    I Love Airsoft but....

Blimey, where do I start, @Cr0-Magnon, my "burden", a lifetime of crap has left me with cumulative ptsd & the associated depression/anxiety that goes with, on the physical side there's a wrecked back from two serious rta's, both knees awaiting replacement thanks to serving in the infantry & years of ice hockey/rugby/boxing/running, add to that I've dealing with a growing prostate cancer since 2020, & even though I'm having treatment, no one can tell me if it's close to being beaten, which can be a daily mindfuck if you let it. BUT, & THIS IS A MASSIVE BUT TO EVERYONE HERE...... we have one life, for some it's incredibly short, for others it's painfully long, & for those in the middle it can be meh at times, But if there's stuff you love doing, then find a way to do it, for me it's anything from robocop style knee braces, back braces, & copious mounts of pharmaceuticals if required, jabs in the knees too if I can, what am I gonna do, fuck em up, that ships sailed lol. If I can't do what I enjoy whats the point, Airsoft, riding bikes & hopefully getting back out on the water on my yam super jet at some point in the future once the knees are sorted. In your position I'd be considering a fencing style mask with safety glasses underneath, & change your playing style to minimise the possibility of falls or knocks to the head, essentially slow the fuck down & embrace being a sneaky bastard, works for me, tortoise & the hare lol. On Thursday I lost a good friend, 77 years young, all his life he had numerous serious health problems, including a severe curvature of his spine & diverticulitis, later life prostate cancer, but he became an awesome teacher & scout leader, literally inspiring so many & often leading by example in sports etc. So don't let shit get you down, you'll figure out a way to overcome it if you really want to. Good luck matey👍

I ordered a Holy Warrior Sig Sauer Tango6T replica last week from Aliexpress and it arrived this morning. Chucked it on my TM M4 MWS URG-I build and I think it really looks the part. I’m really happy with the build quality and the look of it. The glass is very clear although I’m sure it’s nowhere near the all round quality of the real steel scope. I’m not sure how well it’ll stand up to the punishment of recoil from a real 5.56mm rifle, but it should be good enough to withstand a GBBR. That said, this is really only for display with the odd bit of garden plinking.

  12. "tooo much to mention". Yeah, tooooo much to pay. Especially for a TM that might be shredding its internals. I generally feel a bit sad for folk trying to flog all their gear, but this bloke isn't even trying, and I rather suspect that actual "sensible offers" will be met with an "I know what this is worth all day long, mate."

  14. I unfortunately took a glaive to my eye a few years back, it's left seemingly no permanent damage but I'm always aware of my eyes nowadays as honestly I've never felt anything as terrifying as suddenly losing my vision. I took my time getting back into airsoft after that and since I take care to always use good eye-pro and be willing to fall back if it gets too hairy, I'll personally fall back a bit than engage in CQB too much. Honestly taking a few shots to my eye-pro actually relieved me of my tension about my eyes. Good luck to yourself and take it steady

  16. Had a good, if sweaty game yesterday at Reforger. In the first half I went out with the M4/acog and did quite well, getting some good kills and heroic deaths. Did get my hand shot up after calling hit at one point ('Hit! Hit! Fuck off please! Thank you!'), and there were quite a few complaints about non-hit taking, beyond the usual dull roar of complaints at any game, though hit taking and active marshalling seemed to improve towards the end of the day (culprits possibly identified and had a word with?). Saw more equipment failures than usual - probably the weather making people a bit clumsier - I lost the rear sight off my pistol, another players trigger disintegrated, a broken sling for someone else, and some galoot with cat ears broke @GAMBLE's scope cam (any joy with fixing that yet dude?). 2nd half I went out with the P90/seeall sight, and despite finding the mags a bit clumsy and not the hi-caps I'm used to, had a great few games. One particularly good moment was when I'd pitched up in some woodland between a track and the field that we were guarding, squatting in a bundle of nettles with just the top of my head peering out. Had to wait a little while before someone came down that way to flank us, but once they did I managed to take out two separate groups of 4/5 players a few minutes apart. No one expects a guy in a gillie suit with a P90 😉 Going to one more game there next month to get my UKARA sorted, and after that will probably spread my wings a bit and try a few other sites for the next few sessions (maybe some CQB?), though I will definitely be back because I like the site and it's very close by.

