ Alternatively there's the skeleton version which I think can be had cheaper elsewhere, but that fitted me very well, and I'd have probably stuck with it if I'd bought the multicam one instead of the black. https://www.actionhobbies.co.uk/products/viper-skeleton-harness/ (So after trying both these options I actually ended up buying and using a Bulldog Mk3 battle belt with a separate harness, which is deffo 'weightlifter belt' sized. It works very well for me)

  26. Do you want something "airsoft" or something legit? Either way they are quite spendy for what they are, plenty of Chinese clones about that will adequately do the job for airsoft, personally I have the OPS/UR-Tactical laser cut belt which works well (except it's an older design with the hooky bit on the inner belt). The Deadly Customs ones are decent and come in two different sizes (2" and 1.75") and they will provide the kydex pouches too if that is your desire. As for legit stuff - pick your price and pay the money. All of them will be WAY more than you need for airsoft and are priced accordingly.

  28. I run a FRV Tailoring belt, but heard their customer service has gone to shit and they're not getting their orders shipped. Shame, as the belt I have is fucking nuke proof! C2R, TacBelts UK and Deadly Customs all make great quality shooter belts too, and they're UK based! Failing that, if you want a more "standard" looking battle belt, I may recommend the HSGI Suregrip, in my opinion it's the closest thing to a shooter belt without actually being a shooter belt. The rest is, imo, either too old technology or vastly overpriced due to import fees.
    1 point
  29. There are quite a lot of different belt manufacturers out there at the moment but it sounds like you are after a shooters belt and most of the real steel brands are probably pretty good... Just please whatever you do avoid FRV tailoring at the moment. from what i can see they've gone into administration. (Although if you do find one second hand it is a decent belt.) As far as my top brands (This is gucci kit with a price to match.) have a look at the C2rfast shootersbelt, ferro concepts bison belt or possibly the axl belt (milspec tailor kit is also in this bracket) Alternative really solid belts that you can get for a good price are things like blackhawk(Old-school but comfortable and proven kit that comes up on ebay often enough.) TacbeltsUK, british tactical (Their lightweight horizon laminate stuff especially is made by a really clever guy on IG Called Flimmurr which is top kit made in the UK at bargain prices.) Obviously there are loads of other brands out there and there are also other styles such as the HSGI and warrior padded belts that will be solid too, but this was just a way to throw some more brands out there for my 2pence worth. (I dont know much about the GP or Odin belts from tactical kit so I can't comment on them unfortunately.) The main thing to remember is that for gas mags you need a fairly stiff belt and a good holster to stop everything flapping around or digging in etc.

    Milsim

Check with the organisers. For milsim? Yes. Some will do a level of kit rental, but since you'll be out in the field for 24 - 36 hours uninterrupted you probably want kit that is personalised to you, not rental kit. No idea, but Defiant Events do stuff in the south east and they're pretty good. They have a minimum age of 18 at their events. Milsim is not regular airsoft. It usually has a lot less trigger time, kit requirements, squad-based gameplay, will run for 24 hours or more uninterrupted, so you need to bring your own food, drinks, sleeping bag etc. It's not for everyone; I'm not a fan of it, prefering the filmsim/battlesim middleground, but I know other people who basically only do milsim.

This will vary between sites & organisers There is no explicit minimum age in the UK to play, and it will generally be controlled by the sites insurance and any ‘special activity’ that the site may cover For example a site game organiser may allow juniors on their site but if they also run a special event elsewhere such as booking an MoD training establishment might up the age to adults only It can also depend on what you mean by MilSim. It means different things to different people, and even then there are different levels ‘Standard’ airsoft might look like MilSim from the outside but the average skirmish on the average site will be a mix of the local people, some in full dress up mode with all the gear and being a ‘ninja operator’, some in jeans & t shirt and anything inbetween ’Events’ are run to a format and are more likely to attract the ‘MilSimmer’ but May also get average people Events may have equipment available to hire - but it depends on the organiser ‘FilmSim’ is much more serious in the look and play style and some guy in jeans & t shirt won’t be welcome unless there’s some form of insurgency faction The best option is to go to a local skirmish, contacting the site beforehand to ensure you can hire for the day and get to see what the others use To buy your own black guns / RIFs you need to be 18 and to have established a ‘defence’ to the VCRA such as UKARA membership via playing at a participating site the required number of times. A Junior can legally be ‘gifted’ a RIF by an adult who qualifies (get some games in and start writing your birthday / Xmas list)

  40. It is sad that there are always a few people who ruin it for the many who love airsoft. Have you reported this to the site marshals? At the end of the day if the site are not on top of these things, incidences like this will unfortunately continue, until something serious happens or the site closes due to lack of return business. I, like many long servicing airsofters on this forum are heart broken, disappointed and angry when we see these and hear about this incidents like this. I guess others on here will comment better than myself.

  41. As someone who uses pea frag grenades most games, I can see the issue, you've normally got it ready and planned the deployment in your head, then struck the primer, Your only thought at that time is to throw the thing and I suspect that even if hit you are so involved in the aim throw cycle the hit wont even register until the grenade has left your hand So yes, I'd like to say I would drop it, but I bet in reality my reactions (especially at my pensionable age) wouldn't be fast enough to override the preprogrammed throw I was undertaking

  48. Today it was no hit takers day and overkill day as well as some shenanigans with one player I suspected of having an unregulated HPA and causing 8 to 10 players to leave the game site. Two blemishes are defo 0.2's in a RIF that is chrono'd to spec, that is very clear and what I expect to see when I come from a game that has been played with players following the rules. The other three and I have about 35 of them all over me, shots from further than the others I took, left me with those bleeding welts which is not what airsoft is about. Had they been really close shots like within 20ft, I'd expect a 0.2 to leave a bigger mark. To be clear on this, I had a long sleeve'd top on. I suspect that the guy concerned was using 0.25's or 0.28's for something like those. To make it clear to the morons in the room, its twatish play like that--that sends the kids home to be never seen again and how is the sport to grow if you have morons intentionally taking the piss and driving away the new intake..? I have noticed a big drop in numbers of players recently as the regulars and myself agree that there are a few rogues players who pop up from time to time and you get this kind of game play that ruins the fun. There was a guy who took a point blank hit to the arm, twice by a guy that could have just as easily have hit the guy in his plate carrier. There was one guy kept on taking hand shots, aiming to hit you on your hand and I got hit several times, luckily the gloves took the brunt. One guy ended up with an injury to his hand and it was very nasty, defo a hospital trip that one There is beginning to be too many twats who just don't understand what fun is and that when they turn up, its off putting to people and they are the problem in the sport, not those complaining about fair game play, these guys tend to be the non-hit callers / takers, I popped a few guys dead centre of body mass and they carried on game play regardless. So this weeks game was a lot of angry players wondering who it was... Put it this way, by half time we'd lost 8 players because of this one twat. Excuse the rant but I think it needs pointing out to the morons in airsoft as they just don't get it, they are hurting the sport, not taking part in it... they may like to get hurt as part of their fun package and others hurt people back, that doesn't mean that its OK, especially when there are rules for good reason.