  17. You get a shell catcher for them bud Sits over the ejection port and catches / holds the used shells No need to go walkabouts after each game foraging for them At roughly £10 a shell, it’d get really expensive and disheartening 😂😂 Yup, I like the idea of a Spas with the folding stock i appreciate that getting the TM stock would be almost impossible, but I believe other manufacturers versions will fit with little “tinkering” that’d be cool as fcuk 😎

  18. I had the worst of luck and the best community experience since getting back into airsoft this weekend. So, let’s get the worst out of the way. I’ve been trying to get the backup gun I bought on here a few weeks back working properly and have had it either delivering very low FPS or just not feeding, this weekend after playing about with the hop it was firing a little better FPS but only 268 tops, but the bloody thing just WILL NOT feed. Ah well, not to worry, back to the faithful Tippmann AEG, get to chrono and nothing. Dead as a bloody doornail. After much arseing about one of the Marshalls gets the soldering iron fired up and we try to repair the knackered connector, after burnt fingers and much swearing the soldering is done, then we notice the connector is actually broken as well. Brilliant. Thought we had the backup gun running and I had a pistol just in case, one pistol mag fills, the other at that very moment spits its dummy out and leaks like I’ve never seen one leak before! Unreal. So now I’m down to a single pistol mag and an unreliable gun. Things then get worse, unreliable becomes bloody useless and does sweet FA in terms of firing BBS. Basically my weekend was done within 5 mins of game one. I thought I’d just do what I could with the pistol once I’d stashed the M4 away. Back at the safe zone I have one of the guys who was over from Northern Ireland to play come over for a chat (Crowsniper), asked me about where spawns are etc as he’d not played here before. He asks me why I’m in the safe zone, and I explained the utter shit show that was my morning. The absolute legend then beckons me over to his table and says he’s got me covered. Pulls out a very very pimp looking Krytac Kriss Vector that he’s just finished building and tells me to go and have some fun. This thing was insane, rate of fire and range were both absolutely unreal, he’d done a massive overhaul and upgraded and it REALLY showed, it was like playing a different game to my usual weekends. Had an awesome game, the Krytac turned the game around for my side on a couple of occasions providing some great covering fire and firing further than one of the snipers we were with. Was very impressed that a guy who’d never met me before was happy to entrust an expensive and very cool bit of kit to me after a 5 min chat. Top lad, shout out to James AKA Crowsniper for being a great example of what the airsoft community should be and is (sometimes). Oh and now I have 2 non working guns to get sorted…….

  20. I’ve had a couple of springers My first taste of shotguns was the Fabarm STF12, it’s all plastic , works with the usual TM style 30 shot cartridges, gave an effective range of around 15-20 meters. I popped a red dot on it and it doubled its weight 😂 Does get good reviews, but I got bored of it quickly Sling points are flimsy plastic, and total gash! After a wee while,I got an itch for another shotgun and picked up a Cyma MOE M870. A considerably better made piece of plastic. Runs on the same cartridges and system as the Fabarm, so easy and cheap to get shells for. A much better range, and could get .25’s out to circa 35-40 meters (I might have just got a good one) but it developed a fault after a few outings where one of the barrels would jam a beeb in it , that got sold as boneyard after I made it look like an APS CAM870 with trades and gold accessories etc I then just recently bought an APS shell ejecting Cam870 Ridiculously expensive Expensive to run Shells are a dick dance to load up Parts are next to none existent in the uk, so ordering from HK is the only option I FCUKING LOVE it Springer: something from Cyma Gas: Secutor Velites Exotic: APS Cam870

  21. Yep. I know that a lot left after the VIP game because fighting up that hill takes it out of a lot of people. We got rebalanced over to blues though we weren't given armbands, so we were just no bands. Everyone was told that the 6 no-bands were blue, but that didn't stop me almost getting friendly fired in the back of the head. Lucky I saw the guy and dropped into the stinging nettles (no way any airsoft gun is punching through those nettles behind outpost... but I'm still suffering for it!) so my friend shot him, said "he's on blue you know" and then I went over and medic'd him

  23. Back after six weeks, and what a day to come back to! New summer ghillie with the silence of HPA is outstanding, we had timed respawns on the same point (one team spawns for a few minutes, then the next) and I sat against a tree as the other team came up behind us, taking out five or six from 10-15m away before one finally decided to come my way. And I found a nice spot on four base domination with only a minor amount of nettles, but got a few kills from there. The VIP escort in the afternoon was great fun, we actually had a similar idea @Impulse but we only waited at the top of the ridge, and had control for a bit before we realised we were surrounded 😧 Great gamemode though, I hope they do that again. We did a CTF game but you first had to get your flag from the opponents base, and I think the marshals underestimated how hard that would be. I almost got stepped on though so for me it was a bit of a win 😁 Right after that VIP game the teams went off to their spawns for the next game mode, and blues thought we were a bit light of players as a few had left. 16 of about 30+ from the start of the day. We asked for a headcount of the yellow team, and if they only had a couple more we weren't too worried. They still had 30 people left!😂 So yeah teams got a little rebalanced for the last few games. I had a fantastic medic in one of the last games. We were holding a base, other team pushing us hard and I get taken out in my spot behind a tree. I noticed a guy had pushed right up to our line and had pretty good sight on me so a medic was risky. So my friend sprints over and we drop as low as we can, the guy has 100% noticed this and is moving over to us. Right as I get my armband back on and yell "Back in" I draw my pistol and round the tree to see where he is, and the poor guy asks for a surrender while I have my pistol on him at basically point blank. NO MERCY I SAY! And don't try to surrender kill someone from the front 😂 the marshal enjoyed the hell out of that one! What a great day though, teams were even throughout, even on the VIP when we were down a few. HPA is lovely and quiet, just need some adjustment to get more consistent but I'm pretty sure I know why that is. I love airsoft

  24. I hurt. A lot xD So another great day at Worthing today. Went out with the ghillie and the m21 in the morning and it was okay. Had my obligatory "that's a bit close for a sniper isn't it?" when running my m21 at 1.1J for no MED, but I didn't get too many people in the morning. Most of the time I was just holding flanks and holding angles that often didn't get attacked (though without me there the other team could've just waltzed past our front line, so I stayed the course. Just before lunch had a good moment holding a corner and keeping the other team back with my lack of MED. Seriously, Worthing now is so thick with foliage that MEDs are just a liability now. However, the afternoon was amazing. It was rather warm, so I got rid of the ghillie and picked up the MWS, which I have now installed my standard setup of Maple Leaf autobot rubber (70 degree), omega nub and a crazy jet barrel and hoooooly balls it shoots far. We had to escort a scientist VIP up a hill to one of the bases and get him to let off a smoke, but we were just getting shot by our own players when we went for him. So what we did is we decided "screw that" and instead went and took the base we had to bring him to and just... let the other team bring him up. We then bounced them, took the VIP and got him to release the smoke so we won in the end, despite the other team doing the hard work for us getting up that hill; there were some great firefights and I got some brilliant shots holding the far flank. The MWS is even punching through foliage with those .3s I put through it and I had a lot of fun firing it off on semi and feeling that crispy recoil. Some speedy tacticool reloads were also needed thanks to 35rd magazines and it was just a great experience. When we then played a game where we had to hold that base again as we were getting towards the end of the day and I took up a similar position and got some wonderful shots. I can't believe how great the MWS shoots! When we swapped sides, me and a friend crept behind the enemy team and caused havoc by pushing through some pretty tall stinging nettles and shooting everyone in the back. And that's why I hurt. I had to hit the deck a few times during the gunfights we initiated from behind the other team (it was great, we got so many of them!), right into the nettles and I was wearing short sleeves. My arms currently feel like I have needles stuck all over them

  25. Afternoon all, looking for an appraisal for the above as UK prices seem to jump from £350 to £500 for the base gun, depending on retailer and no one has one in stock that I can find UK based anyway. Its a bog standard, barely used VFC SCAR H GBBR in black, I'm the only owner since new and the only wear and tear on this is on the side and bottom rails, otherwise it's mint. Only had about 2 magazines through it and it's never been skirmished. Fitted with an Angry Gun ACR stock with metal stock adapter, replica 1x - 4x Elcan Specter DR, Element LA-5 UHP (green laser version), Genuine Magpul MIAD 1.1 grip, Tango Down style vert grip, Air Force One Atlas bipod replica, Element M3X flash light, quick release AAC style suppressor and 51T flash hider, Element SCAR rail covers and original flash hider with a steel VFC full length barrel extension. Includes one gas tight magazine. Thanks in advance for the help, Callum.

    First rifle advice.

Adding my 2p I don't think you need to spend much more than £100 for a basic rifle to do target practice in the garden. Any of these will be OK for plinking: Two Tone Airsoft Assault Rifles | Buy Now Pay Later | Patrol Base (Don't know about Lancer but CYMA and Specna are decent) Low stock is a problem everywhere 🤔 Be aware though, airsoft weapons are nowhere near as accurate as air rifles. Especially above 30m. Get some 0.28g BBs to help with accuracy and you should have some eye protection just in case. Check the one you want comes with a battery and charger although a better battery (LiPo) and intelligent charger will be good investments later if you wish to continue with airsoft.

  31. Just to build on what the lads have said I had a rather pathetic low speed motorbike crash that resulted in 5mths in a wheelchair, several reconstructive surgeries on my Left foot and ankle full cruciate reconstruction of the right knee and 11mths off work AND the orthopod said the two probable outcomes I was looking at where either 85-90% recovery or sub 20% due to the nature of my injures and as he was leaving my bed side he casually threw out “oh by the way this was a one off fix as well , if ANYTHING happens to your ankle you’ll be loosing the leg below the knee !” And then casually walked off to his next patient ! So for the next year-18mths I was equally apprehensive/scared of the potential effect on my life in general if I did injure it again . So yea this whole thing had a hell of an effect on my Airsofting due to just the worry about potential injuries . All I’d say is listen to what others say but ultimately only you can come up with game plan your happy with , and I promise there IS one out there somewhere.😉👍

    First rifle advice.

Generally, go with the heaviest that the gun can lift. That's determined by a complicated relationship between nozzle energy, bucking shape and material, nub hardness, and hop arm pressure, which boils down to: it depends. Pretty much any stock gun should hop 0.25g. Most can hop 0.28g, although it's not guaranteed. What I would always suggest is cleaning the hop rubber and the barrel before use - hopefully the CYMA will come with a cleaning rod, although you can push a patch down the barrel with any 6mm-ish plastic rod. Ideally you'll clean from rear to front so as not to push any barrel shipping oil back into the bucking, although it's not super critical as long as you get it all clear all the way. If you do fancy diving inside, this is a fairly decent disassembly video. Or you can remove the inner barrel by taking off the handguard, removing the three screws shown in red here, and the whole inner barrel assemble will slide out forwards, giving access to the hop unit and rubber.

Was chatting to the staff afterwards and I commented on this, and they confirmed there had been one complaint throughout the day, and that was a bout a rental kid who didn't know hand shots counted (Really mate?) And the vein in my head was about ready to pop from running around in the heat.

    KSC glock 19

Agree with the man above, I've had a ksc G19 for 20+ years, first pistol I ever owned & still does what its supposed to, paid £65 new, talk about value for money. For what you'll get for it, I'd say sort the gas/fps issue & keep it, back up or loaner for when mates tag along, it'll be invaluable 👍

These are quality gbbs. Ksc milspec glock 17 were the bomb 10 years ago. I’d keep it. Just lube it up, don’t over load the mag max 10 -15 bbs and use a red gas. Should be absolutely fine. my son has a v1 ksc p226 from 2006, still works as it should with no work done.

  39. My TM with fixed hop was great fun, and everyone that used it really enjoyed I, but at the end of the day an airsoft shotgun is just a bit of fun, and not something to field seriously, so I'm just looking at it with that approach. I had been looking at a Golden Eagle but I'll strike that off the list now. Currently an S&T M870 is too of the list, as options on getting another TM in the UK are limited at best 😕

  40. I drag a fucked leg around. Given enough meds and willpower it can still work-ish. I can sit at home in pain or get out and enjoy life. As to eyes... when motorcycling or airsofting I have double+ eyepro. Glasses, tinted visor plus actual visor on the bike. Double lensed full seal goggles and contacts for airsoft. I figure that BB shrapnel is better embedded in a lens than my eye if the lenses fail. I still enjoy martial arts, boxing etc, and a detached retina is a risk in many of the things that we enjoy. I wear eyepro sparring these days. No real reason not too. Take it sensible and do what you love. If it helps I can recommend Uvex goggles. . I drilled a series of holes in a pair of ancient Uvex goggles and put a 40 Mike into them at 6". I then shot them with a bolty at 480ish fps. The sniper marked the lenses but they held up 100%. Fucking tough and inexpensive. If you are worried about cheek strikes a fencing style mask may be the thing. Good luck finding your personal solution!

Yeah, the years take a toll even if you try to look after yourself. My lower back is a problem but I haven't been able to get it checked yet. As Tackle said, you can still enjoy a game of airsoft at a slower pace from further back and wearing good eyepro will protect the peepers no problem.

  42. I still use my WE Deagle from time to time and it is a beast. You can grab a kydex holster or cheaper amomax one pretty easily as well, only practical issues are extra mags are expensive and you'll need one of the looser pistol mag pouch designs for them. Full metal, the recoil is satisfying and never fails to put a smile on peoples faces when I offer my Deeg to them to pop off a few shots after I see them eyeing it up, and perhaps someone here was misinformed when talking about gas capacity; it rocks. The Deagle is the only gas pistol I happily run in colder times of year even though the full metal slide is huge; I think its because of the gas reservoir and the very large nozzle used in the design. The range is also pretty nutty, granted, mine has an autobot, stalker hop nub and crazy jet inner, but I reckon you'd still get impressive performance out of just an upgraded bucking. Lots of times people will be calling for a sniper to come over as there's a bloke in the distance pissing about and I just stroll up, do the classic one handed Hans Landa exaggerated aim, and proceed to miss completely hit every shot like the highly competent marksman I am. Because the barrel is fixed to the frame and doesn't move when the slide reciprocates, the accuracy is also really very good. If you've got small arms or a small frame in general maybe it would be a bit of a pain but honestly its not really that heavy. Most of the metal isn't steel or anything so its not as ridiculous as the real deal and absolutely skirmishable for me at least. If you do get one, just make sure you clean and oil it after every skirmish and check nothings shaking itself loose like with most hard kicking airsoft guns. Now, I know it sounds like I've been describing the second coming of Christ our lord and saviour in airsoft pistol form. It always seems a bit dodgy when someone sings the praises of any product too hard, but honestly? My Deagle has been amazing and never fails to perform, all whilst putting a huge grin on whoever I let try it out. So I recommend it whole heartedly in the hope that you pick one up and are as pleased with it as I've been with mine.

  44. Glad to hear you are on the mend fella. Here's to a full recovery.👍 Not quite the same but about eight years ago I had a stroke. Left sided dysphasia with a 1cm intracranial infarction or words to that effect lol. For couple of months after I left hospital I wouldn't let myself sleep or lay down because in my mind I thought that by putting my head on a pillow I would constrict the blood vessels in my head and cause another blockage, irrational I know and when the doctor explained that that wouldn't happen I was ok albeit with help from Amy trip to the line. Afterwards I was banging my head at every opportunity lol. Wear good eypro or even two pairs if it helps you mentally but I'm sure that eventually you will get over the angst and be good to go.🙂 Take whatever time it takes to get yourself better and then venture out when you feel comfortable. Hope that makes sense and best wishes 👍 Regards

    Tell Us a Gag. Please!

A man applies for a job at a gorilla sanctuary . At the interview the sanctuary owner says to him “ I will be needing someone to help me cull the amount of gorillas here your reference seems ok so what else would you require to do the job”.. The man replies “nothing much just a shotgun I already have a dog with me oh and I will need you to come along for a bit of assistance “ . “Ok I will see you first thing in the morning “ Next morning the two men are out in the sanctuary and the owner says “ right today we need to get rid of some silverbacks there’s one in that tree we can start there what would you like me to do” “If you hold the gun I will sort the rest “ With that the man walks over to the tree and shakes it and the gorilla falls out. Suddenly the dog bolts over and shags the gorilla to death ! “Right onto the next one” says the rather supprised but satisfied owner “that one in the tree there . Is there anything I can do?” says the owner “Just hold the gun I will do the rest“ replies the man . Same again he walks to the tree shakes it, gorilla falls out dog shags gorilla to death . They get to the end of the day and the owner says “Right last one for today, that oversized silverback has been a problem lately so we will finish with him are you sure there is’nt anything I can do?“ “Just hold the gun” the man replies. The man walks over and shakes the tree but nothing happens! He walks back to the owner shaking his head , taking off his coat and rolling his sleeves up. “What are you going to do now?” asks the owner “Well he won’t come down so I’m going have to go up and wrestle him out” replies the man “What do want me to do?” asks the owner “If I fall out the tree shoot the dog!!

Another BRILLIANT day at Red Alert. Lots of kills, lots of deaths, LOADS of laughter. Great marshalling, great hit calling. I bloody love that site. No two days are the same, as they change up game modes often, thanks to the size and layout of the site. I highly recommend Red Alert Newbury if it's within your travelling distance. Also, Sneaky is a damn good shot with his DMR!!

  48. it was a good game. I shot someone and the BB went down the tracer's barrel. I was out more than I was in... It was a nice return after being ill.

  49. (When I said Tippmann's chug along, I just checked on my chrono and it's currently at 16.5rps. Much the same as my DE M906 on 11.1v, and perfectly acceptable IMHO)
